U.S. officials privately advise states fearing Trump election meddling. Their private efforts have reached governors, election stewards and lawmakers from both parties who are increasingly alarmed that the administration may interfere in the midterms!-Posted on The Washington Post-By Noah Robertson-On October 20, 2026:

A small group of U.S. national security officials has been discreetly advising state governments and congressional lawmakers on how to prepare for the possibility that the Trump administration will attempt to interfere in November’s midterm elections, according to people involved in the effort.

The group includes about 10 current and former officials with experience in the Defense Department, some of whom have previously focused on countering authoritarianism abroad.

Their efforts are motivated not by political bias, they say, but a growing sense of alarm that President Donald Trump will harm American democracy by undermining the integrity of the vote to keep the Republican Party in power.

Over the past several months, the group has consulted with officials from 10 states, including governors, election officials and members of the House and Senate from both political parties who share a fear of federal intervention, two people involved in the effort said.

The effort, which has not been previously reported, focuses on states and jurisdictions where tightly contested races will determine control of Congress for the remainder of Trump’s presidency. Members of the group remain in contact with congressional staffs, and at least one state has continued to meet with them as it works to address potential vulnerabilities.

“All of them have said we’re concerned but we don’t know what to do,” one member of the group said of its meetings with lawmakers.

“The outcome that we hope for is that states would be prepared for any contingencies should they arise,” the person continued.

This report is based on interviews, conducted over several months, with two officials involved in the effort. They spoke on the condition of anonymity and that the lawmakers and state leaders with whom the group has met not be identified either, for fear of retaliation. The Washington Post also reviewed some of the documents the group prepared for its meetings.

Trump has long claimed that a “deep state” of government officials is working to undermine his presidency. Since returning to office, he has undertaken an expansive effort to fire career civil servants and solicit political loyalty from the bureaucracy.

Lauren Bis, a White House spokesperson, dismissed the group’s concerns and blamed Democrats for not supporting stricter election laws.

The Trump administration, she said in a statement, “is taking decisive action to protect our elections including prosecuting election crimes, strengthening election infrastructure security, and protecting vulnerable voters from fraud and coercion.”

The president, Bis added, “is making clear that anyone who illegally votes in our elections will be held accountable.”

In their discussions ahead of the midterms, the national security officials have detailed ways the Trump administration could use its federal powers to sway the upcoming vote, covering categories that include legal and illegal activity. Among their concerns are that the administration could deploy troops or immigration agents to polling stations or seek to nullify results based on claims of voter fraud.

Their meetings with lawmakers have mainly focused on raising awareness, especially among Republicans, of the potential for interference and on counseling them to be prepared to publicly oppose any such efforts. With state governments, they’ve focused more on how to harden election protocols that could be exploited by the federal government, the two members of the group said.

Their warnings are based on personal analysis of the administration’s activities and public statements made by the president and his allies — not access to specific government intelligence or information to which they have access because of their positions within federal agencies, members of the group said. They described the meetings as a way to help state and federal officials secure the election and emphasized that their work has occurred outside of their official capacity as government employees.

Still, their efforts indicate an extraordinary level of concern that Trump may use his authority to influence the election or challenge the results, similar to his extended campaign to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election that culminated with a raid on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump’s approval rating is at record lows only weeks ahead of the Nov. 3 midterms, with voters frustrated about the cost of living and the war in Iran. Democrats appear likely to flip the House and possibly the Senate, and have vowed to intensify oversight of the administration if they regain power.

Election officials, including some Republicans, have decried efforts by the Trump administration to assert federal control over a process that the Constitution entrusts to the states. Some GOP-led states, such as Utah, have refused to comply with the administration’s efforts to access their voter rolls.

“The threats that we’re getting now are mostly from our own government,” Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson told The Post earlier this month.

In January, the FBI raided an election office in Fulton County, Georgia, and seized voting materials in an investigation tied to Trump’s debunked claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. Trump told the New York Times in an interview earlier this year that he regretted not having the National Guard seize voting machines during that race.

As he has campaigned on behalf of Republicans, Trump has repeated his claims about the 2020 election and that Democrats are attempting mass voter fraud ahead of the midterms. In October, a group of nongovernmental organizations sued the administration, alleging that it unlawfully collected voting data from 47 states.

Throughout the year, he has unsuccessfully urged Congress to pass an election security bill — the SAVE America Act — that would give the federal government more authority over the voting process. The GOP-controlled Senate has not done so, as passing the bill would require ending the chamber’s 60-vote threshold known as the filibuster.

Trump and some of his top Cabinet officials also have declined to rule out the possibility that they will send members of the military or immigration agents to polling stations, alarming Democrats.

During a combative Senate Armed Services Committee hearing in late April, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was asked whether he would refuse a presidential order to deploy troops to the polls or to collect voting machines. He dismissed the question, posed by Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Michigan), as a “hypothetical.”

When the committee’s Republican chairman, Sen. Roger Wicker (Mississippi), urged Hegseth to provide a response, the secretary said, “I’ve never been ordered to do anything illegal, and I won’t.”

In August, Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote to Slotkin and said that there were no plans to deploy troops to the polls or seize voting records.

The Pentagon did not respond to a request for comment.

In September, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin declined to rule out the possibility of deploying immigration agents to the polls. Speaking to reporters, Mullin said that they would appear only if there were “specific threats” and that such agents wouldn’t “patrol” voting sites.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement “is not planning operations targeting polling locations” and would only do so if an “active public safety threat endangered a polling location.”

At other times, Trump and other senior officials have attempted to use the powers of their office to sway voters to support Republicans. The president has promised voters a $5,000 reward if the GOP maintains its majority in Congress, and he has used taxpayer money to air campaign-style ads ahead of the midterms.

The precautions some states are taking against potential federal interference in the midterms signal a radical departure from the threats that state governments normally focus on in an election year. Foreign actors such as China and Russia have long sought to influence or disrupt U.S. elections, and continue to do so ahead of the November midterms, the U.S. intelligence community has assessed.

Tammy Patrick, the chief program officer at the National Association of Election Officials, said that over the past year the possibility of federal interference has become the dominant concern of election officials she has spoken to around the country.

State and local officials, for example, have been rehearsing how to respond if a federal agent appears at a polling place to compel access to ballots or voting machines, she said.

Other officials, Patrick said, have been concerned about moves the Trump administration has already taken.

Since returning to office, Trump has pressured states, such as Indiana and Texas, to redraw their congressional maps to favor Republicans. His administration has also asked the Supreme Court to limit the availability of mail-in voting, a request the court has rejected.

“All of these things,” Patrick said, “are being done in the open.”

The sour, bitter face of our enemy is the face of the chubby girl who always tried to get between you and her hot roommate — except instead of a double-bagger trying to block your shot, she’s now a Democrat trying to condemn you to serfdom. It’s the same face you see worn by malignant amphibians like Elissa Slotkin (D-CIA), a particularly loathsome creature who trumpets her time at the Central Intelligence Agency to establish her phony USA! USA! bona fides. This comes at the same time she supports a Jew-hating communist to be her co-senator who is, at minimum, a slobbering affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood. Whether her flex is calculated or stupid is a puzzlement; does she think she’s exploiting him instead of being exploited herself? It is useful to remember how the Iranian mullahs took power and then immediately shot all their erstwhile leftist allies. Regardless, they deserve each other; we don’t deserve either.

When fascism comes to America, it will come from the left, because the left is where fascism comes from. It will come in the form of a Democrat, a Democrat who pretends to be patriotic and points to her résumé as if it’s proof. And it will be dressed like an HR director at a mid-tier company in a second-tier town.

Lying is a sacred obligation of Muslim fanatics and some CIA veterans. Oh, not all of them. Some have done outstanding service. You rarely meet those. With few exceptions, my experience with the Agency has been distinctly negative. In Kosovo, the only thing the CIA contributed was keeping the Pristina bar scene alive. The new hit TV series Lioness features super-competent CIA operatives pulling off complex missions and being based. This is why they call it “fiction.” The real ones pulling the triggers tend to be pretty cool. The rest of them? They’d fit in nicely at the rear of the bell curve at your local DMV. There’s a reason the best book about the CIA ever is called Legacy of Ashes.

But just because they’re generally incompetent doesn’t mean they are not dangerous. Sadly, they’re less dangerous to America’s enemies than to Americans themselves. Take the aforementioned Slotkin, please. Recently, she decided to disgrace herself even more than she did when she joined with the useless blue falcon Mark Kelly to encourage American soldiers to disobey orders if there was a Republican administration in charge. This time, she felt comfortable on a liberal panel explaining that she intended to prosecute Republicans working for the Trump administration to deter future young Republicans from going into public service.

 Let me repeat that.

Now, you don’t have to believe me. You can believe her, at least in this case. Here’s what she said, straight from the donkey’s mouth: “So that’s what I’m saying, and not just focus on the president. I want young people coming out of school to say, ‘Should I go work for the Trump administration?’ [Like, that sounds fun.] I might get an opportunity that might be buying myself a ton of problems, and so let me avoid participating in that. I want that deterrence message s- [sent].”

Slotkin, understanding how her audience usually consists of either liars or mental defectives, immediately fell back on her CIA reflexes and denied that she said what everybody heard her say, adding a garnish of phony outrage. Nobody believed her denial, but that didn’t matter because it wasn’t really a denial. She’s aggressively for persecuting her political opponents so that they won’t participate in politics. What she was trying to do was change the subject so that normal people don’t become outraged by it. But boy, were conservatives ever outraged, and justifiably so. The original tweet, including the incriminating video that first exposed her plot led to her being nuked by conservatives, including senators, pundits, and regular folks, pointing out that this is absolutely unacceptable. And that’s good. We aren’t accepting it. We can’t, not if we want this to remain a free country.

The CIA has dabbled in toppling foreign governments for decades, which I don’t have a problem with. They’re foreigners. But it looks like the CIA’s lefty alums are trying to dabble in toppling this one, including trying to criminalize opposition to the nanny state socialist Borg of which Slotkin is merely a hard-four functionary. Now, the plan to try to not only take revenge on Republicans for daring to assert their right to govern themselves, but to ensure that we are permanently disenfranchised going forward is, like most of the CIA’s secrets, barely a secret at all. You just have to listen to them talk when you don’t think they are listening.

And it gets worse. It isn’t just Slotkin plotting. The incredible @DataRepublican has documented a massive conspiracy involving communist agitators working with former government officials, including USAID creeps, loser retired generals and, of course, unemployed spooks to foment their own color revolution here in America. These fools don’t understand that the color of any revolution they and Slotkin attempt to incite will be red.

The question is what to do about it. We can do nothing, and the result will be eternal serfdom. I don’t know about you, but I’m too old to bend my knees, especially to these ridiculous mediocrities. I have no intention of being anything but a free American citizen, speaking freely, worshiping as I wish, writing what I want, and having enough guns to start and finish World War III if someone wants to step up. So, what do we do about this?

First, we expose it. We talk about it. We understand it. But most importantly, we accept it. We accept the fact that there are significant numbers of senior members of the political class who are eagerly seeking to implement a dictatorship which will strip us of our rights as Americans if they are not stopped. Think about what Slotkin said. She wants to put people in jail – without any consideration of whether they actually committed any crime or not – in order to scare citizens of the other party away from participating in their own government. She thinks this is a good thing to do. She wants to do it. And until a spotlight got thrown on it by a social media platform that was no longer covering for her faction, she was happy to talk about it. She’s not ashamed she got caught. She doesn’t think she did anything wrong. Like the rest of the daddy-issue revolutionaries, she's excited by the opportunity to rule.

And don’t think she’d stop at just threatening you — her ilk would kill you as soon as look at you. We saw what they did to Charlie Kirk. We saw what they tried to do to Donald Trump. And that leads to our second important thing to do.

Buy guns and ammunition.

See, what she and her friends want to do is launch an information campaign that will convince us not to do things we want to do. That’s because they currently can’t do it by force. They want to achieve that capability down the road. But for now, all they can do is talk us into submission. Information campaigns can work, but only up to a point. At the end of the day, true power comes not by convincing someone to do something with words. It comes by convincing someone to do something at the point of a bayonet, and if they don’t do it, by shoving that bayonet in their guts.

Elissa Slotkin and her friends don’t have the bayonets. They certainly want them. That’s why they tried to turn the US military into a petri dish of bizarre social pathologies whose leaders they controlled so that they could turn real weapons against real people. And that’s why they hate Pete Hegseth so much — he stopped the transformation of the military into the armed wing of the Democrat Party and back into a real military worthy of a free country.

Similarly, that’s why they go so nuts about guns. The fact that we citizens have guns means we have the ultimate veto over illegitimate government actions. We can say “No,” as long as we can back it up with our AR-15s.

But is this talk of rising up against tyranny a bit overwrought? Well, we’re nowhere near there. That brings us to the next thing we need to do, which is vote. We can keep these aspiring hitlers out of office if we show up at the ballot box. After you had this US senator say that she wanted to basically outlaw the Republican Party, do you really think sitting out the midterms because your gas is a little more expensive from defeating the Iranians after 50 years is a good plan?

Be woke to what these people want to do. Expose it. Talk about it. Point it out. The American people are not with them. The American people instinctively know that the kind of fascist crap Elissa Slotkin and her friends support is a betrayal of our Constitution. Vote like you want to preserve your freedom. Don’t allow yourself to be blackpilled into authorizing your own oppression. And finally, exercise your Second Amendment rights, because 400 million firearms are one hell of a significant fact on the ground standing between us and tyranny.

Make no mistake about it. What Elissa Slotkin and her friends want is tyranny. We know because she just told us.

The Washington Post ran a story this week about “A small group of US national security officials...discreetly advising state and congressional lawmakers on how to prepare for the possibility that the Trump administration will attempt to interfere in the midterms.”

Other media have run headlines warning that “Trump is about to interfere and impose martial law.”

This propaganda is not just another attack on the GOP and Trump, it’s helping lay the foundation for a “revolution,” another coup attempt, craftily planned and carefully plotted to happen between now and January 3 by the enemies inside our gates.

The enemies are led by a group of 1,600 former federal officials calling themselves the National Security Leaders of America. They’ve devised a plan to take down the country through a Progressive revolution that removes Trump, arrests GOP officials, and installs state governors to temporarily rule the nation until “legitimacy” is restored under a whole new Constitution.

That’s right, a rerun of the 2016 Democrat coup attempt—but this time they’re much better prepared. The leaders envision:

• Sowing seeds of doubt suggesting the election is fraudulent and allege the results are illegitimate
• Generating massive civil unrest, and when Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, call his administration illegitimate
• Slowing the process of seating new senators and congressmen post election, and calling the Trump administration illegitimate because of the delay.

If it sounds a little funky, and not ready for prime time, wait until you meet the administrators of this unhinged revolution!

Meet the Nuts and Dolts

The people behind the coup attempt are former government insiders like Danielle Reiff (USAID) and Rear Admiral Michael E. Smith (Ret.) who leads the 1,600 insurgents under the umbrella group National Security Leaders for America.

Reiff appears to coordinate the efforts across all platforms, while Smith directs the military appeal to disobey President Trump’s orders. Another vocal revolutionary is Dr. Paul Zeitz (Renew American Democracy, NSLA, R2T), who has devised the restructuring plan.

Videos, audio clips, and documents obtained by Data Republican and published on X give us a front-row seat to observe the revolutionaries, their tools, and tactics.

Color Revolution Destination USA

Here’s a synopsis of the plan as it was described in August:

1. Wage a CIA-style “color revolution” in the USA—running the same play the CIA and State Department have used dozens of times to topple unfriendly foreign governments.
2. Activate hundreds of Democrat “charities” to ignite the revolution. These “blocking communities” coordinate with Democrat leadership to deploy and arm protestors, pay the ringleaders, and supply lawyers and funds to spring them out of jail.
3. Force Trump to impose marital law—or invoke the Insurrection Act. This becomes the “breakdown moment.” Democrat governors agree to refuse to cooperate with Trump’s deployment of the National Guard.
4. The governors have been told to game this exact scenario (the “memo”). They’ll reach out to foreign governments on behalf of the USA and act as governing authorities while the new structure is implemented.
5. The new federal government has no Senate, a Supreme Court with 15 justices selected by lottery, and a triune presidency made up of three co-equal persons serving six-year terms. A two-thirds major of these presidents determines US policy.

Timeline

Reiff plans to depose Trump sometime before January 3, 2027, when the new (Democrat) Congress is sworn in. She laughs about having a “day after tomorrow” plan to remake the system, which is displayed below in the diagram created by Paul Zeitz. Note the date at the top—by 2029.

Useful Idiots

The foundation is being laid by current and former Democrat politicians who accuse Trump and his associates of planning to steal the midterms. They frequently threaten to throw Republicans in jail once they take over.

Like Romans 2:1, they are accusing the GOP of what they are already doing.

Let’s start with Washington Governor Bob Ferguson. He has offered to deploy the National Guard to polling places on Election Day to prevent any “federal overreach” or “intimidation.” Keep in mind that Trump’s DOJ has filed a lawsuit against California, where 20,000 illegals on the voter rolls received a mail-in ballot. Trump is trying to block these ballots from being counted.

• Former CIA agent and current US Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is one of the first to go public, promising to prosecute Trump officials as soon as Democrats take over.

• Slotkin said she would pursue “signature cases” and make examples of them because they lacked immunity. She also accused Trump of preparing to rig the outcome of the midterms by plotting a national security crisis.

• Susan Rice (above), former Obama Advisor, threatened to hold those who are loyal to President Trump accountable. Democrats are not going to “play by the old rules,” she warns. They are going to use the law to persecute donors and supporters.

Helping them set the stage is a willing media, like the WaPo, Axios, and this gem of a journalist, Kara Swisher. She warned that Elon Musk would have been jailed under a President Kamala. She said Musk “has a very big sense of fate. And I think it’s coming for him. And real hard.”

Why this Matters: The whiners and complainers who are fed up with the GOP and the Trump presidency should stop to appreciate the wins. Fraudsters are being caught and prosecuted and the money drain is slowed, but the minute Democrats return to power, you can be sure the fraudsters will be back.

Here are just some of the wins announced this week:

• 160,000 deceased individuals have been removed from food stamp rolls.
• 275,000 noncitizens were removed from Social Security.
• 562,000 allegedly fraudulent small business loans were uncovered—$260.7 billion in fraud has been discovered across all programs.
• State Louise Lucas (D-VA) was indicted for racketeering and drug trafficking.
• Jennifer Gonzalez, a US citizen who acted as a matchmaker to arrange 100s of sham marriages to obtain citizenship was arrested. She charged $38,000-40,000 per customer.
• Vice President JD Vance’s anti-fraud task force is set to bring criminal charges against 40+ people accused of a $40 million food stamp scam, another $1.6 billion healthcare fraud in Los Angeles—10 people were arrested.
• A federal lawsuit was filed against California alleging that nearly 30 percent of noncitizens in California have a voting history.

Christians and conservatives MUST WIN in November and put the GOP in charge of the House and Senate, or we lose our country.

How to Pray: Wisdom for those hunting down the fraudsters, protection for ICE and all law enforcement. Pray for the continued exposure of the tactics and playbook of the enemy, Satan, who is working through arrogant, greedy mankind.
