All these lawsuit shenanigans with select federal judges from "woke-crazed" districts like Boston, San Francisco, Rhode Island, and the DC Beltway are aimed at provoking a 2nd civil war. The objective is to burden Trump with so many restrictions on the executive that the country can’t be governed without declaring a national emergency. This is the left-wing/democratic Party’s desperate strategy to stay alive: to preserve the flow of taxpayer money to its minions stuffed into the organs of government like cancer cells, and the vast network of NGOs that employ its agents and spread its sickness. The neo-liberal/democratic Party is a malignancy within the republic and the money is the blood-flow that feeds it. DOGE is the chemotherapy that has starved some of the worst tumors, such as USAID. Chemotherapy is always hard on the patient. Cancer is a very tough and resourceful enemy of a healthy body, and fights back by any means available. Ultimately, it seeks to kill the body it has come to inhabit — in this case, the body-politic of the USA. We are fighting for the life of our republic against a demonic enemy.

The left-wing/democratic Party displays exactly the characteristics that human beings traditionally associate with pure evil. Above all, it lies about everything that it does. It lies, of course, in order to deceive you, so that you won’t understand how it is working to vanquish you and your posterity (your kids and their future). RussiaGate, Covid, the Ukraine War, all were marinated in lies. The lies operate through the perversion of language, so you won’t understand what is being said. For instance: that the left-wing/democratic Party is working to save our democracy. That howler persists in their every public performance.

The neo-liberal/democratic Party controls the major organs of information: The new york Times, CBs, ABs, NBs, CNNbs, NPRbs, Hollywood. They are the conveyors of lies, bamboozling the body politic to divide and conquer it. The left-wing/democratic party is a bad faith legion enlisted to defend the Father-of-Lies, America’s deep state. That information regime is failing now, along with the left-wing/democratic Party. The Deep State is failing with them. They are the parasites that kill its host. They intend to kill the republic as they go down.

The Supreme Court of the US (SCOTUS) is supposed to function like an immune system for the body politic, defending it against political sickness. The current organized action in the federal judiciary against the executive is a grave sickness induced by the deep state that must be corrected by the SCOTUS. We await that corrective action — a sweeping decision in reply to 100-plus lawsuits — that the chief executive is in-charge of the executive department and that his prerogatives to manage the staffing and actions of the executive agencies can’t be arrogated by federal judges. So far, obviously, the SCOTUS has not yet come to issue that decision. Many of you worry that they will fail to, because Chief Justice john roberts appears to be under the influence of the deep state. sheldon snook is Special Assistant to Chief justice roberts, and is deeply involved in the day-to-day management of the SCOTUS. snook is married to mary mcCord. mcCord has been a leading actor in the seditious operations against Trump since 2017. As Acting Attorney General for National Security in 2017, mcCord, turned james comey’s FBI jihad against National Security advisor Mike Flynn into a malicious and ultimately unsuccessful prosecution--The DOJ dropped the charges, which left/democrat -wing Judge Emmet G. Sullivan refused to execute! mcCord was also instrumental in the DOJ’s dishonest FISA application to surveil Carter Page. mcCord quit the DOJ to become a counsel to the committee in the 1st bogus impeachment of Trump. In that role, she assisted norm eisen, the Chief Counsel to committee Chairman, left-wing/dem Rep. jerrold nadler (who refused to impeach clinton on REAL charges.  eisen has gone on since that time to become the chief coordinator of lawfare operations against Trump. mcCord remains a senior fellow of the neo-liberal atlantic council, sponsored by he left-wing billionaire soros family. snook remains at john roberts’ right hand.

So, if the SCOTUS upholds the arrogation of executive powers and prerogatives by federal district judges, don’t expect Trump to roll over for that decision. It may come to pass, as per all the above, that he will be constrained to declare a national emergency to vacate the deep state actors who are trying to make it impossible for him to govern constitutionally.  This, of course, will be seen by the deep state and the left-wing/democratic Party as cassus belli, an excuse to declare war against the president. The fake news media are what they are, and that was proven true once again Wednesday after reports surfaced that Elon Musk would be departing DOGE earlier than expected in part due to an alleged rift between the Tesla CEO and the Trump administration on grounds they "have become frustrated with his unpredictability and view the billionaire as a political liability."

As we reported, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt quickly panned the story. "This 'scoop' is garbage," Leavitt tweeted.  "Elon Musk and President Trump have both *publicly* stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at DOGE is complete." 

White House spokesman Harrison Fields echoed the sentiment in a statement to Fox News, noting, "This is exactly why President Trump and DOGE have terminated millions of dollars in wasteful, government contracts to so-called news organizations that have diminished their credibility."

As it turns out, Vice President JD Vance, too, had a lot to say about the rumor, telling Fox and Friends co-host Lawrence Jones during an interview that the story is "total fake news" and that Musk's work "is not even close to done":

"Well, first of all, that report I saw was total fake news. Elon came in, and we said, ‘We need you to make government more efficient, we need you to shrink the incredible vast bureaucracy that thwarts the will of the American people but also costs way too much money.' And we said, ‘That’s going to take about six months,' and that’s what Elon signed up for, but of course, he’s going to continue to be an adviser. And by the way, the work of DOGE is not even close to done, the work of Elon is not even close to done.

DOGE has got a lot of work to do, and yeah, that work's gonna continue after Elon leaves. But fundamentally, Elon is going to remain a friend and an advisor of both me and the president. And he's done a lot of good things. People don't realize how vast and uncontrolled the bureaucracy was. We've started to chip away at it, but there's a lot of work to do. It's not gonna happen all in six months, it's going to take a long commitment."

We've documented before how the MSM loves to report on alleged "feuds" between Republicans in stories that oftentimes end up being half-baked or not true at all.

We saw this play out in early March when the New York Times ran a story about a purported "explosive" cabinet meeting where they claimed Musk and Trump Sec. of State Marco Rubio had a heated argument while Trump looked on for a short time before intervening.

Trump sought to debunk the story. There was "no clash. I was there. You're just a troublemaker," he told the NBC News reporter who asked about it. "Elon gets along great with Marco. They're both doing a fantastic job. There is no clash." 

And in a show of solidarity two days after the Times report, both Musk and Rubio tag-teamed on Twitter/X to debunk Polish Foreign Affairs Minister Radosław Sikorski's claims about alleged threats to cut off Ukraine's Starlink access.

Two weeks later, Rubio pushed back on a CNN story that suggested he felt "overshadowed" by United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. 

In a tweet, Rubio wrote, "CNN is an anti-Trump gossip tabloid that uses thinly sourced stories to generate clicks and try to make trouble. Witkoff is one of the people I work with the CLOSEST on our team. These people are pathetic."

Witkoff, too, slammed the CNN article, writing that "We work in complete sync together. There has never been a moment of friction between us and we have become close personal friends. It’s scary what these writers will do to attempt to be relevant."

All of this is just one more reminder about how if you think you hate the media enough, you don't. You really don't.

President Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE are bringing much-needed accountability to our out-of-control government as they take a chainsaw to rampant waste, fraud, and abuse.

Tyranny is an Eternal Threat.  And its supporters are full of “passionate intensity!”-Posted on FrontPage Magazine-By Bruce Thornton-On April 3, 2025:

From its beginning, the foundational story of the United States has been the struggle between freedom and tyranny, which is a conflict over power. Should the elite minority defined by lineage, wealth, or education control and rule the collective people; or should the people share in that power, since their consent is required? Which is worse, the tyranny of the few, or the tyranny of the many?

Most of our political conflicts go back to those questions. Take the current clash between Donald Trump’s administration, and the unelected federal judiciary. A district court judge has ordered Trump to stop deporting vicious illegal alien gangsters, per the 1798 Act Concerning Aliens, which makes it “lawful for the President of the United States . . .to order all such aliens as he shall judge dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States, or shall have reasonable grounds to suspect are concerned in any treasonable or secret machinations against the government thereof, to depart out of the territory of the United States.”

This judge also violated the principle of separated and balanced powers by egregiously interfering with the president’s power. Another district court judge issued an injunction against Trump’s Executive Order to transfer biologically male prisons who self-identify as women, back to male prisons. According to the judge, “The fact that they have already been transferred and, allegedly, have been abused at their new facilities can only strengthen their claims of irreparable harm.” You don’t have to work in a prison, male or female, to know that all inmates are subject to physical abuse, rape, and other sexual assaults.

That injunction also violates the Constitution’s separation of powers for district court judges to encroach on the powers of an elected president who is carrying out his duty to “take care that the Laws be faithfully executed”? And as such, are not the judges’ orders an act of tyranny?

According to Aristotle, tyranny is “arbitrary power . . . which is responsible to no one, and governs all alike, whether equals or betters, with a view to its own advantage, not to that of its subjects, and therefore against their will. No free man willingly endures such a government.” Unelected district court judges who issue restraining orders on elected presidents can be a tyranny of one, disenfranchising the millions of citizens who put the president into office.

In our history, this moral hazard of tyrannical harm has been a bone of contention between those who favor the people, and those who favor elites. Andrew Jackson, our first non-elite, populist president, frequently addressed this struggle. Such “closed elites,” as historian Walter McDougall calls them, were empowered by the federal government, and vulnerable to the corruption of concentrated power. In 1824, Jackson wrote that a Federalist administration “is calculated to raise around the administration a moneyed aristocracy dangerous to the liberties of the country.”

Furthermore, Jackson wrote, “Our government is founded upon the intelligence of the people . . . I have great confidence in the virtue of the great majority of the people,” a belief that challenged the technocratic pretensions that elites were more capable than the non-elites who relied on experience, virtue, faith, and common sense to guide their political choices. Jackson also distrusted institutions like the Supreme Court, whose authority “must not . . . be permitted to control the Congress or the Executive when acting in their legislative capacity.”

The recent use of restraining orders validates Jackson’s fears of corrupt encroachments on executive power. This abuse of restraining orders by unelected judges has increased in recent years in order to serve partisan ideological ends by using egregious double standards that overwhelmingly favor Democrats.

PJ Media’s Matt Margolis has pointed out this violation of the 14^th Amendment. “In the sixty years between 1963 and 2023, federal courts issued a total of 127 nationwide injunctions.” But 64 of those were issued against Trump during his first term alone. . .”  Worse, “in just the first two months of Trump’s second term, activist judges have already issued 37 more injunctions.”

Moreover, Margolis reports, “The partisan nature of this judicial assault couldn’t be more obvious. A staggering 92.2% of the injunctions against Trump in his first term came from Democrat-appointed judges. Only five Republican-appointed judges joined this partisan circus.”

Many of our Founders and populist ancestors would not have been surprised at this corruption, which they predicted would follow from social and economic elites who had control of concentrated federal power, especially a judiciary unaccountable to the voters. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts’ inappropriate scolding of the president for even talking about impeachment was also a blow to the separation of powers and accountability. Impeachment, after all, is one of the guardrails given to the people for checking, albeit indirectly, the tyranny of the federal government minority.

But there are other partisan assaults on the critical Constitutional structure of divided and separated powers. One of the more tempting forms of judiciary corruption is court-packing, altering the structure and protocols of the Supreme Court for partisan advantage. The Biden administration last July attempted to “reform” the Court, as obviously self-serving as FDR’s in 1937.

Biden’s “reforms” comprised 18-year term limits for justices; and government oversight, external to the Court itself, to investigate and punish dubious or manufactured charges of “corruption.” The real purpose was to prepare the court for Dems to appoint activist, “living Constitution” candidates when Democrats are in power. By this means Dems could swamp conservative and originalists like several of the current Court’s justices, who have corrected unconstitutional precedents such as Roe v. Wade, which was a grievous blow to progressives.

Finally, the second Trump administration has already made great strides in rolling back the century-long progressive assault on the Constitution’s structure of separated and balanced powers, and the Bill of Rights–– not just to thwart the technocratic progressives’ aim of “solving problems.” More important, Trump’s reforms will restore guardrails protecting the freedom and unalienable rights of citizens to improve their own lives, rather than surrendering to the dysfunctional, tyrannical, and corrupt federal regulatory Leviathan, and its pretensions to “follow the science” at the same time they marginalize common sense and the Constitution’s traditional wisdom.

But that achievement is only the start of restoring our Constitutional order. The party of the centralized empowerment of elites may seem in disarray at the moment, but like Yeats’ “worse,” they are full of “passionate intensity.” The lovers of ordered liberty, and haters of tyranny must never flag in their defense of their freedoms and unalienable rights, but prove Aristotle right when he said of tyranny, “No free man willingly endures such a government.”

The easily excitable Harvard University political scientist Steven Levitsky told the Times that Trump's "intensifying conflict with the federal courts is unusually aggressive," adding that the administration's "increasingly open, authoritarian behavior is unlike almost anything I've seen." (As the co-author of "How Democracies Die" and "Competitive Authoritarianism," we know he's not given to overreaction.)

The casus belli is that Trump is sending bloodthirsty, murderous, face-tattooed terrorists from your neighborhood, out of the country, to prisons in El Salvador. Hey! One of those guys was only a rapist!

Liberals were cool with President Biden defying federal immigration law to import thousands of Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang members to rape and murder American girls, engage in human trafficking, seize apartment complexes in Colorado and murder police officers. (By contrast, Islamic terrorists haven't killed anyone in the U.S. since 2017.)

Only when Trump kicked them out did liberals start wailing about a "constitutional crisis," which is currently defined as anything that raises Levitsky's systolic blood pressure more than 10 points.

District Court Judge James Boasberg issued an oral order from the bench insanely demanding that the planes carrying the gang members be turned around and rerouted to the U.S. -- no doubt, pursuant to the judge's authority as commander in chief. The killers were deprived of their "due process"! (To add insult to injury, the in-flight movie was Disney's new remake of "Snow White.") Where was the public's "due process" when Biden was letting these gangsters into the country?

But Trump just keeps sending Democrats' favorite immigrants to Salvadoran prisons. (Not that I think it would have made a difference to the hero of this story, DJT, but Boasberg's written order said nothing about turning the planes back.)

This, liberals tell us, is a "constitutional crisis" because Trump is allegedly defying a court order. And God knows, liberals would never defy a court order. Unless they didn't like it.

The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that the president has near-exclusive control over immigration as part of his management of international affairs. That's why Arizona couldn't pass a law abiding by federal immigration laws when President Obama decided to ignore those laws. That's why, under President Clinton, an 8-year-old boy had to be captured at gunpoint and sent back to a brutal communist dictatorship. That's also why the court upheld Trump's so-called "Muslim ban."

But Democratic states and cities across the country brag about their refusal to obey these consistent rulings from the Supreme Court -- not from some dinky little district court judge, I note. They proudly call themselves "sanctuary cities" and "sanctuary states." (Because a "I'm pro-rapist mass-murdering drug traffickers, and I vote" sticker wouldn't fit on the bumper of their Subaru.)

No "constitutional crisis" there!

In June 2023, the Supreme Court issued a blindingly clear opinion ordering Harvard and the University of North Carolina, specifically, and all universities by implication, to stop discriminating on the basis of race.

You might remember it. Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard produced no end of wailing from the roughly 2 million DEI wastes of plasma.

In response to the court's ruling, the Biden administration helpfully sent out a "Dear Colleague" letter, coaching universities on ways to defy the court's ruling -- principally by recycling the exact same arguments already advanced by Harvard and rejected by the court.

Harvard's leading hysteric, Levitsky, retweeted a video statement from college president and noted plagiarist Claudine Gay, claiming to abide by the decision -- while simultaneously using all the buzzwords for not abiding by the decision: "diversity is critical," "our resolve to continue opening doors" and -- my favorite -- "we will be working to understand the decision." It wasn't that complicated: Stop discriminating. (Next you'll be telling me Dr. Gay refused to condemn antisemitism on campus, ha ha!)

The results are now in and oh my gosh are universities defying the Supreme Court.

Harvard admissions one year before SFFA v. Harvard:

Black: 15.5%

Latino: 13.3%

Asian: 27.8%

Harvard admissions one year after SFFA v. Harvard:

Black: 14%

Latino: 16%

Asian: 37%

The numbers are similarly unchanged at Yale, Dartmouth, Northwestern, the University of Virginia, Wesleyan, Williams, Bowdoin, Princeton, Duke, etc. etc. In fact, the percentages of black and Hispanic admissions actually went up at most of these schools.

The colleges' own sworn statements prove that they are brazenly ignoring the ruling. Harvard's expert told the court that, without giving racial preferences to America's Brahim class, black people, admissions would drop from 14% black to 6% black. Other universities claimed that the percentage of blacks would fall to about 2% -- slightly higher during March Madness.

Just last week, we got a clearer picture of academia's dogged refusal to stop discriminating when New York University's webpage was hacked and replaced with the SAT scores for different racial groups admitted in 2024. The average Asian SAT score was 1,485, the average white score was 1,428, the average Hispanic score was 1,355 and the average black score was 1,289 -- or two standard deviations from the Asian score.

I can't help but notice that the Constitution gives Harvard and the University of North Carolina no role whatsoever in our federal government. It's bad enough to have courts assuming the powers of the presidency, but we have colleges and universities assuming the role of a super-Supreme Court.

Liberals don't care about respect for the courts. They just like discriminating, and they love face-tattooed, savage Venezuelan gangs.

How in the world did they get so rich?

To be clear, we’re not talking about billionaire moguls like Elon Musk or Mark Cuban — love them or hate them, it’s actually very explicable how they made their respective fortunes through some semblance of hard work, fortuitous timing, and technological savvy.

No, we’re asking this question about our duly elected members of Congress.

And by “we,” this writer means Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency.

The DOGE head outlined one of the department’s latest initiatives during a town hall in Wisconsin (where Musk was rallying prospective voters to go Republican when voting on the Badger State’s critical state Supreme Court race) when asked a peculiar question by an attendee.

“My question is about [the United States Agency for International Development],” the attendee began. “Has the DOGE team found any evidence that any of the radical-left Democrats like Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, [or] Chuck Schumer have received money directly from USAID? And if so, will we be hearing about that evidence anytime soon?”

Whereas a less transparent administration might’ve dodged this question, Musk took a different tack.

“Yeah, so,” Musk began while collecting his thoughts. “There is a massive amount of corruption, but it is circuitous. So what happens is there’s money that — obviously it’s your taxpayer money — that is then sent to various government organizations who then send it to NGO’s, which an NGO is a non-governmental organization, but obviously it’s a government-funded non-governmental organization.

“It’s just an organization. It’s just a government, and effectively there’s a giant fraud loophole which is that the government can send money to an NGO that is then no longer governed by the laws of the United States.

“So they’ll send the money overseas to one NGO, then they’ll go through a bunch of them, and then, I’m highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned.

“But it is a circuitous route. It doesn’t go directly [to them].

“But let’s just say that there’s a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress.”

Strangely wealthy, indeed. And perhaps none more “strangely wealthy” than shrill California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, as pointed out by the New York Post.

“Two of the wealthiest [members of Congress] include former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who has a net worth of about $250 million, and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), whose personal fortune hovers around $552 million,” the outlet reported.

Both of those eye-popping numbers certainly aren’t in line with people whose salaries hover around $174,000 annually.

However, it’s worth noting that Scott’s fortune largely stems from work done with healthcare companies that “predates his time in the Senate,” per the Post.

Pelosi, on the other hand? She’s rich mostly from the stock market that she and her husband, Paul Pelosi, actively traded in.

And, why yes, for some reason, it does occur to this writer that insider trading can be a crime.

If DOGE starts tugging on this thread, would it be enough for Pelosi to pull a Rosie O’Donnell and flee to more Irish pastures? Probably not, because surely the former Speaker of the House would never engage in such unsavory activities …

Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have been going through Washington like the Golden Horde, uprooting and exposing government waste and fraud. Their efforts have saved taxpayers $140 billion. Yet, Musk has also become a lightning rod for the Left, which has undertaken a campaign of domestic terrorism against his companies. How long will he remain in his position? Not long. Trump has supposedly told his inner circle that Musk’s role will be modified soon. He is not upset with the Tesla CEO but feels it’s time for him to return to running his companies. Granted, this is based on anonymous sources. Whatever happens, Musk isn’t going away. The Trump White House has responded, but first, read the 'scoop' (via Politico): 

“President Donald Trump has told his inner circle, including members of his Cabinet, that Elon Musk will be stepping back in the coming weeks from his current role as governing partner, ubiquitous cheerleader and Washington hatchet man.

The president remains pleased with Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency initiative but both men have decided in recent days that it will soon be time for Musk to return to his businesses and take on a supporting role, according to three Trump insiders who were granted anonymity to describe the evolving relationship.

It also represents a stark shift in the Trump-Musk relationship from a month ago, when White House officials and allies were predicting Musk was “here to stay” and that Trump would find a way to blow past the 130-day time limit. 

One senior administration official said Musk is likely to retain an informal role as an adviser and continue to be an occasional face around the White House grounds. Another cautioned that anyone who thinks Musk is going to disappear entirely from Trump’s orbit is “fooling themselves.” 

The transition, the insiders said, is likely to correspond to the end of Musk’s time as a “special government employee,” a special status that temporarily exempts him from some ethics and conflict-of-interest rules. That 130-day period is expected to expire in late May or early June. 

Musk’s defenders inside the administration believe that the time is right for a transition, given their view that there’s only so much more he can cut from government agencies without shaving too close to the bone. 

But many others say, he’s an unpredictable, unmanageable force who has had issues communicating his plans with Cabinet secretaries and through the White House chain of command led by chief of staff Susie Wiles, frequently sending them into a frenzy with unexpected and off-message comments on X, his social-media platform — including sharing unvetted and uncoordinated plans to gut federal agencies.

The political threat Musk poses was highlighted Tuesday after Democrats seized on Musk’s roughly $20 million investment in the Wisconsin race, with some openly calling it a referendum on the polarizing mogul.” 

Okay, it’s certainly not the latter—off-year special elections are tricky to gauge. Let’s not overanalyze what happened in Wisconsin last night. Democrats spent a boatload of money in two Florida congressional races last night and lost both handily; I'm not using that as a sign that we will win the 2026 midterms. I couldn’t care less about the palace intrigue either, but as you know, anything can switch on a dime in Trump world.

 We’re arguably amidst a judicial insurrection that hasn’t been lost on anyone, especially within the Trump White House and on Capitol Hill. The Trump administration knew it would face opposition; this isn’t their first rodeo. It doesn’t make it any less infuriating, however. The only difference is that the president has an army of lawyers and an attorney general at the helm to help defend his lawful executive orders aimed at securing the border, deporting illegal aliens, reducing regulations, and rebuilding our military. You saw how many he signed on day one of his presidency. Members of the Republican Study Committee spoke about this on their recent podcast, Right to the Point.

Reps. Mary Miller (R-IL), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Mark Alford (R-MO) discussed a slew of action items on the docket for congressional Republicans, like rolling back DEI nonsense, but dealing with these judges must be a top priority to prevent further obstacles in enacting this agenda that the American people voted for.

Congressman Alford started this with a simple question: “Should judicial district judges be able to control all of America?” 

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) is spearheading this legislation. 

“No, absolutely not. And our Constitution has designed our system to have, you know, three branches of government a check on power,” said Rep. Miller. “This is, you know, they're trying to drag President Trump's agenda, but the American people are wise to them, and this, again, is going to backfire on them, in my opinion.”

 “Well, I’m voting yes on this. Who do they think they are? Mark, they have their districts. They're supposed to be, you know, settling feuds within their district, but they want to supersede their authority,” added Rep. Harshbarger. “I heard Newt Gingrich speak on this to Mark Levin, as a matter of fact. And he said, Congress, ladies, Congress, has the ability to abolish the court, to defund them, or to impeach them,” she added. 

Mr. Gingrich testified on the Hill on this topic and, yes, called for the defunding of activist judges. They cannot overrule the people's will.

The entire line-up here seemed to agree that Congress must work better; they must do their due diligence on the spending since USAID was essentially a Clinton Foundation slush fund on steroids for left-wing causes that got a pass under Republicans. The voters want action, and the GOP must get a better handle on the appropriation of funds. Rep. Green is excited to pass the GOP’s budget reconciliation package.

“I'm for impeaching the judges, but Congress all of us, we have to do our job. We have to pass our own budget, our own policies, and the CR didn't do that. I mean, we would be very dishonest with the people if we were saying that, ‘Oh no, our budget and the CR handled all of this,’” said the Georgia Republican. “We really handed rogue judges an excuse to be able to uphold what Congress funded, and what we funded was Biden policies. So that's why me, in particular, I'm really looking forward to us passing our own reconciliation budget and our own appropriations.”

There seems to be much unity regarding what to do, whereas Democrats are still a chaotic mess. They’re still mad at Chuck Schumer, they have no message or plan, and they remain engulfed in theatrics that will yield them zero political dividends.

These rogue judges issuing rulings that go beyond their authority must be tackled. Speaker Mike Johnson mentioned dissolving some troublesome district courts. Their unlawful rulings are beyond disagreement—some of them read as if they’re pitches for the opinion section of The New York Times. This unelected gavel Gestapo think they can dictate who can be deported and when, who should and shouldn’t be recruited at the Pentagon, and who can and cannot be fired within the federal workforce. It’s insane; no district judge should be allowed to issue a national injunction.

It was one of those meaningless wins that hurt your draft stock. Former Biden White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said that while this might show some Democrats have signs of life, “It won’t have a tangible impact on business in Washington.”

Booker, you delivered a hyperbolic, overly theatrical screed against Trump. And no one cares, nor will they a week from now. Moral victories are grossly overrated and mean even less if there’s no foundation to build a winning operation. Democrats are still stuck in the muck, with a toxic brand.

A signal flare lights up the night sky in a bright flash, captures everyone’s attention, and then fizzles and disappears. The recent controversy about the Signal group chat seems to be following that same course.

That episode regarded the U.S. military operation conducted two weeks ago against the Houthis — the Iran-sponsored military and political group that has been interfering with commercial shipping traffic and firing on U.S. Navy ships in the Red Sea since 2023. The operation was well planned and executed, but security in the hours before the mission was seriously compromised.

The shortcoming was made public in a scoop article in The Atlantic written by Jeffrey Goldberg, that publication’s editor-in-chief. Somehow, he was added to an electronic group chat among senior Trump administration officials discussing the planned attack via an ostensibly secure communications app called Signal.

The political blowback was immediate and hyperbolic. Political opponents deemed it a full-blown crisis, a national disgrace, and a catastrophic leak of military attack plans that endangered the mission and revealed sensitive commentary disparaging U.S. allies. The Trump administration’s reaction to the criticism didn’t help, wandering into futile attempts to argue that the information released was not actually classified. Facing the obvious security gap and moving to fix it would have been a far better response.

But an international crisis it was not, and Democrat demands that “heads roll” were absurd. But beyond the political buzz, there are elements of this episode that deserve serious attention. A bit of clarity might help.

First and foremost, we know what happened, but we don’t know how it happened. Nearly every news account describes the event as the result of the “inadvertent” or “accidental” inclusion of a “journalist” in the private, ultra-high-level chat group meeting of senior government leaders, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and others.

Of course, the journalist is none other than the editor-in-chief of one of the most virulently Trump-hating periodicals in the U.S. The notion that he was included in that group chat inadvertently is preposterous. To be clear, I don’t mean unlikely, surprising, or curious — I mean that it simply could not have happened without deliberate and surely malicious actions.

The explanation offered by The Atlantic’s journalists is laughable. They tell us that this sort of thing happens all the time, like carelessly forgetting to delete your mother-in-law’s email address in an email criticizing last night’s lasagna. Yup, happens all the time — you pick up the phone, misdial, and find yourself talking to King Charles of England. No — someone, somewhere, had to get Goldberg’s contact information, plant it into the chat group invitation, and ensure it would not be recognized by the other attendees. Who was it — and for what reason?

What surely was NOT inadvertent was Goldberg’s actions following the meeting. It’s hard to imagine behavior as disingenuous as his solemn harrumphing about the importance of keeping a tight lid on sensitive matters and then immediately broadcasting every sensitive detail to the world. And even if the chat session unfolded as he described — that he stumbled unexpectedly into an ultra-sensitive discussion among our government leaders — the ethical and responsible action would have been to identify his unintended presence, exit the meeting, and quietly inform the administration of the apparent glitch in their comms system.

There can be no doubt that what transpired was no accident — it was prearranged and deftly executed, intended to embarrass the administration.

Regarding Democrat demands for heads to roll, their insistence carries a distinct whiff of their signature Brett Kavanaugh opposition seven years ago. Unable to block a Supreme Court candidate not to their liking (as with their futile attempts over the last few months to block Trump cabinet appointments), they settle instead for savaging reputations — and, in so doing, diminishing public confidence in our government’s leaders.

As one ugly example, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA), at a widely covered press conference, wondered aloud whether Hegseth is “just incompetent … or drunk.” It strikes me that officials who express concern about intemperate comments regarding America’s European allies might want to think twice before slandering our own leaders.

Trump’s choice of Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense was understandably controversial. Hegseth has no executive experience and clearly has his hands full in taking the reins of that giant, sprawling organization. But given his high-energy leadership style and the obvious enthusiasm he’s generated among our servicemen and women (as evidenced by skyrocketing recruitment levels), I’d posit that he’s off to a solid start.

In short, the Signal episode calls for two important actions. (1) We must find and hold accountable whoever is behind the eavesdropping on high-level leadership interactions (i.e., the real threat to domestic security). (2) Immediately close the gaps in comms systems used for such interactions. Beyond that, I believe most Americans see it for what it was: an embarrassing but not particularly damaging political flap.

To better use the “accident” label, we might look at this episode as not unlike the fender bender that might have been far more serious, and that reinforces the need to recognize, fix, and learn from our mistakes. I, for one, trust the team in place to do that.

The market has been volatile. Canada has been throwing a tantrum over the new tariff policy, and the legacy media thinks they landed a haymaker on President Trump over the Signal story. To recap, that inside-the-beltway kerfuffle was admittedly a self-inflicted wound. Top Trump officials were discussing anti-Houthi operations on the encrypted messenger app, and someone accidentally added the anti-Trump fake news writer Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic onto the chat. Goldberg claims that top-secret war plans were discussed. That’s a lie.

The mainstream media said that the American people find this to be a grave issue. Another lie—and the press is not winning. I’ve seen that talking point tossed around, which provides a funny juxtaposition since Trump’s approval rating is soaring. Even CNN polls have the president with a high approval rating. What’s causing it? Believe it or not, it’s from a swath of new supporters from younger voter blocs (via RealClearPolitics):

“In 2024, several new groups of voters joined the Trump movement, including people who had not voted for him in 2020 or 2016 and were not previously Republican voters, such as more young, lower-income, and Hispanic Americans. Whether they can be maintained with post-Trump GOP candidates remains to be seen, but according to polls so far, they are more approving of the second Trump administration than they were the first.

In the latest Gallup polls, Trump’s approval overall was up three points in the January–March period of his second term compared to his first, from 42% to 45%. 

The biggest gains weren’t in traditional conservative voters, though. Among adults age 65 and older, approval dropped by six points from this time during 2017 to now. Among non-Hispanic white adults, approval dropped by two points. 

The gains in approval instead came with the new sections of Trump voters. Among younger people ages 18–29 and 30–49, approval grew by six points, from 31% to 37%. Approval among people of color increased by 12%, and approval among Hispanic adults increased by 15%. His approval also increased with Republicans, from 87% to 92%, further proving his consolidation of support among the Republican Party, of which more were skeptical during his first term.” 

These numbers could have been a bit higher if the president had opted to prioritize passing the budget reconciliation package through Congress first. This package has some red meat domestic agenda items rolled into it, like extending the Trump tax cuts, which created a booming economy during the first Trump presidency. Trump chose to duke it out with Mexico and Canada over tariffs first, which has led to market volatility, though a reset was due regardless. 

Eye on the prize, though, by getting this budget reconciliation through.
