Let's Be Honest About Outsourcing
Both candidates in the presidential race have been accusing the other of "outsourcing." It's one of those words that is loaded with negative meaning, implying that the perpetrator is un-American. But does America have an outsourcing problem?
What is popularly referred to as "outsourcing" is the practice of offshoring business functions, including building facilities and employing workers in other countries. Liberals often argue that "sending jobs overseas" is harming America's economy.
They are missing two important truths: The reality of jobs in America, and the ways to bring even more jobs to the home front.
Jobs in America
- The U.S. actually leads the world in manufacturing. Yes, you read that correctly. We produce 21 percent of global manufactured products, while China comes after at 15 percent. According ot the National Association of Manufacturers, "manufacturing supports an estimated 17 million jobs in the U.S.—about one in six private sector jobs."
- Big manufacturers are building new plants here. BMW is adding 300 new jobs to its South Carolina plant this year, and Airbus recently announced it will employ 1,000 at a new plant in Alabama. (Both South Carolina and Alabama are right-to-work states, meaning that workers aren't forced to join unions.)
- Multinational corporations still employ more Americans. U.S.-based multinational corporations employ 22.9 million Americans—more than twice as many people as they employ in China, Mexico, and all other countries combined.
- There is no "giant sucking sound" of jobs and money fleeing the United States. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the total value of foreign investment in the United States exceeds the value of U.S. investments in other countries by more than $4 trillion. Foreign-owned multinational corporations employ 5.5 million people in the United States.
- "Insourced" businesses are a tremendous boon for the U.S. economy. "Insourced" jobs—jobs brought to America by foreign-based companies—account for nearly 5 percent of private-sector employment. These businesses buy more than $1.8 trillion in goods and services from local suppliers and small businesses in the areas where they locate.
How to Boost American Jobs Even More
With an 8.2 percent unemployment rate, America still needs more jobs. There are many steps policymakers could take that would make locating—or relocating—in the U.S. more attractive to businesses.
A quick look at the Index of Economic Freedom, produced by The Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal, reveals America's competitive disadvantages.
Hong Kong, ranked No. 1 in the Index, has an economy that has been growing at 7 percent. That's astounding. In contrast, U.S. GDP growth in the first quarter of 2012 was a paltry 1.9 percent.
There are several reasons why Hong Kong is No. 1 and America is No. 10. Hong Kong's top corporate tax rate is only 16.5 percent, compared to the U.S. rate of 35 percent. Hong Kong's trade regime is one of the world's most competitive and efficient, with a zero tariff rate. And its regulatory environment is "highly supportive of business efficiency."
Meanwhile, in the U.S., runaway regulations growing by the day make doing business vastly more expensive and difficult. The government is holding back the economy through regulation and its nonstop deficit spending, as Heritage's Bryan Riley explains:
Excessive federal spending and the resulting budget deficit continue to be a problem. Foreign investors spent more than $400 billion on U.S. Treasury securities in 2011. This is another way to say that the government borrowed more than $400 billion from foreign investors. Those dollars could have been invested otherwise in the private sector of the U.S. economy or spent on U.S. exports.
While concern about outsourcing is misplaced, there are many ways the U.S. could attract even more jobs than it already does. Increasing our own economic freedom would spur growth in the economy, bringing greater prosperity and new enterprises to our shores.
Do you know that the Senate is about to vote on a treaty that would put us under international law when it comes to parenting our special needs children?
On its surface, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) sounds like it will protect those with disabilities and many are supporting it with good intentions. When you look deeper, it actually gives the government the power, with direction from the U.N., to decide what is best for our children.
I agree with Senator Jim DeMint, "Why should we submit ourselves to other nations who have been far less effective and committed to this cause? We can be the light on the hill ... why should we submit instead of lead?"
Senator John Kerry is rushing this through a committee vote today and planning for a full vote on the floor by next week. Some have suggested that they are in a hurry to get it ratified before the American people demand a debate.
Remember, if ratified, CRPD would become the law of the land under the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause, and would trump state laws, and could be used as precedent by state and federal judges.
Two provisions of the treaty concern me the most:
- One provision in the treaty would give the government, acting under U.N. instructions, the ability to determine for all children with disabilities what is best for them.
- Secondly, if CRPD were ratified, it would give the U.N. discretion over decisions about how we educate our special needs kids, and could potentially eliminate parental rights for the education of children with disabilities.
I'm sure you can understand that we come at this issue from a personal angle.
As you may know, our daughter Bella is a precious special needs child. In working with healthcare professionals, early on we found that a few advised treatments were not helpful to Bella. In fact, they could actually have been quite harmful. As her parents, we were able to make the decisions that were best for her.
Karen and I have found that we are far from alone. Many parents across the U.S. care for their special needs children, and they are the best equipped to do so. The government cannot determine the right education path for a child they have never met.
Since CPRD is a treaty, the U.S. Constitution requires that it must be ratified by two-thirds of the U.S. senators present. We need to make sure that 34 senators vote "NO"!

Since the birth of the Tea Party, we have had great success if replacing liberal, establishment Republicans with Tea Party conservatives. When Mike Lee defeated "Bailout Bob" Bennett, we sent a shot across the bow of the RINO Republicans.

In Florida, redistricting placed two incumbents John Mica and Tea Party freshman Sandy Adams in the same district. Mica is a career politician who has now been caught with his hands in cookie jar.
Since his election to Congress 20 years ago, Mica has become a world traveler -- on the taxpayer dime.
Adams estimates that Mica's trips to countries like Malaysia, Italy and France have cost taxpayers in excess of $4 million. Adams spokesman Lisa Boothe said, "John Mica’s decision to put his international travel bucket list ahead of Central Florida taxpayers is appalling. While Mica has been attempting to pull the wool over voters’ eyes by denying his long history of runaway spending and record-setting earmarks, his 20 years in Congress tell a different story. On top of adding $10 trillion to our nation’s debt and requesting $4 billion in earmarks, Mica has been earning frequent flyer miles on the backs of hard-working Americans. At a time when Central Florida families and small businesses are struggling to pay their bills, how can Mica justify jet setting on their dime to some of the world's most popular international travel destinations?”

The other day I wrote that there are two types of people, those who lead and those who are led. Obama reminded me that there is a third type, the independent. Obama reminded me that I’m for government financing the building of roads and bridges, something government does that we can’t individually do.
Being of sound mind and body, why would one need government help? Why would Obama insist? He is a communist. Communists envision a world of their own making and forcing all the pieces to fit.
Obama ran for president on the idea that he was a Roosevelt Democrat. After 77 years of Social Security, Roosevelt’s thing, government spending is out of control. America’s national debt is oppressive, as is communism. I’ve yet to hear a solution from any of the elected. To continue on the course they are leading America means the end of freedom as we know it. The logical thing to do is to phase out government entitlements the way they were phased in; don’t put any new workers on the system and don’t tax them on Social Security. In 77 years, government entitlement would be a thing of the past. The system that made America great in the first place would be back in place.
Obama’s shell game—we didn’t do it all by our lonesome selves; government helped us out—communist talk. And Romney has a long, detailed plan to balance the budget. Neither dog will hunt.
The solution is simple. Start now to phase out government entitlements. It’s a crime to continue forcing young workers to pay for something they will never receive: social security. With Romney’s plan, they will pay for the debt previous generations created and get nothing in return, or worse. Andy time, the economy could go over the cliff and leave the world back in the Dark Age. Phasing out government entitlements would leave America back where she was, the leader of the free world.
The world is becoming of one mind. It doesn’t stop there. The universe is of one mind. We are each fragments of the one mind. To think that man could ignore the fact is crazy. We are not herd animals. We of sound mind and body were created to cope as human beings—not as animals—but to live together in peace.
If you think your government is going to fix the problem it caused, you are wrong. America is a government of the people for the people. Your self-serving government has conned half of the American people into dependency. Romney is the lesser of the two evils, but it is up to the people to lead the way back, especially the young people.
You Americans of sound mind and body, would you throw the old folks and the helpless under the buss? Of course you wouldn’t. Would you strap yourselves with a national debt that would keep you and future generations in poverty? Of course you wouldn’t. Would you keep America the policemen of the world? Of course you wouldn’t. Are you willing to let leaders, weasels who remain deadlocked in battle, keep their seat of the pants thinking in place, keep us from our destiny as human beings with an outrageous debt, of course you would not—not if you are of sound mind and body. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the problem of uncontrolled government spending.
You can’t have your cake and eat it. Does it make sense to phase out government entitlements? You of sound mind and body, the engine of American enterprise—the source—what else but phasing out government entitlement and placing yourselves back in control?

Do you think our present troubles are small? In comparison to what our lives to date have been no way! But, in comparison to the troubles our founders experienced,.. They endured so much tyranny that they decided as a nation to fight for freedom. I can’t really fathom what must have gone through their minds. But they had enough. They were guarding with jealous attention their public liberty.
Today, we have our own fight for freedom; freedom from tyranny – from our own government! The government of we the people! It has been taken over by zealots and selfish predators. Lately hearing the things on of Obumers mouth I wonder just were he got his education. They say he went to Harvard, I really think he never got passed the 3rd grade. He sure can’t do math just look at the debt, he think 2+2 = 10. And economics he doesn’t know a thing about, I think he slept through the class.
I’ve lessen to his attacks on Romney not a one of them make sense to me. What has Obumer ever done , what is his working past? Nothing I bet he’s never ran even a paper route. Guess he’s just walked around with his hand out, looking for freebies.

Sadly, it seems that President Obama believes that we live in a country where you can change the law simply by giving a speech.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen President Obama's absolute disregard for the Constitution on a variety of issues, from healthcare to immigration to marriage.
The role of President, by design, is quite limited. You actually do need Congress to change laws, at least according to the Constitution.
This past Friday, the President gutted the landmark welfare reform law that I coauthored in 1996. He instructed Health and Human Services (HHS) to remove the work requirement for welfare recipients.
This legislation had been passed by the House and Senate and signed by a President, which is the requirement to change laws, yet he changed this major piece of legislation and ignored the intent of Congress all by simply giving a speech.
Here are some additional abuses by President Obama:
- Earlier this year, he made three recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) when the Senate was still in session.
- He had his Justice Department file a lawsuit against the state of Arizona for enforcing immigration laws. Arizona was just enforcing the laws that Obama refused to enforce.
- By giving a speech, he announced that he would now follow the DREAM Act, a law Congress has not passed. He instructed his Department of Homeland Security to no longer deport young illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria he set.
- He instructed his Justice Department to stop enforcing DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, a law duly passed by Congress, simply because he did not like the law.
- He instructed HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to grant waivers, and establish new budgets and guidelines for implementing Obamacare, without any Congressional oversight.
- He had his Department of Interior illegally place a moratorium on offshore drilling. This was illegal because a federal judge in Louisiana held them in contempt of court for "dismissive conduct" for doing that earlier.
- His Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has implemented one job-killing policy after another, without Congressional approval.

The affective position of this Motion and ORDER is actually in protection of the Democratic Party Nominee of which it is easily assumed more than half of all Americans have a stake in for election of the next President of the United States.
Assuming for instance, the Court does not hear this action, or adopt the Petitioner’s ORDER, the result could substantially affect the election process in the following scenario. Mitt Romney becomes the nominee for the Republican Party, and once he has the nomination, with affective and competitive standing, (just like Petition has right now within the Democratic Party), decides because he is down in the polls to challenge Barack Obama’s eligibility because he is not qualified as a natural born citizen, and wins affectively eliminating the entire Democratic Party chances in the election because it’s too late to reorganize prior the November 6th 2012 election.
If the Court somehow believes or is certain Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee would not do such a thing basically all of the lower Court’s decisions that represent dismissals because of Standing are moot, because a parties nominee has affective standing to challenge any other Parties Candidate for eligibility. If for instance Barack Obama won the Democratic Party nomination and went on to win the general election but Mitt Romney had filed a eligibility complaint to this Court having lost in a very close call, Mitt Romney could Constitutionally remove Barack Obama from his general election win, and that could cause a real chaos in the Nation. Hence it is a much better scenario for the Court to hear this challenge now, and procedurally adopt this Motion and grant the ORDER attached.

James C. Watson, a frequent poster, says, “We’ve all been hoodwinked.” The problem is that we all have different ideas on how we’ve been hoodwinked. A house divided soon falls.
State is defined as the condition of a person or thing, the thing, in America’s case, the welfare state, the condition, codependence between the person and state. Codependency is defined as an addiction, in this case, between the person and state. For the past century, America has been progressing toward big, oppressive government. Under “Higher Law,” the background of the U. S. Constitution, I say we are here with increasing purpose, to progress toward freedom and independence.
The U.S. Constitution was set up to avoid the welfare state, by dividing power in such a way as to keep it in balance. The Supreme Court’s edict on Obamacare was one more nail in the coffin of the balance of power.
There are two types of people: those who lead and those who follow. The question: How do we break the welfare state addiction? Logically, we make it as painless as possible. This brings up the question of how the American people became addicted to welfare. Social Security is based on the current generation of income producers paying those who don’t produce an income. The government set the age. The first Americans to reach the magic age, after Social Security became law, paid very little to retire and receive a taxpayer financed income for life. My father paid for one year and retired at age sixty-five. He lived to age 94. He received many times what he contributed. No question about it, the American people were conned into the notion of letting the future pay. My father’s bonanza meant that those who followed had to make up the difference. The welfare state is a pyramid game. Currently, those who pay Social Security tax will pay more than they receive. Add the undeniable fact that America’s welfare state is bankrupting America morally, spiritually, and fiscally. Your government has painted itself into a corner. It doesn’t matter who you vote for. Your government is a basket case.
The welfare state begins with the leaders’ “duty” to solve the person’s problems, the idea that the leader knows best. Include in the leadership both secular and religious leaders. I’m a secular humanist, defined as one who promotes human values without specific allusion to religious values, or in my case, to secular values. I’m what is known as a free spirit.
Coincidentally, the term free spirit fits the Aquarian personality, the welfare state addict, the Piscean personality. We are moving away from the Piscean personality, toward the Aquarian personality.
When we are born, the heavens have a certain nomenclature. The nomenclator is the astrologer. In Matthew 6, “Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven; followed by, “No man can serve two masters;” followed by, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God,” when and where comes the kingdom of God?
“And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, ‘the kingdom of God cometh not with observation. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is in you” (Luke 17:20-21).
The cutting edge of science maintains that your mind is inextricably part of the mind or God, or what science now calls the consciousness of the universe. I’m Virgo with Aquarius rising. Astrologers say I’m potentially able to envision the future. H. G. Wells, famous for envisioning the future, was Virgo with Aquarius rising. Wells, an English intellectual, envisioned one-world socialism. He lived at a time when the British Commonwealth was in a fight to protect its possessions. Incidentally, one of England’s possessions was Kenya. Obama’s father hated British colonialism. He was a communist. Obama adores his father’s stand. My background is American independence; in fact, all the back to America’s beginning.
When I read the Constitution, with the thought of taking action myself to protect my God-given rights, I felt that voices of the past were speaking to me. At the time, my life was in ruins. I cut from the herd and went on my own. When things should have gone wrong, things went better. I envision future people looking within for their answers.

When I began my book of memoirs eleven years ago, the pieces of my life began to fall into place. I remain anti-religious and anti-government, but believe with all of my heart that Jesus is my savior and redeemer. The questions I answer in my book of memoirs, In Earth as It Is in Heaven 2012, are apropos. My book should be available in about three weeks.
