A tale illustrating how out-of-control government effects real people by my friend, Gary Paduch.
Old man Pervis made a meager living plowing peoples gardens with his old mule Tom. They also did odd jobs with his wagon and mule drawn hay mowing machine. But, times had changed and work was slow. Tom ate a great deal of hay and oats. The old man's profit margin had declined as he and Tom grew older. The old man decided to gradually cut back on Tom’s food just a handful a day. He reasoned Tom would get used to it and he would have a bigger profit margin, even though this strategy would only amount to a few cents per day. The plan was working to perfection except after a few months old Tom fell over stone cold dead from the lack of nutrition. His resistance to disease, parasites and God knows what else had caused his demise.
Tom lay dead out behind his small shed. Old man Pervis would have to hire old man Hawkins to come with his backhoe and bury old Tom. It was a sad day and very little money was left in the Pervis cookie jar. He’d have to walk to the store and leave word for Mr. Hawkins to come quickly as Tom was getting “ripe” and the smell was going to be over powering in very short order.
As he sat on his small back door stoop, a car pulled into his dirt driveway. It was an official government car. Pervis walked to meet the driver. “Are you Pervis?” the man asked. “I am, what can I do for you?” Pervis said.
“Mr. Pervis, I am with the county code department. We have information that you have been operating a mule without a permit and have failed to pay your annual mule tax!” Mr. Pervis looked perplexed. “I never heered about such a thing” he answered softly. The code enforcement man spoke harshly, “Mr. Pervis, ignorance of the law is no excuse. You are going to have to learn the code and pay the mule tax and permit fees, plus penalties and interest. How long have you had the mule?”
Old man Pervis' eyeballs were now the size of golf balls. “I reckon about 15 years or so. He’s been a good mule.” “My God”, said the code enforcer, “This is a most serious matter! Where is the mule now?”
Pervis responded, “He’s down yonder behind the shed.” The old man pointed in the direction of the shed. The enforcer glared at Pervis. “Mr. Pervis, I may have to confiscate your mule in light of this most serious lengthy violation”. The old man Pervis said, “ That would be all right with me. He’s dropped over stone cold dead”. The enforcer paused after a few minutes. He asked the old man, “Mr. Pervis do you have your MOSHA documents available, and your occupational license, your mule skinner continuing education certificates, zoning compliance letter and certificate of occupancy for that shed?”
The old man sat down on a stump at the edge of the drive way, “I ain't got non of that stuff. I ain't never heered of such a thing”. The old man wrung his old large callous hands together. “I am just an old man, trying to earn a living.” The enforcer was not moved. “Mr. Pervis I don’t make the laws, smarter men than me do that. I just enforce them. I’m going to have to red flag this property and notify the county code director, MOSHA and other appropriate federal, state, county and other jurisdictional authorities.”
At this point Mrs. Pervis hobbled out to the two men, She wore her only dress. She and it were thin and worn. “Gene is something wrong?” she asked. “This man is a high governmental official with the county and the USA. He says I have broken the law in every way because of dead Tom. As best as I can figure, I’m headed for prison. He is going to red flag our house and shed. We’re done for. He says smarter men has set up these laws. You’ll have to get on the food stamps and the welfare. Only God can help us now.”
They stood together near the sawed off stump as the code enforcer wrote out a citation and strung out red plastic tie down ribbons around their property. It was a warm day. Tom would fill the air with his sweet aroma quickly. There was nothing the Pervises could do. There was nothing anyone could do. The government was in charge. Small mule skinners had no chance.
When the enforcer was finished, he walked over to Mr. and Mrs. Pervis, “I’m sorry about your loss, but I must advise you that you’ll have to get an environmental burial permit and file the required death certificates. I hope you can get another mule so you can get back to work.” He tipped his hat.
Old man Pervis said, “Another mule, what little money we got is going to lawyers to keep us out of jail.” “I’m sorry,” said the enforcer. “I don’t make the rules I just enforce them.” He then drove away.

Since World War II, quite a number of black Americans have embraced Islam. Many apparently do so because they associate slavery with white Christian Europe. As far as I can tell, many that do so are unaware of the nature and dimnsions of the Arab slave trade. It seems understandable that many African-Americans would want to shed their white Anglo-Saxon Protestant "slave" names. Yet what most seem to be doing is to adopt Arab names rather than actual African names. They are in effect giving up one set of slave names for another set. Embracing African names and culture seems unsderstandable. Many Americans of European ancestry are fascnated by their European heritage. What seems difficult to understand is why American blacks are so eager to embrace both the Arab names and the Islamic faith of the slavers who wreaked such havoc throughout Africa for 12 centuries and even today are involved in both slavery and a genocide against Africans in Darfur.

I propose that all political ads must be reviewed by an independant group and fact checked PRIOR to hitting the public media avenues (radio, tv, internet, etc...). If it has untruthful things in it, it doesn't go. If it is 100% factual, it is approved to be aired. There has to be accountability and not just the thought, "that's just how politics are". Just my 2 cents.
Today a very serious and possibly tragic event was witnessed by a stadium full of football fans and countless viewers on television. Tulane University was playing Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With two seconds left in the first half a seemingly minor head-to-head collision of two Tulane players left Devon Walker unconscious and non-responsive on the field (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8352006/tulane-safety-devon-walker-hospitalized-suffered-broken-neck-collapsed-lung-hit ). Medical people rushed to the site to begin administering aid, including CPR and a tracheotomy, to the stricken player. An ambulance came onto the field, and after several tense minutes of work on Walker, he was loaded into the ambulance and taken to nearby St. Francis Hospital. The latest report I have is that Walker suffered a broken neck and a collapsed lung.

Howdy all! Well, a good week for all, eh? Got to see the democrats unite behind all the common goals they have like uh,.. uh… unity, and diversity, and uh,… Obama and, Solidarity, and,.. OH and what about their strength in religion? Pretty good, eh? Too bad they don’t have a clue on anything tangible, like unemployment, debt, military strength, or even how to determine 2/3 majority.

How much of the convention coverage did you really watch? I had a hard time watching either one. But there were a couple of people that I did want to hear from. I could listen to Clint Eastwood say anything, almost as much as listening to John Wayne. The critics said he rambled, and was disjointed in his speech. I guess there was no way around that for him since he had no prepared speech and figured out what to say just before his introduction! But, how many empty chairs did you see afterwards? And doesn’t an empty chair now mean something completely new and encouraging? YES!!!! And all from the top of an 82 year old’s head. That was great! And what about the DNC? What inspiring speech came from there? Could it be the vote to amend the platform to re-include God and Jerusalem? How about the immediate reaction to the result? I think (truly I do) that the closing prayer by Cardinal Dolan was fabulous. And what strength of character for him to go into the lion’s den and give the prayer he did. And did you see the pictures of those in the audience during the prayer? They were following him throughout. Only one or two disapproving looks. What does that tell you about the democratic party, let alone the empty seats? Maybe they were saving a spot for their glorious leader to sit by them. Too bad that Clint didn’t give his speech before the RNC. There weren’t any seats saved out during the entire convention. All the seats were taken. No one knew to save a seat for Barry. Oh well.
Gifts from God? You can’t deny the gift of Cardinal Dolan praying for 5 minutes and not getting booed off the stage. Clint Eastwood speaking from his heart, not even the GOP teleprompter could do so well with words. And then, there is Barack H Obama. What? BHO is a gift from God? Yes, he is. You see, as mentioned in Isaiah 65:24, He was answering our prayers even before we knew we needed to pray; even before we knew we needed His strength. President Obama is a gift from God, because without his self-centered, narcissistic need to put himself in front of everything, we might not have known about progressivism, or the Marxist socialist movement in America. We may never have realized that our future was going to be taken from us and our children. We may never have known about the coming attack on our Constitution, if he hadn’t spoken to a plumber during a campaign stop in Ohio. Heck, that plumber might still be a plumber instead of running for Congress without Bobo. The Sleeping Giant might still be sleeping if it wasn’t for Obama. We might have lost it all, even before we knew we were losing something! And the tea party might still be a distant historical fact, or a game that 5 year old girls play in the den. And you thought Joe Biden was the only one with the gift of gaffe.
So, we should thank God for the gifts we have received; Clint Eastwood’s enlightening talk, Cardinal Dolan for exceptional wisdom and strength, and Barack Obama for waking the Giant.

The Democratic Party is making drastic changes.
I knew they were left wing, but I didn’t realize how far left they have gone. I knew they were in favor of give, give, give. Not only are they headed for Socialism and Marxism, but they want to eliminate any reference to God, Christianity, Catholicism and Judaism in our country, even to the point of removing every cross or religious emblem at every cemetery including Arlington National Cemetery.
During the DNC (Democratic National Convention), God and Jerusalem had been removed from the party platform by the Party Platform Committee. This was not an oversight, but a knowing and deliberate action by the members of the committee. As the committee meets, every line and every paragraph is read, edited and voted on. Nothing is added or deleted without a majority approval of the committee. This process is not done in a day or a couple of hours.
When the editing and updating is done, the preliminary platform is printed, reviewed for correctness and typos. The platform is then voted on by the committee and when passed should be submitted to the entire convention delegation for approval.
The vote at the convention can be by voice vote with the majority ruling. Any convention delegate can call for a “point of order” and call for a “roll call vote or vote by a show of hands” even if there are 99.9% in favor or against the motion of the original vote. Of course this can’t be done if the mikes on the floor are turned off.
So how did the platform get changed? Well it wasn’t a typo. It wasn’t an oversight. It was deliberate and knowingly by the Platform Committee. I don’t know if the platform was presented to the convention delegates or not, but watching the ruckus during the convention and on the news, I believe it was. The “no’s” were very strong.
This is when it became obvious that the majority of the delegates did not want the motion passed, however the Chair declared it passed as the instructions on the teleprompter told him to do.
Who were those against the motion? I will give you my thoughts on that in a bit, but I can tell you who were for it, those who believe in the Constitution of the United States, the Bible and God. I have taken the oath to the U. S. Constitution twice. The first time in 1956 when I was 16 years old when I joined the California Army National Guard when I swore allegiance to the Governor and the second time in 1957 when I swore allegiance to the President when I volunteered for the U. S. Army. Yes I will fight to my death to defend enemies from without and within. You do not need to be in the military or to an elected office in order to take the oath to the constitution. Here is an example of an oath. Get with a group, raise your right and take the oath in front of them and stand by it.
I, [name], do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties. So help me God.
So who voted no? It was the Atheist’s and the Muslims which was obvious. No further explanation is needed. They are not welcome in the Republican Party.
It used to be said “If you didn’t vote you get what you deserve and you don’t have the right to complain.” This is more true today than then. Today it is not enough to just vote or write a Blog. You must attend school board meetings even if you don’t have kids, the city or town council meetings, tea party meetings and political meetings especially your elected Congressperson and Senator Meetings. Get on their E-mail and written mailing lists. Find out where they are meeting, go there and raise H- E-DOUBLE TOOTH PICKS. Write, phone or even go to Washington and pound on your representative’s door, but in all cases be as polite as you can or you will be thrown or escorted out. Be firm but courteous.
YOU WOULD NOT VOTE FOR THE DEVEL, I DONT THINK SO. ARE YOU BETTER OFF NOW THAN YOU WERE FOUR YEARS AGO? YES OBAMA IS BETTER OFF. MOST OF THE PEOPLE ARE NOT BETTER OFF.
I am having trouble posting blogs with the word "document" in it. For some reason the editor changes it to do**ment. Trust me, I do spell better than that. The site admin needs to look into the glitch and get it fixed. I haven't noticed any other creative misspeeeellllling but it probably is there somewhere. Come on guys my writing is bad enough without help from the editor.
