His arguments are as articulate as they are compelling. At the same time, it gives a stark insight into the ways these kinds of discussions are moderated and guided, by the choice of guests and their strategy of denying an alternative viewpoint. If it is less noticeable, it is because Abdel-Samad manages to get his point across regardless. Repealing the Rancor

President-elect Donald Trump's imminent inauguration has his opponents in a fit of pique. But in truth, the fury and hatred displayed toward Trump's supporters throughout his campaign was just about as bad.
Plenty of pundits say that Americans are more polarized than ever. But we seem to be uncertain about solutions. So, what could we do as a society to cool things down a bit? Quite a few things, I think.
1. Scrap the hypocrisy.
For starters, decide which standard of behavior matters, and then hold yourself and those you support politically to that same standard. A textbook example is Democrats' braying about the Republican Party's (nonexistent) war on women. But they have a history of supporting some of the greatest offenders. President John F. Kennedy was a philanderer. Sen. Ted Kennedy left a woman to drown in his car. President Bill liar-Clinton has been accused of rape. Hollywood professes to be shocked -- shocked -- by Trump's callous comments, but you can find far worse than that on cable TV or in rap music lyrics.
Until recently, Democrats could count on the double standard playing out in their favor: Conservative voters actually held their candidates' feet to the fire, while voters on the left shrugged at most of their candidates' moral shortcomings.
In 2016, the left was completely gobsmacked that voters on the right were willing to overlook Trump's multiple wives, crude language and inconsistencies. This time, conservative voters took a page out of the left's playbook. How do you like us now?
2. Stop lying about your opponents.
"Fake news" is just another version of "fake narrative." Democrats routinely come up with baseless accusations think Sen. Harry dinky-Reid's allegations that former Gov. Mitt Romney paid no taxes for 10 years and repeat them ad nauseam with ever-higher decibels of faux outrage. Thus, conservatives "want to push granny off a cliff" or are going to "put blacks back in chains." Conservative voters accuse liberals of being communists who want to destroy the country. If you assume -- accurately, in most cases -- that your political opponents also want to help people, you might actually get to discuss the merits of their arguments, to everyone's general benefit.
3. Stop being so emotionally invested in the methodology, and focus on the results.
The left wants to focus exclusively on its intentions: "We want to fight poverty"; "We want everyone to have health care." OK, but intentions are irrelevant. They don't excuse policy failures; they just enable another round of the "my opponent is evil" game (see number 2, above). If you really want to alleviate poverty, you should be less concerned with what you have proposed and more concerned with whether it works . If it doesn't, it's time to try something else, even if it's coming from the opposition.
4. Get the federal government out of our lives as much as possible.
This is a much-overlooked cause of public rancor. But think about it: Very few of us have much influence on or control over federal law, and it is extremely difficult to change a federal statute or regulation, or a Supreme Court decision once it's in place -- which is one reason why Democrats have been so focused on implementing their preferred policies that way. But this methodology has left millions of Americans feeling voiceless, powerless and resentful. Of course the left is completely freaking out now that Republicans are in control of every branch of the federal government. Well, it's sauce for the goose, as they say. By contrast, it is far easier to have a say -- and therefore, an impact -- on the law at the state, county or local level. And truthfully, it's harder to demonize your political opponents at those levels. Are you really going to spread lies about them when you're working with them every day on the school board or city council?
5. Be more entrepreneurial about problems.
The federal government is a very lousy place to try to solve most people's problems. It is bloated, ineffective and inefficient, even when circumstances call for radical change. Consider the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ability to pivot quickly in response to a problem is characteristic of small organizations, not large ones this is as true in the private sector as it is in government. When solutions are proposed at the level of state or local government, affected parties have an easier time responding to new information and changing course if need be. There are 242 million adults in the United States. Do you seriously think that the vast majority of them are not as capable of handling issues as some bureaucrat in Washington, D.C.?
6. Stop trying to perfect society.
I didn't say, "improve"; I said, "perfect." There's no such thing as utopia. You are never going to get everyone to agree with you, approve of you or live their lives as you think they should. And this is true notwithstanding the explosion of legislation or lawsuits. The pursuit of societal perfection (whatever that is) is smothering the "live and let live" sensibility that makes it possible for the 324 million people in the United States to live together amicably.
7. Use persuasion, not power.
Appeal to people's rational self-interest and compassion. Successful advertising, marketing and social media campaigns do this every day.
What do all of these things have in common? A belief in the basic goodness of others and a willingness to let them show it. They would be a good start.

Trump Is Sharpening the Axe
By Michael Swartz: Budget cuts are something incoming administrations generally promise but seldom deliver. However, the prospect of a Donald Trump administration has put enough fear into the bureaucracy that nearly three of ten federal employees don't plan on staying long enough to see what The Donald will be doing to government. We'll believe it when we see it. (Not surprisingly, that same survey of government employees revealed that 62% of respondents voted for liar-Hillary Clinton, compared to just 28% for Trump.)
And it's no wonder that fiscal conservatives are salivating at this thought. Imagine the liberal horror at the thought of a federal government that no longer funds the often scatological and pornographic byproducts of the National Endowment for the Arts and its sister National Endowment for the Humanities. Imagine their angst at the prospect of privatizing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. (Hint: it's already started.)
"Insiders" expect overall budget cuts of 10% and staff cuts to 20%, numbers they say would "rock Washington." Steep cuts are also expected in several departments, most specifically Energy and Commerce, but also in Justice, State and Transportation. Even the Defense Department could be affected in the area of procurement.
Of course, these cuts would also curtail the boom times in the capital regions of Maryland and Virginia, where government-addled cities and counties surrounding the District — many of them boasting the highest median incomes in the country — will have to get by with fewer cars on their taxpayer-funded gravy train. What this means, of course, is that headlines about homelessness and unemployment and the stagnant economy will be back in style again after an eight-year absence. And the elite media won't have to stray too far to find those sob stories — which sure beats having to report from rural areas in the South or rundown parts of the Rust Belt.
Seriously, though, a 10% budget cut would net a savings of about $400 billion, but that only brings us back to the spending levels of the leanest liar-nObama budget (or the most bloated one ever submitted by George W. Bush, in 2008). It's worth noting that so far in this century, through the years of Bush and liar-nObama, our federal budget has just about doubled from $2 trillion to $4 trillion — and there's no indication that Trump wants to make the sort of spending cuts that would require significant entitlement reform.
Yet, to quote the old axiom, the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. There's enough low-hanging budget fruit to satisfy those who wish to see spending cuts for years to come, so just getting the trend in the right direction will be a "yuuuge" accomplishment from the incoming president. Could it be that the era of Big Government is once again truly over?

liar-nObama’s self-revealing final act

His unquiet final acts were, in part, overshadowed by a successor who refused to come in quietly and, in part, by liar-nObama’s own endless, sentimental farewell tour. But there was nothing nostalgic or sentimental about liar-nObama’s last acts. Two of them were simply shocking.
Perhaps we should have known. At the 2015 White House correspondents’ dinner, he joked about whether he had a bucket list: “Well, I have something that rhymes with bucket list.”
Turns out, he wasn’t kidding. Commuting the sentence of Chelsea Manning, one of the great traitors of our time, is finger-in-the-eye willfulness. liar-nObama took 28 years off the sentence of a soldier who stole and then released through WikiLeaks almost half a million military reports plus a quarter-million State Department documents.
The cables were embarrassing; the military secrets were almost certainly deadly. They jeopardized the lives not just of American soldiers on two active fronts — Iraq and Afghanistan — but of locals who were, at great peril, secretly aiding and abetting us. After Manning’s documents release, the Taliban “went on a killing spree” according to intelligence sources quoted by Fox News of those who fit the description of individuals working with the United States.
Moreover, we will be involved in many shadowy conflicts throughout the world. Locals will have to choose between us and our enemies. Would you choose a side that is so forgiving of a leaker who betrays her country — and you?
Even the word “leaker” is misleading. “Leak” makes it sound like a piece of information a whistleblower gives Woodward and Bernstein to expose misdeeds in high office. This was nothing of the sort. It was the indiscriminate dumping of a mountain of national security secrets certain to bring harm to American troops, allies and interests.
liar-nObama considered Manning’s 35-year sentence excessive. On the contrary. It was lenient. Manning could have been — and in previous ages, might well have been — hanged for such treason. Now she walks after seven years.
What makes this commutation so spectacularly in-your-face is its hypocrisy. Here is a president who spent weeks banging the drums over the harm inflicted by WikiLeaks with its release of stolen materials and emails during the election campaign. He demanded a report immediately. He imposed sanctions on Russia. He preened about the sanctity of the American political process.
Over what? What exactly was released? A campaign chairman’s private emails and Democratic National Committee chatter, i.e., campaign gossip, backbiting, indiscretions and cynicism. The usual stuff, embarrassing but not dangerous. No national security secrets, no classified material, no exposure of anyone to harm, just to ridicule and opprobrium.
The other last-minute liar-nObama bombshell occurred four weeks earlier when, for the first time in nearly a half-century, the United States abandoned Israel on a crucial Security Council resolution, allowing the passage of a condemnation that will plague both Israel and its citizens for years to come. After eight years of reassurance, liar-nObama seized the chance — free of political accountability for himself and his potential Democratic successor — to do permanent damage to Israel. The U.S. has no power to reverse the Security Council resolution.
Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. who went on to be a great Democratic senator, once argued passionately that in the anti-American, anti-democratic swamp of the U.N., America should act unwaveringly in opposition and never give in to the jackals. liar-nObama joined the jackals.
Why? To curry favor with the international left? After all, liar-nObama leaves office as a relatively young man of 55. His next chapter could very well be as a leader on the international stage, perhaps at the U.N. (secretary-general?) or some transnational (ostensibly) human rights organization. What better demonstration of bona fides than a gratuitous attack on Israel? Or the about-face on Manning and WikiLeaks? Or the freeing of a still unrepentant Puerto Rican terrorist, Oscar Lopez Rivera, also pulled off with three days remaining in his presidency.
A more likely explanation, however, is that these are acts not of calculation but of authenticity. This is liar-nObama being liar-nObama. He leaves office as he came in: a man of the left, but possessing the intelligence and discipline to suppress his more radical instincts. As of Nov. 9, 2016, suppression was no longer necessary.
We’ve just gotten a glimpse of his real self. From now on, we shall see much more of it.

The usual stuff, embarrassing but not dangerous. No national security secrets, no classified material, no exposure of anyone to harm, just to ridicule and opprobrium.
The other last-minute liar-nObama bombshell occurred four weeks earlier when, for the first time in nearly a half-century, the United States abandoned Israel on a crucial Security Council resolution, allowing the passage of a condemnation that will plague both Israel and its citizens for years to come. After eight years of reassurance, liar-nObama seized the chance — free of political accountability for himself and his potential Democratic successor — to do permanent damage to Israel. The U.S. has no power to reverse the Security Council resolution.
Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. who went on to be a great Democratic senator, once argued passionately that in the anti-American, anti-democratic swamp of the U.N., America should act unwaveringly in opposition and never give in to the jackals. liar-nObama joined the jackals.
Why? To curry favor with the international left? After all, liar-nObama leaves office as a relatively young man of 55. His next chapter could very well be as a leader on the international stage, perhaps at the U.N. (secretary-general?) or some transnational (ostensibly) human rights organization. What better demonstration of bona fides than a gratuitous attack on Israel? Or the about-face on Manning and WikiLeaks? Or the freeing of a still unrepentant Puerto Rican terrorist, Oscar Lopez Rivera, also pulled off with three days remaining in his presidency.
A more likely explanation, however, is that these are acts not of calculation but of authenticity. This is liar-nObama being liar-nObama. He leaves office as he came in: a man of the left, but possessing the intelligence and discipline to suppress his more radical instincts. As of Nov. 9, 2016, suppression was no longer necessary.
We’ve just gotten a glimpse of his real self. From now on, we shall see much more of it.

Both Houses of Congress should pass a “Joint Resolution” on the subject of the cyber attacks by Russia and other nations against the United States which makes clear, both to our adversaries and to the incoming Administration, the seriousness with which Congress views, and is prepared to take action over this issue.
Suggested language is as follows:
“The Russian Federation, by it's behavior, by, through, and on behalf of it's leader, Vladimir Putin, is now an “Enemy” of the United States, within the meaning of Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution of the United States”.
In passing this resolution, it should be made clear to the world that Russia and the United States are not at War, nor is this a declaration of such. It should also be made clear that the Russian Federation is not the ONLY “Enemy” of the United States, at this moment. It is just the only one named here and now for the sake of clarity.
The incoming Administration (and anyone who may decide to act in violation of any sanctions imposed by Congress) should be advised that any such behavior will now constitute “Treason against the United States” and is subject to prosecution as such, whether by Criminal prosecution or impeachment, or other removal from office, or both, depending on the position, if any, of the person or persons who may violate any existing or future sanctions against an “Enemy” of the United States.

The Opportunity of Trump's Inauguration
Today marks the end of an error. As we go to press, Donald Trump is taking the oath of office to serve as the 45th president of the United States, and Barack liar-nObama will retire to a palatial home in DC from which he still plans to cause trouble. But at least he'll have no power, and change can really take hold.
We've certainly expressed our differences with Trump over the last 18 months, and we stand ready to continue our undaunted advocacy for the Constitution and Rule of Law. But we're encouraged by Trump's cabinet picks and many of his early plans. As any American Patriot should do, we hope he'll succeed in undoing liar-nObama's disastrous legacy on his way to Making America Great Again.
Unfortunately, Trump enters office with record low approval (i.e., virtually no political capital) and a hateful and vigorous opposition, entrenched and ready for battle. Yes, the Democrat base is made up of tender "snowflakes" who can do little except protest or play with Legos, but Democrats in Congress will give Trump no quarter. And as The Wall Street Journal put it, "No President since Nixon will face a more hostile resistance in the press and permanent bureaucracy." Indeed, Democrats and their Leftmedia accomplices have spent the last two months doing everything possible to delegitimize Trump — to undermine him before he's even inaugurated.
The benefit of this starting point is that every small success will improve Trump's standing with the American people. As he moves to lower taxes and reduce regulation, Americans will begin to feel it — more jobs and more income. As one West Virginia resident put it, "If Trump can do half of what he says he's going to do and wants to do, the country will be better off." Emerging from liar-nObama's eight years of economic malaise should be more than enough to earn Trump some political capital. So as the Trump Era dawns, we see it as morning in America.

The Left's Sick Assassination Day Dream
If CNN desires to re-establish any semblance of credibility as a news organization after last week's fiasco on that fictitious dossier on Donald Trump, its recent report on the question of presidential succession doesn't help. CNN ran a story where it introduced the question, "What if an incoming president and his immediate successors were wiped out on day one?" CNN went way beyond the role of high school civics teacher with this despicable clap trap.
Even during its report, CNN seemingly recognized the poor taste of the question, and attempted to justify the inquiry into the presidential succession process by stating that the government's plan is so unclear that it could lead to uncertainty and create "the potential for chaos." But if that's so, then CNN contradicted its own justification for airing the piece as it proceeded to delineate the exact plan the government has established should this worst-case scenario occur.
First, in the history of the nation, there is no historical precedent for even raising this question beyond academic concerns or Hollywood movies. It's simply not a relevant question. Second, imagine if a major news media organization had raised this same question in 2009 upon the inauguration of Barack liar-nObama. The narrative would have been that those racist conservatives were calling for the assassination of the newly elected president because he was black.
So what's CNN's angle here? It may be best to classify this story as CNN voicing its own leftist daydream of "how many Republicans would need to be knocked off before a Democrat would end up as president?" But those are some seriously sour grapes from the Leftmedia.

Denmark clamps down on Refugee Child Marriages

Copenhagen ‘justified‘ the reversal of its position by stating that preventing this type of child abuse might amount to an infringement of the fundamental refugees’ rights. A Parting Shot at Personal Freedom

{jewishworldreview.com} ~ On Jan. 3, outgoing Attorney General Loretta Lynch secretly signed an order directing the National Security Agency — America's 60,000-person-strong domestic spying apparatus — to make available raw spying data to all other federal intelligence agencies, which then can pass it on to their counterparts in foreign countries and in the 50 states upon request. She did so, she claimed, for administrative convenience. Yet in doing this, she violated basic constitutional principles that were erected centuries ago to prevent just what she did.
Here is the back story.
In the aftermath of former President Richard Nixon's abusive utilization of the FBI and CIA to spy on his domestic political opponents in the 1960s and '70s — and after Nixon had resigned from office in the wake of all that — Congress passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which created a secret court that was charged with being the sole authority in America that can authorize domestic spying for non-law enforcement purposes.
The standard for a FISA court authorization was that the subject of the spying needed to be a foreign person in the United States who was an agent of a foreign power. It could be a foreign janitor in a foreign embassy, a foreign spy masquerading as a diplomat, even a foreign journalist working for a media outlet owned by a foreign government.
The American spies needed a search warrant from the FISA court. Contrary to the Constitution, the search warrant was given based not on probable cause of crime but rather on probable cause of the status of the person as an agent of a foreign power. This slight change from "probable cause of crime" to "probable cause of foreign agency" began the slippery slope that brought us to Lynch's terrible order of Jan. 3.
After the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, numerous other statutes were enacted that made spying easier and that continued to erode the right to be left alone guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment. The Patriot Act permitted FBI agents to write their own search warrants for business records including medical, legal, postal and banking records, and amendments to FISA itself changed the wording from probable cause "of foreign agency" to probable cause of being "a foreign person" to all Americans who may "communicate with a foreign person."
As if Americans were children, Congress made those sleight-of-hand changes with no hoopla and little serious debate. Our very elected representatives — who took an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution — instead perverted it.
It gets worse.
The recent USA Freedom Act permits the NSA to ask the FISA court for a search warrant for any person — named or unnamed — based on the standard of "governmental need." One FISA court-issued warrant I saw authorized the surveillance of all 115 million domestic customers of Verizon. The governmental need standard is no standard at all, as the government will always claim that what it wants, it needs.
All these statutes and unauthorized spying practices have brought us to where we were on Jan. 2 — namely, with the NSA having a standard operating procedure of capturing every keystroke on every computer and mobile device, every telephone conversation on every landline and cellphone, and all domestic electronic traffic — including medical, legal and banking records — of every person in America 24/7, without knowing of or showing any wrongdoing on the part of those spied upon.
The NSA can use data from your cellphone to learn where you are, and it can utilize your cellphone as a listening device to hear your in-person conversations, even if you have turned it off — that is, if you still have one of the older phones that can be turned off.
Notwithstanding all of the above gross violations of personal liberty and constitutional norms, the NSA traditionally kept its data — if printed, enough to fill the Library of Congress every year — to itself. So if an agency such as the FBI or the DEA or the New Jersey State Police, for example, wanted any of the data acquired by the NSA for law enforcement purposes, it needed to get a search warrant from a federal judge based on the constitutional standard of "probable cause of crime."
Until now.
Now, because of the Lynch secret order, revealed by The New York Times late last week, the NSA may share any of its data with any other intelligence agency or law enforcement agency that has an intelligence arm based on — you guessed it — the non-standard of governmental need.
So President Barack liar-nObama, in the death throes of his time in the White House, has delivered perhaps his harshest blow to constitutional freedom by permitting his attorney general to circumvent the Fourth Amendment, thereby enabling people in law enforcement to get whatever they want about whomever they wish without a showing of probable cause of crime as the Fourth Amendment requires. That amendment expressly forbids the use of general warrants — search where you wish and seize what you find — and they had never been a lawful tool of law enforcement until Lynch's order.
Down the slope we have come, with the destruction of liberty in the name of safety by elected and appointed government officials. At a time when the constitutionally recognized right to privacy was in its infancy, Justice Louis Brandeis warned all who love freedom about its slow demise. He wrote: "Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding."
Someday we will learn why liar-nObama did this. I hope that when we do, it is at a time when we still have personal liberty in a free society.

While I was getting a coffee, I overheard 8 young people (22-26 years old, 4 males, 4 female) who have been protesting in downtown Portland the last two nights.
I told them I was doing research and asked nicely if they would answer some questions. They were cool with it, so I sat down and went for it.
Ø Three voted. Of the five who didn't, none was registered to vote.
Ø None of them researched independently either candidate.
Ø All were for Hillary but preferred Bernie.
Ø Why the Democratic Candidate?
"More things are taken care of."
"Time to have a woman President."
"Democrats aren't sexist or racist."
Ø Six of them live at home.
Ø All are under their parents insurance.
Ø Two have "real" jobs.
Ø Four aren't working, nor are they trying hard to find a job either.
Ø Parents pay for everything in their life or subsidize it.
Ø Six get money from mom or dad every month.
Ø Three have been on unemployment for 6+ months.
Ø One is at Portland State U, doesn't work, and parents pay for everything.
Ø All 8 said Trump is a racist/sexist. I asked to cite proof ... "That tape, man!"
Ø When I asked, as a man myself, “Have you ever said anything like that when you've been hanging out with your buddies? All four males said "Yes."
Ø Would you say it if you knew you were on tape? All four answered "No."
Ø What's the difference? I asked. “You've all said bad stuff like that. Does that mean you hate women and are a sexual predator?" Nothing. No answer.
Ø None could tell me how our government works ... they didn't know how laws are passed, how the House of Representatives or the Senate work.
Ø None could explain how a bill is passed.
Ø Only one could tell me the difference between legal and illegal immigration. One of them said, "Legal immigration is when you immigrate legally." Seriously.
Ø None could explain the purpose of the Electoral College or how it works. In 10 minutes they felt they had explained everything. Nice kids ... but so ignorant.
I know some awesome, phenomenal young adults; but I'm afraid the majority are like this group. Too many participation trophies, too much coddling by parents and teachers.
In 1944, 18 year-olds stormed the beach at Normandy into almost certain death.
In 2016, 18-year-olds feel unsafe because words hurt their feelings.
This country is in deep something!

Some Women Are More Equal Than Others
By Allyne Caan: On Saturday, gaggles of anti-Trump feminists will descend on Washington to protest The Donald's presidency. The Women's March on Washington claims to "stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families — recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country."
How curious, then, that march organizers disqualified from sponsoring the event a feminist organization whose founder is on record calling Donald Trump "a greedy, narcissistic, misogynistic, adulterer; a corporate mogul (who brags about not being able to be bought, but conveniently leaves out that he's usually the one buying); a Godless, brainless reality TV star."
Why the rejection? Turns out the organization in question — New Wave Feminists (NWF) — is pro-life, and we all know that's an unforgiveable sin on the Left. So when rabid pro-abortionists got wind that NWF was listed among event sponsors, they did what ultra-Leftist women do best: throw a fit. As one woman hysterically tweeted, "Intersectional feminism does not include a pro-life agenda. That's not how it works! [Insert pouty face and foot-stomping here.] The right to choose is a fundamental part of feminism." Unless you choose to be pro-life, that is.
Apparently, solidarity applies only if you support dismembering live babies and selling their body parts for profit. And diversity can go no further than choosing between D&E or suction abortions.
Quickly backtracking from any semblance of open-mindedness, the Women's March issued a statement apologizing for the "error" and confirming that unless you favor killing babies, your diverse feminism is simply not identical enough to Planned Parenthood's to be welcome. No free thinkers allowed. After all, the march takes place the day before the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
Responding to the rejection, NWF founder Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa stated, "It appears that the [Women's March on Washington] only wants to include a 'diverse' array of women who think exactly like them. That's unfortunate, but we will not be deterred." Despite being removed as a sponsor, the group will still march.
As will And Then There Were None (ATTWN), another pro-life group that received a similar rejection after first being approved as an event sponsor. You may recognize ATTWN founder Abby Johnson as the former Planned Parenthood director who left the abortion industry in 2009. Johnson shares on Facebook that after ATTWN applied to be an event partner, she received a phone call from a woman informing her that the application was rejected because all partners "must be supportive of women's reproductive rights." Johnson explains: "I told her that wasn't a problem because we absolutely support reproductive rights, as long as they don't infringe on the rights of individual human beings in the womb. I guess she didn't like that, so she just repeated that we could not be a partner. ... I finally asked, 'So is this a pro-abortion March now?' She hung up."
Oddly, later that day ATTWN was approved and listed as an event sponsor — only to be disqualified once again later.
Of course, this hardly comes as a surprise. Groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL have hijacked the word "feminism" — and are even trying to hijack the word "women" — to advance their infant-dismemberment business. As The Federalist's Joy Pullman notes, "[Feminist Susan B.] Anthony's legacy has become largely a cover for people who profit from killing other humans and selling their dissected body parts for profit. So much for human rights. ... [T]he decline in women identifying themselves as feminists has directly coincided with leading feminists' defenestration of pro-life women to obsess almost exclusively over abortion. Making abortion the core of the women's rights movement isn't helping."
Indeed, nearly 40% of women believe abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, according to the Pew Research Center. With 40% of women unwelcome, Saturday's event can hardly be called a "Women's March."
Turns out that to abortion-fixated females, equality looks good on paper. But when it comes to reality, they believe some women are more equal than others. ~The Patriot Post

President Trump Will Sign Executive Order Sunday to Defund International Planned Parenthood

Even my 9-year old daughter knows that the correct standard is “beyond a reasonable doubt.” The Supreme Court has made this clear many times. At the end of a long speech in which he rewrote history to erase all connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel and criminalized the very notion of Jewish freedom, Arafat declared, “Today I have come bearing an olive branch and a freedom fighter’s gun. Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand. I repeat: Do not let the olive branch fall from my hand.”
Arafat’s offer has served since that time as the foundation of European relations with the Palestinians and the wider Islamic world. It has also been the basis of US-PLO relations for the better part of the past four decades.
His trade was simple and clear.
If you stand with the PLO in its war to annihilate Israel and deny Jewish freedom, then PLO terrorists and our Arab state supporters will leave you alone.
If you refuse to join our war against the Jewish state, we will kill you.
Today, Arafat’s successor, Mahmoud Abbas, is reiterating Arafat’s offer.
Speaking Saturday at the Vatican after the Holy See decided to recognize “Palestine,” Abbas said that if US President-elect Donald Trump goes ahead with his plan to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, it will “fuel extremism in our region, as well as worldwide.”
Abbas’s spokesman was more explicit. Saturday night, Osama Qawasmeh, spokesman for Abbas’s Fatah PLO faction and member of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council, said that if the US moves its embassy to Israel’s capital city, “The gates of hell will be opened in the region and the world.”
Abbas and Qawasmeh also said that the PLO expects that members of the international community will make Trump see the light and abandon his plan.
French President Francois Hollande’s “peace conference” on Sunday was the international community’s way of fulfilling Abbas’s demand.
As multiple commentators have noted, the conference’s purpose wasn’t to promote the prospects for peace. It was to constrain Trump’s policy options for handling the Palestinian war against Israel.
By bringing together representatives of some 70 countries to insist that Israeli homeowners are the moral equivalent of Palestinian terrorists, Hollande and his comrades hoped to box Trump into their PLO-compliant policy.
Spelling out the demand Trump is required to accept, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc-Ayrault parroted the Palestinian threats.
Asked by the French media Sunday if moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem would provoke the Palestinians, Ayrault said, “Of course.”
He then demeaned Trump’s plan to move the embassy as nothing but the regular bluster of American politicians.
In his words, “I think he [Trump] would not be able to do it. It would have extremely serious consequences and it’s not the first time that it’s on the agenda of a US president, but none has let himself make that decision.”
Ayrault is correct about Trump’s predecessors.
To one degree or another, since the early 1970s, successive US administrations have joined the Europeans in selling Israel down the river to prevent Arafat’s minions from pointing their guns at the American people.
Like the Europeans, the Americans have upheld their side of this bargain even when the PLO failed to uphold its end. For instance, in 1973 Arafat ordered his terrorists to storm the Saudi Embassy in Khartoum and take US ambassador Cleo Noel, his deputy, George Curtis Moore, and Belgian diplomat Guy Eid hostage. Arafat then ordered his henchmen to murder the diplomats after then president Richard Nixon rejected his demand to release Robert F. Kennedy’s Palestinian murderer, Sirhan Sirhan, from prison.
Instead of responding to the execution of US diplomats by siding with Israel against the PLO, the US covered up and denied the PLO’s responsibility for the attack for the next 33 years.
The US is still covering up for the PLO’s murder of US embassy personnel in Gaza in 2003. At the same time, it is providing the PLO with nearly three quarters of a billion dollars in direct and indirect annual aid, including the training and provision of its security forces.
The Europeans for their part have egged the US along throughout the years. France has generally led European efforts to convince the Americans to side with Palestinian as well as Hezbollah terrorists in their war against Israel in the name of “peace.”
Sunday morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed the Paris conference as a “futile” relic of a period that is about to end.
Netanyahu said that the conference’s goal of boxing Israel into an untenable framework for dealing the Palestinians was nothing more than the “final palpitations of a yesterday’s world.”
“Tomorrow,” he intoned, “will look a lot different. And tomorrow is very close.”
Trump will take office on Friday. Since he was elected, he has given every reason to believe that Abbas and his deputies and their European and American enablers will have to either put up or shut up.
Speaking of the president-elect, Henry Kissinger said that Trump is the first man in recent memory who doesn’t owe anybody anything for his victory.
The only people he is answerable to are the voters who elected him.
Trump’s electoral victory owes to his success in tapping into the deep reservoir of popular disaffection with the elitist culture and policies that have governed post-Cold War West. He has used the mandate he received from American voters to revisit the basic assumptions that have driven US policies for the past generation.
His skepticism at NATO and the EU are examples of his refusal to simply accept the received wisdom of his predecessors. Just this weekend he told Germany’s Bild magazine that he continues to question the purpose of NATO, which is a drag on US taxpayers and doesn’t fight terrorism.
He similarly restated his ambivalence toward the EU and that its open border policy has been a “catastrophic failure,” and he expects more countries to follow Britain’s lead and exit the EU.
Trump’s position on the PLO and the Palestinian war on Israel is of a piece with his wider rejection of the common wisdom of Western elites. Just as he didn’t hesitate to say that the EU mainly serves as an instrument for Germany to dominate the European market, so he has made no mystery of his rejection of the moral equivalence between Israel and Palestinian terrorists which forms the basis of the twostate formula.
Not only won’t Trump join the liar-nObama administration and the French in criminalizing Israeli homeowners, Trump is celebrating them. He has invited the leaders of Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria – that is, the so-called “settlements” – to attend his inauguration.
And he appears dead serious about moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
Under these circumstances, Israel has the opportunity and the obligation to end the PLO’s ability to threaten the US, not to mention itself. It is Israel’s duty to ensure that the next time the PLO tries to exact a price in blood for America’s refusal to abide by the terms of Arafat’s blackmail, his terrorist group is finally destroyed.
Similarly, Israel is now obliged to take the lead and abandon the PLO-friendly two-state policy, which blames Israel for Palestinian terrorism, and adopt a strategy that works in its place.
Netanyahu has refused to consider any alternative until after Barack liar-nObama is out of office.
Consultations must be scheduled for Saturday night.

My name is MAJ(R) Matthew Wadler. I served honorably for just over 20 years. During that time, it was my distinct privilege to serve in a multitude of organizations and specialties. This included starting my career as a young paratrooper with the Military Police Corps at Fort Bragg and a deployment to Somalia. That was a unique and educational experience for me in ways that I would not come to understand for many years to come.
After six years of service to our nation, I applied for and received an Army ROTC scholarship. This was a momentous occasion for me, as I felt that I would be able to have much more of an impact as an officer in service to America. During the next 15 years, I was blessed to have served in many unique positions. This includes my time as a Field Artillery Officer at Fort Bragg where I had my first deployment to Afghanistan, then as a Recruiting Company Commander, followed by Assistant S1 for the 4th BCT (Currahee Brigade) out of Fort Campbell where I had my second Afghanistan deployment, the Brigade S1 for the 15th Sustainment BDE at Fort Bliss, and finally back to recruiting as a Battalion XO and S3.
During my time in the military, I have always held the highest regard for the office of president. I believe that anyone who ascends to the office of president is no longer really a person. They are the embodiment of all that America signifies. Who you are as a person no longer matters. From now until the end of time, you are the physical embodiment of the United States of America. Just based upon that alone, you are given respect and honor without the need to have brought honor upon yourself.
I may have disagreed with your decisions politically. In fact, I cannot honestly not think of a single decision that you have made in accordance with your official capacity that I have actually agreed with. For example, when you lowered yourself to not only campaigning for liar-Hillary Clinton but making snide comments to Trump (“At least I will go down as being a president”), I basically ignored it. Or when earlier in your presidency you called out the police for “acting stupidly,” and then later made the office of the president look moronic for completely misrepresenting the facts, I basically blew it off. I was even able to overlook how you stated that there was a red line with Syria that you ignored, allowing countless people to die a horrible death and doing nothing about it, making us look pathetically weak to our enemies and allies alike. Even with all of this, you were my president, and I respected the office you held. We follow your orders because we know at the end of the day you will hold true to the values we are supposed to emulate: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personal courage. How could you turn your back on the men and women who have bled and died on your command?
Let us look at Bradley Manning for a moment, Mr. President. PFC Manning took classified documents because he apparently wanted to stop the war by showing just how convoluted and horrible war can be. What he actually did was potentially cost the lives of his fellow soldiers. The democratic party wants to parade President Trump as a recruiting tool for the Islamic terrorists, yet how many killers did this turncoat help to recruit? How many men and women will never again return home due to him? Of course, this is not a concern of yours. After all, there will always be a round of golf to help take your mind off such things of inconsequential magnitude.
Again, Manning professes his desire to show the horror of war, yet we already know of this, or at least the warriors who are suffering from his cowardice do. Combat is horrible and awful. It leaves scars that run deep and permanent. But that is not your concern, Mr. President. You don’t need to understand the effect war has on those who engage in it. We volunteered to take on that badge for the rest of the nation. We don’t ask for you pity or remorse. What we ask is that you honor our sacrifice by ensuring our values are kept sacred and that when one of our own violates them, they are punished swiftly and with absolute justice.
How can you expect the men and women who are fighting your wars to keep faith when they know that you are not going to punish those who betray them? During my second tour in Afghanistan, my unit lost a soldier on a mission. I had never met this man, and to this day I could not identify him even if I saw a picture of him. However, his death haunts me often. See, he was killed by an insurgent who had become an Afghanistan police officer. He was actually shot in the head from behind, so he never even had a chance to defend himself. Why would this soldier’s death affect me so much? It was when I discovered from his platoon leader that he died on his young daughter’s birthday and that she was expecting a call from her daddy, who was deployed on your orders, Mr. President. This is the gift you give to her and all of those who lost parents, brothers, sisters, etc. Her life will always be missing something because of the sacrifice he was willing to make. And you honor that sacrifice by allowing a war criminal to go free. Not even just a war criminal, but a former brother in arms for whom any of us would have given our lives.
President liar-nObama, I cannot begin to express to you the outrage and betrayal I feel. My nation has turned on all of us who swore to protect it—remember you are not a man anymore but the embodiment of all that this great nation represents. I don’t expect any of this to affect you. I don’t believe you lower yourself to feel the pain of those who followed your orders into battle. Nor can I envision you actually concerning yourself with the opinion of one lowly veteran. My name is MAJ(R) Matthew Wadler. I served honorably for just over 20 years. During that time, it was my distinct privilege to serve in a multitude of organizations and specialties. This included starting my career as a young paratrooper with the Military Police Corps at Fort Bragg and a deployment to Somalia. After six years of service to our nation, I applied for and received an Army ROTC scholarship. This includes my time as a Field Artillery Officer at Fort Bragg where I had my first deployment to Afghanistan, then as a Recruiting Company Commander, followed by Assistant S1 for the 4th BCT (Currahee Brigade) out of Fort Campbell where I had my second Afghanistan deployment, the Brigade S1 for the 15th Sustainment BDE at Fort Bliss, and finally back to recruiting as a Battalion XO and S3.
During my time in the military, I have always held the highest regard for the office of president. I believe that anyone who ascends to the office of president is no longer really a person. They are the embodiment of all that America signifies. Who you are as a person no longer matters. From now until the end of time, you are the physical embodiment of the United States of America. Just based upon that alone, you are given respect and honor without the need to have brought honor upon yourself.
I may have disagreed with your decisions politically. In fact, I cannot honestly not think of a single decision that you have made in accordance with your official capacity that I have actually agreed with. For example, when you lowered yourself to not only campaigning for liar-Hillary Clinton but making snide comments to Trump (“At least I will go down as being a president”), I basically ignored it. Or when earlier in your presidency you called out the police for “acting stupidly,” and then later made the office of the president look moronic for completely misrepresenting the facts, I basically blew it off. I was even able to overlook how you stated that there was a red line with Syria that you ignored, allowing countless people to die a horrible death and doing nothing about it, making us look pathetically weak to our enemies and allies alike. Even with all of this, you were my president, and I respected the office you held. Finally, the Final Press Conference
National Review's Jim Geraghty posted perhaps the best headline we've read all year: "Tonight, the Sun Sets on the liar-nObama Administration for the Last Time." Heck, that might be the best headline in eight years.
But Barack liar-nObama isn't gone just yet. Wednesday afternoon, America endured one last press conference with him. It was every bit as tedious as the previous 164, so we'll simply counter two things: His defense of pardoning Bradley Manning and liar-nObama's future plans.
"Chelsea Manning has served a tough prison sentence," liar-nObama said, referring to Manning's transgender "female" alter ego. "The notion that the average person who is thinking about disclosing vital classified information would think that it goes unpunished, I don't think would get that impression from the sentence that Chelsea Manning has served," liar-nObama argued. "It made sense to commute — and not pardon her sentence. ... I feel very comfortable that justice has been served, and a message has still been sent."
A message has been sent, all right. As we explained yesterday, PFC Manning is the gender-dysphoric former Army intelligence analyst who was convicted by courts martial in 2013 for acts of espionage. Manning funneled almost 750,000 classified documents to WikiLeaks, endangering American and other lives. On conviction, he received a light 35-year sentence (serving just six of them) with a dishonorable discharge to follow. Manning's espionage, which at the time he intimated was to impress his "partner," ranks near the top of the most treacherous acts of treason in U.S. history.
And his commutation is a middle finger in the face of an American constituency with whom liar-nObama has the lowest rating — American Patriots in uniform.
As for liar-nObama's future plans, the sun may be setting on his administration, but he's not riding off into that sunset to live peaceably. He's laying the groundwork for post-presidential activism. At his final press conference, he pledged to speak out as private citizen at "certain moments where I think our core values may be at stake." Explaining what that means, he said, "I put in that category if I saw systematic discrimination being ratified in some fashion. I put in that category explicit or functional obstacles to people being able to vote, to exercise their franchise. I put in that category institutional efforts to silence dissent or the press. And for me at least I would put in that category efforts to round up kids who have grown up here and for all practical purposes are American kids and send them somewhere else, when they love this country."
In other words, if anyone deviates from or tries to undo his legacy, he'll run to the nearest microphone. Is there any doubt the Leftmedia will happily provide him one? ~The Patriot Post

Democrats have a long-running love affair with Marxist revolutionaries. Displaying the mentality of a starry-eyed high school girl whose infatuation with the bad boy blinds her to danger, Democrats seem to lose all semblance of objectivity when it comes to these leftist terrorists. Both Jimmy Carter and Bill liar-Clinton freed Marxist terrorists as they were leaving office and now Barack liar-nObama has followed suit in his freeing of Oscar Lopez-Rivera.
Lopez-Rivera was convicted in 1981 for his actions in working to build bombs intended to destroy government property, seditious conspiracy, for the illegal transportation of firearms and armed robbery. He was sentence to 55 years in prison. Lopez-Rivera was a member of the Puerto Rican Marxist terrorist organization known as the Armed Forces of National Liberation (FALN), which was responsible for nearly 150 bombings and several armed robberies. The group was active from 1974 to 1983. One bombing in New York City in 1975 killed four and injured more than 50 people. FALN's objective was to "free" Puerto Rico from U.S. control and bring about a Cuban-like communist dictatorship on the island.
New York City Councilman Joe Borelli stated, "Commuting his sentence proves that liar-nObama and most liberals are out of touch with reality and [are] willing to sacrifice all norms in the name of progressivism." Meanwhile, leftists like Lin-Manuel Miranda of "Hamilton" fame celebrated, tweeting that he was "sobbing with gratitude." And one-time member of the Weather Underground terrorist group — infamous liar-nObama buddy Bill Ayers — excitedly tweeted, "Oscar Lopez freed!"
This decision is actually not surprising given liar-nObama's actions in normalizing relations with communist Cuba. He ignored the atrocities committed by Fidel Castro's regime as he has now overlooked the guilt of a similarly un-repentant terrorist, who refused liar-Clinton's offer of a pardon in 1999 on the condition that he disavow the use of terrorism. Kory Flowers, a North Carolina-based law enforcement expert on domestic anarchists and criminal subversive groups, describes the persistent pot stirrers as “cause parasites.” In 2012, at the Democratic National Convention, where international media coverage was assured, Flowers reported that anarchists had manufactured “urine-filled eggs, acid-filled Christmas ornaments, and water guns containing urine, all meant to be used against the law enforcement security forces throughout the city.”
Five years later, investigative journalist James O’Keefe exposed D.C.-based anarchists associated with the #DisruptJ20 (Jan. 20) movement on tape this week as they were plotting to invade inaugural balls with stink bombs, trigger sprinkler systems to force attendees out in the cold, chain themselves to Metro trains and hunt down city officials who act against them.
“If you try to close us down, we will look for your house. We will burn it. We will physically fight the police if they try to steal one of our places. We will go to war, and you will lose,” one plotter threatened.

Their outrage and complaints are clearly motivatived by partisan butt hurt and not by any concern for our national security or democracy.
Though James Cartwright gets little attention, it was Cartwright who leaked the existence of the Stuxnet virus that, along with the Israelis, we used to temporarily incapacitate the Iranian nuclear program. Cartwright’s leak had the effect of undermining both our and Israel’s national security and made it more difficult for us to be able to use such cyber attacks in the future. Likewise, it more likely than not emboldened foreign governments interested in doing the same to us. I am not surprised that Barack liar-nObama would pardon a man who hurt Israel’s national security.
Bradley Manning, too, directly sought to cripple our national security. His advocates claim that Manning was just a whistle blower, but saying so is revisionist history. Manning leaked critical intelligence to Wikileaks that included names of people helping the United States and other valuable national security data. His actions put the lives of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines in jeopardy. His actions may have actually cost lives of those who tried to help us against terrorists.
We know for certain Manning’s trial, Osama Bin Laden himself had requested a collection of documents for review that were on Wikileaks’ website. Those documents had been leaked by Manning.
While Bradley Manning has generated sympathy in our identity politics filled world by declaring himself “Chelsea” and seeking taxpayer funded sex reassignment, he is a traitor who aided and abetted our enemies.
That the Democrats are outraged at Russia trying to disrupt our elections, but are cheering on Bradley Manning is another example of how unserious they are. To be upset with Russia, but treat Manning a hero is hypocrisy at its finest. It is worth noting that Manning helped put Wikileaks on the map and Wikileaks would not have had the stature in 2016 to credibly leak DNC emails had Bradley Manning not first helped Wikileaks.
Likewise, it goes without saying that those Republicans who have cheered on Wikileaks for revealing DNC emails, but are upset with liar-nObama pardoning Bradley Manning should rethink their kind words toward Wikileaks.
Finally, we should offer up a small bit of sympathy for both Edward Snowden and Beau Bergdahl who are both, no doubt, considering whether a castration in the next twenty-four hours might aid their pardon efforts. I think it is a fair statement to say that if Bradley Manning had not been a mentally disturbed gay man trying to become a woman, he would not be seen as sympathetically by the American left.

In 1790 the total population of the United States was 3.9 million and there were 59 members in the House of Representatives. There was one Representative for every 66,000 people.
Today a population of 330 million and have 435 members of the House of Representatives. There is one representative for every 750,000 If the ratio of today existed in 1790 there would have only been 4 or 5 members in the House of Representatives
In the Congressional Districts of today the Representatives wield much greater power than they did in the early days of our country. Conversely the power of the people has diminished significantly.
The war for American independence was fought over the colonists lack of representation in the British Parliament. The colonist knew their rights as British citizens were being ignored.
Today, the American people are being victimized all over again by our own government. Just like in the 1770's, the voice of the people is not being heard. By increasing representation in the House, the political power will shift from Congress the people.

liar-nObama's WikiLeaks Deal for Manning
By Lee Crockett: This week, WikiLeaks issued this demand: "If Democrats want to see whistle blowers ... under Trump, they need to send a signal: release Chelsea Manning." Within 24 hours, Barack liar-nObama complied.
Pursuing his legacy makeover, liar-nObama has filled his last month in office with surreal "deals" on behalf of his most ardent constituencies, including one for his homosexual base and his "gay military" agenda.
On Tuesday, after months of liar-nObama's post-election protests regarding stolen information being funneled to WikiLeaks — which made the machinations of the Democratic Party and his heir-apparent, liar-Hillary Clinton, much too "transparent" — he commuted the sentence of Army Private First Class Bradley "Chelsea" Manning.
PFC Manning, as you recall, is the gender-dysphoric former Army intelligence analyst who was convicted by courts martial in 2013 of treasonous acts of espionage. Manning funneled almost 750,000 classified documents to WikiLeaks, and on conviction, received a light 35-year sentence with a dishonorable discharge to follow. Manning's espionage, which at the time he intimated was to impress his "partner," ranks near the top of the most treacherous acts of treason in U.S. history. liar-nObama's commutation allows Manning to walk with an honorable discharge less than four years after sentencing — and this after Manning's prosecutors already acquiesced to pressure not to seek the death penalty for treason.
In September 2016, the ACLU, representing one of Manning's numerous gender confusion cases against the military, announced that the Army would grant his request for "gender reassignment" surgery. liar-nObama will no doubt attempt to justify Manning's commutation by insisting he is a "victim," and confining a transgendered "woman" to an all-male prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, is cruel and unusual punishment. Manning, like so many transgendered individuals, did attempt suicide, after all.
But make no mistake — liar-nObama's commutation is much more than constituent appeasement. It is a middle finger in the face of an American constituency with whom he has the lowest rating — American Patriots in uniform. Only 15% of American military personnel, who have taken a blood oath "to Support and Defend" our Constitution, approve of their commander in chief.
They will bear the burden of liar-nObama's ill-advised political retreat from Iraq, which gave rise to the Islamic State and an epic humanitarian crisis.
Few insults are more repulsive to the military community than the commutation of an unquestionably deserved sentence (albeit a light one) for Manning, especially when compared to liar-nObama's forced resignation and prosecution of former CIA Director, Gen. David Petraeus, for discussing minor classified matters with his military biographer. Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge.
Of course, liar-nObama also defended liar-Hillary Clinton's security breaches uncovered during the Benghazi investigation. Clearly he only seeks "justice" when it promotes his agenda and protects his friends.
The commutation of Manning's sentence, the most recent and arguably most unjustified of liar-nObama's 1,385 commutations (504 of which were life sentences), provides a clear perspective into Barack liar-nObama's anti-American ideology. (For the record, George W. Bush approved only 11 commutations.)
Speaker Paul Ryan poignantly notes, "liar-nObama now leaves in place a dangerous precedent that those who compromise our national security won't be held accountable for their crimes." Sen. John McCain added, "It is a ... fitting commentary on liar-nObama's failed national security policies that he would commute the sentence of an individual [who] endangered the lives of American troops, diplomats, and intelligence sources."
Manning's commutation, following the Defense Department's implementation of a myriad of gender disorientation policies, is yet another military morale buster. It cuts deep for service personnel who quietly and humbly do their job day in and day out, even if they disagree with the commander in chief's motives. But after more than 2,500 combat-theater deaths and thousands more casualties under liar-nObama's watch, while he has devoted more time and energy to championing gender-neutral bathrooms on military installations, should we expect anything less?
If Manning's commutation is any sign of what lies in store for the next 48 hours, our men and women in uniform are praying that Friday gets here quickly. ~The Patriot Post

John Lewis didn't pay taxes on D.C. townhouse

{city-journal.org} ~ Give President liar-nObama credit: he didn’t wait until he was in the limousine on his way to Donald Trump’s inauguration to commute Oscar López Rivera’s prison sentence. Had he waited until mid-morning Friday, January 20, to do it, his symbolic sanction of domestic terrorism might have escaped the average American’s notice. Those who did notice might have called him a coward, but their objections would have been drowned out amid the day’s oaths and protests.
As it is, liar-nObama chose to do it on Tuesday afternoon, January 17, at the same time he commuted the sentence of the American traitor Chelsea Manning. In its way, the out-in-the-open quality of these commutations is a statement of principle. Americans of every political stripe now have a chance to consider what the president has done. It was a bold move. It said: This is the real me. This is my idea of justice.
López Rivera is sworn enemy of the United States who admitted to his role as a leader of the Fuerzas Armadas de Liberación Nacional (FALN), the clandestine Puerto Rican nationalists who planted more than 130 bombs during the 1970s, mostly in Chicago and New York. The bill of indictments against the FALN and López Rivera need not be rehearsed here. He never denied anything. You can look it up.
In the 35 years that he has been behind bars, López Rivera has never indicated that he is sorry for the death and destruction he sowed during his days of rage. His steadfast commitment to violence has naturally attracted legions of left-wing admirers. They are, in the main, hashtag guerrillas who lionize the FALN’s twisted ideology and apologize for its murderous deeds from the comfort of their keyboards. Some, like New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and Hamilton: The Musical creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, call López Rivera a “freedom fighter.” They say that there’s no physical evidence that he killed anyone. “The CIA did horrible things in Puerto Rico,” they offer in justification for the FALN’s bombing campaigns. “The U.S. colonized and brutalized a defenseless island.”
The appeal to old grievances is the last resort of the radical poseur. Take it from an Irish-American. I know plenty about what “they” did to “us” during “colonial days.” I know how badly those “imperialist bastards” treated our ancestors. At least in Ireland, the “freedom fighters” mostly confined themselves to attacking British soldiers and each other. The world turned against the Irish Republicans when they began targeting British civilians.
The FALN was always less discriminating. On January 24, 1975, these self-styled freedom fighters planted a ten-pound dynamite bomb in a dining room at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan because, they said, “reactionary corporate executives” would be dining there. Harold Sherbourne, Frank Connor, Alejandre Berger, and James Gezork were killed that day. Civilians all, they lost their lives to the revolutionary vanity of López Rivera and his bandit friends. Then, as now, a tiny fraction of Puerto Ricans support the FALN’s nationalist ambitions.
During his years as the FALN mastermind, López Rivera made women into widows and children into orphans. President liar-nObama is a father, and by all accounts a superb one. I know he can imagine how it would feel for Sasha and Malia to be left fatherless. He’s a smart guy, too, full of empathy, so he must know that the trauma of such a thing would never heal—not even after 42 years. The children of those whom the FALN killed still don’t have fathers. They never will.
Yet, despite his vaunted intelligence and celebrated empathy, Obama went ahead and made this appalling decision. All that mattered, it seems, was that the cool crowd wanted López Rivera to go free. Clearly, liar-nObama wasn’t thinking about Frank Connor’s family or other American families whose lives were blown apart by FALN bombs. Instead, he gave aid and comfort to America’s enemies.
“López Rivera will answer to a higher authority than liar-nObama,” Frank’s son Joe Connor told me last night after the news broke. “And he better be ready.” We’ll see. As for liar-nObama, if the president did anything more shameful during his eight years in office, I must have missed it.

They are, in the main, hashtag guerrillas who lionize the FALN’s twisted ideology and apologize for its murderous deeds from the comfort of their keyboards. Some, like New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and Hamilton: The Musical creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, call López Rivera a “freedom fighter.” They say that there’s no physical evidence that he killed anyone. “The CIA did horrible things in Puerto Rico,” they offer in justification for the FALN’s bombing campaigns. “The U.S. colonized and brutalized a defenseless island.”
The appeal to old grievances is the last resort of the radical poseur. Take it from an Irish-American. I know plenty about what “they” did to “us” during “colonial days.” I know how badly those “imperialist bastards” treated our ancestors. At least in Ireland, the “freedom fighters” mostly confined themselves to attacking British soldiers and each other. The world turned against the Irish Republicans when they began targeting British civilians.
The FALN was always less discriminating. On January 24, 1975, these self-styled freedom fighters planted a ten-pound dynamite bomb in a dining room at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan because, they said, “reactionary corporate executives” would be dining there. Harold Sherbourne, Frank Connor, Alejandre Berger, and James Gezork were killed that day. Civilians all, they lost their lives to the revolutionary vanity of López Rivera and his bandit friends. Then, as now, a tiny fraction of Puerto Ricans support the FALN’s nationalist ambitions.
During his years as the FALN mastermind, López Rivera made women into widows and children into orphans. President liar-nObama is a father, and by all accounts a superb one. I know he can imagine how it would feel for Sasha and Malia to be left fatherless. He’s a smart guy, too, full of empathy, so he must know that the trauma of such a thing would never heal—not even after 42 years. The children of those whom the FALN killed still don’t have fathers. They never will.
Yet, despite his vaunted intelligence and celebrated empathy, Obama went ahead and made this appalling decision. All that mattered, it seems, was that the cool crowd wanted López Rivera to go free. Clearly, liar-nObama wasn’t thinking about Frank Connor’s family or other American families whose lives were blown apart by FALN bombs. Instead, he gave aid and comfort to America’s enemies.
“López Rivera will answer to a higher authority than liar-nObama,” Frank’s son Joe Connor told me last night after the news broke. “And he better be ready.” We’ll see. As for liar-nObama, if the president did anything more shameful during his eight years in office, I must have missed it.

In 1803 Chief Justice John Marshall in the Marybury versus Madison decision declared that the Supreme Court had the lawful authority to be the final arbiter of the Constitution. This power was not delegated to the court, it was an implied power.
This unauthorized usurpation of power has led to the concentration of power into to the hands of Justices that are not accountable to anyone. If the Supreme Court makes a mistake, who is there to prevent a miscarriage of justice?
If they people are sovereign it is the responsibility of the people to decide what is and what is not constitutional.

Gun Grabbers Smear Permit Holders
As we noted last week, congressional Republicans are working to pass national concealed carry reciprocity. Allowing law-abiding citizens who hold concealed carry permits to use them across all state lines makes sense, both in terms of fighting crime and securing fundamental Liberty. That's why the gun grabbers are so furiously fighting it. The anti-Second Amendment Violence Policy Center (VPC) released an updated report this week ominously titled "Concealed Carry Killers." VPC alleges that firearm permit holders have killed at least 921 people in shootings that did not involve self-defense. Since 2007.
We emphasize the decade-long date range for a reason — since 2007, FBI crime statistics show there have been 121,649 murders in the U.S., 81,665 of which were committed with firearms. Thus VPC's number represents 0.01% of all such homicides over the last decade. There were nearly 800 murders in Chicago in 2016, most by firearm. VPC lists just three permit-holder homicides in Illinois over a decade.
By the way, roughly a third of VPC's 921 murders were actually suicides, and not necessarily using firearms. (Side note: Aren't leftists all for assisted suicide?) And a great many of the other 600 are still pending cases — i.e., no convictions yet.
There are currently more than 14.5 million permit holders in the U.S. So, assuming just one murder per permit holder (excluding suicides), that's roughly 0.000041% of all permit holders who committed murder. What's more, some estimates are that firearms are used 2.5 million times per year in self-defense. How many lives saved does that represent?
But that doesn't stop the nefarious effort to paint all gun owners as villains. "As the gun lobby gears up to push for federally-mandated concealed carry, the facts show that far too many people with concealed carry permits commit horrendous crimes on a regular basis," warned Kristen Rand, VPC legislative director. "Sadly, it is no longer surprising when a mass shooter — such as the alleged Fort Lauderdale airport shooter — is legally licensed to carry a concealed firearm."
It is true that concealed carry permit holders are human and sometimes commit crimes, even horrific ones. The permit is not, after all, a certificate of angel wings. But American permit holders are also the most law-abiding demographic. Yes, 921 deaths is awful. One murder is. But VPC's despicable effort to smear gun owners is beyond irresponsible. CBO Still Can't See Straight on liar-nObamaCare
As Donald Trump's inauguration looms, the Left and Democrats are pulling out all the stops in concerted efforts to stop him from making good on his campaign promises. Arguably the biggest promise is the repeal and replacement of that disastrous law known as liar-nObamaCare. On Tuesday, the Congressional Budget Office released a report on last year's Republican repeal bill (which Barack liar-nObama subsequently vetoed). That bill had no provisions for replacing liar-nObamaCare; it was a political maneuver intended to communicate to the American people that Republicans were serious about ending the law.
Yesterday's CBO report predicted liar-nObamaCare's repeal would leave as many as 18 million people without health insurance within two years — and that number would grow to as many as 32 million by the year 2026, due primarily to huge premium increases for health insurance. To put it bluntly, the CBO report reads like a doomsday scenario, and predictably it was just what Democrats wanted to hear. Ignoring the fact that liar-nObamaCare itself is untenable and on the verge of collapse, Democrats would rather tout a problematic report based on old and questionable data, rather than support any attempt to make a better fairer law.
First, it must be noted that this CBO report is based on outdated information. Second, when it comes to liar-nObamaCare, the CBO's past estimates have never been even remotely accurate. For example, the CBO predicted that by 2010 there would be 21 million people enrolled in the liar-nObamaCare exchange; the actual number ended up being 12 million. The report also doesn't take into account the fact that Republicans are seeking to both repeal and replace. Since the replacement plan has yet to be introduced there is no data yet by which to compute the potential impact of the new plan, both on insurance costs and the number of individuals insured.
As always with the Left, it's really not whether the report numbers are valid, but how those numbers can be used to their advantage. For seemingly decades now, Democrats have been much more effective than Republicans at making their case by focusing on the emotional human impact factor rather than on cold stats. Stories of people suffering without a certain law, or if said law is repealed gains wide play. Republicans need to remind America everyday just how bad liar-nObamaCare is by sharing the real life stories of how the law destroyed someone's small business, how it cost someone their job, how it steps all over religious freedom. These are the real effects of liar-nObamaCare — not potential but actual. Republicans need not be afraid to hit back.

50 killed in Tehran building collapse

"The building's caretaker and some firefighters were inside when the building collapsed," said Ahmad, a shop owner in the building. "I've lost my entire stock. It claimed that Russian or Russian-hired hackers tapped into the records of the Democratic National Committee as well as the correspondence of John Podesta, a liar-Clinton advisor.
But what the liar-nObama administration did not say was that such cyber-crimes are by now old hat. Both the Russian and Chinese governments have been hacking into far more important U.S. records and government archives for years without earning retaliation
The administration also did not mention that the election hacking occurred largely because of Podesta's own carelessness in using his security password. Moreover, it failed to acknowledge that the Republican National Committee was likewise targeted, but apparently had enough safeguards to prevent successful entry into its records. Finally, the administration refused to mention that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange went on the record saying that he did not receive the email trove from the Russians.
The truth is that liar-nObama, throughout his presidency, has appeased Putin. As president, liar-nObama ended the previously agreed-on Eastern European missile defense; he made open-mic promises to be more flexible with Putin after his reelection; he barely responded to Russia's aggression toward Crimea and Ukraine; and he constantly criticized both George W. Bush and Mitt Romney for being inordinately tough on Russia.
Until now, he saw no reason to stop enabling Russia. Had liar-Hillary Clinton won the election, Putin's alleged hacking would not have earned any administration attention. But this time around, an emboldened Putin allegedly went too far and crossed the only red line that liar-nObama might have enforced by supposedly enabling the release of information that might have turned off some voters on liar-Clinton. Blaming Putin for liar-Clinton's loss was a more convenient narrative than admitting that liar-nObama's own policies have turned off even traditional Democratic constituencies and for now reduced the Democratic Party to a minority coastal party.
All administrations play fast and loose with the truth. It is the nature of high politics to fib, cover up, and fudge in order to ensure the success of a so-called noble agenda for the greater good. But not since the Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon administrations have we seen a president so institutionalize misrepresentation.
There are ample examples. It was clear from liar-Clinton's own leaked emails and from real-time memos from intelligence agencies that the September 11, 2012 attack on the American consulate in Benghazi was not a spontaneous riot over an insensitive video produced by a reactionary Coptic zealot residing in the United States, as the administration claimed. But such a concoction fit liar-nObama's 2012 reelection narrative: the recklessness of right-wing Islamophobes endangers national security abroad. In contrast, the reality-a preplanned al-Qaeda-affiliated attack on an unprepared and semi-covert American consulate-challenged liar-nObama's reelection myth that Al Qaeda was "on the run" and that the administration was vigilant in ensuring security for our diplomatic personnel in the Middle East.
The U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. at the time, Susan Rice, went on five Sunday morning talk shows to insist, quite wrongly, that the deaths of four Americans in the attack were the tragic result of ad hoc furor over intolerance. The video-maker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was abruptly jailed on probation violation charges, in a display of swift American justice never matched by a commensurately prompt arrest and prosecution of real terrorists.
Another example of liar-nObama administration's misrepresentation concerns U.S. army soldier Bowe Bergdahl, who went AWOL from his post in Afghanistan and ended up a captive of Taliban affiliates from June 2009 until his release in May 2014. The liar-nObama administration conducted lengthy and stealthy negotiations to return the deserter to U.S. custody. As part of the bargain, it agreed to release five Taliban terrorists from the detention center in Guantanamo Bay. In an about-face, an Army command announced last year that Bergdahl will soon be facing charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. Yet to gain Bergdahl's release, the liar-nObama administration fabricated a completely different narrative to justify the embarrassing swap and concessions to the Taliban. Bergdahl, in National Security Advisor Susan Rice's words, "served the United States with honor and distinction."
Upon his release, Bergdahl parents were brought to the White House for photo-ops, where his father appeared with a long beard and shaved lip-not unlike the facial hair worn by his son's Taliban captors. Bill Bergdahl thanked the concerned parties and broke into rudimentary Pashto and Urdu, praising Allah for his son's release. The staged press conference was designed to underscore the administration's view that the son of a multicultural family had naively and innocently wondered off from his compound. But now, young Bergdahl was safe with his family, due to the liar-nObama administration. The disturbing truth was more likely that the administration traded prisoners for a U.S. deserter, while pushing the false narrative of returning an American patriot to his parents.
The far more important Iran nuclear deal of summer 2015 followed a similar pattern of dissimulation. "Bold" and "courageous" Middle East diplomacy nonetheless required White House subterfuge and deceitfulness. Ostensibly only Barack liar-nObama was unaffected by past presidents' prejudices against the revolutionary regime in Iran and thus could appreciate the mutual advantages of a breakthrough agreement to deter Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb-as part of a larger diplomatic effort to return Shiite and Persian Iran to its natural role as a balancing force in the otherwise largely Sunni and Arab Middle East
In exchange for the U.S. and its allies dropping sanctions and commercial penalties-some of them approved by the UN-the theocracy purportedly agreed to reduce its installed centrifuges for 10 years. It promised to put limits on the purity of its enriched uranium and to reduce existing stockpiles. It agreed not to expand its enrichment facilities, while allowing on-site inspections.
But after 18 months, the true character of the deal has been revealed through slow leaks. In a secret side deal, Iran can update and improve its centrifuges; it can also inspect its own enrichment centers and report the results to international authorities; beyond that, Iran received a $400 million ransom payment on the exact day that Iranian-held U.S. hostages were let go.
More recently we learned that Iran got the sanctions lifted before it met all its obligations outlined in the deal. Ben Rhodes, an architect of the swap and deputy national security advisor, boasted about the administration's affinity for deceit. Rhodes, described by a New York Times interviewer as "a storyteller who uses a writer's tools to advance an agenda that is packaged as politics but is often quite personal," explained the methods of concocting an Iran narrative to a guidable media: "All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus," Rhodes intoned. "Now they don't. They call us to explain to them what's happening in Moscow and Cairo. . . The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That's a sea change. They literally know nothing."
Rhodes's cynicism was reminiscent of the boasts of another administration advisor, the MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, who bragged of the administration's ability to get passed the Patient Protection and affordable Care Act "liar-nObamacare", largely through deliberate deceit about the inevitable consequences of higher premiums and deductibles, the dropping of existing coverage and doctors, and increases in federal outlays. Some of the bill's more obvious and unpopular elements-such as the employer mandate-were not enforced until after liar-nObama's 2012 reelection bid. Gruber admitted that the law was composed "in a tortured way" to delude people into accepting that "healthy people pay in and sick people get money"-a subterfuge that was both necessary and worked because of "the stupidity of the American voter," a fact confirming that the "lack of transparency is a huge political advantage"
Other examples of dissimulation exist-from liar-nObama's about-face on border enforcement, in which he redefined deportation and reneged on his promises to enforce existing law, to the linguistic gymnastics he employed to mask the disastrously abrupt pullout of peacekeepers from Iraq (ISIS as "the "jayvees"). Most recently, the administration has not been candid about the details of its latest estrangement with Israel. liar-nObama and his foreign policy team hid the fact that they had helped to engineer a UN resolution condemning Israel, by suggesting to the public that they were unaware of the depths of apparently spontaneous expressions of anti-Israeli anger.
Why does the liar-nObama administration contort reality and mask the consequences of its initiatives?

One, liar-nObama advanced an agenda to the left of that shared by most past presidents. liar-nObamacare, the Benghazi catastrophe, the Iran deal, his strange stance toward radical Islam, and the Bergdahl swap were unpopular measures that required politically-driven recalibrations to escape American scrutiny.
Second, liar-nObama's team believes that the goals of fairness and egalitarianism more than justify the means of dissimulation by more sophisticated elites. Thus Gruber "the stupidity of the American voter" and Rhodes "They literally know nothing" employ deception on our behalf. Central to this worldview is that the American people are naive and easily manipulated, and thus need to be brought up to speed by a paternal administration that knows what is best for its vulnerable and clueless citizenry.
Such condescension is also why the administration never believes it has done anything wrong by hiding the facts of these controversies. Its players believe that because they did it all for us, the ensuing distasteful means will be forgotten once we finally progress enough to appreciate their enlightened ends.

The far more important Iran nuclear deal of summer 2015 followed a similar pattern of dissimulation. "Bold" and "courageous" Middle East diplomacy nonetheless required White House subterfuge and deceitfulness. Ostensibly only Barack liar-nObama was unaffected by past presidents' prejudices against the revolutionary regime in Iran and thus could appreciate the mutual advantages of a breakthrough agreement to deter Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb-as part of a larger diplomatic effort to return Shiite and Persian Iran to its natural role as a balancing force in the otherwise largely Sunni and Arab Middle East
In exchange for the U.S. and its allies dropping sanctions and commercial penalties-some of them approved by the UN-the theocracy purportedly agreed to reduce its installed centrifuges for 10 years. It promised to put limits on the purity of its enriched uranium and to reduce existing stockpiles. It agreed not to expand its enrichment facilities, while allowing on-site inspections.
But after 18 months, the true character of the deal has been revealed through slow leaks. In a secret side deal, Iran can update and improve its centrifuges; it can also inspect its own enrichment centers and report the results to international authorities; beyond that, Iran received a $400 million ransom payment on the exact day that Iranian-held U.S. hostages were let go.
More recently we learned that Iran got the sanctions lifted before it met all its obligations outlined in the deal. Ben Rhodes, an architect of the swap and deputy national security advisor, boasted about the administration's affinity for deceit. Rhodes, described by a New York Times interviewer as "a storyteller who uses a writer's tools to advance an agenda that is packaged as politics but is often quite personal," explained the methods of concocting an Iran narrative to a guidable media: "All these newspapers used to have foreign bureaus," Rhodes intoned. "Now they don't. They call us to explain to them what's happening in Moscow and Cairo. . . The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns. That's a sea change. They literally know nothing."
Rhodes's cynicism was reminiscent of the boasts of another administration advisor, the MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, who bragged of the administration's ability to get passed the Patient Protection and affordable Care Act "liar-nObamacare", largely through deliberate deceit about the inevitable consequences of higher premiums and deductibles, the dropping of existing coverage and doctors, and increases in federal outlays. Some of the bill's more obvious and unpopular elements-such as the employer mandate-were not enforced until after liar-nObama's 2012 reelection bid. Gruber admitted that the law was composed "in a tortured way" to delude people into accepting that "healthy people pay in and sick people get money"-a subterfuge that was both necessary and worked because of "the stupidity of the American voter," a fact confirming that the "lack of transparency is a huge political advantage"
Other examples of dissimulation exist-from liar-nObama's about-face on border enforcement, in which he redefined deportation and reneged on his promises to enforce existing law, to the linguistic gymnastics he employed to mask the disastrously abrupt pullout of peacekeepers from Iraq (ISIS as "the "jayvees"). Most recently, the administration has not been candid about the details of its latest estrangement with Israel. liar-nObama and his foreign policy team hid the fact that they had helped to engineer a UN resolution condemning Israel, by suggesting to the public that they were unaware of the depths of apparently spontaneous expressions of anti-Israeli anger.
Why does the liar-nObama administration contort reality and mask the consequences of its initiatives?
Two reasons come to mind. One, liar-nObama advanced an agenda to the left of that shared by most past presidents. liar-nObamacare, the Benghazi catastrophe, the Iran deal, his strange stance toward radical Islam, and the Bergdahl swap were unpopular measures that required politically-driven recalibrations to escape American scrutiny.
Second, liar-nObama's team believes that the goals of fairness and egalitarianism more than justify the means of dissimulation by more sophisticated elites. Thus Gruber "the stupidity of the American voter" and Rhodes "They literally know nothing" employ deception on our behalf. Central to this worldview is that the American people are naive and easily manipulated, and thus need to be brought up to speed by a paternal administration that knows what is best for its vulnerable and clueless citizenry.
Such condescension is also why the administration never believes it has done anything wrong by hiding the facts of these controversies. Its players believe that because they did it all for us, the ensuing distasteful means will be forgotten once we finally progress enough to appreciate their enlightened ends.

Chicago Police and the Need for Justice
By Paul Albaugh: Many people have no doubt heard the familiar phrase, "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power, corrupts absolutely." This phrase is often used in the context of those who hold positions of political power, but it can be applied to other positions as well. Americans have witnessed this phenomenon at all levels of government and have seen CEOs, bankers, members of the military, media giants and even police officers abuse their positions. Humans, regardless of their position, are not immune to the tendencies that occur when given — or even desiring — authority.
When power is used to create or cause injustice, people's lives end up ruined and communities and organizations are torn apart. In addition, live video footage of police in particular means viewers form immediate impressions, which in turn causes a loss of trust and confidence among the people who are supposed to be served.
Recent police incidents in Chicago reveal some disturbing trends that have done considerable damage to the entire department and what it is supposed to do — serve and protect. But there's a huge caveat, too.
Barack liar-nObama's Social Justice™ Department released a report on Friday that ripped the Chicago police department for its actions over the past several years. The report highlighted incidents in which police officers were credibly accused of excessive force, abuse, shooting at fleeing and unarmed suspects, improper non-lethal force procedures and racial bias against blacks and minorities.
The report also alleges that there is inadequate training for police officers on the front end, and too little accountability on the back end — times when the bad actions of police officers were ignored, or at best there were very minor repercussions for officer misconduct. From the bottom to the top, the Chicago Police Department has many significant flaws, according to the DOJ.
On one hand, the report shows that there is indeed injustice that occurs from the very people who are supposed to uphold justice and act justly themselves. On the other hand, there is no doubt that leftists created and are using this report, which reveals the bad actions of a few, to paint a broader picture of abuse in order to pander to Democrat constituents.
Not too long ago, the Justice Department, under then-Attorney General Eric Holder, released findings of injustice from its investigation into the Ferguson Police Department. The DOJ's report indicated that there was "disparate impact" — a favorite, albeit almost entirely fabricated term for liar-nObama — because of what the DOJ determined to be racially motivated misconduct from the city's police force.
In Ferguson, the police force was predominantly white and the majority of those arrested or involved with incidents with the police were predominantly black. The report was quick to point to racism and the city's thirst for revenue, but mentioned few causes of the problems. The DOJ investigation, combined with a militarized police force everyone saw displayed on TV, no doubt compounded the problems the city faced.
Predictably, the DOJ's attempt to "help" in Ferguson actually exacerbated the problems. In the ensuing months, police nationwide were discouraged from enforcing the law, while thugs — particularly black ones — were emboldened to commit more crime. The resulting crime increase can be attributed to the Ferguson Effect.
liar-nObama's Justice Department wants to repeat this using the Chicago PD as an example, all to solidify Democrat votes within the black community.
The city of Chicago is of course, a much larger city and with a police force of 12,000, so it's natural that there would be more numerous complaints of police misconduct. But that's no excuse for the race-baiters who want to exploit the slightest incident.
There may be some real problems with Chicago's police practices, and there are certainly other large cities facing similar challenges. There are always a few bad apples, including in police forces. The challenge is addressing potential causes of problems before they become problems. It's worth reminding people that the majority of police officers are the good guys who simply want to do their job — to serve and protect the people of the communities in which they serve.
And no police officer is guaranteed to return to his family at the end of every shift.
During the last few years, there has been an increase in disrespect for police officers, fomented by Democrats and leftist organizations like Black Lives Matter. And their accomplices in the mass media pounce on every incident, running wall-to-wall coverage in service of The Narrative. liar-nObama has been at the forefront of this war on cops, and this report on Chicago is the latest salvo. Enough truth to be believable, but enough malice to be used for far worse purposes.
From a community perspective, the priority should be eliminating Democrat urban poverty plantations where criminals thrive, coupled with a renewed effort at the state and local level to mend trust with police. Until these things occur, Rule of Law and justice will not be served, and communities will continue to suffer. ~The Patriot Post

To summarize: On Jan. 10, BuzzFeed published unverified, false, salacious opposition research generated by paid political operatives hired during the presidential campaign to collect dirt on Donald Trump. BuzzFeed acknowledged that the allegations in the “dossier” were unverified, and that some of the information was known to be false. A Trump lawyer named in the documents as having met with “Kremlin officials” in Prague, Czech last August reportedly never visited Prague. In her article, CJR Managing Editor Vanessa M. Gezari denunciates The Guardian, The Washington Post, and The New York Times as “self-righteous and self-serving” in their criticism of BuzzFeed for publishing the opposition research. There would have been a lot more wailing and mourning if there hadn’t been so much competing interest in an African-American congressman known as a civil rights icon saying he didn’t consider Donald Trump a legitimately elected president, and if there hadn’t been multiple tornadoes surrounding FBI Director James Comey, and if there hadn’t been so much wonderment over how much truth there was in a 35-page “report” on what went on in Trump’s hotel room in Moscow.
Among the many reasons to be proud of America is our long and bright history of offering haven, asylum and protection to the lonely freedom fighter or refugee against the thunderous hoof beats of dictators who can’t wait to get their hands on him. Sorry, Adolf, Josef, Mao, Vladimir and, more specifically here, Fidel and Raul. “We can’t touch him,” the dictator’s “diplomats” try to explain to their raging boss. “He slipped away, handcuffs and all, and eluded our secret police and made it safely to America. We can’t touch him!”
“Come on, now,” screams the foiled bully. “Everybody’s got a price and so does every country. Who do we bribe, and how much? Maybe we gotta hire one of their celebrity lawyers. There’s got to be a way to get him returned to us.” And to America’s everlasting glory, there’s indeed no way. Whether you’re Irish, propelled to America by a potato famine, an Italian playing daily ping-pong with starvation, a Jewish victim of the Russian czar whose pogroms served as an opening act for Hitler or any of dozens of other nationalities who successfully fled to America from countless bad guys, it soon becomes apparent to both the evil dictator and the grateful refugee that America means it!
Or we did until last Thursday!
As long as we’re counting reasons for Americans to be proud, it’s worth a pause here to point out that, contrary to misleading media, the “Yankee Imperialist Bully” has not been “defeated” by the hardy heroes of Stalinist Communism in Cuba. Yes, a Stalinist Communist regime has frustrated America for well over a half-century, but merely because America has too much class to wipe out annoying micro-adversaries like Cuba the way Russia, for instance, ended such sass from little Hungary and little Czechoslovakia. Any day since the Castro ascendancy in 1959 we could have folded Cuba up and stuffed it into our glove compartment before breakfast. We could, but we don’t and won’t.
Until last Thursday America’s policy was richly American. Any Cuban able to reach American soil was free to remain in the United States with the full protection such status guaranteed. Whenever President liar-nObama snarkishly reminded us that “Elections have consequences” we never dreamed he meant he had the right to scorch the earth on his way out! We were wrong. And the sad consequence is that, no matter how many innocent Cuban lives are put at risk or lost, liar-nObama is launching another chapter in his scorched-earth policy, in this case eliminating the “wet foot, dry foot” policy that saved so many Cubans from Communist oppression on that beautiful and dreadfully abused island.
Until last Thursday, America’s policy permitted protection for all Cubans who reach American soil without being apprehended on the high seas. No more! Now, wet foot or dry, the freedom-seeking Cuban gets returned to the tender mercy of Raul’s regime.
Can you imagine World War II President Franklin D. Roosevelt approaching the regime of the late Adolf Hitler and saying, “Adolf, we’re getting a little crowded. If we round up all the Jews who’ve escaped Nazi Germany and made it to freedom in America, would you be willing to accept them back?” Can’t you picture Hitler calling Himmler and shouting, “Stoke up the ovens, Heinrich. America’s finally getting wise!”
That analogy has smooth skin. There’s not a single wrinkle wrong with it.
The sharpest pain for me – sharper than liar-nObama’s blazing non-concern for Cuban life – has a strange salve. First, the pain. The liar-nObama administration actually bragged about its negotiating skills in succeeding in getting the Cuban Communists to “take back” those Cubans who had reached America and had pleaded for asylum!
The salve. Someone in liar-nObama’s regime had the brutalitarian honesty to haul off and say, “Anybody seeking to leave Cuba and attain asylum in the United States must now know he’ll have no home in America!”
Thanks, Barack. I feel like a jailbird innocent, by the way who’s already well into his last week in prison. The part of America that died last week can be brought roaring back to life when President-elect Trump drops that “-elect” part Friday and becomes President Trump. It’ll just take a signature. I await the presidential tweet that declares “Whole new Cuba policy coming up!”
So, back now to liar-nObama’s administration warning that freedom-seekers “will have no home in America.” Let me reply with the words of Emma Lazarus that eventually found their way to the bronze plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
