Sure, Americans may have voted for the Democrats because they were promised lower banana prices. If they get them, it won’t be from the Democrats, or at least not through any effort of their own.
But cheer up, USA: You now have the gayest Congress ever, trans men can use the women’s bathroom in the Capitol now, and top Democrats are celebrating the fact that DEI is back, baby!
That wasn’t on the agenda, but you’re happy, right? Say right or else we’re going to tell your employer and get you canceled.
Yes, it didn’t take long for the “we told you so” evidence to emerge.
Sure, a few disciplined Democrats were out there talking about amorphous policies regarding affordability. A lot more were already talking impeachment — it didn’t matter who, or for what, or whether or not they could convict. Verdict in the media first, trial in the Senate second, rationale for the charges third. Lewis Carroll would be proud.
At the very least, the rush to call for impeachment was predictable.
If nothing else, the Democrats have been consistent in being a party full of Trix Rabbits constantly chasing the box of cereal and getting stymied no matter what the latest ruse is. Less predictable was the fact that — just months after AOC’s infamous declaration that “Woke 1 was crazy” seemed to bring an end to the public-facing cringe-tastic struggle sessions of the early 2020s — they didn’t even bother trotting out Woke 2, but just went straight on back to Woke 1.
Exhibit A: This post from the Congressional Equality Caucus, which was roundly mocked but still emblematic of where we’re headed the next two years:

I’m not taking the bait on any “gayest Congress in American history jokes,” except to point out that this doesn’t reduce prices anywhere but in maternity shops on Capitol Hill. However, it did raise an interesting question regarding two of the more prominent members of the new Congress:

Oh, and thank ye heavens, Rep. Sarah McBride — a Delaware Democrat male formerly known as Tim — will be able to use the women’s bathroom in the Capitol, according to reports:

You’re going to be paying less for groceries all because McBride can use whatever bathroom he wants.
And it’s not just rainbow-hued wokeness that’s back, either. Open discrimination in the name of diversity, equity, and inclusion is back, too, to hear California Rep. Ro Khanna tell it:

“I love this America!” Khanna exclaimed. Apparently, he doesn’t like other Americas.
Considering he’s a dark-horse candidate for president in 2028, that might otherwise be worrying — but considering who else got elected Tuesday, it’ll get lost in the mix.
The point is, valuing and rewarding someone for their race or religion or who they choose to engage in sexual relations with is back with a vengeance, and Khanna seems to want to take this beyond the ballot box and back to the boardrooms.
And if companies didn’t get the message on that front, let Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland spell it out by explicitly saying the Democrats will go after any company deemed to have worked with the Trump administration, which is a coded way of saying they’re coming after you if you ditched DEI:

Look, at some level I get it. For the overwhelming nature of the victory on Tuesday for the Democrats, the mood — once the party had subsided — was a bit like Robert Redford in “The Candidate,” asking his campaign strategist after his win, “What do we do now?”
Like Redford’s character, the Democrats abandoned anything resembling substance in pursuit of a victory, and they got it, all right. But what now?
“Affordability” requires working with Republicans and the White House — which they’re not going to do, since “bipartisanship” is a phrase that’s aged like “AOL dialup.”
“Accountability” involves a bunch of loud House Oversight Committee hearings where junior members screech over each other, which isn’t any different from when the Republicans controlled Congress, although now the libs can subpoena some top administration officials to watch them all look stupid.
Everything else will be vetoed, and you’ll probably see a few pointless government shutdowns.
However, these people got elected in part by embracing that “Woke 1 is crazy” tagline. And what came of it? They didn’t even bother upgrading to Woke 2.0.
This is straight-up Woke 1 stuff. It’s like the end of a “Scooby-Doo” episode, where the gang pulls the mask off the Affordability Ghost: “Zoinks! It’s old man Dylan Mulvaney!”
And they would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling voters. Oh, wait. They did.

- The Democratic Socialists of America gained influence in the Democratic Party.
- Their agenda includes government-run healthcare and trans rights.
- The DSA now has the largest number of socialists in Congress in U.S. history.
The Democratic Socialists of America made its mark on the Democratic Party on Tuesday and is now preparing to flex that power in Congress.
Six candidates backed by the DSA won House seats and are plotting a path to passing the organization’s historically far-left agenda, which includes government-run healthcare, transgender rights, abolition of illegal immigration enforcement, a 32-hour workweek, elimination of fossil fuels, taxation of wealth and an end to U.S. military aid to Israel.
“With the largest number of socialists in Congress in U.S. history, we are ready to make their demands a reality,” the DSA’s national headquarters declared after the election.
DSA-backed House candidates triumphed in New York — where they two won seats — as well as Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania and California.
In Maine, Troy Jackson, who had been endorsed by the state chapter of the DSA during his gubernatorial bid, won the Senate race.
Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed, who won the Senate race and distanced himself from the DSA during his campaign, is backing many DSA-endorsed proposals, including “Medicare for All” and the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The socialist newcomers will join DSA-backed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Michigan Democrat, as well as Sen. Bernard Sanders, Vermont independent, who shares many of their policy goals.
The group of official DSA House lawmakers will make up just a small fraction of the anticipated 255-member House Democratic Caucus and 56-member Senate Democratic Caucus.
Their agenda, however, will receive plenty of support.
It closely aligns with the nearly 100-member far-left House Progressive Caucus and several far-left Senate lawmakers, especially on universal healthcare, which appears to be the top issue the DSA wants to advance.
More than half of all current House Democrats have signed on to the Medicare for All Act introduced by Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal, Washington Democrat.
In the Senate, more than a third of the Democratic Caucus has co-sponsored Mr. Sanders’ companion measure to replace private insurance with government-run healthcare.
“Our No. 1 responsibility has to make sure that we get Medicare for All ready as legislation, so that in ‘29, when we have the House, the Senate and the White House, we can sign it into law on Day 1,” said DSA-backed Melat Kiros, an Ethiopian immigrant and lawyer who won Colorado’s 1st Congressional District seat.
Ms. Kiros’ agenda, like the other DSA winners, would extend the government’s reach far beyond healthcare. She campaigned on passing a transgender bill of rights guaranteeing “access to gender-affirming care for all ages.” She also proposed transitioning to a zero-emissions energy grid, implementing a “holistic approach” to public safety and providing government-funded “long-term housing for all,” free childcare and “federally supported” elder care.
Like most other Democrats in the House, she would pay for it all by raising taxes.
A government-run healthcare program alone would cost more than $47 trillion over a decade, the White House Council of Economic Advisers estimated in October.
The DSA’s agenda would expand government programs far beyond healthcare.
DSA-backed Angela Gonzales-Torres won a seat in Congress representing part of Los Angeles. She said her illegal immigrant father was deported and plans to push to abolish ICE after she is sworn into office in January.
Ms. Gonzales-Torres is gearing up to push for a federal spending spree that pays for family and sick leave, childcare and housing.
She ran on a plan to launch a guaranteed basic income, beginning with a pilot program for thousands living in her district.
The plan would provide “direct, unconditional monthly payments” funded through “progressive taxation” and “public-private partnerships.”
The pilot program would aim to expand monthly government checks nationwide.
The DSA-backed freshmen also have their sights set on overhauling the criminal justice system.
Donavan McKinney, the DSA-endorsed Democrat who won Michigan’s 13th Congressional District with 77% of the vote, said he plans to do all he can to “transform” the criminal justice system to reduce incarceration rates. He wants to end cash bail, making it easier for those charged with crimes to go free pending trial.
Mr. McKinney said he backs changing sentencing guidelines to shorten incarceration and ending qualified immunity that shields police officers from prosecution.
Mr. McKinney held a rally and canvass event in August with Hasan Piker, a divisive far-left streamer with 3 million followers on Twitch. Mr. Piker blamed the United States for the Sept. 11 terrorist attack, declared he hates America and once called for killing landlords and conservatives.
Mr. Piker, a self-identified socialist and Marxist, campaigned for Mr. El-Sayed and Rep. Ilhan Omar, Minnesota Democrat, who is under federal investigation for suspected immigration fraud.
On Wednesday, Mr. Piker celebrated big wins for the DSA and far left.
“It’s just beginning,” Mr. Piker gloated in his postelection livestream. “The tears of our enemies will be the delicious nectar of victory. And we haven’t even seen them cry yet.”

In the political arena, true conservatives face a temperamental disadvantage. After all, most of us simply want to be left alone.
By contrast, devoted leftists crave power over other people’s lives. In fact, without that power, they struggle to find meaning in their own existence.
With that in mind, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, a candidate for Speaker of the House in the upcoming Democrat-dominated Congress of 2027-29, already faces strong opposition from fellow Democrats who regard him as insufficiently leftist.
Fresh off a thorough and predictable trouncing of Republicans in the 2026 midterms, Jeffries appeared to be riding high until the leftist website change.org published a petition calling on incoming Democrat legislators to choose a different House Speaker.
“We believe the Speaker should represent the Democratic voters, not just the Democratic establishment,” the petition read.
Tellingly, the petition also solicited alternative candidates.
“To Democratic members of The House of Representatives: If you believe you can better represent the priorities of the Democratic voters, now is the time to put your name forward,” the petition read.
As of Thursday afternoon, more than 668,000 people had signed the petition.
Of course, the fact that the petitioners had to beg other candidates to come forward bodes poorly for them.
“Jeffries is well-positioned to lead House Democrats next term,” Politico noted on Wednesday after Jeffries signaled his candidacy. “Although an incoming crop of hard-left members has not committed to backing him for speaker, no alternative candidate has emerged, and the size of the Democratic majority appears likely to make a small group of holdouts irrelevant.”
Still, Jeffries cannot rest comfortably in the face of a day-old petition that already has well over half a million signatures.
Indeed, throughout 2026, Democrat voters have proven that they will buck their party’s establishment wing.
For instance, after the Democratic Socialists of America swept the party’s New York primaries in June, congressional Republicans trolled Jeffries, for they recognized the stunning socialist victory as a defeat for the establishment-aligned House minority leader.
Continued funding for Israel, which Jeffries supports, constitutes one of the major issues separating socialists from establishment Democrats.
On balance, of course, Democrat in-fighting benefits all Americans, for it prevents Democrats from implementing their terrible ideas.
Likewise, Republicans can still count on President Donald Trump, who has already embraced the nickname “Mr. Veto.”
In the broadest sense, however, leftist opposition to Jeffries reflects an age-old truth: Namely, leftists have an appetite for power that conservatives lack.
We saw it during the COVID era, when leftists cheered the enforcement of draconian lockdowns and mandates. We saw it again when they ghoulishly celebrated the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In each instance, their fangs practically dripped with blood as they savored the submission and destruction of their perceived enemies.
Now, only time will tell whether Jeffries survives their increasingly organized and formidable opposition to him.

A player for the Toronto Blue Jays, a Canadian baseball team, is facing public cancellation for telling the truth about the election of Democratic jihadist sympathizer Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed of Michigan.
In since-deleted videos published to Instagram, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander zeroed in on El-Sayed’s disturbing Muslim beliefs.
“The first video, shared from the account ‘@theamericantruthproject,’ claimed that all Muslims elected to office on Tuesday are radicals who want to impose Sharia law in the U.S. Congress,” according to blogTO, a Canadian digital media site.
“The second video featured a Christian minister who described Islam as ‘violent’ and ‘driven by war,’” blogTO’s report continued. “The minister went on to say that Islam is not peaceful and that there is ‘no such thing as kind Muslims.’”

The videos weren’t wrong.
A Rasmussen poll conducted just months earlier found that 75 percent of likely U.S. Muslim voters hold a positive view of Sharia law.
That’s not an “Islamophobic” conspiracy theory — it’s a fact. So is El-Sayed’s documented personal “obligation” to abide by Sharia law.
Yet these facts haven’t stopped leftists, including those in the shameless media, from attacking Santander for committing a supposed crime.
“Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander shared Islamophobic posts on his Instagram story Wednesday,” The Athletic, a publication of The New York Times, complained in a supposed report filed Thursday.
USA Today also kvetched about Santander’s supposedly “Islamophobic content.”
So did sports “journalists” like Liam LaChapelle-Yonson.

The complaints managed to reach the Blue Jays, who responded by distancing themselves from the star player and touting their so-called “inclusion.”
“Baseball is for everyone, and the Blue Jays have created an inclusive experience where all fans feel welcome at our ballpark,” they told The Athletic in a statement. “Individual comments do not represent our organization’s values and beliefs.”
Except the Blue Jays don’t really believe in inclusion, because if they did, they’d include those who speak the truth about Islam, not to mention “transgender” madness.
The team has a history of punishing players — including former relief pitcher Anthony Bass and former outfielder Kevin Pillar — for making “anti-LGBTQ+ remarks.”
In Bass’s case, all he did was share a video to social media that called for Christians to boycott Target and Bud Light over their “transgender” advocacy. For that, he was outright fired.
Let’s be real here, folks. The Blue Jays don’t believe in inclusion. Neither do The New York Times, USA Today, or anybody else complaining about Santander’s completely justified social media posts.
What the Blue Jays care about is fitting into mainstream culture — a culture that’s been wrecked and degraded by rising degeneracy, heathenism, and ignorance.
There was once a time when you could tell the truth about virtually anything, including Islam, without facing public attacks and cancellation. But thanks to the rise of the radical left, it appears those days are no more.
