I suggest you ask yourself why the Walmart stores are telling their workers that plumbing problems are why they are immediately closing 5 stores which happen to not have any citations and have no permits pulled to do any work?

They told the workers there were plumbing issues. Closing stores immediately with no notice to workers or community

Congress Scores Political Victory Over Obama in Iran Deal

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee forced Barack Obama to back away from his one-man approach to negotiations with Iran. Under Sen. Bob Corker’s leadership, the committee on Tuesday passed a bill that would require Congress review Obama’s deal with Iran before lifting sanctions against the country. The bill passed 19-0 and is expected to pass both cambers withveto-proof majorities. Before the bill broke out of committee, Obama lobbied Congress to stay out of his dealings with Iran and its nuclear program. Now, Obama’s saying he may sign the legislation, cowing to the rightful demands of Congress. But Corker’s bill is far from perfect. Conservative commentator Noah Pollack tweeted, “The way Corker & Graham wrote their bill, Obama will win Congressional approval of Iran deal with only 34 votes. Ponder that.” In other words, a decision not to approve Obama’s bill faces the challenge of herding all the cats of Congress in the same direction. The Wall Street Journal argues the ideal role of Congress is to pass a treaty because nuclear deals should not be sealed with talk and a handshake. Hillary’s Income Inequality Platform Problem

While Hillary Clinton established her campaign on reducing income inequality, she has not practiced what she preached. “Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times, but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top,” Clinton said in the video announcing her presidential campaign “Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion.” Sure, Clinton can talk all she wants, but her platform places her between the idealistic Left and her salary. Progressives are beginning to say a $15-an-hour wage is the only wage they will support, probably to the chagrin of Seattle small businesses that have to close because of the city’s $15-an-hour wage experiment. And Hillary has acted precisely like the CEOs and one-percenters she lambasts. Her $200,000-an-hour speaking gigs place her firmly in the filthy rich category. Tennessee’s New Pro-Gun Law Gets It Right

The Tennessee governor’s mansion is occupied by a Republican, and the GOP owns supermajorities in both the House and Senate. The result has been a wave of pro-gun measures, including a “Guns in Parking Lots” law approved in 2013 that gives employees the legal right to store a firearm inside personal vehicles even if it’s against an employer’s inclinations. The move was a good one; the problem is that “an attorney general’s opinion later found that while the law decriminalized the actions of those who ignored posted gun bans on private property, employers could still terminate workers for violating company firearms policies,” explains WTVC News Channel 9. Last week, the legislature passed and Gov. Bill Haslam signed a fix that allows fired persons the ability to take legal action. Now, even some Republicans contend the new law infringes on employers' rights. But that’s misguided — businesses still have the right to ban firearms, but vehicles don’t belong to the employer. As Hot Air blogger Jazz Shaw concludes, “This law seems to me to have been a good compromise. The employer can bar carrying weapons in the workplace, but the employee’s car is not the workplace. And punishing them for such storage is an unreasonable burden on their constitutional rights.” Tennessee hit the bull’s-eye on this one. More…

Cruz Says Polls Don’t Matter; The Bill of Rights Does

Ted Cruz was right on target when asked about his views on the Second Amendment: “When it comes to constitutional rights, what matters is what the Bill of Rights says. It doesn’t matter what might be popular at the moment. We’ve seen regimes across the face of the earth come and take away people’s guns, strip away their rights to defend themselves, and sometimes it’s been very popular. And yet it is an inevitable prelude to tyranny. Our country was founded on a radical proposition, which is that our rights don’t come from government; they come from God. … The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting; it’s not for target shooting. … The Second Amendment is there so that you and I can protect our homes and our families and our children and our lives. And it’s also there as a fundamental check on government tyranny. And that, ultimately, is not subject to public opinion polls, it’s subject to the express protections of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution.” Cruz really nailed it.

Louisiana Timidly Considers Religious Liberty Legislation

Just like Indiana and Arkansas, Louisiana started to consider its own version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, but it seems the threat of pushback may dissuade state lawmakers. The president of Louisiana’s Senate, Republican John Alario, said, “As it was originally introduced, I’m not in favor of it. It would put Louisiana in such a bad light, we don’t want any part of it.” Whatever happened to trading short-term discomfort for long-term benefit? The state’s governor, Bobby Jindal, said he would fight for legislation like the RFRA “that seeks to preserve our most fundamental freedoms.” The opposition to state-level RFRAs could be nothing more than a heckler’s veto. According to a poll conducted by WPA Opinion Research on behalf of the Family Research Council, 81% of those polled “agree that government should leave people free to follow their beliefs about marriage as they live their daily lives at work and in the way they run their businesses.” But Louisiana lawmakers are scared of the shrill 19% who want government to tell small businesses to bake the cake, to serve the hypothetical pizzas, regardless of the business owner’s most deeply held beliefs. More…

Go File Those Taxes — It’s Income Redistribution Day

Today is that most mirthless of days, April 15, tax filing day, or as we in our humble shop have long dubbed it, “Income Redistribution Day.” It’s the day each year when government confiscates money from about half the nation’s citizens and gives a lot of it to the other half. (That’s an over-generalization, but you get the idea.) At least they didn’t choose April 19 – Patriots' Day – for tax filing. In honor of today, here are a few things to remember about taxes and the IRS.

It will take Americans 114 days this year to fully pay for the burden of all the levels of government — three more days than last year. In other words, when you pay your taxes today you’ll still have to work another nine days just to actually pay them off.

Then again, not everyone pays income taxes. The top 20% of earners bring in 51.3% of all income and yet pay 83.9% of all federal income taxes. By contrast, the bottom 20% of earners actually receive money from Washington those in higher brackets. What was that about a “fair share” again?

Americans of all tax brackets spend 6.1 billion hours filing individual and business taxes — hours that could otherwise be spent producing wealth rather than redistributing it. The Mercatus Centerestimates the cost of filing to be anywhere from $215 billion per year to nearly $1 trillion. Perhaps that’s because there are nearly 75,000 pages in the tax code.

Where did your tax money go? Just shy of half of all federal tax revenue goes to major entitlements — Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other health care programs. (Before we move on, to be crystal clear, some government benefits are “earned,” like Social Security or military benefits. These stand in contrast to “unearned” benefits of welfare, food stamps and the like.) Another 20% goes to various wealth transfer programs like unemployment benefits and food stamps. That’s more than two-thirds of the federal budget that goes from your pocket to someone else’s. See why we call it “Income Redistribution Day”?

Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t note that ObamaCare subsidies factored into millions of returns for the first time this year. And that’s going to mean a lot of, er, adjustments. According toInvestor’s Business Daily’s Betsy McCaughey, “If you enrolled in ObamaCare in 2014 and got a subsidy to pay for it, you’re at risk of losing your refund. Surprise: You may even owe Uncle Sam money. Only 4% of people who signed up for ObamaCare got the correct subsidy, so a whopping 96% will see their tax bill adjusted, some up and others down. Who would design a system that’s right only 4% of the time?” Democrats, that’s who.

Oh, and some 800,000 Healthcare.gov customers got the wrong tax form, and some may have to wait months to sort out their tax returns.

All the while, the IRS is essentially rewriting ObamaCare provisions regarding tax credit eligibility. The Supreme Court will settle part of that problem in June (subsidies on federal vs. state exchanges), but the IRS is rewriting other provisions, too. Remember: You can trust the IRS!

Today is a day to take stock of how a government that provides everything for its citizens can become a massive burden. It’s not just financial, either; it’s an issue of trust, power and the future of our great nation.

We close with the immortal words of Will Rogers: “The income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf has. Even when you make a tax form out on the level, you don’t know when it’s through if you are a crook or a martyr.”

Post script: Today, April 15th, Barack Obama has decreed that all flags are to be flown at half mast “as a Day of Remembrance for President Abraham Lincoln,” who was assassinated 150 years ago yesterday. We can think of other reasons to fly them at half mast, like the fact today is “Forced Income Redistribution Day,” or that Barack Obama is president.

Editor’s Note: It is no small irony that in the same week we observe Patriots' Day — the opening salvos at Lexington and Concord to establish American Liberty — working Americans also endure the April 15th deadline to forcibly surrender a growing portion of our earned income to a gravely bloated central government, which redistributes much of that income to ensure constituent support for its malignant growth. The Negotiator Strikes Again

Once again, Barack Obama has demonstrated his brand of “diplomacy,” which can only be described as “on my knees” statesmanship. He makes Neville Chamberlain look like Muhammad Ali.

After meeting with Raul Castro and other Latin American leaders over the weekend, our fearless leader announced he would be removing Cuba from the list of states supporting terrorists — his first move toward normalizing relations with Cuba. This comes on the heels of 18 months' worth of secret meetings between Obama’s and Castro’s negotiators. Considering what came of the negotiations, we can’t understand why it took 18 month, or even 18 days.

Obama reassured Congress that Cuba “has not provided any support for international terrorism” for at least the last six months, and, furthermore, “has provided assurances it will not support acts of international terrorism in the future.” And if you believe that we have some beautiful property in the Whitewater development at rock bottom prices.

As Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen observes, “There will be no mention from the White House of terrorists being protected and supported by the Castro regime, such as Joanne Chesimard — who murdered a New Jersey state trooper and was named in 2013 by Obama’s own FBI as one of its Most Wanted Terrorists. There will be no mention of the 70 other U.S. fugitives that Obama’s own State Department reports ‘The Cuban government continued to harbor’ while providing ‘support such as housing, food ration books, and medical care’ — or of the Spanish and Colombian terrorists receiving similar support from the Castro brothers.”

Obama’s move puts him at odds with the previous 10 presidents — both Democrat and Republican — who have all recognized that Cuba’s anti-American, despotic communist government terrorizes its formerly prosperous, hard-working people, keeps them in poverty, and locks up political dissenters who often languish for years in Cuban prison holes.

The ignorance of the American public is Obama’s best hope. Leftmedia newsreaders cheer Obama’s “courageous” move to finally recognize our island neighbor, which they say has suffered under the U.S. embargo and its other unjust policies. At first, a majority of low-information Americans agree that Obama is doing the right thing. But when told that Cuba is harboring Russian ships in its ports, opposition for normalization rises to 58%. And, Thiessen notes, when told that Cuba “attempts to smuggle 240 tons of weaponry to North Korea, opposition jumps to 63 percent and support plummets to 26 percent. When … told that Cuba is harboring a cop-killer and terrorists, opposition jumps to 63 percent and support plummets to 23 percent … and when asked whether Cuba’s designation as a supporter of terrorism should be maintained because it harbors terrorists, respondents agreed 68 percent to 16 percent.”

Americans aren’t quite as dumb as you think, Señior Obama.

Being the consummate negotiator he is, as demonstrated with the Iranians, Obama displays his brilliant “give all, take nothing” diplomacy as he moves toward the goal of normalization. Castro refuses to complete the deal until the U.S. pulls out of Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, and, of course, our president would gladly oblige if that pesky Congress weren’t in the way. The military also sees Gitmo as essential to our national defense.

There also remains the small issue of congressional approval on the way to his lifting the trade embargo and later recognizing Cuba. But Obama doesn’t often concern himself with the niceties of constitutionality, so he could very well decide to recognize Cuba without Congress. Sadly, Congress will probably blather about it but do nothing else.

Obama has angered many Americans, including politicians on both sides of the aisle, with his apologizing to dictators for America’s offenses and now with his kissing up to the Castro regime.

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), whose parents came to America from Cuba just before his birth,said, “President Obama’s actions have vindicated the brutal behavior of the Cuban government.”

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), also born of Cuban immigrants, likewise slammed Obama’s actions. In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Rubio wrote that Obama’s giving Castro’s regime diplomatic legitimacy “isn’t just bad for the oppressed Cuban people or for the millions who live in exile and lost everything at the hands of the dictatorship. Mr. Obama’s new Cuba policy is a victory for oppressive governments the world over and will have real, negative consequences for the American people.”

We have to say that all this comes as no surprise. Obama did promise to fundamentally transform the country, and his communist mentoring means he must lean in that direction. Actually, many people have suggested that’s where he stands. As Red State’s Erick Ericksonwrites, Obama’s “mentor, communist Frank Marshall Davis, would be proud of him.”

A new book by Kate Andersen Brower, entitled “The Residence: Inside the World of the White House, reveals how, during Bill’s antics regarding his affair with Monica Lewinski, Hillary took a book to his head leaving blood on the bad and Bill needing stitches.

This puts the DNC is something of a quandary.

In 2008, Hillary, the narcissist, felt the nomination was hers…all wrapped up and that the DNC would, along with the liberal media, propel her to the White House. It wasn’t to be. The DNC found a much more engaging candidate in Barack Hussein Obama and given their choice between two socialists, they backed Obama because, quite frankly, he wasn’t as abrasive as Hillary.

First Black president vs the first woman president…it didn’t matter…first is first and with Obama’s past safely hidden away and with his much more charismatic persona…Obama it was.

Hillary got the Secretary of State job, as a make-good for not being the nominee and that was supposed to have been that but again…

Let's say you live in the great state of Maine, down on your luck and needing some kind of social safety net to get you through. Would you say that spending at least 20 hours volunteering, working or participating in a work-training program is a fair trade-off for getting on the state's food stamp program? Even if you spend all your time playing "Call of Duty," surely you could carve out some time on the weekends to volunteer at the local animal shelter. But that requirement was too tough for 9,000 Mainiacs. Some 12,000 people were on Maine's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program before Jan. 1. After the government started enforcing the 20-hour rule, however, only 2,680 people stayed. Maine's Department of Health and Human Service's Commissioner, Mary Mayhew, told the Associated Press, "If you're on these programs it means you are living in poverty and so the more that we can help incentive people on that pathway to employment and self-sufficiency the better off they're going to be." While states like Georgia dabbled with drug testing welfare recipients (which had spotty results), it seems like the best way to help "the least of these" and prevent welfare fraud is to require a bit of honest work. On the day Fort Hood victims received their Purple Hearts, CBS News reports on the latest attempted jihad against the U.S. military on American soil: "A 20-year-old man has been charged with planning a suicide bomb attack against the Fort Riley military base in Kansas, in an alleged plot to support the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), federal prosecutors said Friday. John T. Booker, of Topeka, was arrested Friday morning while trying to arm what he thought what a 1,000-pound bomb inside a van near the base, according to court documents." Booker also goes by the name Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, which might give a clue as to his motive. He didn't exactly keep it a secret, though, posting on Facebook last year, "I will soon be leaving you forever so goodbye! I'm going to wage jihad and hopes that i [sic] die."      (factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - While we endure the daily lies of President nObama, do we really want to have another four to eight years more of Hilly Clinton’s? It’s not like we don’t have ample evidence of her indifference to the truth and that is not what America wants in a President, now or ever.
 
     The office has already been degraded to a point where neither our allies nor our enemies trusts anything nObama says. Do we really want to continue a process that could utterly destroy our nation?
 
     Hilly Clinton’s announcement that she intends to run for President is predicated not on any achievements in her life beyond having married Bill Clinton. Instead, her message is that America needs a woman as President. Having already elected an abject failure because he was black, one can only hope and pray that enough voters will conclude that America needs to avoid race or gender to be the determining factor.
 
     In 1974 the 27-year old Hilly was fired from a committee related to the Watergate investigation. Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised her and when the investigation was over, he fired her and refused to give her a letter of recommendation. When asked why, he said, “Because she was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee, and the rules of confidentiality.”

     She has not changed. Writing about her emails, Ronald D. Rotunda, a professor at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, said her admitted destruction of more than 30,000 emails “sure looks like an obstruction of justice—a serious violation of the criminal law. The law says that no one has to us email, but it is a crime (18 U.S.C. section 1519) to destroy even one message to prevent it from being subpoenaed.” The law, said Rotunda, punishes this with up to 20 years imprisonment.
 
     Instead, Hilly is asking voters to give her at least four years in the highest office in the land.
 
     Even pundits like The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, writing in mid-March responded to Hilly saying “None of what you said made any sense. Keeping a single account mingling business and personal with your own server wasn’t about ‘convenience.’ It was about expedience. You became judge and jury on what’s relevant because you didn’t want to leave digital fingerprints for others to retrace.”
 
     “You assume that if it’s good for the Clintons, it’s good for the world, you’re always tangling up government policy with your own needs, desires, deceptions, marital bargains, and gremlins.”
 
     Around the same time as Dowd’s rebuke, I wrote that I thought that the revelations about the emails and the millions the Clinton foundation received from nations with whom she was dealing as Secretary of State would be sufficient for those in charge of the Democratic Party to convince her not to run. I was wrong. I was wrong because I profoundly underestimated Hilly’s deep well of ambition and indifference to the laws everyone else must obey. I was wrong because the Democratic Party is totally corrupt.
 
     It is not as if anyone paying any attention would not know that she is politically to the far Left, a politician who does not believe that the powers of our government are derived from “the consent of the governed.” Throughout her life she has let us know that with quotes such as:
 
“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
 
     “(We) can’t just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”
 
     “I certainly think the free-market has failed.” These quotes are the personification of Communism.
 
     In March, the political pundit, Peggy Noonan, writing in The Wall Street Journal, said “We are defining political deviancy down.” Referring to the email scandal, she asked “Is it too much to imagine that Mrs. Clinton wanted to conceal the record of her communications as America’s top diplomat…?”  That was the reason she ignored the government’s rules regarding such communications. Rarely mentioned is the very strong likelihood that her email account had been hacked by our nation’s enemies and thus everything she was doing, officially and privately, was known to them.
 
     “The story,” said Noonan “is that this is what she does and always has. The rules apply to others, not her.” That is, simply said, a criminal mentality. “Why doesn’t the legacy press swarm her on this?” asked Noonan. “Because she is political royalty.”
 
     We fought a Revolution to free America from the British royalty. This was so ingrained in the thinking of the Founding Fathers that section 9 of Article One of the Constitution says “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States. And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of Congress, accept any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” That’s what the foundation did.
 
     Noonan had earlier written a book about Hilly. “As I researched I remembered why, four years into the Clinton administration, the New York Times columnist William Safire called Hilly ‘a congenital liar…compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.’”
 
     “Do we have to go through all that again?” asked Noonan. “A generation or two ago, a person so encrusted in a reputation for scandal would not be considered a possible presidential contender. She would be ineligible. Now she is inevitable.”
 
     Well, maybe not inevitable. We have a long time to go until the primaries arrive and then the election. We have enough time to ask ourselves if we live in a republic where merit, integrity, and honesty are still the standards by which we select our President.

Let’s say you live in the great state of Maine, down on your luck and needing some kind of social safety net to get you through. Would you say that spending at least 20 hours volunteering, working or participating in a work-training program is a fair trade-off for getting on the state’s food stamp program? Even if you spend all your time playing “Call of Duty,” surely you could carve out some time on the weekends to volunteer at the local animal shelter. But that requirement was too tough for 9,000 Mainiacs. Some 12,000 people were on Maine’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program before Jan. 1. After the government started enforcing the 20-hour rule, however, only 2,680 people stayed. Maine’s Department of Health and Human Service’s Commissioner, Mary Mayhew, told the Associated Press, “If you’re on these programs it means you are living in poverty and so the more that we can help incentive people on that pathway to employment and self-sufficiency the better off they’re going to be.” While states like Georgiadabbled with drug testing welfare recipients (which had spotty results), it seems like the best way to help “the least of these” and prevent welfare fraud is to require a bit of honest work. More…

On the day Fort Hood victims received their Purple Hearts, CBS News reports on the latest attempted jihad against the U.S. military on American soil: “A 20-year-old man has been charged with planning a suicide bomb attack against the Fort Riley military base in Kansas, in an alleged plot to support the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), federal prosecutors said Friday. John T. Booker, of Topeka, was arrested Friday morning while trying to arm what he thought what a 1,000-pound bomb inside a van near the base, according to court documents.” Booker also goes by the name Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, which might give a clue as to his motive. Indiana Pizza Parlor Reopens Without Fanfare

The Left, incensed that owners of Memories Pizza would decline to cater a same-sex wedding because of religious objections, tried to protest the pizza parlor serving a one traffic-light Indiana town out of existence. Due to the threats, Kevin O'Connor closed his shop for eight days. But he reopened April 9 to a full restaurant and not a protester in sight, according to the Associated Press. “I’d do the same thing again,” O'Connor told the AP. “It’s my belief. It’s our belief. It’s what we grew up on. I’m just sorry it comes to this because neither one of us dislike any of those people. I don’t hold any grudges.” During the time his business was shuttered, a producer from The Blaze created a fund for the pizza shop that collected over $800,000 in donations. So are the owners rolling in the dough? (‘Scuse the pun.) “It was really making us uncomfortable,” O'Connor said. After spending a bit on his pizza parlor, he’ll donate some of it to charity. Ease With Marxism Behind Diplomatic Thaw With Cuba

On one hand, Barack Obama’s face-to-face meeting with Cuban leader Raul Castro, which culminated in a handshake, was a failure. Before the meeting, Obama didn’t re-establish a U.S. embassy in Cuba, nor did he scrub the Pearl of the Antilles from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. But in his handshake with Castro, Obama extended goodwill towards Marxism. Furthermore, the two talked by phone ahead of their meeting and the State Department officially released its recommendation to no longer recognize Cuba as a sponsor of terrorism. Cuba was the only country on the short list that supported Marxist terror groups (the rest were countries like Iran that feed Islamic terrorism), which shows that some regard Marxism as no longer a threat. As we wrote back in December when the Obama administration first announced these deals with Cuba, “[T]he U.S. was in prime position to negotiate for human rights improvements in Cuba. Is Anybody 'Ready for Hillary’?

In perhaps the least surprising presidential campaign announcement of all time, Hillary Clinton declared her second bid for a second stint in the White House. It could be, however, that the only one “Ready for Hillary” is Hillary. Because it’s really her turn this time. Don’t screw it up, America.

Her quandary is simple: What do you do when you need to promote the notion that an individual is a “champion of the middle class” when that individual is the poster child of the celebrity governing elite?

You build a marketing campaign around the mirage with a tightly controlled, choreographed public-relations script. And you delete a few thousand emails along the way.

Hillary’s Sunday afternoon video announcement was characteristic of a weak candidate with enough unclaimed baggage to open an outlet store. After all, Hillary’s known for three things, none of which are her personal achievements: Her marriage to Bill, her corrupt influence peddling and her personal email server.

To adequately manage expectations of a hyped Clinton candidate who possesses none of the charisma and friendly persona of her husband, Team Hillary will have to be run very much like Sunday’s rollout — heavily scripted with surrogates on attack against any who dare challenge the machine.

But let’s face it: Hillary isn’t exactly facing stiff competition. Apologies to Martin O'Malley and Lincoln Chafee, two white guys in a party running away from white guys.

In vivid contrast to the announcements of Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, which featured exuberant crowds, upbeat music and soaring vision, the Clinton campaign was a sterile marketed message, plain and simple.

Through a 140-character social media platform, Twitter, and a two-minute video production, the message was, “Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion.” She followed with vignettes of “everyday Americans” who could do with a little help from Clinton.

One couple spoke of their move to access a better school. But that serves only to remind voters that Hillary is of the party opposed to school choice. If you can’t move, you’re stuck in a failing school.

In another shot of “everyday Americans,” two men strolling hand-in-hand down a street were said to have upcoming wedding nuptials. There was no mention, however, whether Christian bakeries, photographers or wedding planners would be coerced into service for the wedding arrangements.

Hillary’s voiceover proclaimed that “when America’s families are strong, America is strong.” Yet her party has done so much to dismantle and undermine the family through redefining marriage and 50 years of destructive “Great Society” wealth redistribution. Her party ensures single moms receive their government check and cheaper ObamaCare insurance while married couples are left paying a tax penalty.

But, remember, when you can’t package your authentic stances in a positive manner, you market an image with the help of a supporting cast of characters known as the presstitutes to parrot your hypocritical and deceptive talking points. Hillary is both being marketed and protected by the presstitutes who ably provided cover for Barack Obama through the years. After all, this gaggle serves as the unpaid communications staff to all things DNC.

Hillary Clinton has been first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state. Yet her campaign website looks more like a cross between a Lady’s Home Journal and an HGTV landing page — nice pictures with places to sign up and engage, but not a single issue stance.

Expect more of Sunday’s same for the next year and a half, as Hillary Clinton becomes the nominee for the intellectually bankrupt Democrat Party — a marketed mirage speaking to vacuous generalities.

Hillary will appear to be everywhere and accessible to all. In reality, she’ll be accessible only to her own champions and hiding from the unscripted world. But hey, if she wins, maybe she’ll return the silverware she stole when she left “dead broke” last time.

Yeah, About That Nuclear Deal…

Congressional Democrats began a coordinated attack last week against the effort to give Congress a say in the nuclear deal with Iran. Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) has proposed legislation that would make Congress, not the president, the deciding authority on whether or not to relieve sanctions against Iran, since those sanctions were put in place by Congress. Some Democrats are on board with Corker’s plan, but will they hold the line?

Colleges or Nursery Schools?

The University of Michigan is the latest American campus determined to prove that the central premise of higher education — the free and open exchange of competing ideas — is a cruel hoax. Last Tuesday, in a spasm of oh-so familiar political correctness, UM initially canceled a scheduled showing of “American Sniper” after 300 students and others whined about the “negative and misleading stereotypes” of Muslims portrayed in the film. As pathetic as that outburst was, the Center for Campus Involvement (CCI) that oversees student activities managed to top it, saying, “While our intent was to show a film, the impact of the content was harmful, and made students feel unsafe and unwelcome at our program.”

But wait, it actually got even more absurd.

President Obama shows great respect for Muslims and their holy days and even lectures us to do the same. And yet, a few days after another slaughter of Christians which Obama refused to acknowledge, Obama cavalierly chose the Christian high holy day of Easter to take yet another of his signature shots at Christians. Obama displays a hypersensitive respect for Islam while displaying little sensitivity or respect for Christians while claiming to be a Christian. The Bible says by their fruits ye shall know them.

At the Easter Prayer Breakfast, Obama accused Christians of not acting in love.

This Leftist trick (tactic) has worked on too many Christians for far too long.

Candidly, I found myself in church rolling my eyes listening to a sermon in which the pastor chided his congregation. His rebuke is the LGBT community does not like Christians because we are not loving enough to them. Most Christians I know are extremely tolerant and loving to homosexuals. I sat there thinking, “Brother, that's not what this is about. Obviously, you have not yet realized the Left's War on Christianity.” This “ain't” about homosexuals seeking acceptance. The Left's mission hidden in plain sight is to force their secular, liberal and anti-biblical agenda down our throats. Some say the Left has already won over a generation of our kids; hiBlackjacking their thinking starting in kindergarten with books like “Heather Has Two Mommies.”

Whenever Christians catch wind of the Left's stealthily orchestrated war on Christians and push back, the Left employs their you're-not-acting-in-love according to the teachings of Jesus tactic. Insidious and repulsive. These people who despise Jesus dare to reference His teachings to manipulate Christians.

The Left's narrative is love equals accepting someone just the way they are.

My brother said, “Love does not mean we should co-sign sin.” If your child is a thief, love does not require you to support their illegal behavior. Quite the opposite. Whom the Lord loves He chastens.

As I stated, far too many Christians are manipulated by the Left's love guilt-trip tactic. In the name of love, duped Christians are ignoring God's Word to adopt an anything goes mindset. The Bible says hate the sin, but love the sinner. The Left are highly enraged by this biblical command to Christians.

The Left demands that Christians enthusiastically rubber stamp anti-biblical behavior or risk being made an example of; humiliated in the mainstream media, sued and forced out of business. Hello, the Catholic nuns of Little Sisters of the Poor, Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-A, Sweet Cakes by Melissa, Arlene's Flowers and Gifts, Elane Photography, Mozilla CEO, the Benham brothers who lost their show on HGTV and Memories Pizza to name a few.

The Left's message is alarmingly loud and clear. To all who do not embrace our mission to kill babies and paint the mark of the homosexual rainbow over the door of your business, we will figuratively bury you.

Loyal to Obama, some black pastors now embrace same sex marriage. I heard a black minister scold his congregation. He preached that Obama is correct in embracing same sex marriage because he is president, not a Christian evangelist. A supposed man of God praising the president for siding against God's Word.

A black Christian minister friend strongly opposed same sex marriage. Desperate to make Obama good and his Christian opposition wrong, my friend changed. His excuse is you can not legislate behavior. He said his faith does not permit him to attend a homosexual wedding ceremony, but he would attend the homosexual wedding reception. I thought, “What do you say chatting with guests? Wasn't Harry a beautiful bride?“

Praise God! A coalition of over 3,700 black Christian ministers are pushing back against Obama and the Left's anti-biblical agenda.

Folks, please listen to this compelling interview on the Joe Miller radio show with John Zmirak. John articulates what the Left has been scheming under the radar of most Christians. Note that John once supported same sex marriage, but has come to realize that it is only the tip of the iceberg of the Left's scary anti-Christian agenda.

Bottom line, Christian's strategy of appeasing the Left is in essence allowing the fox to run rampant in the hen house; corrupting the minds of our kids via public schools, Hollywood and the media.

     (burtprelutsky.com) - When State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki was asked if the administration still believes the trade of five high-ranking jihadists for one Army deserter was a good deal, her blithe response was that we are still able to monitor their activities. When a follow-up question mentioned that three of the five have already attempted to rejoin their fellow terrorists in order to kill Americans, she actually said that proved that our attempts to monitor their activities have been successful. It was at that point my head exploded.

     But she is the least of our worries when you realize that even after our ambassador had to beat a hasty retreat out of Yemen and our Marines had to make good their last second getaway on civilian transport, after leaving their weapons behind, nObama continued to call Yemen one of his more notable successes. I suppose it qualifies if one also considers the Titanic, the Hindenburg and nObamaCare, success stories.

     ♦ Generally, when Democrats brag that they’re the ones with a sense of humor, pointing with pride to the likes of David Letterman, Bill Maher, Joy Behar and Jon Stewart, they only sound foolish. Unless you’re a registered Democrat, meaning that you are ready to laugh at any insult, no matter how lame, directed at Republicans, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything they say even slightly amusing.

     On the other hand, their politicians, and not just loose lip Joe Biden, are always cracking me up. Just recently, dinky Harry Reid, 75, announced that he won’t be running for re-election in 2016. We all know that the only reason that dinky Harry is retiring is because after being the majority leader of the Senate, the second most powerful man in Washington, it’s no fun at all being just another nObama sock puppet. But, proving that he hasn’t lost his fabulous sense of whimsy, dinky Reid announced that the reason he won’t be seeking a sixth term is because “I want to be able to go out at the top of my game.” I haven’t stopped laughing since.

     ♦ Speaking of 2016, Hilly Clinton’s staff has informed the media that they should refrain from using the following words and terms in referring to her campaign: “polarizing,” “calculating,” “disingenuous,” “insincere,” “ambitious,” “inevitable,” “entitled,” “over-confident,” “secretive,” “will do anything to win,” “representing the past” and “out of touch.”

     Because I try to be as chivalrous as the next guy – assuming the next guy isn’t Bill Clinton – I was wondering what words I could possibly still use in writing about her. But, then, I realized that they hadn’t banned “devious,” “cunning,” “cut-throat,” “nasty,” “Borgia-like,” “abusive,” “corrupt,” “vindictive,” “arrogant,” “snide,” “power-mad” and “reptilian,” and I realized I’d still be able to cover her campaign while abiding by her dictatorial edicts.

     ♦ On the subject of campaigns, we hear that a lot of women would vote for Republicans except they’re concerned that it would hasten the day that Roe v. Wade was over-turned. What they never explain is why after decades of sex education classes and a cornucopia of contraceptive pills and devices, abortions are still taking place in this country, and why that single issue should take precedence over national security, the economy, education, energy independence, a strong military and an abiding faith in the Constitution.

     ♦ For his part, Rand Paul seems to have based his entire campaign on the notion that only he can bring young voters into the GOP tent, but inasmuch as the singular attraction of a Paul presidency seems to be his willingness to legalize marijuana, they wouldn’t really be Republicans, they’d be stoners.

     ♦ On other fronts, the Justice Department’s "Operation Choke Point" is trying to put gun and ammo shops out of business by getting banks to shut down their accounts and refusing them business loans. By lumping those who legally sell firearms with telemarketers, home-based charities and loan sharks, Eric Holder’s storm troopers are pretending they’re only looking to go after those who engage in money laundering. And, naturally, we are being told that nObama, who has spent six years waging war on the Second Amendment, had nothing to do with it. It’s always just a providential coincidence with nObama, whether it involves Lois Lerner targeting the Tea Party or using Bowe Bergdahl to help him empty out Gitmo.

     ♦ When liberals bad-mouth America while praising left-wing sewers like Russia and Cuba, do they ever stop and ask themselves why so many people risk their lives trying to escape from paradise and so few, aside from fugitives like Edward Snowden and Assata Shakur (born JoAnne Byron), ever flee in the opposite direction?

     Another question they would do well to ask themselves is if it were the Palestinians, whom they seem to adore, as opposed to Israel’s Jews, whom they openly despise, that possessed a nuclear bomb, would they be equally reluctant to exterminate the enemy?

     ♦ As of this moment, I am still hearing a number of reasons being floated as the possible motive behind Andreas Lubitz’s crashing the jetliner in the French Alps.

     The two most popular seem to be a recurring depression that apparently failed to register with his employers at Lufthansa (which will be known as Losthansa once the lawsuits are finally paid off) and a possible breakup with an anonymous girlfriend. By this time, though, having seen numerous photos of Mr. Lubitz, my own theory is that he was a homosexual who either suffered from conflicted feelings about his orientation or, perhaps, had recently been dumped by a gay lover and been thrown into an emotional tailspin by feelings of heartbreak and abandonment.

     All I know is that the last time I saw anyone who was so obviously effete, it was convicted Army spy Chelsea Manning (born Bradley Manning).

     Whatever Lubitz’s motive may ultimately turn out to be, his murdering 149 innocent men, women and children, is the reason that I find myself more often hoping there’s a Hell than a Heaven.

     The way I see it, good people often get to experience a great deal of heaven right here on earth, but far too many villains seem to evade their just deserts, and one can only hope they will eventually pay the ultimate price.

The dictum that “war is the continuation of politics by other means” has never been so true as in the American Civil War. A political conflict over slavery sewn into the very soil from which the republic would grow proved too much for our system. After two generations of civic strife, war erupted in South Carolina on April 12, 1861. It would last until this date in 1865, with the surrender of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee at Appomattox Court House, Va. It was Palm Sunday in a tiny, dusty hamlet, unremarkable except for its railroad depot. Some 620,000 Americans had been killed in the previous four years. And it could fairly be said that their cause of death was political failure. That’s why the sesquicentennial of the end of the Civil War ought to be a somber moment for Americans today.
          We live with an increasingly failed political system and a society that shows deepening intolerance of the views of others. Public discourse of substance on any controversial topic is seemingly impossible. We are losing the tether. That’s not to say that we are on the brink of a new civil war, but it is undeniable that the path to national dissolution ran through hateful discourse and broken, insufficient politics.  Appomattox 101 -   Lee’s army had been on the run since the beginning of the month after it had been forced from its lines at Petersburg, Va. The once-fearsome force, a shell of its former self, was moving west to Appomattox to obtain a stockpile of desperately needed weapons and ammunition.  On April 7, Gen. Ulysses S. Grant wrote Lee prodding for surrender. “The results of the last week must convince you of the hopelessness of further resistance on the part of the Army of Northern Virginia,” Grant wrote.  He added that any further effusion of blood would be Lee’s responsibility. Lee did not yield, but did seek to find what conditions Grant would offer.
          On Apr. 8, Lee had plotted one final route of escape. After initial successes on April 9, he found himself trapped. It was then Lee knew what he had to do. He telegraphed Grant seeking a meeting to discuss surrender. Fittingly, but quite by happenstance, officers chose the home of Wilmer McLean, who had moved from Northern Virginia early in the war to escape the fighting, for the parley. Grant, still wearing a mud-spattered uniform, proved to be gracious and generous in his terms of surrender.  He permitted Confederate soldiers to keep their horses for the upcoming planting season. Officers were allowed to keep their side-arms and baggage.  After receiving parole, the Army of Northern Virginia was allowed to return home without any stigma of treason. Grant also provided rations for Lee’s starving men.

 HILLY’S LAUNCH DATE: WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? 
The cover of this week’s edition of The Economist asks “What does Hilly stand for?” If you don’t know by now, folks, you haven’t been paying attention. Presumptive Democratic nominee Hilly Clinton stands for winning, whatever the cost. She has paid dearly over the past 40 years, and is now closer than ever to the ultimate goal. But if she is to be undone – yet again – in her quest for power it will be her desire itself that does her in. There is an ocean’s worth of leaks pointing to this weekend as when the former first lady will make her candidacy a formal, legal fact. Saturday or Sunday? Twitter or Youtube? Iowa first or someplace else? Bubba or Baby Charlotte? The correct answer to these questions is: Whatevs. The only question that would have been helpful to Clinton – Will she or won’t she? – was never seriously in consideration. And in that, she has had a damaging failure.
           The presidency is like a bank loan or a first date: It’s much harder to get if it seems like you really need it. And compared to Clinton’s decades-long pursuit of power, Mitt Romney looks like a slacker. From the day she left the White House in 2001, she has been trying to get back in. But Clinton missed a chance over the past year to give Americans cause to think she might not really run. One could argue that the fault is not her own, since she has been forced to alter her schedule and modify her message in order to quell concerns from Democrats and deal directly with double-duty scandals. The time in which it would have been helpful for the former secretary of state to have been seen as actually undecided about running was consumed in recovering first from a dreadful book launch and then the stories of her family foundation’s sketchy dealings and then, worst of all, the secret servers. 
          But the fault ultimately lies with the candidate. The problem with the book launch was Clinton’s refusal to back down about being “dead broke” and the double-barreled scandals were the consequences of her own ethical lapses. But let’s be plain: The real reason Hilly couldn’t appear to be in doubt another run is that we have come to know her too well over the years. It’s true that Americans instinctively mistrust anyone too hungry for power, but it’s not like Clinton could just reinvent herself (though not for lack of trying). Instead, Clinton’s efforts to appear undecided sounded parodic.

If I told people they’d think me crazy, but the thought kept coming back: “Is President nObama trying to destroy the United States?” Is he a kind of Manchurian Candidate? That book’s main character, an American POW, was brainwashed by Chinese communists in Manchuria to reenter the US and assassinate a presidential candidate — thus enabling his running mate to take over as a dictator in the ensuing chaos. It was twice adapted to film and I watched both, but they were too far-fetched.

In February, former New York City Mayor and GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said, “I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America,” and set off a prolonged media firestorm. Progressives were outrageously outraged for days, and what Giuliani said was relatively mild compared to what I was thinking. Not loving our country might cause him to be unmotivated, but that’s not as bad as purposely destroying it.

     A week later, conservative columnist and New Hampshire resident Mark Steyn wrote:  “If nObama were working for the other side, what exactly would he be doing differently?” That’s been resonating in my brain ever since. nObama’s policies, have been ruinous. He’s nearly doubled our national debt to almost $18 trillion, and what do we have to show for it? He was going to rebuild our infrastructure with shovel-ready projects, but where are they? Hoover built a dam that still works. Roosevelt’s CCCs built the road through Evan’s Notch and the Kancamagus Highway here in Maine and New Hampshire, and many similar projects around the country. Yet after spending thousands of times more money than both those presidents put together, what can nObama point to? Nothing, and the economy still hasn’t recovered in the seventh year of his presidency.

In violation of the Constitution, he issued executive amnesty to five million illegal aliens who were already bankrupting hospitals, schools, and welfare programs across the country. Now they’re eligible for Social Security — which is going bankrupt already without millions more drawing checks. He’s using the EPA to destroy the coal industry in the name of human-caused “Climate Change” — the biggest pseudo-scientific fraud of the century. Next he’ll take over the entire energy industry if he’s allowed, and our emasculated Republican congressional “leaders” do nothing to stop him.

     It’s even worse overseas. nObama’s Middle East and North Africa policies are, in the words of his own former Middle East Ambassador James Jeffrey: “in a g*******d free fall.” Iran, the world’s biggest sponsor of international terrorism, orchestrated a million to chant “Death to America!” in its own capital, then gained control of four other capitals in the region including Sanaa, Baghdad, Damascus, and Beirut. Meanwhile, nObama’s Secretary of State Hanoi John Kerry is, in the words of our strongest ally in the region: “paving the way for Iran’s atomic bomb.” How’s Libya after his “leading from behind”? It’s a basket case. Yemen, which six months ago he called a success story, has collapsed. US forces beat a hasty retreat, leaving weapons and intelligence documents behind. Hanoi Kerry’s State Department advised US citizens stuck in Yemen to “call India” for help getting out. At a briefing, one reporter asked State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf: “…then you alerted them to opportunities to leave the country?” “Correct,” she responded. “What are those opportunities now? Swim?”

As news of another suspect foreign entanglement hits Presumptive Democratic nominee Hilly Clinton, a new survey shows how damaging the fallout from her scandal twin-bill of secret email servers and foreign buckraking have been. (Warren Mass) - U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in Brownsville gained nationwide attention when he issued an injunction on February 16 blocking President nObama's executive action to grant amnesty to four million illegal aliens...On Tuesday, he refused the administration's request to lift the injunction. However, the nObama administration’s Department of Justice, apparently anticipating that Hanen would deny their request to limit the injunction only to Texas, also filed an appeal with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.      After more than six years of listening to President nObama’s unremitting lies, when he says of the latest “accord” with Iran, “It’s a good deal” and standing in the Rose Garden declares that the U.S. and Iran have reached “an historic understanding” the only history being made his own ignominy and idiocy.
 
     It would be historic if anyone could extend either President nObama or the Iranians any trust. Indeed, since the U.S. created its first atomic bombs to end World War II, one nation after another has secured their own nuclear weapons, starting with the then-Soviet Union who built theirs with plans stolen from us!
 
     We have been down this road before. On April 1st Wall Street Journal columnist Daniel Henninger offered an abridged look at the quarter-century of negotiations with North Korea which agreed to all manner of terms, signed all kinds of agreements, and joined various international organizations to assure everyone of their peaceful intent. He warned that “No agreement is going to stop Iran. Agreements, and a lot of talk, did not stop North Korea.”
 
     “Iran,” said Henninger, “knows it has nuclear negotiators’ immunity: No matter how or when Iran debauches any agreement, the West, abjectly, will request—what else?—more talks. Iran’s nuclear bomb and ballistic missile programs will go forward as North Korea’s obviously did, no matter what.”
 
     All the back-and-forth between the White House and Congress about the “accord” is essentially meaningless. It is mostly a debate about the treaty-making powers the Constitution extends to the executive branch and, at the same time, limits with legislative “advice and consent” of the Senate. For now the Senate can only wait for whatever is decided by June 30, but it is unlikely nObama will send it the text of the agreement.
 
     To influence the outcome, Congress talks of the sanctions it has imposed on Iran and says it will impose again, but nObama has no legal authority to lift those sanctions, only Congress does.

     The same day the President made the announcement, Javad Zarif, the Iranian counterpart to Secretary of State Hanoi John Kerry made his own announcement. The U.S. and Iran, he said, had agreed in principle to let Iran continue running major portions of its nuclear program.  “None of those measures”, intended to slow Iran’s progress, “include closing any of our facilities. We will continue enriching; we will continue research and development.”

     This is the result of 18 months of “negotiations” with Iran. In the same way the U.S. caved to North Korea since the 1990s, it has caved to Iran and it has done so with the blessing of the European Union and the other members of the P-5+1, France, Great Britain, Russia, China, and Germany.
 
     For good measure, to show how wonderfully warm the relations between Iran and the U.S. are, within hours after nObama’s announcement, Foreign Minister Zarif accused the U.S. of lying about the details of the tentative framework—“the historic understanding”—saying that the U.S. had promised the immediate termination of sanctions.
 
     The notion that we would know if Iran was continuing its nuclear program because the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would be inspecting its facilities is about as credible as similar inspections in North Korea when, in 2002, it cut the IAEA seals on its nuclear factories and withdrew from the non-Proliferation treaty, starting a nuclear reactor. It has pursued its nuclear weapons and missile programs ever since.

     In the same fashion as the Soviet Union, China, and Israel, we didn’t know that either Pakistan or India had acquired nuclear capability until after they tested theirs. That’s how we will know when Iran has nuclear weapons. It already has intercontinental missiles with which to deliver them.

     As quoted in an April 3 article by Mark Dubowitz, executive director, and Annie Fixler, policy analyst, of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, they cite an unnamed “senior State Department official” as saying “The truth is, you can dwell on Yemen, or you can recognize that we’re one agreement away from a game-changing, legacy-setting nuclear accord on Iran that tackles what everyone agrees is the biggest threat to the region.” 
 
     Unless one believes in unicorns and other fantasies, this latest “accord” and what we are being told about it by the President and the State Department is not a great achievement. It is doomed to failure because Iran has had no intention of doing anything other than getting economic and other sanctions removed. Time is on their side as they work to develop their own nuclear weapons.
 
     When Iran tests its first nuclear weapon, nObama should return his Nobel Peace Prize.

 Will Boston Bomber Get Death Penalty?  
There never was a question of guilt. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's defense admitted as much on the first day of trial. Yesterday, the Boston jury handed down its decision: The 22-year-old who helped his brother plant pressure-cooker bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon in 2013 is guilty on all 30 counts. Seventeen of those charges are punishable by the death penalty. Now, the most important part of the trial begins — deciding whether Tsarnaev will get life in a federal prison or be executed. "This [bombing] reminds us, once again, that this is not ordinary crime, it's not even [an] ordinary enemy; these are people who are irredeemable," political analyst Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News. "Nonetheless, I personally generally oppose the death penalty with some exceptions. I would rather not make him a martyr. Let him serve all his life and contemplate his deeds for decades." For conservatives, it boils down to one question. Should jurors consider the effect Tsarnaev's death would have on radical Islamists looking for martyrdom, or should the punishment match the crime?

 SC Police Officer Charged With Murder Thanks to Video  
Thanks to a citizen who filmed an altercation between a South Carolina police officer and a motorist, Rule of Law is being upheld in the death of Walter Scott. On Saturday, Officer Michael Slager of the North Charleston Police Department stopped Scott because of a broken taillight. According to the initial police account, Scott grabbed the officer's Taser, and in the ensuing struggle Slager feared for his life and shot in self-defense. Officers then administered CPR, according to the police. But a video of the event that emerged earlier this week shows a vastly different story. Unlike the altercation in Ferguson between Officer Darren Wilson and Michael Brown, Scott turned and ran from the officer with what appeared to be the wires of the Taser trailing behind. Slager drew his gun, aimed at the fleeing man, and fired eight times. It appears the officer then planted the Taser next to Scott, and when other officers arrived on the scene, CPR was never given to him. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said at a news conference, "When you're wrong, you're wrong. If you make a bad decision, don't care if you're behind the shield or just a citizen on the street, you have to live by that decision."  With Iran Deal Crumbling, Pulosi Defends Negotiations  
Well that was fast. Before Barack nObama could finish his victory lap around the Rose Garden, Iran announced a couple red lines that could derail the whole nuclear deal crazy train. Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, said inspectors would not be allowed to photograph or film the country's nuclear sites, because it would endanger nuclear scientists. Then the country's Defense Minister, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan, said there were certain nuclear sites inspectors would be forbidden from entering. He said, "No such agreement has been made; principally speaking, visit to military centers is among our redlines and no such visit will be accepted." Meanwhile, Democrats and Republicans in the Senate alike are skeptical of Team nObama's negotiating prowess, as they are pushing a bill that says Congress must approve the Iran deal. But House Minority Leader Nancy Pulosi stands in their way. She insists the "legislation undermines these international negotiations and represents an unnecessary hurdle to achieving a strong, final agreement." Constitutionally, the Senate works with the president to make international treaties. What Congress does with the Iran deal isn't Pulosi's business.

VA Reform: Another nObama “Success Story”

     (freedomsback.com) - Eight months ago, President nObama put on a grand show for the troops. Surrounded by new Secretary of Veterans Affairs Bob McDonald, assorted politicians, military leaders and a bevy of TV cameras, the commander in chief signed the “Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act.” He’s good at inking things.

     nObama condemned the “inexcusable conduct” at VA hospitals across the country (and under his own watch).

     He vowed to “do right by all who served under our proud flag.” He promised America’s veterans new “reform,” “resources,” “timely care” and an end to the disgraceful disability backlog.

     The bill he signed, in case you’d forgotten, included $10 billion in emergency funding to pay for veterans to go outside the chronically dysfunctional VA system if they are facing long wait times or live 40 miles or more from a VA facility, plus another $6.3 billion to set up 27 new clinics and hire doctors, nurses and other medical staff.

     So, how’s it all working out? About as well as every other “success story” nObama has signed his name to: abysmally, ineffectually and incompetently.

     Take nObama’s hyped plan to expand health care access to those who live far from a VA facility. Obtuse federal bureaucrats interpreted “40 miles” in the narrowest way possible, applied an “as the crow flies” distance rule inconsistently, and excluded untold numbers of vets. It took more than a year — and concerted pressure from veterans groups and GOP lawmakers — for the administration to “clarify” its confused eligibility standards just two weeks ago.

     What about “accountability”? nObama bragged last August that “we’ve already taken the first steps to change the way the VA does business. We’ve held people accountable for misconduct. … We should have zero tolerance for that.” Looks like the VA bosses in Shreveport, La., didn’t get the memo. As Tori Richards of Watchdog.org reported last month, a mental health services worker who exposed use of a secret appointment waiting list there was ignored for a year. Instead of accountability for the wrongdoers, the VA employee who blew the whistle, Army vet Shea Wilkes, became the subject of a criminal investigation.

     And how’s that new facility construction campaign going? The VA’s atrocious complex has been a problem for decades under both Democratic and Republican administrations. Nothing’s changed under the era of hope and change.

     Here in Colorado, the new Aurora VA hospital has become another in a long line of government spending cesspools. The $600-million 184-bed facility is now estimated to cost at least $1.7 billion after a reckless parade of design changes, cost overruns and mismanagement — and may not be ready until 2017. “Accountability”? Pfffft. The head of the VA’s Office of Acquisition, Logistics and Construction responsible for the waste was allowed to resign with a full federal pension and retention of nearly $60,000 in bonuses earned during the fiasco.

     In Colorado Springs, a sparkling new “cutting edge” VA outpatient clinic opened last year on the promise of reducing wait times. But according to the Colorado Springs Gazette, “11.5 percent of veteran appointments for care in Colorado Springs are delayed by 30 days or more,” which is “up from 7 percent” before the $10-million facility opened.

     What’s next? You know the drill: more congressional hearings, more grandstanding, another “reform” campaign, more posturing in front of cameras, and more screwed-over vets.

     Throwing more money and platitudes at the VA to cover up its deadly scandals is a bipartisan Beltway recipe for failure. Recently retired Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., one of the few to object to last year’s kabuki “VA reform,” was right. “The culture is one of looking good, protecting those in the VA and not protecting our veterans,” he said at the time. “You have to have a bill that fixes that. I don’t believe this is going to do it.”

Mission not accomplished.

 IN STITCHES: BOOK COMPLICATES HILLY’S LAUNCH 
A new book by former White House reporter Kate Anderson Brower dishes the dirt on Bill and Hilly Clinton’s time in the White House. Appearing on “The Kelly File,” the author of “The Residence: Inside the Private World of The White House,” told Megyn Kelly, “The rumor was she threw a book at him after an argument. One of the staffers was called up to the bedroom and saw blood on the bed.”  Bower shared how intense the scrutiny was of staffers and how many of the maids sided with the former first lady adding, “she had the president sleeping on the sofa.”  The book chronicles how  Bubba “insisted that he’d hurt himself running into the bathroom door in the middle of the night.”  “But not everyone was convinced. ‘We’re pretty sure she clocked him with a book,’ one worker said. … The incident came shortly after the president’s affair with a White House intern became public knowledge … And there were at least twenty books on the bedside table … including the Bible.”
          ‘I love lamp’ - White House Florist Ronn Payne recalls one particularly feisty exchange in another passage, “He was coming up the service elevator … as the Clintons argued viciously with each other. … [H]e heard the first lady bellow ‘goddamn bastard!’ at the president - and then he heard someone throw a heavy object across the room,” Brower related. “The rumor among the staff was that she threw a lamp. The butlers, Payne said, were told to clean up the mess. In an interview with Barbara Walters, Mrs. Clinton made light of the story … ‘I have a pretty good arm … If I’d thrown a lamp at somebody, I think you would have known about it.’ … ‘You heard so much foul language’ in the Clinton White House, [Payne] said. …”  
          Yikes - From a book except provided to Politico: “One day, according to Payne, he was walking through the second-floor private kitchen when an agent walked in behind him waiting to escort Chelsea to Sidwell Friends, the private school she attended in northwest Washington. Chelsea was on the phone. ‘Oh, I’ve got to go,’ she told her friend. ‘The pigs are here.’ The agent turned ‘crimson,’ Payne recalls. ‘Ms. Clinton, I want to tell you something. My job is to stand between you, your family, and a bullet. Do you understand?’ She replied: ‘Well, that’s what my mother and father call you.’”
          The man behind the curtain - Former President Bill Clinton opened up about his role in his wife’s campaign, telling Town and Country Magazine, “My role should primarily be as a backstage adviser to her until we get much, much closer to the election.” Bubba offered insight on Hilly’s approach this time around adding, “I think it’s important, and Hilly does too, that she go out there as if she’s never run for anything before and establish her connection with the voters.” -Fox News  
 
 GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE IN CULTURE WAR 
Just as Indiana’s controversial religious freedom law offered the first litmus test of the cycle for the GOP field, the next test is another thorny social issue. AP: “Kansas on Tuesday became the first state in the country to ban a second-term abortion procedure and redefine it as ‘dismemberment’ of a fetus.  Gov. Sam Brownback, a Republican, signed the measure in a private ceremony. The law takes effect in July and is based on a draft measure by the National Right to Life Committee.” Similar measures are near passage in Oklahoma, while others are being considered in Missouri, South Carolina and South Dakota.  -Fox News

Saurage got the animal after a landowner in nearby Groves called about an aggressive alligator in a rural pond where children swim. Saurage went to the swampy site to rope and remove the male alligator, which he estimates is 35 to 40 years old.      (burtprelutsky.com) - I realize that there are actually some people outside John McCain’s immediate family who regard him as a statesman. They've come to that silly conclusion based on the fact that he loved adding his name to legislation proposed by the abominable likes of Russ Feingold and Ted Kennedy. He referred to it as reaching across the aisle, no doubt picturing himself as God on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, reaching down from a heavenly cloud to give life to Adam.

     Unfortunately, as biologist Richard Dawkins has observed, “When two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie halfway between them. It is possible one side is simply wrong.”

     These days, that’s not just possible, it’s just about guaranteed, which is why people like Mitch McCon-nell and backstabber John Boehner shouldn’t even think about accommodating Democrats. It’s a poker game with marked cards, and the Republicans will not only lose their shirts, pants and underwear, but they will be written off as traitors by those who elected them.

     ♦ Heck, even I would like to pass myself off as open-minded by occasionally being able to agree with liberals about something, about anything. But whether the topic is the criminal justice system, affirmative action, gun control, taxes, labor unions, energy, education, the FCC, the EPA, Vladimir Putin, ISIS, Israel or Iran, they are simply wrong on every issue. As a result, the only way I could pass myself off as fair-minded would be to prove that I, too, am certifiably insane.

     Or, as Barry Goldwater summed it up half a century ago: “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” But even back then, the liberals were able to spin those words into something vile, as if they had been spoken by Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini.

     ♦ If you’ve been paying attention to world affairs recently, you will notice a great many leaders on the world stage who seem to be taunting the American voter, reminding us that we really didn’t have to settle for Barack nObama. First and foremost, there was Benjamin Netanyahu addressing Congress and showing us what a real man looks and sounds like. And in case we may have forgotten, that would be a leader who doesn’t hide behind professional liars like Jen Psaki, Marie Harf and Josh Earnest, and who doesn’t limit his interviews to late night comics, partisan hacks or the ludicrous likes of GloZell Green and her tub of Froot Loops.

     But there was also President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, a Muslim, confronting an assembly of Egyptian mullahs, and challenging them to speak out against the butchers whom we’re always being told have hijacked true Islam.

     Even the president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani Ahmadtzai, on his recent visit to Washington, expressed gratitude to America for not only the sacrifices of the military, but those of the American taxpayer, on behalf of his nation. One can play the cynic and point out he was over here begging that 9,800 American soldiers be left in Afghanistan to help him ward off the Taliban. But nobody in public life is as cynical as Barack nObama, and I have never heard him sound the slightest bit sincere when praising the military and, God knows, he has never thanked the millions of us he has saddled with an additional eight trillion dollars of debt.

     ♦ Speaking of liars, do you think by this time that Susan Rice tosses and turns at night, wondering what she’ll next be required to lie about. First, she took one for the team by going out on five Sunday morning news shows to lie about a video being the cause of the Benghazi massacre. Then she had to choke back the bile and insist that Bowe Bergdahl had “served with honor and distinction” in Afghanistan. What’s next for poor Susie? Will she be called upon to assure Michelle nObama that the new dress doesn’t make her butt look big?

     ♦ In other news, Rep. Aaron Schock has been forced to resign from Congress over a series of financial misdeeds. I was not the least bit surprised once I discovered that Schock, a Republican from Illinois, was given to posing bare chested for photos in order to show off his six-pack abs. Back when Anthony Weiner first got into trouble and I discovered that he also had photogenic abs, I immediately knew the bum was guilty of something disgustingly tacky.

     Politicians are a scurvy bunch at the best of times, but when you come across those who look like they’d be at home on the covers of gay magazines, you know they’ve been spending way too much time in the House gym and probably in the House showers.

     Please write this down so you don’t forget it: Politicians are supposed to look like Charles Rangel or Charles Schumer and never like Charles Atlas.

     ♦ Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for – the results of the latest Prelutsky Poll, which asked you to name your favorite and least favorite radio talk show host.

     There were a few surprises. Perhaps the biggest one was how many people are hosting these shows. In all, there were 26 favorites and 29 least favorites. Of the 26, 14 received only a single vote; of the 29, 18 received just the one vote. So if you happened to mention any of those 32, I can assure you I wrote their name down, but I was the only person besides you who did. I suspect those were hosts who lacked the notoriety that goes with national syndication.

     The resounding favorite of the 292 voters was Rush Limbaugh, with 98 votes. He was followed by Mark Levin, 60; Dennis Prager, 36; Mark Steyn, 16; Michael Savage, 16; and Laura Ingraham, 14. Those who received four votes were Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Lars Larsen, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt and Andrew Wilkow.

     The lead for the least favorite host went back and forth between Sean Hannity and Michael Savage, but in the end Hannity edged out Savage 66-58. Alan Colmes came in third with 22 votes; followed by Glenn Beck, 20; Mark Levin, 18; Rush Limbaugh, 14; Mike Gallagher, 10; Bill Handel, 8; Hugh Hewitt, 6; Laura Ingraham and Dennis Miller, three each.

     ♦ Recently, in my constant pursuit of the truth about charities, I urged dog lovers to forget about ever donating to the Humane Society of the United States, which is so corrupt, the Justice Department should be pursuing an indictment, and probably would be if Eric Holder weren’t otherwise occupied waging war on America’s police departments.

     I suggested that donations should be sent to Paws and Stripes, which trains service dogs for our injured veterans. Another deserving group is the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind.

Obama’s Mocking of Religion is a Trap

We are seeing this on nearly a daily basis and the new Indiana law is nothing more than the cause du jour for the left. From Al, ‘the reverend’ Sharpton’s buffoonish quote, “This is a key moment for the country. Too often in our history, we’ve seen religion used to justify attacks on other people’s rights, from slavery, to Jim Crow, to women’s right to vote,” likening religious freedom and slavery AND  to Obama’s chastising of Christians on Easter Sunday…“On Easter, I do reflect on the fact that as a Christian, I’m supposed to love, and I have to say that sometimes when I listen to less-than-loving expressions by Christians, I get concerned, but that’s a topic for another day.”

Liberals are quick to condemn religion and to sue over any visage of religion seen in public and they are just as quick to stand up for a freedom FROM religion rather than take up for the Founders and Framers in their vision that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” but to be fair…it is only the second part of THAT statement that lights their delicate, easily offended sensibilities on fire.

So what IS it about religion that liberals find so damn distasteful anyway?
