Never Forget That When America Was Fighting Iran, The Legacy Media Was Rooting for Tehran!-Posted on The Western Journal-By Johnathan Jones-On March 12, 2026:

If you opened the homepage Thursday morning at almost any legacy media outlet, you probably noticed something about the narrative.

Maybe you didn’t spot a lie or an outright fabrication.

But there was a subtle and very deliberate message leading the coverage, and that message was that America’s attacks against Iran have been an unmitigated disaster.

The Democratic Party’s disinformation wing — the people who call themselves journalists — has perfected its storytelling technique over the years.

To be fair, these people rarely lie directly (unless they work for CNN).

Instead, they weave a background story that is designed to make the reader feel exactly the way they want them to feel about their own country. It is relentless.

Let’s look at a few of the headlines that greeted readers Thursday morning:

The Washington Post reported, “Iranian school was on U.S. target list, may have been mistaken as military site.”

CNN ran the headline, “Analysis: How the Middle East war could spark a recession.”

ABC News told readers, “Pentagon blocks photographers from Hegseth’s briefings on the Iran war.”

CBS News published, “Iran won’t surrender ‘in a million years,’ analyst says, warning regime could push for nuclear weapons.”

NBC News led with “First 6 days of Iran war cost $11.3 billion, Pentagon tells Congress.”

Do you see the pattern? There is nothing inherently false in any of these headlines, nor in the reporting itself. Reading through these articles, I was inclined to trust the information as it was presented.

It looks entirely possible that an errant U.S. missile struck a school in Tehran, and I would not disagree that President Donald Trump’s 13-day engagement against the homicidal regime in Tehran is expensive.

Using the military is always expensive and can be tragic.

And let’s be honest, no matter what the White House calls it, this is a war. It is war because Iran has been at war with the American people for decades.

If you were born after 1979, Iran has been at war with you for your entire life, whether you liked it or not.

That probably includes most of the people who wrote Thursday’s headlines or organized them into the order they were presented.

The Democratic Party’s disinformation wing cannot bring itself to frame the conflict any other way than to kill hope.

These people’s party is not in power, so all they can do is spotlight the Trump administration’s perceived miscues, amplify the price tag, and elevate every possible narrative about American recklessness or incompetence.

Meanwhile, the regime that has spent decades threatening Americans, sponsoring terrorism, and chasing nuclear weapons is relegated to an almost benign background character.

You might read this as a complaint about the coverage and accuse me of throwing a fit because reporters are telling stories I don’t like, which isn’t true.

The stories above are each relevant and probably accurate, and there is a place for them.

But anyone who has watched these people operate for long enough knows exactly what is happening, and that is that the media is hitting angles of this conflict with Iran in ways they wouldn’t be if a Democrat had made the call to take out the ayatollah.

These are the people who were dismissive of Benghazi and shrugged at the insanity of Fast and Furious.

These people treated former President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal of troops from Iran that killed 13 Americans as something the country should politely move on from.

These people did not panic when foreign fraudsters were lining their pockets for years in Minnesota and elsewhere.

Many didn’t lose any sleep over the costs when Biden imported tens of millions of foreign nationals to cities all over the U.S.

The legacy media definitely didn’t treat the autopen presidency as the constitutional emergency it was.

But suddenly, every dollar spent and every American misstep in this war is being highlighted, and it is not because the leftist media machine cares about human life or budgets.

Maybe the pattern is obvious to me because I have worked with people like the ones who wrote those headlines and organized those homepages.

I have worked in mainstream media and done the work from their side.

The homepages at ABC, CNN, NBC, and the rest are canvases for a relentless narrative campaign telling you everything is bad, chaos rules, and the people running the country are incompetent.

Much of the legacy media is quietly rooting for Iran. Many of these people are frothing at the mouth for Americans to come home in body bags because it would further their cause.

That is not because these people particularly admire the regime in Tehran.

It’s because these people hate Donald Trump more than they love anything or anyone else.

Remember whose side these people were on the next time the Democratic Party’s communications wing suddenly claims to have uncovered the next great GOP scandal.

This war will end, and the media will quietly side against Trump on whatever problem he tackles next. This time, they just happen to be rooting for Iran.

Before the U.S. and Israel opened a war on Iran, the Islamic republic had waged a nearly 50-year campaign of global terrorism that has killed thousands, including at least 995 U.S. servicemen, military personnel and other Americans.

Beginning with taking hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979, Iran’s campaign of terror included as many as 360 targeted assassinations, dozens of terrorist plots and violent attacks in more than 40 countries.

Iran-backed militias are responsible for killing at least 603 U.S. troops during the Iraq War from 2003 to 2011. U.S. officials say those deaths accounted for roughly 1 in 6 U.S. combat fatalities in the country.

Iran funds and provides weapons such as attack drones and ballistic missiles to military groups in the region, known as the “Axis of Resistance.” Their purpose is to carry out Iran’s anti-American, anti-Israel terrorist agenda. The group includes Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis in Yemen and Shiite militia in Iraq.

According to the White House, Iran has killed more Americans than any other terrorist regime. Iran has twice attempted to assassinate President Trump.

After hundreds of attacks and nearly 1,000 American deaths, the United States is on the verge of ending the regime’s “blood-soaked war” on the United States, Mr. Trump said.

Matthew Levitt, senior fellow and director of the Reinhard Program on Counterterrorism and Intelligence at the Washington Institute, said an intact Islamist regime is unlikely to pull back from its holy war.

“Iran sees terrorism as an extension of foreign policy — an asymmetric means of reaching its adversaries beyond its borders despite their military superiority.”

These incidents are just part of Iran’s terrorism around the world:

• November 1979: The U.S. Embassy in Tehran was seized by regime-backed students who held 66 Americans hostage, 52 of whom were held for 444 days. A botched U.S. rescue mission killed eight U.S. troops.
• April 1983: Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad terrorists, associated with Hezbollah, drove a half-ton pickup truck carrying 2,000 pounds of explosives in front of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. The blast killed 63 people, among them 17 Americans.
• October 1983: Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists detonated a truck bomb carrying 12,000 pounds of TNT in front of a U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut. The blast killed  241 U.S. military personnel, including 220 U.S. Marines, 18 sailors and three soldiers. An additional 13 people later died as a result of their injuries. Another 115 people were wounded.
• March 1984: Islamic Jihad kidnapped William F. Buckley, the CIA station chief in Beirut. Buckley was held hostage, tortured and executed by Hezbollah.
• April 1984: Hezbollah took credit for detonating a car bomb at a restaurant near the U.S. Air Force base in Torrejon, Spain, killing 18 U.S. servicemen.
• September 1984: Hezbollah terrorists detonated a car bomb at the U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut, killing 23 people, including two U.S. military personnel.
• December 1984: Hezbollah terrorists hijacked a Kuwait Airways flight and tortured and killed two American officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
• June 1985: Hezbollah hijacked TWA Flight 847 en route to Athens and Rome and forced the plane to land in Beirut. Hijackers fatally shot U.S. Navy Diver Robert Stethem and dumped his body onto the airport tarmac.
• June 1996: Hezbollah terrorists bombed a U.S. Air Force housing complex in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 U.S. airmen and wounding 500 people.
• August 1998: Al Qaeda suicide bombers backed by Hezbollah bombed embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. The blasts killed 224 people, among them 12 Americans.
• August 2001: An Iran-backed Hamas suicide bomber blew up a pizza restaurant in downtown Jerusalem. The blast killed 16 people, including seven children and a pregnant woman. More than 130 were wounded. Three Americans were killed in the explosion.
• July 2002: Iran-backed Hamas terrorists bombed Hebrew University in Jerusalem, killing nine people, including five Americans, and injuring nearly 100 others.
• June 2003: Hamas suicide bomber detonated explosives on a bus in Jerusalem, killing 17 people, including an American.
• March 2007: Former FBI Agent Robert Levinson was abducted by Iranian intelligence officials and is thought to have died in an Iranian prison.
• July 2014: Hamas terrorists killed two Americans serving in the Israel Defense Forces.
• January 2020: An Iranian ballistic missile attack on the Ain-al-Asad air base in Iraq caused traumatic brain injuries in 109 U.S. troops.
• September 2022: An Iranian rocket attack in Iraqi Kurdistan killed an American citizen.
• March 2023:An Iranian drone struck a military base in Syria, killing an American contractor and wounding five U.S. troops.
• Oct. 7, 2023: Hamas attacked Israel, killing nearly 2,000 civilians and Israeli security forces, wounding 3,400 people and kidnapping 251 soldiers and civilians. At least 48 Americans were killed and a dozen kidnapped.
• October 2023 to November 2024: Iran and its proxies waged more than 180 attacks on U.S. forces in the Middle East, killing three American service members and injuring more than 180 others.
• July 2024: Pakistani nationals with ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were arrested for trying to recruit people to assassinate Mr. Trump.
• November 2024: Farhad Shakeri, an Iranian national and IRGC asset, was charged with plotting to assassinate Mr. Trump. Shakari, who remained in Iran, was killed this month in a U.S. military strike.
• June 2025: Iran-backed militias attacked three U.S. bases in Syria and two U.S. bases in Iraq after U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites.

If one of your national slogans is “Death to America,” you should be living in persistent and paralyzing fear of the United States.

Say what you will about President Donald Trump, America’s enemies aren’t making any more demands after Operation Epic Fury. Not after the president shattered nearly five decades of Washington foreign policy appeasing, legitimizing and emboldening the Iranian regime, one of our most enduring and dangerous enemies.

Trump has already reset American foreign policy by rejecting both the technocratic naivety of neoconservatism and the unfeasible demands of isolationism. He has also shed the convoluted, pseudointellectual foreign policy theories that had congealed as conventional Washington wisdom.

One of the bogus “norms” propagated by experts, and now “America First” isolationists, is that any military action needs to be contingent on short-term “imminent” threats against the U.S.

Why should the U.S. sit around until the breaking point to act in our interests? This is a self-applied, short-sighted limitation. It’s almost surely the case that the landscape would have been far more dangerous had Trump allowed the regime to regain its footing after months of protests and Israel’s summer offensive. Trump struck the regime when it was at its weakest, before it could stockpile enough ballistic missiles and advanced weaponry to create a quagmire.

Preemptively eliminating long-term threats is a way to mitigate harm against the U.S. Iran could have agreed to stop enrichment at any time in the past 47 days, or even 47 years, and avoided conflict. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff claims that the regime’s negotiators in Geneva bragged that they controlled 460 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium for 11 nuclear bombs.

Trump now has clear, achievable objectives: Ensure the mullahs don’t get their blood-stained hands on any nukes, end the regime’s ballistic missile capabilities, and destroy the Iranian navy so it can’t threaten world shipping.

There are also unstated goals. The U.S. acted to undermine Chinese military expansion into the Middle East. China was about to sell Iran supersonic missiles that would have allowed it to target the American military. The clerics pay for military upgrades in oil. Nearly all of Iran’s crude exports already go to China, virtually its only consumer. As with removing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, weakening the mullahs weakens China.

Another bogus “norm” of the past decades was famously summed up by Secretary of State Colin Powell, who warned then-President George W. Bush before the 2003 Iraq invasion: “You break it, you own it.” The “Pottery Barn rule” contends that the U.S. has a responsibility to reconstruct countries after having beaten them. Sometimes it benefits us to participate in rebuilding projects to create stability, and sometimes it doesn’t. The U.S. can break Iran’s nuclear and military capabilities and its internal repression machine. It is under no obligation to clean it up.

Over the years, the Washington foreign policy blob has convinced many people that the U.S. has a duty to marshal a large contingent of nations before acting — namely, weak-kneed European countries with significant Muslim populations who offer little military value. Similarly, some people are under the impression that the U.S. needs permission from the United Nations, a bastion of strongmen, theocrats and fascists, to act. It does not.

“International law” has done little but hamper our ability to alleviate threats while allowing our enemies to act with impunity.

On the other hand, before Trump, U.S. administrations have refused to openly operate with our most-trusted ally, Israel, in militarily dismantling the Iranian threat. The idea was that Israel’s presence would undermine support from the Arab world. It’s in our interests to embrace Israel’s tech, intel, and military swagger and competence. “Capable partners are good partners,” War Secretary Pete Hegseth said of Israel, “unlike so many of our traditional allies who wring their hands and clutch their pearls, hemming and hawing about the use of force.”

Moreover, we’re not living in 1973 anymore. The beneficiaries of Israel’s operation in Iran have also been Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, all of whom joined the Americans in denouncing the regime.

Making predictions about the outcome of war in the Middle East is foolish. But the unknown shouldn’t paralyze us, either. The best-case scenario for Operation Epic Fury is an organic uprising by Iranians that transforms that nation into a nonhostile entity that ceases exporting terrorism and Islamic fanaticism around the world. In the worst-case scenario, a weak, rump Islamic Republic survives.

Right now, no matter what happens, the clerics are gelded. That alone is a win.

While we're enjoying (hopefully) a relaxing Saturday here in these United States, our Air Force and Navy aviators, along with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), have been busy carrying out the ongoing deconstruction of the theocratic regime in Iran. They are solving this problem with a suitable application of high explosives, and it looks like the USA and Israel are busy letting the mullahs know that President Trump wasn't kidding around when he promised, on Friday, to hit them even harder.

Missiles rained on Iran Saturday after President Trump warned that the nation could face “complete destruction and certain death.”

The US and Israeli strikes centered on Tehran’s regime targets, such as military capabilities, leadership and nuclear program, as well as the sprawling Mehrabad International Airport.

Footage shared on social media captured a massive fireball and plumes of black smoke billowing from the airport, which housed the headquarters for Iran’s national carrier.

Is this the big hit President Trump promised? It sure looks like a lot of regime loyalists are having a very bad day. 

An Israeli attack destroyed 16 Iranian military aircraft that were being used by the Quds Force – the elite wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — to send weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the IDF said.

The IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) was using the airport as a “central hub for arming and funding” Iran’s proxies in the Middle East, the IDF claimed, adding that it also targeted several Iranian fighter jets.

Trump promised early Saturday that “Iran will be hit very hard,” and that the US was seeking new military targets to pressure the nation into submission.

“Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran’s bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Iran, however, is apparently still chucking ordnance around at random neighbors, despite their non-apology.

Iran retaliated with its own series of strikes on neighboring nations — despite an apology issued by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for the ongoing attacks, suggesting Tehran’s political leadership could not exercise full command over the armed forces.

Note that last sentence: What's left of the political/religious leadership in Tehran may have lost control of what's left of Iran's military capacity. That could be good news, and it could be bad news. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has control of Iran's ballistic missiles, and the IRGC has been getting hit very, very hard by American and Israeli sorties alike; it wouldn't be at all surprising if they were a bit peeved about that. But every missile they fire, every drone they launch, is one less they have - meanwhile, the United States has kicked munitions production into high gear. That's something American industry has, historically, been pretty good at.

This all could be the sign of a regime coming apart. Or it could be a sign that the IRGC intends to dig in and fight to the last man, which, candidly, isn't exactly inconsistent with their death-cult ideology.

The New York Post also released some before-and-after satellite imagery, showing very vividly how these problems have been resolved with, again, the suitable application of high explosives.

Donald Trump Is a Great Man of History. Trump has met the moment and risen to the occasion in numerous foreign theaters!-Posted on The Patriot Post-By Josh Hammer-On March 6, 2026:

Most students of history have likely pondered the question: Is it the times that make the man, or is it the man that makes the times? The question, though superficially intriguing, seems to have an easy enough answer: Sometimes it is the times that makes the man, and sometimes it is the man that makes the times. Rarest of all is the man who is both summoned and elevated by the times, on the one hand, and who has the courage and conviction to shape the times in return, on the other hand. It is this lattermost group of men who we might refer to as the truly great men of history.

Donald Trump is, on this metric, a great man of history.

In 2016, Trump was first swept into office, just a few months after the Brexit referendum in the UK, amid a broader wave of nationalist backlash to the regnant neoliberal global order. Trump, a lifelong free-trade skeptic with New York City outer-borough sensibilities, was the right man to lead at the right moment. He became the first president since Richard Nixon’s fateful trip to visit Chairman Mao in Beijing to begin decoupling the U.S. from its economic bear hug with the Chinese Communist Party. More recently, Trump has overseen a historic securing of America’s porous southern border and an equally historic withdrawal from dozens of transnational institutions.

Trump has met the moment and risen to the occasion in numerous foreign theaters besides China and the broader Indo-Pacific as well. He saw decades of American malaise, managed decline and overextended empire, and he has promptly reversed course.

Trump and his administration have repeatedly proven willing and unafraid to criticize America’s European allies, nudging our core NATO partners to be better versions of themselves in such areas as military spending and defense self-sufficiency. He has responded to decades of buildup of murderous transnational nonstate cartels and Chinese and Russian entrenchment in our own hemisphere by reasserting the Latin America-centric Monroe Doctrine, as most spectacularly evidenced by January’s Operation Absolute Resolve extraction of fugitive Nicolas Maduro in Caracas.

And now there is the unfolding Operation Epic Fury in Iran.

For 47 years, Iran’s revolutionary Shiite theocracy has been attempting to kill, and indeed killing, Americans. From the U.S. Marine Corps barracks in Beirut in 1983 to the Bush-era roadside IEDs in Iraq to the attempted (and indicted) assassination of Trump himself, the mullah regime in Tehran has a long and bloody track record when it comes to American loss of life — more than 1,000 Americans killed in total, according to U.S. Central Command. For decades, presidents kicked the can down the road, appeasing and negotiating with the mullahs as if they were atheistic Soviets and not 72 virgins-aspiring apocalyptic Islamists. The mullahs dissembled and stalled, while racing toward nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles on which to mount them.

And then Trump came along.

Trump campaigned on ending so-called forever wars in the Middle East. His critics, both on the Left and in certain pockets of the impotent Right, have accused Trump of violating that promise with the current campaign. But those critics are wrong. Iran has been at war with us, whether or not we think about it and acknowledge it, since the founding of the revolutionary regime in 1979. The revolutionaries’ very first action was to storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran and commence a 444-day hostage crisis. Tehran’s “death to America” chants since then have been daily, and its anti-American atrocities have been legion.

With Operation Epic Fury, Trump isn’t starting a new forever war — he is ending one.

Time and again, Trump has shown that he is willing to take actions that U.S. presidents of both parties long paid lip service to support but never actually effectuated. The notion that the world’s most zealous Islamist regime cannot acquire the world’s most dangerous weapons had been spoken so many times by so many different politicians over the decades that it had become old hat. No one actually acted on it until Trump tore up Barack Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal in 2018 and bombed key Iranian nuclear facilities during Operation Midnight Hammer in 2025. Now, with Operation Epic Fury, Trump is attempting to finish the job and permanently ensure that Iran no longer threatens American interests.

God bless him for it.

The polling on Operation Epic Fury is mixed — predictably, it’s split largely along partisan lines. But I strongly suspect Trump does not care in the slightest about the polling. Great men of history do not put a finger in the wind before deciding to take a seismic, world-altering action. They don’t read the polls; they read the times and allow the rising tides of zeitgeist to elevate them to their better, most dynamic selves. And they have the corresponding vision and determination to shape the times for the better, in return. The American national interest will be improved by seeing the current mission in Iran through. So too will the broader condition of the Middle East — and, for that matter, the whole world.

The skeptics may shriek loudly. Let them do so. Because for Trump, a drastically improved national — and regional and global — outlook is more than justification enough. Just as it is for all great men of history.

But countries that were, not so long ago, implacable enemies of Israel have not just made their peace with the existence of the Jewish state, but (almost) openly allied with it both economically and militarily.

It would be a mistake to assume that the implicit alliance with Israel began with Operation Epic Fury or Israel's Roaring Lion. Everybody knows that Iran has attacked a range of Arab countries with its retaliatory strikes, so it makes sense that these Arab countries would join in the hostilities in one way or another without regard to Israel's participation. 

But actually, that's not true. During the 12-day war last year, several Arab countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, went out of their way to provide air defense assets to Israel. 

It wasn't highly advertised, of course, but they were there when it counted. 

Which brings up an interesting thought: is the "Arab Street," that almost mythical sense of what the masses in Muslim countries, not quite so implacably hostile to Israel anymore? After all, we haven't seen mass uprisings or protests against allying with the Great Satan or the Little Satan; in fact, Sunni Muslims seem to hate Shiites more than Jews. 

Arab countries have been proscribing the Muslim Brotherhood, tamping down the rhetoric, and exposing their economies to a very vibrant and modern Israeli economy.

Twenty-five years ago, it would have been shocking to imagine we have reached a point where Islamists are more welcome in the UK or France than in most Middle East countries, but there it is. 

All of this has happened under Trump, first with the Abraham Accords, and now with strong leadership that gives Arab leaders a strong sense that they are betting on a winner. 

The regime in Tehran sought to expand the battlefield to apply pressure. Instead, it consolidated the moderate camp. Countries that were conflicted, divided or neutral suddenly found themselves on the same side as Israel. For them, Iran is no longer a distant enemy; it is a home-front enemy.

This is a strategic opportunity for the U.S. and Israel. Iran’s attack exposed the vulnerability of the region’s traditional security structure. It demonstrated that there is no longer room for strategic neutrality. In the face of ballistic missiles and long-range drones, diplomatic condemnations aren’t enough. A permanent, coordinated mechanism is required, a true regional defense system.

The Abraham Alliance would be a military and political watershed, serving three functions:

• An alliance based on diplomatic peace as well as shared defense against Iran and its proxies.
• An alliance that includes the U.S., Israel and the other countries that have experienced or that fear exposure to an Iranian threat.
• A permanent security cooperation mechanism that can operate as a kind of regional North Atlantic Treaty Organization, integrating intelligence, interception, operational coordination and joint deterrence.

Establishing the alliance means that when missiles are again directed at Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates or Jordan, the response won’t be local and isolated but regional and integrated.

The big strategic question is whether the regional alliance relies solely on the Iranian threat. If so, would the fall of the Tehran regime drain the alliance of substance? The answer is no. The Iranian threat is a catalyst but not the sole foundation.

Even if the regime in Tehran is replaced by a more moderate government, the Middle East will continue to face cross-border security challenges: proxy networks, instability in Syria and Iraq, threats in the maritime domain, and competition for regional influence. A new axis could emerge, for example, around movements associated with the Muslim Brotherhood led by Turkey and Qatar.

A regional alliance could evolve from a mechanism to contain Iran into a broader framework for regional stabilization and deterrence.

Donald Trump is breaking the post-Cold War assumptions in foreign policy and rewriting the strategic rules. Campus radicals in America, and antisemitic professors and transnational elites are much more hostile to Israel than Saudi Arabia or even Qatar. 

The international establishment can't wrap its head around the new reality, nor the opportunities that the changes in strategic alliances promise. 

Winning the Iran war, or whatever you want to call it, has the potential to reshape the Middle East for decades to come. Especially if the new Iranian regime is relatively moderate, as we can hope, if not expect, yet. 

In the1970s the Middle East was divided between Arab states hostile to Israel and an alliance of Israel, Iran, and the United States. Since the Iranian revolution, the Arab states remained enemies with Iran, had reasonable relations with the US, and a mostly hostile peace with Israel. 

Could we soon see a new alignment, with Israel, the Arab states, and even Iran coexisting well together? 

We can hope.
