Lillpop With 14-26 million Americans unemployed and or underemployed, one would expect an ‘attitude of gratitude’ among workers still holding jobs, especially those being paid an average of $58 per hour. However, unionized auto workers in Detroit have grown accustomed to enjoying unreasonable wages and benefits, courtesy of thugs who operate the United Auto Workers union. So what if the unemployment rate is 9.1 percent? Who cares if America is plunging into a double-dip recession? Only a fool would fall for the propaganda which admonishes those doing well to ‘pay their fair share.” With that brazen disregard for the facts, the UAW has authorized a strike against Ford Motors, as reported, in part, at the reference: The image of UAW workers with picket signs touting unfair wages is something that no one wants to see, but the possibility now exists thanks to a union vote that authorizes Ford workers to strike if negotiations between the auto maker and the UAW break down. While the issue of wages and negotiations with unions can be terse, this round of labor talks has a new flavor that we have not experienced in a while, and the implications of these issues may give Ford a negotiating edge. When the government stepped in and bailed out GM and Chrysler with an infusion of cash, there were certain concessions made by the UAW. The bailout allowed the companies to survive and even revamp their businesses. It also prevented the union from striking against GM and Chrysler. Through that period, Ford became somewhat of a shining star by not taking any bailout money. Ford's reward for taking the harder route is that the UAW, in negotiations with all three makers, can strike. This reason, while perhaps sentimental, is one key negotiating tool that Ford has in Ford's cap. The perception that the union will punish Ford, the company that did not take a bailout, would leave a stigma on the UAW that could take years to erase. It is the classic mantra that no good deed goes unpunished. This mantra is something that people in America are growing tired of, in particular because of the state of the economy. A more fundamental reason that the author does not see a strike happening is the fact that Ford employees are the highest paid in the industry, and the "Big Three" have a higher average pay than many competitors. This makes it hard for the UAW to complain about pay, and even more difficult to complain that Ford is not paying well enough. According to The Center for Automotive Research, Ford has labor costs of $58 per hour, while Japanese competitor Toyota comes in at $55. The $3 per hour may not seem like much, but when spread over thousands of workers for tens of thousands of hours, the numbers get big quickly. One compliant of the UAW is that merit raises and a 401(k) match were reinstated for salaried employees but not union members. However, the union neglects to state that UAW workers received profit-sharing checks averaging $5,000 in 2010. The argument that the union has is that this is a "one-time" perk and not the same as getting a merit raise.” Thus, the media-created image of greed as a fat-cat, Republican parasite who thrives by not paying his or her fair share, needs to be updated. Today, the greedy are dim-witted auto workers who earn six-figure incomes, vote straight Democrat, and are dumb enough to vote to strike when a bona fide economic depression is bearing down on America. “While doing research for my new book, “Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance,” I discovered some startling information about the full extent of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the Department of Justice and its brazen pro-Muslim activities. And when I inquired for documentation related to these activities, the DOJ’s response to me indicated that the agency’s ties with Islamic supremacist groups in the U.S. are far more extensive than anyone has realized.
I was especially interested in DOJ actions extending certain civil-rights laws to Muslims in voting, particularly insofar as they involved the DOJ’s Lema Bashir. Essentially, they wanted to convert a religious class into a racial one, to create majority-Muslim legislative districts. Lema Bashir was at the center of Virginia’s failing to mail military ballots in time in 2008. The same mistakes were repeated in 2010, and United States military voters were heavily disenfranchised because of calculated inaction by Bashir and the DOJ throughout 2010. Disenfranchising the military vote is policy. You could make a case that bad mistakes were made in 2008, but when those same mistakes were made and made worse in 2010 by a devout Muslim who calls Israel “northern Palestine,” I submit that it is no accident, but deliberate policy.
There seemed to be no way they could withhold the documents whose existence I discovered, so on Feb. 28, 2011, I made a Freedom of Information Act request. I wrote to Nelson Hermilla, the chief of the FOIA branch of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division.
I asked him for “all communications between any employee of the Civil Rights Division and the Islamic Society of North America [ISNA], the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR], the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee [ADC], the Muslim Students Association [MSA] or any affiliated student group. In particular, but not limited to, the request includes all communications related to appearances at or sponsorships of conventions or meetings of this organizations by the Department of Justice including conferences in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.”
ISNA and CAIR, of course, were named unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation jihad terror funding case. The MSA is a Muslim Brotherhood organization. They’re the last groups the DOJ should be working with.
I also asked Hermilla to provide “transcripts of speeches delivered by Civil Rights Division political appointees or section managers at any meeting of the Islamic Society of North America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Muslim Students Association or any affiliated student group. If transcripts of such appearances do not exist, please provide a list of such appearances instead.” And for “resumes of all attorney and intern hires in the Civil Rights Division in which the resumes list prior employment at the Islamic Society of North America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, or the Muslim Students Association.” In addition, I requested “all travel authorization forms, expense submissions and records of payment for any Department employee to attend any convention, conference or meeting with or at the Islamic Society of North America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee,” and “any memorandum, document, email, telephone conference record or proposal discussing the use of civil rights laws in the Housing Section, Voting Section, and Education Section to use laws enforced by these sections to bring cases or potential cases on behalf of a protected class defined as Arab or Muslim or Islamic.” I asked him to “include any documents which discuss the applicability of civil rights laws to these classes from these three sections.”
Specifically, I asked for “records relating to the meeting of the ‘Monthly Outreach Meeting’ (or a regular occurring meeting organized by the Civil Rights Division with substantially the same purpose even if it is referred to with a different name inside the Department) with Muslim and Arab groups at the Civil Rights Division. Specifically, include lists of attendees at each monthly meeting, the agenda of each meeting and any minutes or summary prepared subsequent to each meeting. Please also specifically note the meetings at which the Attorney General of the United States attended.”
I asked for all such records dating back to 2006.
I knew these documents existed, indicating broad collaboration between the Justice Department and Muslim Brotherhood groups, and this was confirmed on April 29, 2011, when the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division finally responded to my request. Nelson Hermilla wrote me that “clearly your request encompasses thousands of records. The total located on a preliminary search totals 14,100 documents. Each document likely contains numerous pages.” Hermilla also complained that “it is not clear in what manner the collection of all five-year’s records might contribute to the general public understanding.” He explained that these documents would only be made available to me if I paid $1,400.
This is astounding. I made a fairly narrow request, narrowed down to specific groups and carefully defined activity that the Civil Rights Division doesn’t even have direct jurisdiction over – “Muslim Outreach” – and they come up with 14,100 matching documents. A knowledgeable Justice Department insider told me: “You couldn’t generate 14,000 pages of documents if you asked for communications with lenders or apartment or hotels as part of the Housing Section enforcement activities. There are very few things in Civil Rights that would generate 14,000 pages of anything. It has got to be a treasure trove of information.”
Indeed. It is also remarkable that the Justice Department would deny that these records would advance “the general public understanding.” Given the increasing number of cases in which Shariah is used in American courts and the Obama Justice Department’s assistance of stealth jihad, Islamic supremacist legal initiatives, this claim is extremely flimsy.
I intend to pursue this matter until the shameful records of this infiltration are made available to the American people.”

Obama's jobs speech was reminiscent of a cliché scene in cowboy movies. A loud mouth guy stands on the steps of the jail-house and enrages the crowd to overrule the sheriff, drag out the prisoner and hang him without a trial.
Obama used his bully pulpit to say, in essence, if those Republican S.O. Bs do not pass my jobs bill immediately without review, they should be politically lynched. Unquestionably, Obama's speech had a bully edge to it. Pass my jobs bill NOW!
Obama lied about all of the freebies in his jobs bill being “paid for” just as he did to pass Obamacare.
In his typical manipulative deceptive fashion, Obama said several “right things” such as government getting out of the way of small business while his administration does the complete opposite.
The center piece of Obama's speech was his despicable signature exploitation of class envy and demoni-zation of the rich. Obama in his speech reduced the American Dream to being a union worker with good wages and benefits. Obviously, Obama considered entrepreneurs with higher aspirations to be part of the problem. How dare they seek to have more than anyone else? To each according to his needs. Scary. Very scary and evil.
As expected, Obama's job speech was written using the left's same old play book. We Tea Party patriots knew what Obama was going to say in his “jobs speech” before he delivered it.
OK class, what will be Obama's minions next move to force Republicans to pass his jobs bill NOW? I hear you yelling the correct answer. You guys are toooo cool, tooo smart and right on target! I give you all an A+. Obama's minions will proclaim everyone questioning Obama's job bill to be racist.

During the bloody war over increasing the federal debt ceiling, President Obama warned Americans that it was ‘Time to eat your peas,” a homey reminder of the difficult times and choices that this nation faces.
In delivering his jobs speech to a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday, Obama amplified on that theme with a slight twist: Time for recycled Peas, America!
As always, Obama was eloquent and passionate.
Regrettably, the president’s words, though terrific in terms of style and oratory flare, were more of the same, tired old liberal pap that has damn near destroyed the greatest nation in the world.
His words make it clear why America’s credit rating was downgraded for the first time in U.S. history.
His failure to face reality and assume a genuine leadership role explains why our nation has slipped to fifth place in competitiveness according to the World Economic Forum’s rankings.
For years, Obama has argued against the notion of American Exceptionalism. Through his failed policies, Obama appears to be making his point, much to the chagrin and detriment of 300 million Americans.
Despite the much-touted ‘Summer of Recovery’ and failed trillion-dollar stimulus, America continues to bleed jobs:
Ford Motors Company has announced a billion-dollar construction project—in India.
General Electric is moving headquarters of a highly-successful, medical-imaging business from Waukesha, Wisconsin, to China.
The U.S. Postal Service is on the brink of collapse and has plans to lay off 120,000 employees.
While a part of the USPS problem is the loss of business to the Internet, the major problem is employee costs mandated by labor agreements with labor unions.
And so it is all across America: Unreasonable pensions and labor costs demanded by labor unions are bankrupting government municipalities and private business alike, forcing hundreds of thousands of Americans out of work.
Why, then, did the president fail to challenge greedy unionized labor members to ‘pay their fair share?’
Why not propose a ‘windfall profits tax’ on obscene, unsustainable pensions that are wreaking economic havoc from coast to coast?
Then there is the president’s mindless pandering to illegal aliens, presumably to savor favor with Hispanics.
With 16-28 million Americas underemployed and or unemployed, why is this president working to stall, or eliminate, the removal of millions of aliens who have no moral or legal basis for being in America?
Why the push for a DREAM Act for illegals when so many American citizens are suffering so?
American taxpayers subsidize illegal aliens to the tune of more than $100 billion a year. Why in the hell does this president refuse to enforce the rule of law and spare taxpayers this outrageous expense?
Most importantly, this president has waged bloody war against private enterprise and capitalism since he took office in 2009. His bitter anti-business, anti-American rhetoric has caused people who hire employees to retreat in fear and uncertainty.
His stated desire to use government to bankrupt the coal industry is a chilling reminder of how out-of-touch this man is.

You might ask what the link and headline above have to do with the price of tea in China or politics in the United States? Perhaps more than immediately meets the eye . . . .
A noted anthropologist's child recently stumbled onto something "earth-shaking" which has now been named Australopithecus sediba or the "Southern Ape" as a nickname. If ever there was an actual missing link: this appears to be it.
These Australopithecus sediba fossils (young male and older female) are dated to just short of 2 million years old and mark the first and only time that such a fossil has been labeled as both a hominid (highly advanced ape) and a hominin (of direct human lineage) by responsible anthropologists.
The discovery was made in South Africa far, far from where Louis Leakey’s “Lucy” (Australopithecus afarensis dated to 3.2 million years ago and apparently a hominid ancestor of this recent discovery) was first discovered. Hominids like gorillas; chimpanzees; our closest living relative, the bonobo (sometimes called a "pygmy chimp"), and their extinct ancestors have been dated to roughly 6 million years ago. No scientist is yet calling these Australopithecus sediba fossils the long-sought "missing link." They tend to shy away from such “bold” labeling for a good twenty years after key discoveries are made, but it certainly could make Charles Darwin smile . . . what about the price of tea; or the fate of TEA Parties?
On the contemporary front, while Texas governor Rick Perry (G.O.P. Presidential contender) performed decently in his first presidential debate and at this point looks very much like the eventual G.O.P. standard-bearer in 2012 . . . Ol' Rajjpuut suspects Mr. Perry is going to keep having the echoes of his "personal debate" with a ten-year old New Hampshire child coming back to haunt him.
You may remember that the kid instigated by his Mom, asked Perry about the age of the earth and about "Evolution" and was lectured by the governor who said that "It was a theory that had a lot of gaps in it." Mr. Perry, unfortunately for Constitutional-conservatives/fiscal conservatives is clearly what's known as a social-conservative. Mr. Perry was more than disingenuous with the child. Yes, Governor, there are gaps in a lot of scientific knowledge, but anyone who takes the Bible 100% literally (they say it all happened precisely as written including 7-day creation in 7 24-hour days exactly where intelligent people might say that to God a day might be 1.5 billion years long or whatever) and insist upon Creationism being taught in high school biology classes in public schooling is probably not worth our votes. Well, Mr. Perry, this discovery might well rule out 99% of the serious gaps. We're not talking about bull-shi_ like so-called "global warming" here, Charles Darwin was a serious and thoughtful scientist and he had worlds of evidence for his beliefs about the Origin of the Species.
The seemingly-unending problem with the Republican Party is that they persistently ignore the stuff that 70% of Americans can agree upon (smaller, less-intrusive federal government; lowest taxes possible; following the Constitution; necessary defense and border control; and fiscal responsibility that includes NOT bankrupting the future for our children and grand children) and persist in sounding like people who want to shove their religions down our throats (Christmas carols in PUBLIC schools where Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics and believers in Herman the Carrot God attend alongside Christians), and like they totally lack compassion; and that they want to interfere in everybody's bedroom activities. One fact dooms them to not being able to turn this country around:
Most sensible voters distrust social-conservatives . . . .
For example, social-conservatives are typically 100% anti-abortion. First of all abortion is the law of the land for almost 40 years now. More importantly IF you say that no abortion is ever allowed even for
rape victims
incest victims
very young girls
mothers whose lives are endangered
then you mark yourself as a fanatic who believes that our God-given brains are not to be used to make life better; a madman who doesn't believe in human free agency/free will. For at least 30 years this matter has been widely-polled among American voters and without fail the results are the same: 59% believe that 100% anti-abortionism is just plain WRONG! And that rape and incest victims and very young girls who are pregnant and mothers whose lives are endangered should have a choice.
These same polls have also consistently shown that 70% of Americans believe there are "too many abortions in America." So 70% of Americans are quite concerned about abortions and 59% of Americans believe it must come down to the woman’s choice and should be allowed in drastic circumstances like rape, etc. One more thing, since the consequences fall virtually 100% on women, we men ought to stay out of it, it is a woman's choice between her and her God. When you have 59% of the voting public against your primary social-conservative stance, you will not get elected and you do not deserve to be elected . . . and if social-conservativism interferes, then the necessary good needing doing by fiscal- and Constitutional-conservatives cannot get done and the American future gets flushed down the toilet as the progressive mischief-makers (mostly from the Democratic Party but they’re found in both parties) keep getting elected and keep destroying our nation.
Mr. Perry did have one problem in the debate and that problem (Social Security) and the South African Ape-Man discovery might doom us all to four more years of Barack Obama’s incompetence unless Mr. Perry grows up. Mr. Perry correctly calls Social Security as it now stands a “Ponzi Scheme.” This is 100% accurate. Just as Ponzi swindlers take a lot of money from their victims and pay out relatively little, Social Security is fundamentally bankrupt right now. Mr. Perry needs to take his message to the people and explain it very well and explain why and how Social Security must be modified if it is to ever be a success for our children. He will not get a lot of help on this. Some of his fellow Republicans will intensely attack him for this honest, forthright stance.
What his Republican rivals will do to Mr. Perry’s position will be walk in the zoo compared to what the liberal media and the Democrats will assault him with. Mr. Perry needs to confine all future comments on Social Security to this more-easily defendable position.
A. Social Security as it now stands is a Ponzi scheme and unless modified deeply, Social Security funding will not be there for our children and grandchildren.
B. Social Security for those aged 50 and above should be left 95% untouched. Means-basing for the very rich recipients on Social Security is vital.
C. Social Security’s present Ponzi nature becomes evident when we talk about those aged 49 and below. The program must be adjusted and modified greatly to insure that it is fiscally-sound for all such workers.
D. Social Security was created back when the average American’s life span was 55 years of age and when the average American worker’s lifespan was 52 years of age (far more men than women fell under Social Security and women averaged about 59 years old at death). Today’s realities are that the average death age is closer to 85 than to 55; and that a lot more women are part of the work force. Any changes to Social Security must reflect these realities.
As far as Mr. Perry’s stance on evolution . . . Rajjpuut is reminded of the insurance fraud allowed to stand by a foolish judge. The “victim,” in a wheelchair was told by the insurance agent investigating the matter that he’d hound him till his death and would never be allowed to leave that wheelchair. The “victim” told him, “Fine but I intend to visit Mexico City and the site where the Virgin of Guadalupe encountered Mary. Don’t be surprised if a miracle takes place, my good man!” Mr. Perry needs to read up on human anthropology and on the theories about evolution and on this discovery in particular. It would be smart on the face of it; and super-smart if Mr. Perry were to “see the light.” Seeing the light means Mr. Perry probably ought to say,
“The scientists say the earth is 4.5 billion years old; I know nothing that disproves that. The very recent discovery of Australopithecus sediba fossils in South Africa looks like it might be what they used to call a “missing link.” If that’s so, It looks like Mr. Darwin was right and it looks like a day to God is a damn long time to us and the week of creation found in Genesis is a damn, damn, damn long time compared to a human’s lifespan.”
Mr. Perry further needs to educate Americans to the TEA Party’s “Contract for America.” This fiscal- and Constitutional Conservative (with absolutely ZERO social-conservativism in it) document may be the single greatest American political document since the Bill of Rights was added to the U.S. Constitution. The more Mr. Perry persists in attacking the dismal record of Barrack Obama and on pounding home the ten planks in this incredibly visionary Contract from America platform . . . the better off America will be.
If, ignoring all this sound advice, Mr. Perry persists in unscientific thinking he’ll be pushed out of thinking peoples’ minds as a foolish hick and we’ll get more and more of Barack Obama and it’ll be his fault. Grow up, Rick Perry, grow up!

Or when a state like Arizona tries to protect its citizens, of all colors and creeds, from being abused and harmed by illegal aliens from Mexico and points south.

When radical Islam took down the World Trade Center, leaving thousands of Americans dead, in the Middle East, thousands danced in the streets, the reason being that radical Islam thinks taking the world back to the year 600 A.D., when Islam was born, is what Allah wants. It was by Allah’s hand, therefore, that America experienced her most brutal attack ever.
President Obama campaigned on the promise to transform America. When it was planned to build a place to worship Allah near the hole in the ground radical Islam left, President Obama said the freedom of religion clause of the U. S. Constitution made it unlawful to deny permission. Obama’s transformation of America is hardly in support of the Constitution. President Obama’s transformation apologizes for America’s ideas on freedom and supports Islam’s Sharia law.

When interviewed, the survivors of the 9-11 event say they feel that they were spared for a purpose. They have less trouble in accepting themselves as they are. They are more aware. Hey Dr. Laurie, I'm not a pro but I can think. We're all created equal in that way.
Secretary of Homeland Defense Janet Napolitano, the leader of America’s collective effort to stop terrorist threats, as the United States approaches the tenth anniversary of 9-11, warns that it is more difficult to protect the American people because terrorism is becoming more the lone wolf. A terrorist can rent a small plane, load it with explosives, kill a lot of people, get a lot of attention, thus to scare the world into submission.
President Obama doesn’t know whether he is afoot or horseback. Congress is out to feather its own nest. Big labor has declared war on the Tea Party “sons-of-bitches.” Congresswoman Maxine Waters tells the Tea Party to go to hell. Vice-President Joe Biden says the Tea Party is threatening laboring people’s existence. The Tea Party, the scapegoat, in Nazi Germany it was Jews.
Without thinking through my plan, I ended on the rocks. I had planned to make videos of the places boat charterers go in the Virgins to sell to boat chartering companies. Loaded with expensive video equipment, I cast off for the Virgins, and ended on the rocks. I should have hired an experienced boat captain and sailed the route the pros take to the Virgins instead of the island hoping route I took. Live and learn.
What is needed is putting together the vast amount of the information available in a way that makes common sense. I’d lived an unusually active life, winning some of the battles, and losing some. At age 74 and retired, with nothing better to do with my time, in May 2001, I decided to write my memoirs. Two years later I self published An Aquarian’s Bold Venture. My book was critiqued by a professional. I was advised that, besides badly needing editing, my book left great gaps. I was advised to completely overhaul the book.
My book’s critique was most disappointing, but I didn’t give up. I spent the next five years trying to put the pieces together and started rewriting. After a few pages I gave up. My ideas were too far-fetched to sell. On July 11, 2011, ten years after deciding to write my memoirs, and thinking every day about my life, I was informed that the UN, the US, the EU, and Russia, had agreed to decide the fate of Israel, without Israel’s participation. With powers that be who know only war as the solution, and America has not won a war since World War II, sadly, we are looking at a war to end all wars. I decided it was time to rewrite my book. I can say now that I’ve got the pieces put together.
Rapid technological advances leaves the world preoccupied with materialism. With the world in political turmoil, with economies on the brink of collapse, with little sense of direction, empowered bullies having painted themselves into a corner, knowing nothing of the cure and now name calling, with great change inevitable, I promise that you will get a fresh voice in my work that worked for me. I plan to self-publish my rewrite in January 2012.

Oh, and before the start of the football game, President Obama is going to waste valuable television time trying to convince Congress and the American people that he has some magical formula for creating jobs.
My question to the president: If you have any workable ideas for fixing the wretched economy (which you made all the worse) why in Hades have you waited nearly three years to speak up?
After all, in 2009 and 2010, you owned both chambers of Congress and could have passed damn near anything.
Why in the world did you waste close to a trillion dollars on the so-called ‘stimulus’ failure if you had a better plan in your mind?
Of course, the truth is that Obama will serve up 535 plates of rehashed peas that will call for MORE spending, but NOT stimulus, that will raise the deficit even more!
He will promise to reimburse treasury once the economy is ‘jump started,’ a story not unlike that told by an alcoholic uncle who promised to swear off the sauce forever if we could just lend him a $1,000. to get back on his wobbly feet.
Forget it—its called enabling and the last thing ding bat, addicted-to-spending Democrats need is another $300 billion to waste!
There is, however, a way in which Obama can show leadership in righting America’s financial ship.
Specifically, the U.S. Postal Service is about to go belly up, and may default on a $5.5 billion dollar obligation to employee pension funds. Things are so bad that the USPS is talking about laying off 120,000 people!
While a part of the USPS problem is the loss of business to the Internet, the major problem is employee costs as set forth in labor agreements with labor unions.
Those agreements are simply unsustainable in the current environment. USPS management needs to be able to renegotiate with the unions to reflect the new reality.
The devastating impact of outrageous labor costs also drove Ford Motors to announce construction of a billion dollar plant—in India!
And so it is all across America: Outlandish pensions and labor costs negotiated by labor unions are bankrupting government municipalities and private business alike, forcing hundreds of thousands of Americans out of work.
If President Obama really wants to tackle unemployment and the economy in a serious way, he should propose sweeping reform of labor agreements to conform to the current reality.
Forget about more taxes and spending, Mr. President! Our nation is being crippled by greedy labor leaders who are not interested in “spreading the wealth” to other Americans.
Reform labor agreements NOW, freeze all new regulations, cut taxes across the board, and just get government out of the way!
That is the way to cut unemployment and rebuild America’s economy.
Obama Plays Political “Gotcha”
With Second Gibson Guitar Raid
The same Obama administration – already threatening to kill thousands of airplane manufacturing jobs in South Carolina for being politically incorrect; and complicit in the 35% unemployment in and around Fresno, California (courtesy of the Environmental Protection Agency’s stupid ban against farm irrigation) -- is now attacking the Gibson Guitar Company, maker of arguably the world’s most desired musical instrument. Gibson is not Stradivarius but its artisan-built, American-made guitars are in more hands the world over than any musical instrument short of the Hohner Harmonica, a mass-produced pocket instrument.
According to Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, his company, the iconic maker of the Les Paul and Firebird X electronic guitars, is being unjustly harassed by the federal government after an August 24th raid by armed agents from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on two of Gibson's Tennessee production facilities and its Nashville headquarters. According to Juszkiewicz the feds confiscated nearly $1 million in rare Indian ebony, finished guitars and electronic data the second time in two years that Gibson's factories have been raided by the feds because of unfinished rare woods used to build its guitars. Notably and gutlessly failing to make a presence in the raid were Eric Holder’s@@ Justice Department and the Federal Labor Relations Board who most probably were the initiators of the action . . . almost all U.S. guitar makers other than Gibson are union shops owned by Democratic sympathizers.
"It was a nightmare," Juszkiewicz said, "We had people sitting making guitars. We had no weapons” when the gun-wielding Feds crashed their business sites. Gibson Guitar has always made a good-faith effort to follow the law, he said. Juszkiewicz and virtually all other U.S. guitar makers all use the same woods in their products, there didn’t seem to be any reason for singling out Gibson for the raid. Politics may be behind the raid according to Gibson’s lawyers. Juszkiewicz, who has contributed to a few Democrats in the past, is a vocal anti-Obama Republican and he runs a non-union shop. The National Labor Relations Board loaded down with Obama appointees and union activists has already sought to twist the nation’s fair labor practices law by seeking to prevent Boeing Aircraft Company from creating a new plant and thousands of jobs in South Carolina, a “right to work state” by implying that the new plant would harm Boeing’s union workforce in Seattle, Washington.
It comes down to this: by purporting to uphold an Indian law about shipping unfinished Indian ebony (actually India freely trades in many types of unfinished woods from their country including this one and several variations of this one), the feds are in effect saying that only finished wood from India (creating Indian jobs and killing American ones) may be used in Gibson and other guitars. The federal agents involved have said that the wood involved “is too thick to be a veneer” and as an unfinished wood cannot be brought into the country.
Juszkiewicz and his Gibson attorneys insist the wood is legal under Indian law because it's a finished product -- a fingerboard that gets attached to the neck of the guitar and they have letters from the Indian government to prove it they told CNN. Certainly this appears to be carrying political correctness way too far . . . federal agents with guns raiding a well-respected company instead of using a subpoena to gain the information needed. Let us not forget the disruption in Gibson’s daily business and the confiscation of over $1 million in inventory; and confiscation of records. One other little detail, shutting down Gibson would put more than 700 workers out on the streets. Juszkiewicz is keeping the company running, "We have not been able to make some products, but I'm not going to lay people off," he said. The problem is, we have no recourse," he said. "These guys have investigated us for two years. They came in twice and shut the place down."
According to CNN, Juszkiewicz and Gibson await judgment on the earlier case, which involves rare wood from Madagascar confiscated from Gibson's factories in 2009. Meanwhile, Juszkiewicz has NOT been able to get the wood or guitars confiscated in that raid returned. Even if it were returned would it still be in usable condition after a two year hiatus?
"Why is big government spending our tax money to harm ordinary citizens and small businesses?" Juszkiewicz asked online yesterday. As it stands right now anyone in the country owning or selling a Gibson Guitar is in danger of arrest for violation of the law and/or obstructing justice. The Justice Department, through a spokesman said it only goes after the big companies selling “contraband products,” not the individuals or small businesses. Why is Rajjpuut not comforted by their reply?
On another front the TEA Party and other political conservatives opposed to big government interference are citing the two Gibson raids as further evidence that the Obama administration is killing American jobs. In 2009, the TEA Party cited the EPA for playing a role in the 35% unemployment around Fresno, California created by prohibiting vegetable farmers from irrigating their fields (saying they were endangering a three-inch fish, the delta smelt which tended to wander into irrigation piping**). Re-elect Obama for life in prison.

** Let us say for the sake of argument that this is a reasonable thing to do rather than bureaucratic nonsense. Two things come to mind:
1. No such action ought to be allowed without final Congressional approval
2. The EPA ought to be commanded to come up with a feasible, affordable alternative to save the damn dumb fish, for example
a. Installation of a wire or metal grid sufficiently far from the pipe intake that the little guys would run into rather than getting sucked into the pipe, OR
b. Some sort of chemical or audio device that would scare the little fish away: possibly by smelling like or sounding like a larger prey fish.
Killing jobs and driving food prices higher without first seeking a more common-sense cheap alternative is so reprehensible and so stupid that it’s hard to imagine anyone but a progressive nincompoop holding anything but utter contempt for the EPA. And notice that the responsibility must be the EPA’s and not the farmers’ who are NOT deliberately trying to make the damn fish extinct.

1. Joined with HUD, also leading an attack upon Westchester County, New York, the most highly-taxed real estate in the country; calling the area “segregated and racist,” the Attorney General and other Feds are seeking to force Westchester banks, etc. to grant sub-prime loans to “racially diverse individuals.” Isn’t that what caused our recent financial meltdown?
2. Denying all knowledge (already proven to be a lie) of the Fast and Furious “sting” program that put 37,000 weapons in the hands of the Mexican drug cartels and allowed them to be taken freely across our southern border where they’ve been implicated in hundreds of crimes. “Justice” Department, Mr. Holder?
