Trump's Smartest Move

Depending on your perspective, the selection of Kellyanne Conway and Stephen Bannon to take over the leadership of a troubled Trump  campaign is either the smartest political move ever or merely rearranging the deck chaise on a campaign ship that’s been taking on water.

Conway is a seasoned political operative whose Reaganesque leanings are a clear attempt to reach out to a GOP political base Trump will need despite his protestations. And, as she noted in the Washington Post, one does not reach out with name-calling and ad hominem attacks....

Patricia Smith targets Hillary

Two speeches at the opening night of the GOP Convention stood in stark contrast in both their content and their treatment by the lamestream media. The chattering class on the left focused on Melania Trump’s alleged plagiarism of Michelle Obama’s speech in 2008. They have largely ignored Patricia Smith, mother of Benghazi casualty Sean Smith, and her documentation of Hillary’s lies to the parents of the Benghazi dead in front of their son’s caskets.

Melania may have paraphrased too close to the edge, but borrowing clichés about hard work and family does not plagiarism make and, even so, plagiarism is not perjury, as serial liar Hillary Clinton arguably committed in testimony under oath before Congress, Neither did she show Hillary’s callous disregard for the families of the Benghazi dead that Patricia Smith focused on in her riveting convention speech....

Baton Rouge Latest Battle in Obama's War on Cops

Before someone says President Obama did no such thing and that Baton Rouge, like Dallas, cannot be laid at his doorstep, let us consider his own statement that “words have consequences”. From Ferguson to Baltimore and beyond President Obama’s words have been the equivalent of yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre. He has encouraged a false narrative of racist cops and racist police departments whose officers are guilty until proven innocent, or buried, whichever comes first.

If there is a Pearl Harbor in this war on cops, it was Ferguson, Missouri, where President Obama’s Justice Department sent 40 FBI agents to prove Officer Darren Wilson was a racist murderer of an innocent black teen. He has made the race-baiting Al Sharpton, who helped create the myth of “hands up, don’t shoot”, a key adviser on race matters and Ferguson.....

Gingrich is right: Sharia is incompatible with US values

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a political bull often on the lookout for a politically correct china shop, has rattled the orthodoxy of political correctness once again, saying that those who follow Sharia law can’t also be loyal to the U.S., Constitution and the Western values it represents and either shouldn’t be allowed to enter the U.S. or should be deported from it. This didn’t sit well with President Barack Hussein Obama. As the Daily Caller reports:

On Friday, Barack Obama called Newt Gingrich’s plan to deport sharia-adhering Muslims in America “repugnant and an affront to everything that we stand for as Americans.”

In the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Nice, France, Gingrich said, “We should, frankly, test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported. Sharia is incompatible with Western civilization.”....

Why Ginsburg Fears Trump

If we needed another reminder of why it matters who is elected president and who gets to pick the replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia is important, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg reminds us. In statements to CNN and the New York Times, Ginsburg called presumptive GOP presidential nominee a “faker” and warned of the danger of a Trump administration to SCOTUS and the country. As ABC News reported:

"He is a faker," Ginsburg said of Trump on Monday on CNN. "He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego... How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that."....

Blame Black Lives Matter Movement for Dallas Carnage

Dallas police chief David Brown said all we need to know about the inspiration and motives of the thug who assassinated five Dallas cops. As NBC News reported:

Brown said the suspect, who he would not identify, told a hostage negotiator that he was upset about the Black Lives Matter movement and the recent police shootings of black men elsewhere in the U.S.

The Dallas shootings are the logical extension of the demonization of police officers by the racial grievance industry spearheaded by the Black Lives Matter movement, a demonization that began almost as soon as President Obama took office. ...

The AR15 is Not an Assault Weapon

When you consider the Oklahoma office worker whose head was hacked off with a knife, the New York cops attacked with an axe, and the Paris assault with a knife, it begins to dawn on one that assault is a behavior and not a weapon. Ever since Cain slew Able, it has been possible to kill people without using an AR15.

I once saw a movie depicting a time and place and place where only police and the military had guns. It was called Schindler’s List. Only the Nazis had guns. One wonders hoe history would have been different had Germany had a Second Amendment and every Stormtrooper knocking on the door at midnight had met a Jew with a gun. ....

Hillary could have saved Benghazi lives

Although Hillary Clinton would probably repeat her infamous comment during her Benghazi testimony, “At this point, what difference does it make?,” the truth always matters, and the truth is, as an Air Force source has just confirmed,  that there was in fact a Benghazi rescue mission literally ready to take off, and the Obama-Clinton administration said no.  As The Blaze reported on May 11, a new witness has come forward to expose that Benghazi lie:

A member of the U.S. Air Force, who was stationed in Italy during the 2012 Benghazi attacks, insisted Wednesday that the U.S. could have done more to help the four Americans who died that night.

The Art of the Con: the Trump U Fraud Case

As long as we are on the subject of “New York values”, let is consider the New York lawsuit against one Donald J. Trump and his “university” which alleges that Trump defrauded thousands of students who spent tens of thousands hoping they could benefit from his professed business acumen. The case has been woefully under-covered by a largely Trump-leaning media, but it could soon be as important to Trump as the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails and server could be to the former First Lady.

In a Fox News debate, Donald Trump attacked Sen. Ted Cruz’s critical reference to “New York values” with a passionate reference to the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. As Real Clear Politics reported his remarks:

I’ve had more calls on that statement that Ted made, that New York is a great place, it’s got great people, it’s got loving people, wonderful people. When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York.

Trump 'Concession' Suggests Narcissistic Personality Disorder

If you think President Richard Nixon was paranoid to the point of having an enemies list, consider the Donald J. Trump statement following his crushing defeat by Sen. Ted Cruz in the Wisconsin primary. Trump did not make the statement personally, lest he provide enough ad hominem sound bites to last a generation. Why Trump is Afraid of 'Crazy' Megyn Kelly

It would appear the Gov. Chris Christie was right the first time, before he joined Donald Trump’s posse, when he told Fox News host Greta van Susteren that the Donald’s temperament was unsuitable for a man who wanted to be our next President of the United States.

The latest example of that temperament was Trump’s call for a boycott of Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, whose first offense against the Trump ego was to question him vigorously on his attitude and remarks toward women in the first Fox News-hosted debate.

Trump and Code Pink: Perfect Together

Politics makes strange bedfellows, as the saying goes, but maybe it’s not so strange that the anti-war loony left group Code Pink praised Donald Trump’s embrace of their “Bush Lied, People Died” mantra in the South Carolina debate. Trump’s comments that President George W. Bush deliberately sent Americans to their deaths based on a lie and knew 9/11 was coming and did nothing fits Code Pink’s alternate universe. Cruz Right, Trump Wrong on Ethanol

It has been said that if we were getting so-called “alternative” energy from potatoes instead of corn, the first primary/caucus would be held in Idaho instead of Iowa. As it is, ethanol from corn in the first state where votes are actually cast in a presidential election has led to endless political pandering in support of a fuel that consumes more energy than it provides, is difficult to transport, reduces car mileage, can damage auto enegines, and damages the environment.

13 Hours and Counting to the end of Hillary's Candidacy
