My latest blogs have concerned themselves with the means at our disposal to effect positive changes in the government.  During our discussion today I will be talking about the Tea Parties.  Yeah.  That pluralization is deliberate.

Let’s talk about three things in that regard.

  1. Unity of Purpose
  2. Unity of Core Values
  3. Unity on Issues

There seems to be three tea parties in our country and they differ in kind.

There is The Tea Party Patriots with a web site located here. They claim to be the original and have three basic principles which almost all conservatives can agree on.

Then there is the Tea Party Command Center a somewhat pretentious name and organization that has fifteen “core values”.  All of them good, but they represent a shot gun approach to what is essentially a surgical situation.  Their primary benefit to the movement is their strict adherence to the first amendment and allowing any member to post blogs with any content.  Good site, but you sometimes have to get through the rants to find the good stuff.  Website here

Then there is The Tea Party Express.  The web site is here.  if you look in their “about” page you will see six mission statements.  The second of which is pertinent here:  Reduce the size and intrusiveness of government.  I don’t really know much about this one except I have learned to read the news they put out.  Usually quite trustworthy.

OK.  Let’s talk about that solution I mentioned.

There are actually enough votes out there to stop the liberal agenda if these groups and their spinoffs can just get together on a one or two issue agenda for the very next election.  Yes I am saying we could take over the senate and put some real conservatives in the house.  We could begin to correct the Obama agenda of destruction.

The key (and hardest part) of that program is getting so many people to agree on which is the right path.  Of course I have some suggestions and some reasoning to back them up.

The very FIRST thing is a voter ID law in the key states at the very least.  Let’s take a look at the state of Nevada as a prime example.  Harry Reid has been elected each time after going into election day behind in the poles by a considerable number of points and that number grows with each election.  He also gets elected each time regardless of those polls.  Makes one wonder how many of the dead in that state come back to life for the election.  Or try California.  Yeah, I know lots of illegals voting but that doesn’t account for Feinstein.  A true mental midget and devout Democratic minion and voter, regardless of her constituency.  Pennsylvania:  Mitt Romney actually got ZERO votes in some precincts!  Now that is just not feasible!  Florida – it would seem that many admitted non citizens took pleasure in voting, some more than once, if we are to believe the news.  Legal actions?  None.  Ohio – a democrat poll worker openly admitted to voting twice for Obama and in fact for the entire democratic ticket.  It even made the news! Action taken?  None.  She wasn’t even removed from the list of poll workers for upcoming election.  The list goes on and on and on.

Enforced voter official ID laws will stop many if not most of these abuses.  The left argues that Voter ID will disenfranchise the elderly and others.  Again this is a gross exaggeration.  The complex I live in is almost entirely senor citizen in population and I know of not one person that didn’t vote because of age or infirmity. Voter ID would not change that.  A certified photo copy of your state ID, already a requirement in almost all states, works just fine for the absentee voter.  So just who would it disenfranchise?  Only those unable to vote legally.  So I guess it might truly disenfranchise a lot of the liberal support.  No wonder they oppose it.

The only other thing we need in the immediate future is a term limit amendment.  One of my earlier posts used the figures of one term for the US Senate.  3 terms for the US House.

Don’t misunderstand me here I like the proposed “28th amendment that is all over the emails for the last few years.  I just believe this one is more, much more, necessary in the immediate future..

The only way I see any of this happening is for the various Tea Party factions to get their act together and present a united front for once.  Perhaps firing a couple of their more unanalytical analysts. I honestly believe that if they and we concentrate and I mean CONCENTRATE our resources on just one big thing like the voter ID in most states, we will have a good chance of reversing some of the damage commencing right after the next congress is sworn in.  Think about it.  Please.

In a recent blog I suggested a possible way to reverse the domination of the federal government over our lives and return to a true Constitutional Republic by obtaining two things.  Two amendments really.  Term Limits and Voter ID.  It so happens I posted that same blog in three different places on the web and received the same question from several different people which I will attempt to answer here.  I know some will not like this answer, but it is the only one I can envision as being remotely possible.

Allow me to begin with a little background on the enacting of Amendments to the constitution.  Here is what the fifth article of our Constitution states about enacting amendments.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

The simple way is to have the congress propose the amendment then have 75% or 39 states ratify it.  The harder way is for the legislatures of 2/3rds or 34 of the states to call for a constitutional convention.  The only way that I see for this to happen is that second way.  I just cannot see the power mad people in our congress limiting their power in any manner.

OK so now we know the mechanics involved; how do we make it happen?  We have the ability and the means to generate a ground swell of support for this.  It is called The Tea Party.  BUT.  Therein lies another problem.  There is not one Tea Party in this country.  There are at least three national organizations calling themselves “The Tea Party.”  They agree on many things.  The main point of disagreement is all in the how.

The ‘Tea Party Patriots’ as seen at http://teaparty.net I believe was the first to open a site on the web.  They brook almost no outside comment, but do disseminate information.  They have their own set of core beliefs they adhere to.  The second is http://teaparty.org.  They seek comments from members and this blog will be posted on that site.  They also have their core beliefs, which are different in kind form the other two.  The third is the Tea Party Express.  Sorry I don’t have their web site as I don’t personally enjoy some of their methods.  Therein lays the rub.  Their methods.  I will leave an in depth analysis of those methods for another and, trust me, much more boring blog.  Suffice it to say they don’t approach the same problems, on some cases, and certainly go about attacking those problems in vastly different ways.  Now that can be a good thing!  IF they could just focus!  If they got together and used their dissimilar approaches to get those state legislatures to call that convention we could have one in about two years.

Simple, right?  Yeah sure.

Let me close with one thought.  Without, at the very least, the voter ID laws passed in a vast majority of the states, the liberals will continue to win and We The People shall continue to lose.  Because the dead have come back to life and are voting democratic as are the illegals in every state!

Indicators of a Dying Culture

Some of you know that I am a dilettante in the field of what I call “Sociological History”.  All that really means is that I don’t have a degree in the field, but do try to study and learn from it.

Sociological history is the study of the effects of society on governments and the world at large.  Something the governments of all ages tend to ignore, particularly those that are driven by the urge to power.

Most of the signs of the collapse of any culture are micro rather than macro.  It is not the riots and sit-ins that tell the tale.  One of the first signs is the populace’s loss of faith in their law enforcement and court system.  Think of Eric Holter and the 4th, 7th , and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  Think about the inroads the DHS has made from its beginnings as an information gathering agency.  Others are the inflation of the currency particularly coupled with increased taxation and increases of the ration of the productive to those on the public payroll and the debt being greater than the country’s Gross National Product.  Laws that attempt to sweep back the tide such as drug or pornography laws that can’t actually work and are seldom enforced.  Governmental attempts to outlaw certain sexual behaviors done in private between consenting adults such as prostitution, etc.  Does any of this sound familiar?

However the crowning thing in all of this that signals the near total collapse of ANY culture is RUDENESS.  A loss of consideration for others in minor matters.  A loss of gentle manners is more significant than riots.  This symptom is most serious in that the individual never thinks of it a sign of societal death, but as proof of his/her/their strength.

Once this last symptom becomes wide spread it has never been stopped short of the death of that culture.  Am I saying we don’t have a chance?  Actually, I am not.  You see, just as the health industry has progressed to the point of literally resuscitating the dead or near dead patient, we have developed a mechanism to revive our culture.  That mechanism is our unique and tested Constitution.  IF and I repeat, IF we can force our governing, elected officials to obey the rule of law for this country we can regain our unique cultural heritage.  If we cannot … we shall go the way of the various French ‘Republics’ and monarchies; of Marxism and Communism, even of the ancient Greek republic.  I wonder if we have the guts to do this.  As for now I despair.  I see even organizations bragging about being rude and crude, to say nothing of some elected officials that have been elected officials way too long.

For those interested in this I might invite you take a look at Gibbon and Smith’s From the Yalu to the Precipice.  Although that last is a very doctrinaire treatment it can lead to some valuable insights.  For our purposes here I highly recommend Penn’s The Last Days of the Sweet Land of Liberty.

Could this be the way?

Could this be the way?

I lived in Nevada when Harry Reid was first elected to the Governorship of that state.  He was not a bad guy then.  He has changed.  He has become infected with the disease of Power.  Not the power to do good or even the power to do evil, but the power to wield Power.  This one aspect of his life has turned a decent guy into an evil man.  We see this every day with our long term politicians.  Take a look at John McCain:  Graduate of The U.S Naval Academy, Captain in the U.S. Navy, Suffered as a POW, formerly a staunch conservative.  He has served in the US Senate since 1987.  He now suffers from that same disease.  You can see it in his every public comment these days.  I could go on with a litany of both Democrats and Republicans that have ‘served’ in both the house and senate for more than one or two terms and demonstrate the movement toward and the succumbing to the disease of Power.  These people are no longer in office to ‘serve’ but to command.

BOH said after he was elected the first time (he came to office already infected) that the people should leave governing and governing decisions to the professionals.  They should not concern themselves with the process nor the results.  Yeah, he really did!

The Federalist Papers allude to the “citizen politician”; one who would serve his term and go back home to make an honest living.  How would you like to get a job that assured you of an income for life equal to the highest pay you attained while in that job and that income be guaranteed the moment you were on the payroll?  Or how about a position that placed you above the law?  You could actually exempt yourself from having to obey any law you imposed on the rest of society.  How about having the rest of the population pay to protect you from them no matter how unpopular or tyrannical your actions became.

I have an idea.  It is not a new idea and it certainly isn’t original with me, but it may be an idea whose time has come.

TERM LIMITS!  Stringent term limits.  One term for a senator, three for the house members and two for the president, although that last one may be a bit excessive in some cases.

The other suggestion I have is the voter ID.  We all know of the voter fraud and copious numbers of dead people that voted in the last election.  Again I must refer to Harry Reid.  In each of his elections he has trailed in the polls by significant numbers on Election Day yet he keeps getting elected? (He quit the governor’s office to become senator the first time.)  I wonder if every voter had to prove who they were how he would fare.  Am I accusing his committee of voter fraud?  Nope.  I have no proof.  No Smoking gun.  Just asking a question.

The term limitations would require a popular movement to amend the Constitution.  Somehow I don’t think we could get the elected ones to begin that process.

Just what is the ‘Sequester” in terms of dollars?  The simplest explanation I have run across is “To put this in perspective, consider that in fiscal year 2012 the federal government spent $3.538 trillion dollars, and is on track to spend $3.796 trillion this year. That means the sequester is about 2.24% of the federal budget. Is it really plausible that such a cut – which would put the federal government’s spending at a level still above the previous year – should result in drastic cuts in essential services?

The kicker in all of this is the sequester cuts are not discretionary within each department.  There are specific cuts that must be made in specific areas.

The Ugly:  Obama will and has used it to “punish” the American people for not allowing him to have his way.  He has already released several thousand Mexican criminals, NOT just illegal immigrants, CRIMINALS!  Let’s face it.  Under his orders to ICE they would not be in prison just for breaking the immigration laws.  He won’t allow that.  They only go to prison for breaking other laws.  His excuse?  The sequester made him do it.  Trust me, that is just another of his many lies.  But then you knew that didn’t you?

The Bad:  The defense budget will be cut almost 13% across the board. The security lines at the airport will get longer and slower.  Hmm I can’t think of any other bad things.  I’ll work on that.

The Good:  The federal government will have to tighten its belt by 2.4% ACROSS THE BOARD!  Except for the so called entitlements.  Your Social Security check will remain the same, Medicare and Medicade and the VA medical benefits won’t be touched.  As I understand it the exceptions will cause the higher percentage number for the DOD and many agencies will see the higher 12 or 13% cuts.  If I am wrong about those numbers, and you have verifiable information I would really like to hear from you.

Why is this a good thing?  We in the Tea Party and many who aren’t have been screaming that we want, indeed, need a smaller federal government.  That is the first effect of the sequester.  Personally I would like to see a new sequester every year for the next fifteen years.  We would then be spending a little less than we take in and could actually pay down the outrageous debt.  A debt that now exceeds our total GNP and that is one definition of bankruptcy.

One of the good results will be the reduction in Janet Napolitano’s American Gestapo aka the DHS.  And that is a very good thing.  Oh, and the Big Bureaucracies will feel the pinch with enforced unpaid time off.  Such a shame.

As the witching hour approaches and the sequester seems to be a sure thing Obama is quoted as saying it’s “dumb” but it’s “not going to be an apocalypse.”  Isn’t this the same guy that has been telling us all week what a disaster this is going to be?  So bad in fact that he was ‘Forced’ to release thousands of illegal alien convicted of crimes back to the streets because they couldn’t afford to keep them in prison with the sequester??  Yeah, that‘s the guy.

Obama's Econimic Ideals

An understanding of political economic systems is important.and necessary to an informed voter.  There are four of these basic systems:  Communism, Socialism, Nazism and Capitalism.  Let’s take a look at each in turn.

Communism as envisioned by Mao Zedong or Mao Tse-tung as we print it here in the US and Joseph Stalin.  Communism is simply a form of government that owns everything and portions out to the people as they see fit to do so. Individual freedom is almost unheard of in these systems.  It inherently derides individual initiative and ambition seeking instead to ‘equalize’ all people and bend them to the will of the governors.  Your job is from the government and they can pay you what ever and however they wish.  Your home belongs to the government and they decide how many as well as who each structure will hold without consulting the occupants.  No ability to forcefully or passively resist is tolerated

Socialism espoused by the Greeks and French and even the English provides for a government that endeavors to use wage earners money in the form of taxes to care for the infirm, elderly and indolent.  Individual freedoms are tolerated until they interfere with the government operation as determined by that government.  All businesses and most of the property is privately owned and pay an enforced tax to support the governments largess. Free speech is usually tolerated; however, the ability to forcefully resist is strictly prohibited.  Extremely strict arms control.  In England not even the police were allowed weapons until late in the twentieth century when they finally woke up to the fact the criminals were armed in spite of the laws.  The police and criminals now carry weapons. The citizenry does not.

Nazism  as practiced by Adolf Hitler and Barak Obama is an economic system that allows each to own their businesses and homes and maintain their own private property, but uses the power inherent in the government to rigidly control how those businesses and properties are managed and used.  Individual freedoms including the right to speak your mind are strictly limited to those that agree with the government and/or those in power.  No ability to forcefully or passively resist is tolerated.

Capitalism as envisioned by Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton et al establishes a government with very little control over the populace and all businesses and property is in the hands of individuals and those businesses with the exception of that property necessary for the operation of the government.  The ability to forcefully resist and speak out is not only allowed but actively encouraged.

There are many examples of different combnations of these systems.  It is generally agreed that our own country began to embrace socialism with FDR; however, it was a more or less gentle encroachment that broadened with each change in administration until the present day.

Enter Barak Obama.

A little history is required here.  Barak H. Obama, Barry Soretero, or what ever his name is, received his early education in a strict muslim school in a strict muslim country.  ( I will NOT capitalize that word)  He then supposedly received his college education and while pursuing that education enrolled in courses taught by professors who embraced the socialist and in at least two cases the nazi economies.  He attended a church later in life and while in Chicago that was led by a ‘minister’ that railed against the United States and all of its hard won freedoms, calling those freedoms terms like idiotic.  The instructions and teachings this man was exposed to all of his life led him to abhor Communism and particularly the dreaded Capitalism.  He has been diagnosed on three different continents by qualified psychiatrists as suffering from narcissistic personality disorder.  (Those that wish these Drs. names please leave me a message NOT a comment.  I will attempt to either find them again or redo the research.)  One in Israel, one in Switzerland and four on the north American continent.

Let’s take a moment to define that particular sickness.  The simples and most cogent definition I have found is: “Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which the individual is described as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity. This condition affects one percent of the population.  First formulated in 1968, it was historically called megalomania, and is severe egocentrism.“  Basically the person suffering from NPD cannot conceive of themselves being wrong.  In the film To Die For, Nicole Kidman's character wants to appear on television at all costs, even if this involves murdering her husband.  A psychiatric assessment of her character noted that she "was seen as a prototypical narcissistic person by the raters: on average, she satisfied 8 of 9 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder... had she been evaluated for personality disorders, she would receive a diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder."

.

It would seem from these factors that convincing BOH that he is leading our country down the path of destruction is not a valid strategy.  He must either be suffered or removed.

I have spent the past week or so doing research to write a blog on the dangers involved in the current government's spending policies and the effect they will have on each of us.  Then I received this email from The Sovereign Man, aka Simon Black.  I will still write that blog at a later date but Mr. Black has stated it so well and with a different approach than I am planning that I wanted to share his comments with you.  The following is the Email I received in toto:

By 1789, a lot of French people were starving. Their economy had long since deteriorated into a weak, pitiful shell. Decades of unsustainable spending had left the French treasury depleted. The currency was being rapidly debased. Food was scarce, and expensive.

Perhaps most famously, though, the French monarchy was dangerously out of touch with reality, historically enshrined with the quip, "Let them eat cake."

The Bourbon monarchy paid the price for it, eventually losing their heads in a 1793 execution.  But it took the French economy decades to finally recover.

Along the way, the government tried an experiment: issuing a form of paper money. It didn't matter to the French politicians that every previous experiment with paper money in history had been an absolute disaster.

As French Assemblyman M. Matrineau put it in 1790, "Paper money under a despotism is dangerous. It favors corruption. But in a nation constitutionally governed, which itself takes care in the emission of its notes [and] determines their number and use, that danger no longer exists."

Translation: This time is different. We're different. We're smarter. We won't suffer the same fate. TRUST US.

Within a few years, hyperinflation had taken hold in France. A measure of flour that sold for two francs in 1790 was selling for 225 francs by 1795. Everything soared. Carriage hires. Butter. Sugar. Everything.

Naturally, the French government decided to fix this problem by printing even more money, doubling the money supply from 7 to 14 billion units in a six-month period.

When these measures also failed, the French government imposed every control in the book-- price controls, capital controls, information controls, people controls. They confiscated lands, they filled the prisons, they waged genocide against their own people.

History shows there are always consequences to entrusting a paper money supply to a tiny handful of men. The French experiment is but one example. Our modern fiat experiment will be another.

Like the French, our politicians think this time is different. Our central bankers think they're smarter. And they want us to trust them. After all, what could go wrong?

Ben Bernanke, a man who has expanded the Federal Reserve balance sheet by nearly 300% during his tenure as central banker, just wrapped up Congressional testimony downplaying the risks of his own money printing:

"We do not see the potential costs of the increased risk-taking in some financial markets as outweighing the benefits of promoting a stronger economic recovery..."

It's also quite interesting that the Federal Reserve Chairman is discussing the 'stronger' economy, especially when by the government's own numbers, US GDP contracted in the 4th quarter of 2012. Meanwhile the price of everything from food to fuel keeps getting higher.

Simultaneously, politicians in the US are racing to avoid imminent 'sequestration' budget cuts. They've created a problem caused by excess spending, and their solution is to ensure they can keep spending.

The French were in the same boat in the 18th century. During the time of Louis XV, no one could imagine how French society could possibly function if they cut the welfare system or defense budget. So they kept spending... kept going into debt... and kept debasing the currency.

We know what happened next.

The US already must borrow money just to pay interest on the money they've already borrowed. The political elite is dangerously out of touch. This time is not different. Assuming otherwise is really dangerous.

Erosion and the Constution

Erosion of the Constitution

I will begin by allegorically defining erosion.  The Grand Canyon was formed out of solid rock by water over eons of time.  Water ‘eroded’ a small obstructing hill into a chasm over a mile deep. Erosion may be insidious, but it is also ruthless.  A term that might be applied to the power mad in Washington of today.

Many people refer to FDR’s New Deal as the start of the erosion of the Constitution by our government.  I submit that it began much earlier than that.  Take a look at Grant’s administration and his use of carpet baggers during the Restoration following the Civil Was.  I could take you on a long and boring walk through many presidencies, but being the kind and gentle soul I am I will spare you that tedium.

So how about some things closer to our time?  OK that should be easy.  Let’s start with the Supreme court hearings during the Carter term.  The media began to make an epithet of the phrase “Strict Constructionist” when referring to candidates that believed the constitution means just what it says.  Skipping over many other worthy examples we come to what, in my opinion, is the single greatest practicing threat to the constitution the so called “Patriot Act” that ended with the formation of the Department of Homeland Security.  This “act” was envisioned by Bush as way to imprison foreign terrorist whether on our soil or some one else's.  You see the constitution strictly prohibits the incarceration of American citizens without that little thing called Habeas Corpus.  Basically that is the right to appear before a judge.  It does not so protect our non-indigenous enemies, nor should it.  The case could be made that it doesn’t even protect a foreign national committing a lesser crime on our soil, but we habitually and rightfully extend that courtesy to them.

Now the Department of Homeland Security (Insecurity?) has decided that our mental property is not a Constitutionally protected asset to the point of saying that they have the right to search and seize your Emails, thoughts committed to hard disc, Text messages, listed phone numbers and anything else they deem ‘potentially subversive’ without either probable cause or a warrent.  Particularly if it is within one hundred miles of ANY border.  I wonder who decided to stop at the one hundred mile point?  Why limit themselves?

In addition we are now subject to spying from the skies by our own government and threatened with murder for being in the company of a non convicted suspected person.  The CIA and FBI has taken the right to open our mail, listen in on our conversations, invade our homes without warrants and on and on and on.

A Constitutional Republic?  Not lately.  I submit to you that most of this is caused by you and me.  We have allowed the country to be taken over by the power hungry politician that is much more concerned with keeping his/her POWER than governing in a constitutional manner.

A flagrant horn blowing

Among other things, I am the webmaster and proud member of the Nicholas County West Virginia Tea Party.

Recently  I added the Constitution and all of the amendments thereto to the web site and spent many hours constructing and annotating a table of contents for each.  Want to look something up in one of the amendments or perhaps the Constitution itself?  Just click the link in the table of contents and it will take you right to the described portion in which you are interested.

I sure hope this doesn't violate some rule here.  If it does just let me know and I will remove it.

If you do drop by please let me know what you think in one of our comment boxes.

I believe this needs to be said.  I recognize the danger involved and I accept it.

Let me begin by asking a few simple questions”

  1. What group of people have as a tenet of faith that Christians and Jews are inherently evil and must be eliminated.

     2.   What group of people have as a tenet of faith that they must never befriend anyone not of their belief system.

     3.   What group of people actually have a word to describe the means of eliminating people of any other faith.  The word?  Jihad or Holy War.

There happens to be only one answer to al of those questions – Islam.  All true followers of their prophet Muhammad believe all of those to be basic facts of life.  Why then are we Americans being so sensitive to their feelings?

The prime Minister of Australia issued a statement over two years ago letting Islamist know they would either follow the rules and be true to the Australian ideal of civility or they were summarily invited to leave the country.  The Muslim Brotherhood can’t seem to get a firm foot hold in that country, yet our Secretary of state has a member as one of her assistants.  Hmmmm I wonder why?  .It is even reported that six or more of Obama’s “advisers” are card carrying members also.  Gad.

Have we become so blase to our freedom that absolutely anything is to be allowed?  I recognize and respect the need to TOLERATE other religions.  I do not recognize the need to encourage infiltration by people or religions that have a sworn duty to kill any and all ‘infidels’. By the way, just in case you didn’t know, any person not of the Islamic faith is, by definition, and infidel.

Wake up America!  Islam has officially declared Jihad against us.  So why are we, or rather our government, so interested in appeasing them.  When someone declares war isn’t it usual to fight back?  At least to the point of attempting to prevent infiltration by the enemy.  Perhaps as in, oh maybe, Hilary and 'our' president having Muslim Brotherhood members on their immediate staff?

Of course one could always aid and abet them by making a grab for our guns.  The would work wouldn’t it? Certainly would make it easier to knock off this bunch of infidels called the United States of America.

Enough said.

But then perhaps I am just another bigot

A problem more devastating than the liberals

Ok Rick, just what could be a bigger problem for this country than the liberals?

My answer to that is the total lack of any form of true journalism in this country.  I may be revealing my age here, but I am old enough to remember the Edward R. Murrow’s of the past.  Reporters that actually reported the news.  They didn’t feel compelled to “explain it”.  They were compelled to get their hands dirty digging it our, confirming it and reporting what they found letting the chips fall where they may.  I wonder where all of the investigative reporters of yesteryear have gone, after they were fired by the new liberal media?

Think about this for a moment.  Where would Obama be if the media were to do its job?  If they demanded answers instead of providing them or ignoring them.  For instance, and this is only one of many, the unions rioted after the Michigan people passed a right to work law in their state.  People were beaten for supporting their elected representatives!  By union thugs caught on video cameras!  With sound!  The main stream media just ignored it instead of simply reporting it without comment.  They didn’t want to harm the money flow to the liberals from those same thugs.

The conservatives are just as guilty.  They take any chance they can get to sensationalize any story they feel will aid their cause.  Fair and balanced reporting?  That is left to those of us in the blogging world that has a conscience and is interested in the truth and only to us.  Not even Rush is immune to this sickness.  FOX News?  Yeah them too.

Case in point:  I received an email about a town that supposedly had an ordinance on the books “requiring” homeowners to own a gun.  I made a couple of simple phone calls to find out that there is such a law, but that it was enacted in 1982 and has never been enforced.  It was a small southern town reacting to Chicago suburbs enacting ordinances severely restricting gun ownership. I posted the news.  No commentary other than to espouse the forthrightness of the people I spoke with.  I believe the American people should be allowed to form their own opinions with out inserting a nose ring.

Just suppose politicians had to stand on their own without the directed support of these “talking heads”.  Does anyone actually believe that a man who refuses to release any accurate information of his own history COULD be elected?  Journalist would be in there digging out the truth.  It would all be revealed for us to make up our own minds.  Gee, maybe they actually believe that we must be force fed their opinions because we just don’t have the intelligence to think!  I am afraid I must agree that that is exactly what we are becoming.  I have acquaintances that believe everything Dan Rather and his ilk (sorry that word was an editorial comment) have to say.  When I ask what part of the story was actually “news” they don’t even know why I would ask the question let alone what the answer might be.

I have read several conservative commentators (I refuse to call them bloggers in the true sense) on various sites, most especially this one, refer to Obama’s policies as communist inspired.  Sorry, if you knew the English language, you would know that there is nothing communistic about the man.  He has very definite NAZI leanings, but that is something else entirely.  Surely just as dangerous to our way of life, but in a completely different way.  But then the word communist is an emotion evoking word to use indiscriminately isn’t it?

Here comes an editorial comment:  It is my belief from what little I am allowed to know of this man’s educational background and upbringing in the Muslim culture, that he could not help being anything other that a devout follower of Karl Marx.  Obama is the only public figure that I am aware of that refers to the HOLY Quran.  To everyone else that mentions it, it is simply the Quran.  And in my humble opinion not all that holy either.  Interesting, don’t you think?  End of editorial comment.  Come to think of it that might be a good place to end this blog too.

Have a great day..

The Kennesaw, GA. Gun law update.

Yesterday I posted a blog about an email I received regarding a law or rather an ordinance in Kennsaw, GA. and promised to update you on this.  The following is that update.  The email read, in case you didn't read it:

“The Town of Kennesaw's GA requires all citizens to have a gun in the home and yearly home invasion incidents dropped from 65 to 26 the year after the law went into effect and down to 11 two years after the law. (Makes sense. If you have the option between breaking into a house that most likely has a gun owner and breaking into a house that doesn't...uh...which house are you going to break into?) Also, the town's overall violent crime rate dropped by ~50%, and they still have a crime rate roughly the half the average of the rest of the country. “

Compare that to D.C....highest gun violence rate in the US alongside some of the strictest gun laws (ie, stringent background checks, firearm registration, no concealed carry, no open carry, no high capacity rounds, no assault weapons, no peaceable journey--meaning, if you own a gun in another state, you're not allowed to bring it through D.C. if you're visiting or even just using their roads while traveling.) Even with all of those laws on the law-abiding citizens, they have more gun violence per capita than any state in the Union. "

I have tried to establish the reputation of ALWAYS checking the facts of any news type story on my blogs and did so in this case.  One must remember there are a lot of people that send out emails that contain only a passing knowledge of the facts and those they will exaggerate to their own purposes.  I communicated with a very pleasant and knowledgeable young woman that is the Public Information  Director  for the town of Kennesaw, Ga. One Pam Davis.  She was very forthcoming and never attempted to evade or obfuscate any of my queries and I wish to thank her as publicly as possible.  I could only wish there were more like her out there.

Kennesaw does indeed have a law similar to the one alluded to in this email; however there are several caveats.  Naturally, no felons and some other exemptions were made.  Religious convictions, etcetera.  The ordinance was enacted more as a political statement and response to some bedroom communities in the Chicago area that had passed restrictive gun laws in the early 1980’s.  Kennesaw’s was passed in 1982.  It has never been enforced.  At the time Kennesaw was a town of about 5000 on the outskirts of Atlanta with the traditional Southern conservative values.  It is now a bedroom community of approximately 30,000 with quite a different population mix.  For one thing it is the home of one of the larger Georgia universities so the population age average is quite a bit younger than in 1982.

Ms. Davis has responded to a second call with amazing and gratifying alacrity.  Her answers did indeed contradict that conclusion. It was her statement that the crime rate did indeed go down significantly after that law was passed and that the present crime rate is significantly lower than other cities with similar demographics around the country.  She attributes this to the high visibility of the local police and infers the high quality of the officers employed.  This police force is one of a far too few that have been ceritified by a national organization whose name I didn't want to take her time to write down correctly.  Sorry about that.  It turns out that this is simply a nice well run southern community with good people doing their best to govern in a sane manner.  Which just may be the real story here.

The information on the laws and crime rates in D.C., while exaggerated, are essentially correct.  D.C  does not have the “highest gun violence rate in the US”.  That honor rotates between such places as Chicago (always one of the most violent cities in the US) , NYNY, Los Angeles, and Miami,, depending on where and who you ask and the time of year the question is asked.

I received this email from a friend.

Not being one to take anything at face value I had to research the veracity of this as it really did sound too good to be true.  Here is what I found.

I spoke with the Police Department in Kennesaw and asked them a simple question.  "Does your town have an ordinance requiring home owners to own and have a gun in their home?"  The answer?  A resounding YES!  I was able to confirm most of the facts contained in the above where they concerned Kennesaw from that source  and there are many news articles confirming the statistics of the D.C. area.

Yep.  Gun control WORKS!  Give people control and crime goes way down!

I am to be allowed to interview the police chief and the city PIO later today and will update this after I have done that.

Keep up the fight Tea Partiers!  We ARE on the side of RIGHT!

OK I am comiing out of the closet.   I have become a birther over the last few months.   Anyone with so much to hide he will spend an estimated seven million dollars ($7,000,000) to be sure it stays hidden from the American public makes me think he may have something to hide about who he is.   No verifiable birth certificate (the one on his web site has been proven in several venues to be a phony) no school records, traveling to Pakistan in 1981 when no AMERICAN citizen was allowed to travel there all just makes me suspicious.    Yeah.  Suspicious.

By the way, just where did a community organizer and first term senator get even one million????

President  Harrison J. Bounel

February 15, 2013  by Bob  Livingston

Who is Harrison J. Bounel? According  to the 2009 tax return submitted by President Barack Obama he’s the  President of the United States. All nine U.S. Supreme Court Justices arescheduled to discuss this anomaly  today.

The case in  question is Edward Noonan, et al v. Deborah  Bowen, California Secretary of State, and the  Justices are finally looking at it thanks to the dogged determination of Orly  Taitz. The case calls into question many  of the documents Obama (Bounel, Soetoro, Soebarkah, etc.) has used and/or  released as authentic since he came on the national scene. The case contends  that the documents — birth certificate, Social Security number, Selective  Service registration, etc. — are fakes or forgeries. If that’s the case, Obama  should not have been on the California ballot in 2008 and, therefore, should not  have received the State’s electoral votes.

Four of the nine  Justices must vote to move the case forward. We’ll see.

Meantime, on Feb.  4, Kathleen O’Leary, presiding judge of the 4th District Court of  Appeal, reinstated the appeal of Taitz v. Obama et al filed by Taitz when  she ran for Senate.   That case involves evidence of 1.5 million invalid voter  registrations in the State of California.   The appeal also involves Obama’s lack  of legitimacy to hold the office of President based on his forged IDs, stolen  Connecticut Social Security number, the fact the last name he’s using is not  legally his and his fraudulent claim to be the U.S.  citizen.

Evidence in the  case includes:

  • A certified copy of the passport   records of Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, showing her son’s legal last   name to be Soebarkah, not Obama.

  • Obama’s school records from   Indonesia, showing his citizenship to be Indonesian.

  • Sworn   affidavits of top law enforcement experts and investigators, showing Obama’s   birth certificate and Selective Service certificate are forgeries and that the   Social Security number used by Obama on his 2009 tax returns as posted on   WhiteHouse.gov was fraudulent.   (The SSN failed when checked through both   E-Verify and the Social Security Number Verification   Service.)

On another legal  front, Obama defaulted in the case of Grinols et al v. Obama et al on  Jan. 30 when he failed to file a response within 21 days of being served notice  of the suit. This case also involves Obama’s phony SSN.

The New American Gestapo is already a fact.

The American Gestapo is already here!

The American Gestapo is already here and it was built with your permission and your tax dollars!  Yep, The Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Created after the 9-11 attacks in 2001 the DHS was created  and charged with the primary responsibilities of protecting the United States of America and U.S. territories (including Protectorates) from and responding to terrorist attacks, man-made accidents, and natural disasters.

Back during Obummer’s first run for the White House while making a speech in Denver,  Then Senator Obama stated that he wanted to see a governmental police force as well equipped and armed as all of our armed forces combined.  For some reason he has never spoken of that again.  It is rumored that his advisors jumped all over him for making it in the first place.

Now consider the following facts:  There are DHS offices in every state in the Union; There are DHS offices in over 125 counties in those states; Obummer has begun firing any top ranking general that won’t pledge to fire on American citizens if ordered to do so.  He has already “retired” three of them:  The budget announced for DHS is in the $100,000,000,000 range or one hundred billion dollars of your money each year. The 2010 fiscal year budget was $98,800,000,000 I have never heard of any budget decreasing for any department of the government with the exception of the Military budget of course.

One more example of why we should never trust our government and grant them a blank check without VERY specific instructions.

They took that check and, among other things did a few things that are unconstitutional.  Let’s take a look at one of them before I move on to today’s topic.

The Fourth Amendment to our Constitution, reads – “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”  Would you believe that your DHS has decided that amendment does not pertain within 100 miles of any border in the good old USA?  That means if you live in almost anywhere in the state of Florida you can be searched and your private property seized on the whim of an agent of your DHS.  (You might want to check on the history of the Gestapo at this point) How about NYNY or all of Rhode Island; all of the upper peninsula and more of Michigan; there is even a special proviso that takes in almost the entire states of Pennsylvania. Texas and New Mexico. Just go around the US map and wherever the US stops mark off 100 miles and you are no longer protected by the fourth amendment by DHS fiat.

Now let’s add in a few more facts just to clear things up a little more.  Non-military departments of your government have already purchased enough ammunition to wage a war similar to the one in Iraq for SEVEN YEARS.  Do as I did and look up the number of rounds of ammunition used per month in Iraq by our soldiers and do the math.  Oh , I forgot to mention the reason they espouse for the purchase:” To maintain the qualification with various weapons their agents are required to qualify on each year.  In other words, target practice.  Literally billions of rounds of ammunition already purchased for target practice.  This doesn’t even begin to talk about all of the new military style weapons purchased.  You know the ones I mean.  Those listed in Feinstein’s bill plus many of the fully automatic ones manufactred.

DHS IS your new secret police.  Aren’t you proud?

Some thoughts on how we got here

Benjamin Franklin opined after the continental congress met to sign the Constitution: “those ‘who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

While that is VERY true there is a problem with it in today’s society.  That problem begins with our education system.  The liberal element in this country, abetted by the National Education Association, has been moving for a complete take over for years.  They don’t teach History in our schools these days.  Not the history I learned.  The history that teaches of our struggle to become and remain free.  The history thaat teaches how we fought to stay free of communism, socialism and naziism and gave so many good men and women to that struggle.  The history they teach today is their edited and annotated version.  They throw in their opinions on all of it while simply eliminating any of our history that is counter to their agenda. .  In other words they blatantly brain wash your children.  You see to them, the federal government is everything.  It is the provider of mana from heaven.  NOT your own abilities.

They train our future citizens that the only important function of federal government is to provide them with life and happiness.  They have no idea what it cost us to obtain LIBERTY and they don’t care.  The opening paragraph of the Declaration of Independence argues that we each have the right to the PURSUIT of happiness.  We have the right to seek and earn our happiness.  I say that it is the one thing no government can grant.  It can only be taken away by that government.

Whether a man who has been adjudicated a pathological narcissist, as Obama has, even realises that or gives a damn is, shall we say ‘problematical’ since a pathological narcissist is absolutely convinced that he is always right and doesn’t need anybody telling him anything.  Look it up.

The last couple of generations have been conditioned to believe just the opposite of Mr. Franklin’s statement. It is my strongly held belief that until we can return to teaching our children to think for themselves, formerly the goal of all education, we will suffer the tyranny of a Nazi style government.  The definition of a Nazi style government?  An economic system where the producers are privately owned with STRONG governmental controls on how they operate. Sound familiar?

Impossible to impeach ... YET!

It would be impossible to convict on any article of impeachment as things stand right now.  The house could pass such an article; HOWEVER. the senate then would try Osama errr sorry, Obama.  Figuring out in advance the verdict of such a mockery as the current senate trying this so called president is much more simple than becoming a fortune teller .

The senate would fail to convict.  After all many of the people voting on the issues are guilty of the same crimes!

 Again I say ... HOWEVER!

There is an election coming in just over a year from right now that will put one third of this senate's members at risk of losing their jobs.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could begin our campaign right now to replace just 7 or 8 of the 33 that will be standing for election on that fateful day in November of 2014?

  Hmmm Perhaps then....

I do not trust anyone that calls themselves a Muslim.  I honestly believe the Koran (however you spell it) is a book of evil an will not permit it in my home or place of business and will not enter a business run by such.

If you are in this country contrary to our immigration laws, regardless of Obama’s edicts, you are an illegal alien and should be sent home or jailed.

If you are a Jew or Shintoist or a follower of Buddha or any other religion I will call you that and respect your right to believe as you wish and happily attend your worship service with you if only to learn.  If you are a Muslim, I will shun you because your religion tells you to hate and kill me for being an infidel.  I do fit your definition of ‘infidel’ and do so with pride and all of the strength at my command.

If I wish to wear the flag on my sleeve or my head I deny you any right to tell me I shouldn’t do that as it might offend someone.  Recently Four California high-school students were reportedly suspended for chanting "U.S.A! U.S.A!" and wearing American flag bandanas during a basketball game. I wish I had been there.  I sure would have liked to join in.  The reason for the suspension?  The principle was afraid it was racist and might ‘offend his large Hispanic enrollment’.  He has since lifted the suspension, but vowed to “…look into this further”.  So students were suspended because exercising their first amendment right MIGHT offend?  Someone once said “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.  What happened to that ideal?

We have a country controlled by power hungry men so intent on retaining power that they daily ignore the laws of this land that once was the greatest in the world because of those laws.

So here we are today.  Our debt is now more than our GNP which defines bankruptcy if you are a business man, we are told not to call a person who BLATENTLY violates our laws a criminal,  we are told in contravention to our constitution to register our personal weapons, we are told to sit still for more socialism and power grabs from our government.  We must go along to get along.

I once took an oath to “…protect and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. No one has ever released me from that oath which I took with great pride.  I consider it a part of that oath and therefore my duty, to use my first and second amendment rights to aid me in doing just that.

Enough said.
