“President Barack Obama is hoping his visit to Puerto Rico will shore up the Hispanic vote for Democrats, but more importantly for his 2012 re-election bid.

The media choir has been singing a similar tune, especially since the U.S. Census Bureau recently released a new report, “The Hispanic Population: 2010,” which documents the disproportionately large growth in the Hispanic population.

According to the 2010 Census, there were 308.7 million people residing in the U.S. on April 1, 2010, of which 50.5 million (16 percent) were of Hispanic or Latino origin.

In addition, the Bureau asserted, “More than half of the growth in the total population of the United States between 2000 and 2010 was due to the increase in the Hispanic population.”  Since Hispanics tend to vote Democratic—67 percent for Obama in 2008, according to a post-election poll cited in the New York Times—the Obama campaign thinks that growth could swing important states to the president.

That thinking is as wishful, and deluded, as the happy talk that surrounded the president’s economic policies and “shovel-ready” stimulus efforts that were going to get the country working again.  Here’s why.

People ≠ Voters — That New York Times story pointed out that only 10 million Latinos voted in the 2008 election, 9 percent of all voters, and that was a record high.  Why so low?  For one thing, the Hispanic population is younger than the general population: 27.4 years was the median age for Hispanics in 2009, vs. 36.8 years for the U.S.  Younger ages are less likely to vote, and a disproportionately large percentage of Hispanics aren’t even of voting age.

Another important point: No one knows how many of those 50 million Hispanics are citizens eligible to vote.  The Census counts people in the U.S., not citizens.  Someone from the Bureau told me that interviewers do not ask about citizenship nor do they record citizenship status.  There has been a groundswell of Hispanics entering the U.S. over the last decade, some legally but many not, which has led to a huge national debate over immigration.  How many of the 15.2 million more Hispanics (between 2000 and 2010) are eligible to vote?  We simply don’t know from Census surveys, but it’s reasonable to think that many, and perhaps most, can’t—at least not legally.

The Electoral College Decides — The Electoral College, not the popular vote, decides who will be president.  If none of those 50 million new Hispanics lived in California, President Obama would likely get all of the state’s 55 electoral votes; if all of them lived in California—and the largest number do—and they all vote for Obama he would still get … 55 electoral votes.

So the question for presidential election purposes is as much about where those votes are as how many there are.  The Census Bureau says 75 percent of the Hispanic population is located in eight states: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Arizona, New Jersey and Colorado.  Of those states, California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey will very likely remain blue in the next presidential election, while Texas and Arizona will almost certainly remain red.  Colorado, which has been trending blue, and Florida, which leans red but not by much, could be swayed.

Of the nine states where the Hispanic population more than doubled—Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and South Dakota—eight are in the south and all but one, Maryland, either lean or are strongly red.

The point is that a burgeoning Hispanic population may lead to a major shift in voting patterns at some point in the future, but not 2012.  That said, there are some important swing states—e.g., Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Colorado—that could be affected by Hispanic votes next year.

Hispanics Are Diverse — The Census Bureau struggles with identifying a “Hispanic” since it is not a race, but more a place of origin, such as Central or South America or countries located in the Caribbean.  Needless to say, there are lots of differences among these populations.  Puerto Ricans living on the mainland, for example, tend to vote Democratic; those of Cuban descent tend to vote Republican.  But the largest Puerto Rican population is in New York, which will vote for Obama anyway.  In swing-state Florida, however, Cubans outnumber Puerto Ricans by 400,000.

Hispanics Are More Affected by a Bad Economy — A lot has been made of the notion that the Hispanic population, many of whom are Catholic, tend to embrace conservative social values but liberal economic policies.  And those conservative social values give Republicans an opportunity to attract them to the GOP.

But the real opportunity for the GOP to get their presidential vote in 2012 comes from the devastating impact President Obama’s economic policies have had on lower-income families.  Texas, where I live, has the second largest Hispanic population; they come mostly from Mexico and Central America, according to the Census.  Most are hard workers who take service sector jobs in agriculture, construction, yard and landscape work, and restaurants.  When the economy goes south, they are some of the first and hardest hit.

Those who are citizens and can vote may decide that Obama has had his chance.  The recession officially ended in June of 2009, yet two years later the unemployment rate at 9.1 percent is still disastrously high—and much higher for Hispanics.  Even more troubling, the president seems befuddled about what to do next.

Of course, Obama may still get more Hispanic votes than his Republican challenger, but that doesn’t mean he wins; Sen. John Kerry won the Hispanic vote over President Bush in 2004 by 9 percentage points, and Bush still won.  But there is little reason to think, both for demographic reasons and the sour economy, that Hispanics will provide Obama with a victory in 2012.

However, the Census Bureau publication does point to a trend that neither party can ignore.  Hispanics are becoming a larger and more politically potent force in U.S. politics.  The party that moves to provide them with the greatest opportunities, not the most handouts, is the one that will capture their allegiance for the long term.

“Buenas Tardes” (good afternoon). Barack Obama greeted a crowd of Puerto Ricans in Spanish in San Juan on a presidential visit intended to shore up support of roughly 4.6 million Puerto Ricans who live on the mainland. The Puerto Ricans on the island can’t vote for president even though they’re U.S. citizens.

The Obama campaign machine is striving desperately to recapture the Hispanic vote. In 2008, Obama won 67 percent of the Hispanic voters nationally. The president’s failure to enact an immigration law and vigorously crack down on undocumented workers, however, has caused his glamour to tarnish a bit. A Wall Street Journal/NBC poll in late March found that his Latino support had slid to 60 percent.

As of July 2009, 48.4 million people of Hispanic origin lived in the U.S. Today, it’s 50.5 million, the country’s largest ethnic or race minority.

During his welcoming ceremony in San Juan, Obama tried to scrape together Hispanic favor by saying that he would support whatever decision the Island makes about statehood—a long standing dispute over statehood or independence.

The recession has hit Puerto Rico like a small hurricane. The jobless rate is 17 percent, compared to the latest unemployment figure for the U.S. of 9.1 percent. Referring to unemployment, Obama, in a lame statement, said, “These problems didn’t develop overnight here in Puerto Rico or anywhere else, but that means we’re not going to solve them overnight. But day by day, step by step, we will solve them.”

Obama flew to Puerto Rico from campaign stops in North Carolina and Florida to play up to more Latinos. North Carolina has about 380,000 Hispanics. In Florida there are about 840,000 Puerto Ricans.

While the Democrats have the Hispanic vote for 2012 in their headlights, some disconcerting facts that are not well known should dampen their enthusiasm. Despite the overly rapid growth of Latinos, many are far too young to vote. More than a third of Latinos (34.9 percent) are now below the voting age of 18, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

Hispanics comprise 22 percent of all U.S. children younger than 18. Some 43 percent of married couples who are Hispanic have children under age 18. Twenty percent of all elementary and high school students combined are Hispanic. They won’t be voting any time soon.

While 67 percent of eligible Hispanics voted for Obama in 2008, voter turnout of Latinos lags behind whites (48.6 percent), and 44 percent of eligible blacks. That compares to less than a third (31.2 percent ) of eligible Latino voters who said they voted. Only 42 percent of the Latino population — for one reason or another — is eligible to vote. Among Latinos who go to the polls, those age 18 to 28 had the lowest turnout—17.5 percent. Obama’s glory seems to be disappearing among youthful worshipers.

In 2010, the Hispanic electoral tidal wave dissipated. Latino voters, along with Asian voters, mainly avoided the 2010 election. A record 14.7 million Hispanic voters, in effect, sat on their hands for the 2010 race, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. The absence from the ballot boxes of so many Hispanic voters hurt many Democrats.

Fewer than 31 percent of eligible Hispanic and Asian voters went to the polls in the 2010 congressional elections, compared with 49 percent of eligible white voters and 44 percent of eligible black voters, the Pew report said.

The picture of minority voting comes in the wake of a poll showing the support for Obama among Latinos down by more than 25 percent from what it was at the start of his administration, should send shivers up Democratic spines—even of those who are spineless on many issues.

More signs that the Obama “spell” is fading: After winning 67% of the Latino vote in 2008, only 43 percent of Hispanics polled by Univision—the Spanish language TV network in the U.S.– at the end of last July said Obama has addressed their needs. Another 32 percent indicated they were uncertain, while 21 percent said they believe Obama has done a poor job.

A meeting of Republicans in South Florida aimed at extending the GOP’s outreach to Latino voters was co-chaired by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. The conference was organized by the new Hispanic Action Network. It is one of a number of Republican efforts to influence Latino voters before the 2012 election.

CNN reported in 2010 that 38 percent of Hispanic voters cast ballots for Republican candidates, compared to only 29 percent in 2008.

Significantly, Republican Susana Martinez was elected governor of New Mexico (46 percent Hispanic population), Brian Sandoval  became governor of Nevada (27 percent Hispanic population) and Marco Rubio won the U.S. Senate race in Florida (23 percent Hispanic).

Exit polls indicated that 38 percent of Latino voters voted for House Republican candidates in 2010. This “despite pre-election claims by advocates for illegal immigration that a pro-rule-of-law stand would alienate Hispanic voters,” wrote Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) June 2 in Politico. 

Five Hispanic Republicans were elected to the House.

“They focused on patriotism, rule of law, freedom, family, support for small business, jobs, and education,” Smith wrote.

Most of these are fundamental values from which President Obama has distanced himself.

I've learned to smile.  It is an acquired skill.  It is a gift.  Heavenly Father gave to me and I like to share, so you get some of it too.

I have spent a couple of days at the Right Online conference in beautiful downtown Minneapolis.  I have had a thoroughly happy time.  Why not?  I am an American.  I am still (mostly free).  I am surrounded by other Americans in a great American city.  I have a God who cares about me and my freedom.  I have 4 beautiful and amazing children in Colorado.  What's not to smile about.

Netroots, the liberal version of Right Online, a little older, more extreme Left than we are Right, cranky and negative, has been taking place across the street from our hotel.  Meetings in the streets, on elevators, in lobbies are inevitable between the "Nutroots" crowd and the "Vast Right Wing Conspirators."  I got on the elevator going down this morning and a very hip young lady got on at the same time.  She noticed my Right Online lanyard, I noticed her Netroots lanyard.  She was uncomfortable. I was exhilarated.  I had her trapped for 6 floors.  She began, "It looks like we're...opposites."  I was thoughtful, "Ummm," I said, "yeah, but we're both Americans.  That is the most important thing we share."  "And," she added, relaxing slightly, "we both use the internet!"  A pleasant conversation ensued.  She asked me what I blogged about and I told her my story.  When we got to the lobby I wished her a wonderful day.  She smiled a big smile my direction.  I walked up to the intersection and she promptly jay-walked across the street.

I have seen perhaps a hundred activists from Netroots on the streets around the convention centers here.  I smile and purposely make eye contact.  Some give me a glower, some an "hurrumph," and some, like the young lady in the elevator, have shared my smile.  I have 4 children who have passed through or are now residing in their young adulthood.  I have an instinctive love for young people.  And it occurred to me that I am not fighting against the individuals at Netroots, or on the Left.  I am fighting, as a Conservative, against bad ideas, bad policies, and bad institutions.  This is not a war of Americans against Americans.  It is a war of truth against lies, freedom against tyranny,  and civility against hatred.  I wielded the weapon of a smile, and I won a little piece of a young woman's heart.  And she won a little of mine.  This is where the most crucial battles will be fought.  It is more than a platitude to say "winning the hearts and minds of America."  It is a crucial strategy which should be the foundation of all rhetorical and political battles.

What better way to disarm the ideological foe, who is at their heart a friend waiting to  learn that they too love their liberty, than to give them a smile, a pleasant conversation, and a wish for a wonderful day.  We have nothing to fear in our own kindness.  And that young lady whom I met on the elevator will never honestly be able to say that all conservatives are crazy, or mean, or cranky, or old white men.

Questions about Obama’s citizenship status from before the election in 2008 have come full circle, you might say the most Holy Reverend Jeremiah Wright, was right, chickens do come home to roost. Obama is not a “Natural Born Citizen”, and his alliance by birth is to two countries. Obama’s release of his Long Form Birth Certificate April 27, 2011, is a prima facie admission that the two alleged disqualifiers for the Presidency, is now confirmed as fact.

NOTE: This call to action is not a question of Obama’s qualification (at this step), rather it is a question of Congresses Constitutional understanding of the requirements to run for the President of the United States of America, and their (Congressmen’s) oath to uphold that Constitution, as being questioned by their employer, We the People aka the HAMMER.

As Obama has now confirmed he was not qualified to run for president pursuant to The Constitution of the United States of America. All current members of Congress, Republicans, Democrats and other’s, aka NAIL(S) totaling 100 in the Senate and 435 in the House, have by their silence, confirmed they are either an ACCESSORY BEFORE and/or AFTER THE FACT.

Prior such violations of our Constitution if any, does not set precedence as one crime or intent (action taken or not) cannot be used to validate another like crime or intent.  The old adage applies: two wrongs don’t make a right. Better check Mitt Romney’s “Natural Born Citizen” status while we are at it.  

To determine who has and/or is continuing to PERVERT the Constitution, it is VERY IMPORTANT that we provide the 112^th Congress 1^st Session, the opportunity this coming July 2011 when they are back in Session, to consider the “ONE QUESTION” being asked by WE THE PEOPLE.

That “ONE QUESTION” being asked of EACH AND EVERY CONGRESSMAN, by EACH AND EVERY RESPECTIVE CONSTITUENT is: Congressman ....(name).... DEFINE by August 1, 2011 what “Natural Born Citizen” means in respect to one being qualified to seek and hold the office of the President of the United States of America according to our Constitution? Please give MY (our) “ONE QUESTION” the attention it deserves in the time frame requested. Sign your name and address.

You are asking THE question, only one question, stick to the question, no redirect and no deflection, tell them to just answer the damn question!

Start asking your representative when you read this, FAX, EMAIL and PHONE any and all of their District and DC offices. Send POST CARDS by USPS to their district office (they arrive sooner) as piles are impressive. Heck for the price, two or three post cards can be sent. Print post cards up and hand them out for a signatures so all they have to do is sign it and drop it in the mail, and by all means plaster the “ONE QUESTION” everywhere possible.

Here is the hard part: put Congresses appearance of complicity aside until after August 1, 2011, until after we have a chance to review their (House, Senate or both) response(s) to our ONE QUESTION, until after they commite one way or the other. Let it go until after August 1, 2011, DON’T ENGAGE IN DEBATE wait until August 1, 2011 – it will drive them nuts. Let it boil within you but only ask “THE” ONE QUESTION a hundred times until August 1, 2011. Give our elected Representatives aka NAILS, our employees a opportunity to respond to their boss WE THE PEOPLE, aka HAMMER.

After August 1, 2001 depending on their response(s) – use your judgment on what to do.

In the mean time as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, lets also prepare for the day after, Tuesday July 5, 2011, which marks the sixth month anniversary of the swearing in of the 112^th Congress. Abraham Lincoln said it best, “We the People are the rightful master of both congress and the courts – not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”

In most states, there is a waiting period of six months after swearing in of the U.S. Congress before recall petitions can be initiated. On July 5 we can send an indirect direct message, start recalls on them all, each and everyone as we don’t know how they are going to answer our “ONE QUESTION.” Why walk around with one petition, when you can walk around with a fist full of them? Check your local laws and get started July 5, 2011. As for States that do not allow recall of their Senators, start a recall on them anyway, as well as initiate petitions to change any said laws prohibiting the recall of those not representing or responding to our best interest.

HOPE and CHANGE, how about MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN because, WHEN YOU’RE HOLDING A HAMMER, EVERYTHING LOOKS LIKE A NAIL! Ain’t that right Howard Dean YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Just who is allowing this to continue, the U.S. Senate, the House - both, or the courts slow response before the election, after the election, or both? Or WE THE PEOPLE the boss; are we allowing this tyranny to be played against us?

“(CNSNews.com) – In a 30-page report justifying continued military involvement in the NATO-led strikes in Libya, the Obama administration claims that U.S. military involvement is “legitimated” by the UN Security Council – saying that therefore no congressional authorization is needed.

“U.S. forces are playing a constrained and supporting role in a multinational coalition, whose operations are both legitimated by and limited to the terms of a United Nations Security Council Resolution that authorizes the use of force solely to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under attack or threat of attack and to enforce a no-fly zone and an arms embargo,” the report said.

Obama also claimed that the U.S. military’s involvement falls under his constitutional authority as commander in chief and his power to conduct foreign relations.

“Given the important U.S. interests served by U.S. military operations in Libya and the limited nature, scope and duration of the anticipated actions, the President had constitutional authority, as Commander in Chief and Chief Executive and pursuant to his foreign affairs powers, to direct such limited military operations abroad,” the report said.

Thirdly, the administration claims that its actions are not governed by the War Powers Act because the U.S. involvement does not constitute “hostilities” – the term used by the act to limit the time the president may commit U.S. forces into combat.

The War Powers Act limits the president to a unilateral military commitment of no more than 60 days before he must request congressional authorization.

However, Obama claims that he needs no such authorization.

“The President is of the view that the current U.S. military operations in Libya are consistent with the War Powers Resolution and do not under that law require further congressional authorization, because U.S. military operations are distinct from the kind of “hostilities” contemplated by the Resolution’s 60 day termination provision.”

While the report misleadingly uses the term “further authorization,” the fact is that Congress never granted it authorization in the first place. Instead, Obama has issued a series of letters to congressional leadership explaining his actions and has dispatched various aides and surrogates to brief Congress on the mission in Libya.”

Thoughts of somehow having intercepted the latest of the “Weiner” tapes went through my mind, or possibly the LasVegas pressure cooker. He grasped me firmly, but gently, just above my elbow and

guided me into a room, his room.  Then he quietly shut the

door and we were alone.  He approached me soundlessly, from

behind, and spoke in a low, reassuring voice close to my

ear.

"Just relax."

Without warning, he reached down and I felt his strong,

calloused hands start at my ankles, gently probing, and

moving upward along my calves, slowly but steadily. My

breath caught in my throat.

I knew I should be afraid, but somehow I didn't care.  His

touch was so experienced, so sure.  When his hands moved up

onto my thighs, I gave a slight shudder, and partly closed

my eyes.  My pulse was pounding.

I felt his knowing fingers caress my abdomen, my  ribcage.

And then, as he cupped my firm, full breasts in his hands, I

inhaled sharply.

Probing, searching,

knowing what he wanted, he brought his hands to my shoulders,

slid them down my tingling spine and into my panties.

Although I knew nothing about this man, I felt oddly

trusting and expectant. This is a man, I thought.  A man

used to taking charge.  A man not used to taking 'No' for an

answer.  A man who would tell me what he wanted. 

A man who would look into my soul and say . . .

Now that you have taken your cold showers and returned from never land, here is my take on this ingenious little piece of ecstasy - the fact is that these groping sessions are exacted upon us, the American citizen, a free people, from infant to senior Viagra, and all because we have been misled into believing that dealing with a terrorist by looking for the Fox in the chicken coop is somehow compromising our freedom - what freedom? The freedom we are protecting!?
 

I am publishing this piece without fear of retribution, for it is as powerful a statement as one can make in exposing the hypocrisy that rules the day - dictated behavior in a free society, void of all common sense, and ordered by the State!

There is nothing wrong with either the language nor the substance of this satire. It is a clean and straight forward statement of factual behavior when ruled by legalisms and the State, and a perfect example of Common Sense, or the lack thereof (you are fortunate to have it and smart to know when you don’t - and the State has neither), but it wants to teach our fourth graders about sex (I am sure you remember how that worked out when the State started teaching your kids about their rights - my two beautiful boys turned into little jerks, before we managed to return them back to normal) - I’d say this passes the test.

“Jonah rightly calls today’s David Brooks column a must-read. Brooks discusses Reckless Endangerment, the new book by Gretchen Morgenson and Joshua Rosner exposing Fannie Mae’s role in the runup to the financial crisis. Brooks also rightly credits Michele Bachmann for her important role in publicizing a topic many other national politicians have been silent on.

I’ve only had a chance to give Reckless Endangerment a quick look, but my impression is that it tells the right story, if a bit too much from Fannie Mae’s point of view. In Morgenson and Rosner’s telling, Fannie Mae effectively buys off ACORN and other low-income housing groups. There’s some truth to that, but it underestimates the extent to which ACORN and allied groups forced Fannie Mae into the subprime business in the first place, and sometimes pushed themselves onto Fannie Mae against resistance.

I tell that story in the ACORN chapter of Radical-in-Chief, based on heretofore unseen documents from the ACORN archive at the Wisconsin Historical Society.

I also show that Barack Obama was knee-deep in ACORN activities just as their banking campaign reached its height. In fact, much of ACORN’s national housing campaign in the mid-nineties was coordinated from the Chicago office Obama was funneling money to at the time.

So if the combination of the publication of Reckless Endangerment and Michele Bachmann’s campaign brings a new awareness of Fannie Mae’s role in precipitating the financial crisis, by rights it also ought to raise awareness of ACORN’s role, and Obama’s abetment of ACORN activism as well. Of course, for that very reason, the entire story is likely to be ignored. Maybe only someone like Bachmann has the power to break it through.”

“Faced with bracing evidence and the testimony of four ATF agents contradicting the Justice Department’s initial blanket denials that assault weapons were knowingly allowed to escape into the clutches of Mexican drug cartels, Democrats tried a new approach at a hearing Wednesday.

Rather than focus on questioning the GOP’s investigative tactics, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee sought to subtly channel the burgeoning scandal into a push for new gun control laws.

For instance, Rep. Gerry Connolly, Virginia Democrat, connected the apparently reckless investigative strategy to the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) lobbying pushes.

“The NRA has opposed regulations which would require tracking of multiple gun sales,” Connolly noted in a statement passed out to reporters. “The gun lobby and its advocates in Congress are even trying to pass legislation to eviscerate the ATF’s authority to stop criminals.”

Rep. Carolyn Maloney, New York Democrat, also drew a link between the Operation Fast and Furious scandal and whether ATF agents are plagued by “toothless” laws.

“US Attorneys have complained” that prosecutions for illegally purchasing weapons to resell to criminal networks are viewed by judges as “mere paper violations. Have you heard this criticism before?” Maloney asked the four ATF agents testifying.

“I have and I agree with it,” said Peter Forceilli, who thought a minimum sentence of one year in jail would ensure cooperation from “straw buyers” caught by federal authorities.

Darrell Issa, chairman of the Oversight Committee, sought to intervene.

“I want to caution the witnesses,” Issa said. “The scope of your testimony here is limited, and is not about proposed legislation and the like.”

Elijah Cummings, Maryland Democrat and Issa’s combative foil on the oversight panel, protested vociferously. “It’s only fair” for the ATF agents to speak their mind about whether gun laws should be strengthened, he said.

The shift in tactics by the Democrats came as they also appeared to concede the weight of the evidence Issa was presenting clearly undercut blanket denials initially issued by the Justice Department.

Cummings, for instance, called the four ATF agents “great Americans” for “standing up for what you believe in,” and warned the ATF not to retaliate against the agents.

However, when a top deputy to Attorney General Eric Holder was testifying, Cummings ostentatiously apologized for Issa’s conduct in demanding answers from assistant attorney general Ronald Weich. “Let me apologize,” he said. Issa objected that “you may apologize on behalf of something you say.”

Cummings, in defending Weich, shows Democrats are still invested in defending the Obama administration even as documents and testimony are increasingly undermining the administration’s claims.

But the gun control comments Wednesday indicate they may be preparing to chart a new course: embracing the controversy and using it for their own political purposes.

That would, at the very least, leave less time to save Holder from Issa’s zealous investigation.”

“(CNSNews.com) - Instead of trying to stop the flow of weapons from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels, the Obama administration’s “Operation Fast and Furious” deliberately allowed it to happen. Moreover, “This shift in strategy was known and authorized at the highest levels of the Justice Department,” says a report by congressional staffers.

“Through both the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona and ‘Main Justice’ headquarters in Washington, D.C., the Department closely monitored and supervised the activities of the ATF,” the report says.

On Wednesday, Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, convened a hearing to determine who ultimately authorized the Operation Fast and Furious, who knew about it – “and why it took the murder of a 40-year old border patrol agent and a congressional inquiry before administration officials cancelled it.”

Operation Fast and Furious, conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, was launched in 2009 in an effort to track the flow of guns from U.S. straw purchasers to Mexican cartels.

ATF agents who complained about the recklessness of allowing cartel associates to buy guns in Arizona were reprimanded, the congressional report said.

David Voth, a supervisor at the ATF field division in Phoenix, told complaining agents to back off: “Whether you care or not people of rank and authority at HQ are paying close attention to this case and they also believe we (Phoenix field division) are doing what they envisioned the Southwest Border Groups doing,” Voth wrote in an e-mail dated March 12, 2010. “It may sound cheesy, but we are ‘The Tip of the ATF spear’ when it comes to Southwest Border Firearms Trafficking.

“If you don’t think this is fun you’re in the wrong line of work – period,” the Voth e-mail continued: “This is the pinnacle of U.S. law enforcement techniques. After this, the tool box is empty. Maybe the Maricopa County Jail is hiring detention officers and you can get paid $30,000 (instead of $100,000) to serve lunch to inmates all day.”

Voth’s e-mail was included in a 51-page report by Republican staffers on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Two of the guns purchased by cartel associates were found at the scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent’s murder in December.

Attorney General Eric Holder said in March he ordered the Justice Department inspector general to investigate the ATF’s gun-tracking operation – “to see exactly what happened, and whether or not what happened was appropriate.”

TX State Sen. Interrupts Immigrant’s Testimony: ‘Why Aren’t You Speaking in English?’

If you are giving testimony in front of Texas State Senator Chris Harris, he’d prefer you speak English.

During a Senate hearing on Monday, Antolin Aguirre of the Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition was testifying against Senate Bill 9, a law that would crack down on illegal immigrants in Texas. But instead of giving testimony in English, he decided to give it in Spanish and speak through an interpreter.

Harris wasn’t having any of that. KTRH-RADIO explains:

Two minutes into Antolin Aguirre’s testimony, Sen. Chris Harris, a Republican
from Arlington, interrupted asking Aguirre’s interrupter, “Did I understand him
correctly that he has been here since 1988?” Harris asked. “Why aren’t you
speaking in English then?”

 

Through his interpreter, Aguirre said Spanish is his “first language and
since it is his first time giving testimony he would rather do it in
Spanish.”

 

“It is insulting to us,” Sen. Harris fired back. “It is very insulting. And
if he knows English, he needs to be speaking in English.”

The bill, which would allow police officers to check a suspect’s immigration
status, eventually passed the Senate and will now go before the House.

Who killed the U.S. dollar? This question will be debated by future historians. Already, more people are asking that question than tuned in to find out who shot J.R. on Dallas. The lineup of suspects is long, but it ends with Barack Obama, the triggerman who killed the buck.

The first wound came from Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who expanded the Federal government’s influence far beyond what the writers of the Constitution ever imagined. He devalued the price of gold and made it impossible for ordinary Americans to convert currency to bullion. But FDR was also crucial during America’s World War II victory, a pivotal event that set the stage for America to become the world’s largest creditor and greatest superpower.

LBJ Chooses Guns And Butter

Another suspect is Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson. When I was in college studying economics, our professor made us read history. This seemed counterintuitive until we read about the guns-and-butter policies of the Johnson Administration.

And while Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama make Johnson look like a penny-pincher, Johnson was the first to take a shot at the dollar.

Johnson pressed forward his vision with major spending programs for education, medical care, crime and transportation. He wanted to transform America the way FDR had. And he had a war to fight in Vietnam.

Gold demand rose, creating a drawdown on America’s gold reserves. The root of it all was a growing trade deficit that the United States owed to the rest of the world.

The Administration of John F. Kennedy knew America’s gold standard was in trouble. In January 1961, Kennedy’s Undersecretary of the Treasury, Robert Roosa, suggested the U.S. and Europe pool their gold to prevent a private marketplace for gold in which the price would exceed the mandated price of $35 per ounce. French President Charles de Gaulle reneged on the deal and began to redeem dollars for gold instead of U.S. Treasuries. The drain on U.S. gold became severe.

The 1960s marked a gigantic increase in Federal spending. Johnson’s two-front war was being fought at a prohibitive cost. In 1968, for the first time since 1893, the United States ran a deficit in its balance of trade. Federal debt began to soar. By the end of the 1960s, the U.S. faced the stark choice of eliminating trade deficits or devaluing the dollar.

Gold On Nixon’s Enemies List

On Aug. 15, 1971, President Richard Nixon cut the final link between gold and the dollar. Other nations could no longer redeem rapidly depreciating greenbacks for bullion.

In February 1973, the world’s currencies “floated.” By the end of 1974, the price of gold had soared from $35 to $195 an ounce. The U.S. could suddenly pump dollars without constraint. It was a period during which red flags were being raised for paper investors, few of whom paid any notice.

The majority of investors would pay a steep price for their ignorance. Over the next decade, they suffered through the worst bear market in stocks since the Great Depression and the worst bond market of the 20th century.

A Democrat Gives The Dollar A Reprieve

It is ironic that another Democrat would breathe life into the buck, but that is what President Bill Clinton did.

During the Clinton Administration — with the help of innovative accounting — the dollar stormed back. The disgrace Clinton brought to the Oval Office over the Monica Lewinsky affair seems almost forgivable since his Administration presided over a growing economy and what underpinned it, a strong dollar. More than a decade ago, the world had confidence in the U.S. dollar.

As you can see, the greenback has been experiencing an unprecedented decline since 2001. No doubt much of the weakness in the dollar was caused by another guns-and-butter President: George W. Bush.

Just 2½ years into office, Obama is pushing the value of the dollar even lower. It’s so low that the value of the U.S. dollar now threatens to undermine our future and our children’s future.

The notion of bad deeds, specifically curses, coming back to haunt their originator is long established in the English language and was expressed in print as early as 1390, when Geoffrey Chaucer used it in The Parson's Tale: And ofte tyme swich cursynge wrongfully retorneth agayn to hym that curseth, as a bryd that retorneth agayn to his owene nest. 

The Center for Media and Democracy's Real Economy Project is now assessing the total cost to taxpayers of the Wall Street bailout. Multiple federal agencies have disbursed $4.6 trillion dollars in support of the financial sector since the meltdown in 2007-2008. Of that, $2 trillion is still outstanding. Our assessment demonstrates that the Federal Reserve has provided by far the bulk of the funding for the bailout in the form of loans amounting to $3.8 trillion. Little information has been disclosed about what collateral taxpayers have received in return for these loans. CMD also concludes that the bailout is far from over, as the government has active programs authorized to cost up to $2.9 trillion, and still has $2 trillion in outstanding investments and loans.

You are looking at the tip of the iceberg—two ideas in play, one, independence—life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, calling for self-governance; the other, dependence—for the good of all.  The above stated assessment tells you that for the good of all the world’s leadership, through the systematic theft of the individual’s property, is striping the individual of his life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. What to do about it is the problem.  Hundreds of millions of people are caught between a rock and a hard place.

The answer to the problem is clear enough, but it doesn’t fit the world’s current reality. Sociologist Robert K. Merton’s self-fulfilling prophecy:  “in the beginning, a false definition of the situation evoking a new behavior which makes the original false conception come 'true'. This specious validity of the self-fulfilling prophecy perpetuates a reign of error. For the prophet will cite the actual course of events as proof that he was right from the very beginning.”  

The universe is both quantitative and qualitative.  Everyone understands the difference.  Quantity applies to space and time. Quantitatively, the planet Earth compares to one grain of sand on all the beaches in the world. Qualitatively, one can be completely dependent on others. Why are millions of Indians living on the street?  Why was the World Trade Center destroyed and thousands of innocents killed? Why do millions of Middle-East Muslims see Jews as a threat and want to kill them all?

The quality of life is terrible for the majority of the world’s population.  Millions of the miserable in Americans are on the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy, the Tin Man, without a heart, the Cowardly Lion, and the Man of Straw, without a brain, all on their way to see the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  The dream ends back where we were, at square one.

This fairy tale would be true were it not for the Mayan calendar. The world turns; it transits around the sun; the sun around the galaxy.  We are about to reach the tipping point of a galactic change.  Thousands of responses to my blogs at www.mymiraclemessage.com  say a groundswell of new thought is building that is going to break and sweep the world.  

I’m thinking about Woodrow Wilson’s progressive inspired depression. It didn’t last but a year. President Harding took care of Wilson’s progressive attempt to make socialist slaves of us. And then there was Jimmy Carter’s progressive inspired stagflation, which didn’t last either, not after Ronald Reagan took office and changed directions. The change coming with the end of Barack Obama’s economic disaster, according to the Mayan calendar, on December 21, 2012—be ready for astounding news—is going be an evolvement that happens once in many thousands of years.  But, ah, this change I’m speaking of, “the progressive order of the divine dealings of God with humanity, ‘the increasing purpose’ which runs through and links together the ages, from the beginning of the life of man to the end in eternity,” says Rev. C.I. Scofield, Editor of the Scofield Reference Bible, makes it clear to me this one is going to be the big change the world is waiting for.  Welcome to the Age of Aquarius.

Rev. Scofield: “The appointed mission of Israel was (1) to be a witness to the unity of God in the midst of universal idolatry; (2) to illustrate to the nations the greater blessedness of serving the one true God; (3) to receive and preserve the Divine revelation; (4) to produce the Messiah, earth’s Savior and Lord,” Jesus told us, “in earth as it is in heaven . . .But seek ye first the kingdom of God.” There is a distinction. By now you are probably aware that President Obama’s recently released “Certificate of Live Birth”, which you provided to me above has been found to be fraudulent by an international expert on scanners and document-imaging software and he has recently filed a 22-page criminal complaint with the FBI to that effect.

For your information, I have included some information regarding subject criminal complaint below:

On or about May 31, 2011, Mr. Doug Vogt, an international expert on scanners and document-imaging software filed a 22-page criminal complaint with the FBI charging that the long-form birth certificate released by the White House, on or about April 27, 2011, is criminally fraudulent.

Background on Mr. Doug Vogt:

Since 1993, Vogt has owned Archive Index Systems Inc., in Bellevue, Wash., a company that sells a wide variety of document scanners worldwide and develops document-imaging software.

Before that, Vogt owned Nova Typesetting for 11 years.

Mr. Vogt stated the following in the Criminal Complaint:

“What the Obama administration released is a PDF image that they are trying to pass off as a Certificate of Live Birth Long Form printed on green security paper by the Hawaiian Health Department,” Doug Vogt writes, “but this form is a created forgery.” 

Mr. Vogt’s criminal complaint asserted: 

“I have irrefutably proven that the Certificate of Live Birth that President Obama presented to the world on April 27, 2011, is a fraudulently created document put together using the Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator programs, and the creation of this forgery of a public document constitutes a class B felony in Hawaii and multiple violations under U.S. Code section Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 47, Sec.1028, and therefore an impeachable offense.”

“It is a logical conclusion,” he says, “that since President Barack Obama felt it necessary to have a Certificate of Live Birth forged for himself then we must conclude that there is in fact no birth certificate in Hawaii and therefore he was not born inside the United States, as the Constitution requires, and he knew it and others also knew it but wanted him in office for whatever reason.”

When the Obama birth certificate “forgery” comes to the public’s attention, Vogt continues, “It will surpass all previous scandals including the Watergate scandal of the Nixon administration.”
