This is how I read that:  The left got 239 seats (70%) vs the right at 99 seats (29%).  

Is that our future as well?  Well, imo, we're already there. The GOP has been to the far left of their constituents since 2011.

In the year 376 AD, an enormous mass of men, women and children appeared on the Danube frontier of the Roman Empire. They were refugee Goths who sought asylum, pressed by the advancing hordes of Attila. In the following months, those refugees discovered that the Roman Empire was not Paradise, that the governors were weak and corrupt, that there was not wealth and food for all, and that injustice and greed were fattening upon them. And so, two years after crossing the Danube, these same Goths killed Roman Emperor Valens and destroyed his army at the battle of Adrianople. And ninety-eight years later, their grandchildren dethroned Romulus Augustulus, the last Roman Emperor, and liquidated what remained of the Roman Empire.

What the West faces has all happened before. But the thing is, we have forgotten it; irresponsible governments have erased the resources that would allow us to understand. Since the dawn of History, some peoples have invaded others due to hunger, to ambition, or because the pressure of still others who were invading them or mistreating them; and all, until recently, defended and stood against invaders in turn: knifing them, taking their women and enslaving their children. Thus, those peoples survived until History finished them, and opened the way for other empires, that once again, suffered the same fate when their day was over. A problem confronts what we call Europe, or the West (the empire heir to a complex civilization, that has its roots in the Bible and the Talmud, with some relation to the Koran; the empire that flourished in the medieval Church and the Renaissance, that establishes the rights and freedoms of man during the Age of Reason and the French Revolution). The West is all that - Homer, Dante, Cervantes, Shakespeare, Newton, Voltaire - and the problem it faces is that it has reached the end of its timeline and is being liquidated through overthrow. It is incapable of sustaining its existence. It is incapable of defending itself. It only has money. And money only buys some time, nothing more.

We pay for our sins. The disappearance of the communist régimes and the war that an imbecile American president unleashed upon the Middle East - to install a western-style democracy in places where the words Islam and Rais (religion mixed with tribal leaderships) make it difficult for democracy set the pot to boil. The centurions who guarded our borders fell: barbarians themselves, as at the end of all empires. All those centurions were sons of bitches, but they were our sons of bitches. Without them now, our borders are overwhelmed with waves of desperate people, the vanguard of the modern barbarians -in the historic sense of the word - who ride in after them. This places us in a situation which is new to us, but as old as the world. A situation which is inevitably historic, for we find ourselves in the position of empires incapable of controlling waves of migration, peaceful at first but later aggressive: Empires, civilizations, worlds that were conquered because of their weakness, or else transformed and then died out. And the few centurions left today along the banks of the Rhine or the Danube are under the death sentence. They are sentenced due to our selfishness, our do-good hypocrisy, our ignorance of history, our cowardly incompetence. Sooner or later, again by the operation of a simple natural law, those last centurions will end by going over to the side of the barbarians for their elementary survival.

It's about time we understand once and for all: these battles and this war are not going to be won. It cannot be done anymore. Our own social, religious and political dynamic will not allow it. And those who are pushing the Goths forward know it. The men who stopped invaders on the battlefields, slaughtering whole populations, cannot do that any longer. Our civilization, fortunately, will not tolerate such atrocities. The bad news is that we have over-reacted on the side of tolerance. European society today demands that its armies shall be "NGOs", not military forces. All vigorous action - and only vigor is effective in certain dynamics of History - is avoided at its root, and not even Hitler would find a West so resolute in confronting him by warfare, as it was in 1939. All action against those who are pushing the Goths is criticized by pacifist forces who oppose such action with as much legitimate ideology as their lack of historic realism. Demagoguery takes the place of reality and its consequences. A significant detail: naval surveillance operations in the Mediterranean sea are not carried out to stop immigration, but rather to help the immigrants arrive safely on European shores. It is all one enormous and inevitable contradiction.

Today's European citizen is a better person than he was centuries ago, and will not tolerate a certain class of injustices and cruelties. The historic resource of cutting throats is therefore happily discarded. There can be no massacre of Goths: bad news for the empire. All this takes us to the heart of the question: Europe - or whatever we wish to call this warm realm of rights and freedoms, of economic and social welfare -is broken inside and threatened from outside. It neither knows how to, nor can, nor wants to and perhaps should not even try to defend itself. We are living in the absurd paradox of feeling sorry for the barbarians, even cheering them on, and at the same time pretending that our comfortable way of life will go on intact.

But things are not that simple. The Goths will go on arriving in waves, flooding borders, roads, and cities. They are within their rights, and they have just what Europe does not have: youth, vigor, resolve, and hunger. They are forcing us to the heart of the matter: the installation of the Goths, when they become too many, within the empire. The conflicts derived from their presence. The rights they acquire or should acquire, and which it is just and logical that they should enjoy. But neither in the Roman Empire nor in today's Europe was there or is there abundance for all - neither of work, nor of food, nor of hospitals, nor of comfortable spaces. And besides, even for good consciences, it is not the same to feel compassion for a refugee at the border, or for a mother with her son crossing a barb-wire fence or drowning in the sea, than to see them installed in a hut next to one's home, or garden, or golf course, and being outlaws, if they must, to survive in a society where fairy godmothers have broken wands; where not all of us, and every day less of us can obtain what we should like to have. And of course, there are those areas, those cities which are turning into barrels of gunpowder on a slow fuse. From time to time, they will explode, for this too is historically inevitable.

All the more so in a Europe where intellectual élites are disappearing, snuffed out by mediocrity, and where politicians who can't read and populists of all stripes take over power according to how the wind blows. The final measure will be a harder and more repressive policy, supported by those who have things to lose. That will give rise to new conflicts: the have-nots demanding what they want, furious citizens, reprisals and settling of grievances. We shall not wait too long now, and violent xenophobic groups will have multiplied all over Europe. And other groups of desperate people who choose violence to emerge from hunger, oppression and injustice. It was also a part of the Roman population - not only the barbarians - who helped the Goths sack the Empire, either to ingratiate themselves with the barbarians or of their own accord. No pax romana (Roman peace) benefits all equally. The problem is that there is no way to halt History. "There must be a solution", say those who write editorials, the denizens of cafés and citizens incapable of understanding, because no one explains in the schools, that History is not "solved", but lived; and because for the most part, one reads and studies to foresee events that are never new; for often, in the history of Mankind, what is new is what has been forgotten. And what we forget is that there is not always a solution; sometimes things happen necessarily, obeying a simple natural law: new times, new barbarians. Much will remain of what is old, mixed in with the new; but the Europe that shed light upon the world is sentenced to death.

Perhaps in the course of time and with the mixture of races other empires may be better than this one, but neither you nor I will be here to find out. We are getting off at the next stop. On this journey, there are only two reasonable attitudes. One is the analgesic consolation of looking for an explanation in science and culture, so that if we cannot prevent it, which is impossible, we can at least understand why everything went to Hell. I like to imagine a Roman gentleman at the window of his library, quietly observing the sack of Rome; for to understand always helps one to endure pain.

The other reasonable attitude is, I think, to prepare young people, with their children and grandchildren in mind. So that they may face clearly, bravely, humanely and with common sense, the world that is coming. So that they may adapt to the inevitable, keeping what they may be able to keep what good things this dying world may leave behind. To give them tools to live in a territory that for a certain period will be chaotic, violent and dangerous. So that they may fight for something in which they believe, or that they may resign themselves to the inevitable; but not through stupidity or passivity, but rather through lucidity, through intellectual peace of mind. Let them be what they may wish to be or may achieve: let us make them Greeks who think, Trojans who fight, or if the case should be such - Romans conscious of the proud dignity of suicide. Let us make them mixed-race survivors, willing to face a new world and to better it; but let us not confuse our children with cheap demagoguery and Walt Disney stories. It's time that we speak to our sons in the schools, in the home, and in life, looking them straight in the eye.

The Biden speech reminded me of Justice John Roberts opinion on Obamacare back in 2012 - where it was intended and drafted to mean one thing only to be editted at the last moment to portray a totally different conclusion.   

Biden's could have announced that he wasn't going to run on a Tweet. Which could've been followed up at the news networks.  

His speech read like an acceptance speech where the "I will be running" was scratched over and replaced with "I will not be running".  The question is "Why"?  Is Hillary really doing as well as the (liberal) media has been hyping up since that first CNN socialist Debate?  If we compare her book signings / sales to Dr Ben Carson's book signings w/ his new release there are MAJOR differences there alone.  Hillary's book flopped.  Where Carson meets w thousands who want their copies signed.

So what that Hillary raises more campaign funds.  Nothing new there. Quite the contrary.  We've seen from The Clinton Global Initiative that it's all about BIG corporations and key nations around the world, friend and BIG-foes alike, are paying for favors and, judging by the emails that are dripping through, the BIG-donors expect access (to classfied documents?) as well.

What I found so clever about Biden haying said that the repubs are not an "enemy", but merely an opponent, was, imo, a hit on Hillary - as she did call the repubs her enemy. And she is proud of it.  No, he didn't endorse her. But he also didn't take comrad Bernie Sanders position where Sanders feigned outrage over the whole Hillary email protocol breach either.  

But, the redistribution / fair share / poor vs wealthy message is very much the democrats platform - as it's been since 2008.  Only stronger.

Where the GOPers continue drinking the 80s "New Coke" w/ theor "We do too!" platform, the left entrench themselves ever deeper w/ their agenda.

And good ole Paul Ryan wants everyone in the House to love him; and change standards set forth by Thomas Jefferson himself.  I've been saying that 2016 is for the GOP to LOSE.  They are DEFINITELY going in that direction.  Don'tcha think?

The American people accept the persecution of truth-tellers, because they have been brainwashed into believing that patriotism means defense of the government no matter what. It would seem that the wolf is shedding its sheepish skin as Ryan puts forth conditions (ultimatums?) if he's going to accept the Speakership.  But these conditions that changes House standards seem to be aimed exclusively at the House Freedom Caucus, the conservative group in the HoR that have been creditted (or blaimed) for John Boehner's early retirement from Congress altogether.  Imo, his retirement didn't come early enough.

 
So, Rep. Paul Ryan said that he'd run for the Speakership - IF the entire GOP conference unites behind him.  He wants the "entire" conference to blindly follow his lead - w/ out challenge?  It sounds just like the way Barack Obama has been running things for the past six-plus years so far.  Is Ryan demanding OBEDIENCE from the GOP?  Isn't that exactly what the GOP members,.including those in the Senate, mind you... have given Obama, Pelosi and Reid since 2011?

The reason, and the very intentions behind the Framers having established three co-equal Branches of the federal government was so that no one person, or entity, would have full control; or autonomy.  And safeguards were/are included w/ the inclusion of Article V of the US Constitution, and the ratification of the 1st, 2nd, and 10th Amendments - which were added so that the sovereign States, and their residents, had the LEGAL tools to protect and defend themselves from any enemies, or adversaries, of the Constitution - foreign or even domestic.  And, the way I see it, our domestic adversaries have given uncontested and unconditional entry to illegal aliens coming from nations and/or regions that have shown to be hostile to America to say  the least.  

Have we not surrendered enough already?  Is not dissension a form of expression and protest - which is very much protected by the Constitution?  I am weary of those that say we must walk in lockstep w/ each other - regardless of party affiliation. Imo, Ryan is demanding utopian House.  He seems to want things to be easy to do.  If it's too hard for him to handle, then he should stay out. If Rep. Paul Ryan actually believes that by getting the entire House behind him will appease the American people, and make them obediently silent when the House continues to cave in to the democrats' every demand (and they will), then Ryan is as delusional as the rest of his squishy/moderate GOP colleagues.  And that would make him no different than Boehner or McConnell. Big surprise.

Reuters has reported that a watchdog group… the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)…will be in Iraq next week to look into what they indicate is the probable use of mustard gas by ISIS against the Kurds.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is lying again – being liberal that really is not a problem. Liberalism/progressivism, based on moral relativity, requires a certain amount of lying. Whether it is identity politics, gender politics, or even values politics, all is relative to how the individual feels that it applies to him and not the community.

Progressives have always been of the mind that the end justifies the means, and they excuse over the top radicalism and lying as necessary to move the agenda forward. It is all done in the hopes of producing a narrative that can be believed by the rank-and-file of their followers – the low information citizen.

In October, the SPLC placed Dr. Ben Carson on its “Extremist Watch List”. Now being a Black Conservative, according to the standards that the SPLC has already shown may have been reason enough, but ultimately it was because Dr. Carson had the audacity to be for traditional marriage as is most of the world.

A week later after intense criticism, Dr. Carson was taken off the list. The Marxist-Socialist agenda of the SPLC had embarrassed itself and targeted a man who is a Christian. Not that the SPLC hasn’t targeted Christians before and continues to do so, but Dr. Carson is running for President and is well thought of by the vast majority of people. Remember, this is the same group that declared the Family Research Institute a hate group, and placed them in brochures right nest to the KKK and neo-Nazi organizations. That led to an almost catastrophic confrontation and only lately has the SPLC said they may have made a mistake.

Christians are in the sights of the SPLC and long diatribes have been written how bigoted, homophobic and downright stupid Christians are for believing in what they do. At the “Values Voter Summit” many conservatives discuss the issues facing American today.

But the SPLC, lately linked to a domestic terrorism case in federal court, has done its best to try and slander those in attendance, labeling those conservatives anti-LBGT and anti-Muslim. The SPLC took it upon themselves to write to each speaker at the event and “encourage” them not to go. Even though millions of the everyday citizens agree with the summit and not with the progressive/socialist policies of the SPLC.

The SPLC has maintained that if you object to LBGT issues you are demonizing those of that community. It declares that those who hold to biblical standards of marriage have an extensive record of demonizing, vilifying gays, and spreading falsehoods. This the same group that was the inspiration of

Floyd Lee Corkins II entering the offices of the Family Research Council with the intention of in his own words “kill as many people as I could”.

So what has the SPLC learned? Apparently nothing, A group of socialist/progressives including GLAAD, Faithful America, People for the American Way . in conjunction with the SPLC have now targeted individuals that attended the “Values Voter Summit”. It has targeted such people as the American Family President Tim Wildmon, Liberty Counsel Mathew Staver and of course, once again Tony Perkins of the Family research Council.

But the targeting does not end there. The SPLC has expanded its agenda to include other areas of “hate”. Included in this has been the declaration that the entire South and anything Confederate is now hate. All holidays, monuments, symbols, celebrations and schools named after any Confederate is now considered a hate crime by the SPLC, and must be eradicated from across the country.

Recently, the SPLC has branded three women as anti-Muslim for discussing the threats of Islamic immigration into the United States. Also discussed was the Muslim Botherhood infiltration of this administration and this country. In the magazine Rose-el-Youseff six People in this adminstraton were named as operatives for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Americans have not had the opportunity to discover thee truths about Islam and the SPLC because of administration coercion and the media. It is the SPLC who has directly targeted these women in a pamphlet called “Women Against Islam”.

The SPLC has become nothing more than a money making entity that will fudge numbers and always look for new dragons to slay whether they need slaying or not. First it was the KKK, now it everyone from Christians, to gun enthusiasts, to anything that the leftist partisan hacks of the SPLC can use to raise money. It has traded the activism of a good and noble nature that it used to identify with for a usefulness of activist leftism that fills it coffers. No more an admirable organization that would ferret out real hate, it has now become a bully against those it knows has neither the money or connections to fight back.

Like that slimy mold and mildew that shows up uninvited on bathroom tile, such is the political chameloen, Charlie Crist.

Once again, the former Florida governor is at it again. In 2010, Crist e ran what supposed to have been an encoronation-election, for the US Senate seat. Despite the full weight of Florida's RNC supporting him, Crist lost miserably against Marco Rubio.

It was then that the former Schwarzenegger-style republican began his political metamorphosis. Seeing how the TEA party had defied the RNC, by putting Rubio in the lead, Crist then decided to run as an Independent. As you all know, he still lost by a lot.

After that, in 2012, with backing from the far left Orlando based law firm, Morgan & Morgan, Charlie Crist started yet another run for governor. But this tine as a democrat. And the law firm came up with a strategy to guaranree a win for a change. Morgan & Morgan lobbied to get pot legalization on the 2012 ballot. Obviously, at least imo, in the hopes of drawing the youth vote to take the election, But, yet again, Crist still lost. "Sorry, Charlie!".

Well, here we go again! The "chameleon" is back. And the political seat-du-jour is now opening in the House. The seat is being vacated by U.S Rep. David Jolly (R) who had announced that he'd give up his 13th Congressional District chair to run for Marco Rubio's senate seat. And, yes, Charlie Crist is running as a democrat. What a "surprise", huh. I was kinda hoping that he'd take a shot at running as a Socialist this time around. You know, like Bernie Sanders is; and quite successfully, I might add.

The question is can he win this time around? Lets hope that his track record remains consistent, shall we.

After lobbying for ObamaCare, some members of Congress still are trying to do favors for Big Phrma.  An article entitled The Inter Partes Review Process is Working, Even For Pharmaceuticals made the point that when Congress does favors for the drug industry the taxpayers get stuck with the tab.

Health care is increasingly expensive, thanks in part to government's continued and expanding intervention.

Look back at the Medicare Part D fight that established a program that pushed a massive new entitlement onto the American people as a great example of Republicans pushing for the Big Pharma agenda.

During the Obama years, we have ObamaCare as an example of Democrats doing the bidding of the drug industry.

Now lobbyists for the drug companies are back asking for a special carveout on something called the Inter Partes Review Process.  This is a process that stops big companies from gaming the patent system to keep a patent for longer than allowed under current law or to try to file a bogus new patent on an old drug to continue to overcharge for the drug.  Now that most of health care costs are taken on by the government (i.e. the taxpayer), any increase in the price of drugs will hit the consumers hard.

Big Pharma has invested at least $3 billion on lobbying and they want to take away the one tool that can empower taxpayers to challenge government-granted monopolies. 

Thankfully, Congressman Bob Goodlatte and Senator Chuck Grassley, the House and Senate Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, get it.  They have stood up against special interests in the past and should do it again.  Big Phrma should stand on it's own two feet.  The taxpayers shouldn't be forced to prop them up.

On Thursday of this week, October 22, 2015…Hillary Clinton will be between a rock and a hard spot. The Hard spot will of the truth while the rock will be Trey Gowdy.

While many are somewhat baffled by the seeming lack of progress of Gowdy’s House Select Committee on Benghazi, nothing could be further from the truth as, in fact, great progress has been made what’s lacking in it are the headlines but that is by design.

Trey Gowdy, at this point, doesn’t give a happy damn about the headlines because headlines are not what he’s after in all of this…the truth is his mission and in that pursuit, Trey Gowdy is like a hungry dog tracking down a pork chop.

Over the past several months, Gowdy and his committee have interviewed some 41 witnesses…that would be 41 witnesses no other investigative committee related to Benghazi has so much as said good morning to and of those 41 untouched by any investigation witnesses…7 of them were eye-witnesses to the attack in Benghazi on September 11th, 2012. They were there. They saw it happen, They survived it and they know exactly what transpired…not only that fateful night but in the days, weeks and months leading up to that fateful night.

Trey Gowdy and his committee have also looked at some 50,000 emails and documents no other investigative committee, related to Benghazi, has seen and those emails and documents, until Gowdy got his committee’s hands on them, had ever been provided to congress.

10 Symptoms of a Sociopath

Ever met a charming person with a golden tongue and visions of grandeur? Or with captivating stories and an easy charisma? Than you ask them a question and unwittingly set off a near violent cascade of drama and lies? Do you know someone who lies and deceives by nature, manipulates and conspires with passion, and never apologizes or is responsible for any their actions?  These symptoms of a sociopath will allow all to identify and avoid this dangerous personality that strives to control and enslave.

1) Sociopaths can charm the skin off a snake: Sociopaths are typically very charming, able to put others at ease with engaging charisma and an easy grin. Under the surface is a domineering and controlling nature, a parasitical agenda, one that views people as instruments and tools to be utilized and exploited. They may be covertly hostile, passive aggressive and domineering, the charm simply superficial.

2) Pathological liars: A sociopath can look you in the eye and lie without a seconds hesitation. They’re compulsive and pathological liars to the core. They will fabricate the most outrageous stories, yet make them sound believable. Their talent for lying so convincingly allows them to impress and influence unsuspecting victims. They even believe in their lies themselves which makes it much harder to identify. Sociopaths may recount lies word for word again and again to various victims.

3) Incapable of feeling Guilt, Remorse or Shame: Such emotions as these are far above a sociopath. They feel nothing but will use such emotions to manipulate, influence and dominate others when it suits their purposes. The end always justifies the means and guilt, shame or remorse are tools to be used to dominate others. A sociopath will almost never apologize unless it suits their agenda.

4) Sociopaths must ‘win’ at all costs: All knowing, never to be bested and never wrong are just some symptoms for their need to win. If you got 98% on a test, a sociopath will say they got 99%. If you visited 10 countries a sociopath has been to 15. Their inclination to be at the top, no matter what, is a sure symptom of a sociopath.

5) Irritability and Hostility when questioned: Ask the wrong question, insinuate their lack of credibility or confront a sociopath about one of their lies and you’re sure to witness an epic scene. They think nothing of lashing out with aggressive, hostile and irritable behavior if questioned. They will turn the attack onto the questioner, and unleash a temper tantrum that is sure to shock and awe any unwitting victim of their lies.

6) Callousness and a lack of Empathy: They care nothing for their victims well being or emotional state, they are incapable of empathizing with anyone and will callously use any expression or grievance of their victim to further dominate and control the person.

7) Shallow or none existent Emotions: Sociopaths do not feel emotion like you or me. They may present or feign emotions to an audience, yet typically they are very shallow and callous, unconcerned and use emotion to further their influence on others.

8) Incapacity to Maintain Enduring Relationships: Sociopaths have no problem meeting new people, yet keeping them as friends and partners over long periods doesn’t happen often. They may have a cult following by a few victims however most relationships will crumble due to their deceitful personality, lies and impulsive behavior.

9) Blame others, Never themselves: You will never hear a sociopath take responsibility for their actions or lack of them. The blame is batted around and thrown onto others, rationalizations and absurd excuses typically follow. If blamed or discredited they will become hostile and possibly violent.

10) Consistent Irresponsibility: When they say they will do something, they likely won’t, unless it suits their purposes of course. Sociopaths have poor work behavior and may never honour financial obligations, verbal contracts or laws.

Sociopaths seek to control. They strive for the willing enslavement of their victims, for greater social and emotional influence and the domination of normal, empathic people.It is estimated approximately 4% or 1 in 25 of the global population are sociopaths without empathy or a conscious. They are typically of an above average intelligence and have suitable traits to allow them to prosper in Business and politics. Perhaps, sociopathic traits are behind global events and could even be the reason rationality in politics, compassion in policy and decency in business and ethics are none existent

Greta van Susteren Comes out for Bullet Control

It is not a novel idea -- the notion that the route to gun control is not by attacking the right to bear arms which the U.S. Supreme Court has declared to be both an individual and a national right, but to use that old standby, regulation, to dry up the supply of bullets. It was that idea that was endorsed by Fox News host Greta Van Susteren when she appeared on ABC’s “This Week”:

Former Senator Jim Webb was something of a wallflower during last week’s Democratic debate, though not because he didn’t want to get out on the floor and dance. He said afterward that he believes the debate was rigged to favor Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, leaving the lesser known candidates—himself, Martin O’Malley, and Lincoln Chafee—confined to the sidelines. When the floor was his he seemed perturbed and complained that he wasn’t getting as much time as the leading candidates. “In that kind of environment, it was either going to be Mr. Angry or a potted plant,” said Webb after the debate.

Some might argue that Webb didn’t get as much time as Clinton and Sanders because they’re top tier and he’s not. Certainly that’s true though it begs another question—why isn’t Webb top tier? He is, after all, a one-term senator, former Harvard fellow, author, journalist, and former Secretary of the Navy. The answer, I believe, is because the party has moved so far to the left. Try as he might to fit into the new Democratic Party, he's still something of a puzzle piece borrowed from another puzzle.

Jim Webb seemed more than a little incongruous standing on the stage next to the top contenders. The frontunner is Hillary Clinton, a former friend and acolyte of the Machiavellian political theorist Saul Alinsky. Raised in Chicago, she studied at Wellesley and Yale during the turbulent sixties and seventies. She defended the Black Panthers when they murdered one of their own on a suspicion that he was an FBI informer. After serving as first lady of the United States, she carpetbagged to New York to fill a vacating US Senate seat. Her most serious challenger is New York-born Bernie Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist and senator from Vermont, the most left-wing state in the Union. He’s actually tacking to the left of the Alinsky fangirl and it seems to be working.

Clearly this isn’t your father’s Democratic Party. In 2015, the leading Democratic candidates are left and far left. This is the party that booed the Boy Scouts at their 2000 convention and God Himself at their 2012 convention. It’s really that bad.

Is it any wonder then that Webb, a gun-owning Marine Corps veteran of Scots-Irish descent hailing from a southern state, doesn’t fit in? There’s something recognizably American about Webb, and that doesn’t sit well with the Democratic base. Many of their recent candidates have had a European air about them, and a few have seemed downright extraterrestrial.

Webb is no conservative, mind you, and I wouldn’t vote for him to walk my dog, but he was the most moderate candidate on the stage that night. When Clinton and Sanders were trying to one-up each other with who could articulate the most egregious offense against the second amendment, Webb actually defended Americans’ constitutional right to keep and bear arms. When asked if “all lives matter” or “black lives matter,” Webb dissented from the group and said that “Every life in this country matters.” Whoa! No wonder he’s going nowhere in the jackass party, spewing hate speech like that. When Webb was asked which of his enemies he’s most proud of, he recounted an incident in Vietnam in which he killed an enemy soldier who tossed a grenade at him. He was engaging in a little well-deserved bragging, of course, highlighting his war hero credentials to win a few votes, though I don’t think he’ll win many with today’s Democrats. Most of them perceive that kind of talk as mere machismo.

Part of Webb’s problem is that his party is obsessed with identity politics. When seeking the Democratic nomination it helps to belong to some kind of victim class—to be a woman, a minority, or to sleep with people of your own sex. Being white and male doesn’t get you any points. Working class roots counts for something, though less and less with each passing year.

If you don’t fall into one of the recognized victims categories, the only way to create buzz among Democrats is to veer way, way left. That’s basically the Bernie Sanders approach. Sanders even quit the party and became an independent because he found the Democrats to be too cozy with big business. Which they are, of course. Though he still caucuses with the Democrats and seeks the nomination of their party, his stand against the Democratic Party earned him a lot of respect among the moonbat community.

Jim Webb has no future in this party because the wing he represents—blue collar whites—is shriveled and dying. He’s made a point to stick up for that demographic group, arguing for example that affirmative action should consider economic circumstances rather than race. He contends that Democrats aren’t attuned to poor people’s problems when those poor people are white.

When running for Senate in 2006 Webb leveraged his support among Virginia’s substantial white working class to secure victory in a very close race. Webb is himself of Scots-Irish descent, though not from Appalachian Virginia. As the son of a career Air Force man, Webb grew up all over and thus can’t call anywhere home. He is nonetheless at ease speaking to southerners and the white working class, guys who drink macrobrewed beer in a can and guys who kill their dinner with a bow. He can walk into an American Legion and swap war stories with veterans at the bar. Joe Sixpack can relate to Jim Webb in a way that he cannot relate to a guy from Vermont who wants to take his legally purchased, fully licensed firearm.

But much like the late Rodney Dangerfield, Jim Webb “don’t get no respect!” in today’s Democratic Party. It’s almost as if their famed “big tent” is a sham, as if they apply “purity tests” to their candidates.

The problem with Jim Webb is that he’s outlived his usefulness and no one has the heart to break the bad news to him. The poor schlub made his entrance in 2006 when the Democrats desperately needed real life war heroes. They had had two bad election cycles in 2002 and 2004, due in part to the fact that fresh memories of 9/11 made many Americans unwilling to trust national security to the Democrats. Luckily for them the political winds were starting to shift as Americans’ patience wore thin with the sputtering Iraq War. The Democrats knew that if they were ever to turn an unpopular war to their advantage they would have to field candidates who could never be accused of being wimps and whose admiration for the military was beyond reproach. They needed square-jawed, red-blooded American men with honorable military service and the medals to prove it. In short, they needed Jim Webb.

But that was nearly ten years ago. With the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan both kinda-sorta over, the Democrats are free to be themselves again—angry women, effete men, elitist northeasterners, and gun grabbers.

Sorry Jim Webb, but there’s no room in this party for your kind. There used to be, in an age long since passed, but not anymore. Welcome to the Democratic (Socialist) Party. Like a container of spoiled sour cream that’s been hiding in the back of the fridge since who-knows-when, you’re past your expiration date. Prepare to be discarded.

I was pondering over a question concerning this upcoming presidential election. For those who have children or young relatives, would you leave them in the care and control of just anybody? Would you place their care in the hands of someone who wouldn’t pay attention, be responsible and protect them? NO, of course you wouldn’t.

Well here we are prognosticating the future and what it will be like, some thinking along the lines of gender, some skin color, as though either of those are qualifiers. Some thinking along the lines of socialism, they want to flush what has provided them with their daily bread and that includes God. Some have blinders on and refuse to see the bloodthirsty enemy waiting for the right moment to pounce. Then there are others who are profoundly concerned about the welfare of this country, our way of life, our rule of law, our Constitution and its Bill of Rights, our unique history, and they want it preserved. They want to achieve what President Reagan envisioned. They want this country to be all it can possibly be, they want the children to have a rich heritage, a legacy to build upon. They refuse to allow the take over as a police state.

So back to my first question, with our nightmarish and enlarging debt, the dogs barking at our door, the world wide threats that surround us, will you be willing to elect someone, simply because of race or gender, who’s responsibility it is to hold this country on a straight and steady course upwards, or someone with whom you can feel a sense of security, of determination, of the intestinal fortitude to say what he means and do as he says, looking the enemy, either domestic or otherwise, square in the eye? With whom will you entrust the future of this country and our children?
