I've thought about this most of today and this is what I think we need to do for the upcoming elections.

1.  In your State check out the House or Representative and the Senators that voted on those bills an policies that you find offensive and not being what you support.

2.  Make your list of each and what bills they voted for that you consider as going against the wishes of yourself and our Constitution.

3.  Write a letter to the editor and feed them the information via you letter.  List the Congressmen what they voted for or against that was not good for our country.

4.  Post your list on Face Book, your blogs, on YouTube any other site where you can make the information available to those who follow you and for all to see.

5.  Get your friends to help you hand out fliers in your town or city to passer by's, walk your town and hand out, go to your church and other to hand out.

6.  If you have a small radio station in your town, like I do go ask the person who handles the talk show they have if you could get an interview to talk about this.

7.  You need to join http://obamaballotchallenge.com they will help you write a letter to your States Democratic Party and the Secretary of State filing a complaint that Obama has no right to be on your State Ballot.

8. Ask others who agree with keeping him off your State's ballot to send letters as well.

It seems that this fight to keep him off is going to come down to the States upholding our Constitution.  The District Court in Ca. ruled that it's not the District Court's responsibility to judge Obama's eligibility, it's the States.

Get your local Tea Parties to get involved in this.  This is what the Tea Party should be about not just re electing or electing people who lie to them, they need to let people know that they are willing to act locally not just attend huge gathering in D. C. and you State Capitals.  They are working your towns and cities getting the word out.

Now why do this?  So that the people who never know what these crooks are doing are made aware and made aware they shouldn't be voting for them again.

In watching c-span this morning, I was reminded why I divorced all political partys many years ago and why I vowed never to make any kind of political monetary contribution ever again, especially when there are more

worth while things I can contribute to, like the wounded warriors, etc.

Both Partys are playing politics with the current uproar of extending the payroll "(SOCIAL SECURITY)" tax, unemployment benifits, medikcaid payments et al as well as the 60 day time requirement for President Oboma to decide which interests to cater to-oil or environmtalist. What a deal, the life of this legislation is 2 months equivilent to 60 days. Oboma doesn't want to alienate either the unions who support the pipe line or the envirometalists wo oppose it. In other words the highest bidder wins my decision. Typical chicago politics like selling his senate senate to the highest bidder.  The democrats continue to attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of the opposition and to disguise their desire to continue to finance those who want to kill us by buying our energy needs from those who finance our ultimate destruction.

Meanwhile, the house is abandoning the senior citizens by allowing the misnomered "payroll tax reduction" to continously steal from the funding of the social security trust fund. If they want to give a 2% tax reduction, they should apply that decrease in the general tax rate of everyone earning less than 150,000 per year.  AND they should remove the earnings tax requirement for contributions to the social security trust fund,  AND they should relieve social security recipients with modest pensions from payng income tax on their social security benifits by raising the tax threshold of 30,000 of total income to 200,000 AND they should eliminate the foriegn tax credit for corporations which is how corporations like G E can make trillions of dollars in profits and not pay 1 cent of income tax to the united states, which one of Obomas top financial advisors, jeff Imelt, president of GE would not allow Oboma to approve of.

This post consists of a series of responses I posted to Jack Hunter's OPINION piece in the Daily Caller regarding Ron Paul's foreign policy. The piece is full of inaccuracies, fabrications, and paranoia. I countered Mr. Hunter on points of defense spending, and the attempt by the Ron Paul movement to redefine Conservatism into something that resembles anti-war Libertarianism.

First of all, the concept of limited government does not belong to Ron Paul. Conservative Republicans have always embraced the limitations placed on the government via Constitutional principles. The Ron Paul movement is deceptive and people need to pay attention to what is underneath those superficial layers of constitutionalism and smaller government and federalism. Ron Paul and his followers have a deep contempt for the United States Military. They call us "murderous," "conquerors," "terrorists," and "nation builders." Their defining belief is that it is our foreign "interventionism" in Middle Eastern countries that brought about the attacks of 9/11. Ron Paul himself has intimated that 9/11 was an inside job, and that the Bush Administration was "gleeful" that it occurred. Paul has accused Michele Bachmann of "hating Muslims." His refusal to consider the defense of Israel an important foreign policy matter smacks of Antisemitism. His followers accuse the United States of targeting Arabs, of murdering millions of civilians in unjust wars, and of an ineptness that makes the rest of the world hate us. Ron Paul also appeals to young, anti-war, legalize marijuana Occupy Wall Street types. The recent hysteria from his camp about the Defense Authorization Bill had him and his followers teaming up with the ACLU, Democrats in Congress, and citing the Huffington Post as a credible news source. It all looks suspiciously like an infiltration by the Left into the Conservative wing of American politics. Many Ron Paul supporters lack the basic Patriotism and love for country that defines Tea Party Conservatives. I have compiled comments from several Ron Paul supporters regarding our military actions overseas. They are truly shocking and can be read at http://reagangirl.com/?p=23633

Please refer to the following visual from the conservative Heritage Foundation to see that our defense spending in not "unlimited." http://www.heritage.org/budgetchartbook/defense-entitlement-spending. The reality that the total defense budget is only about 1/5 of the entire federal budget. Hardly unlimited. Mr. Hunter is not a reporter, but a hack who incites hysteria through his use of hyperbole and inflammatory rhetoric. Call it "isolationism," call it "non-interventionism," a pig with lipstick is still a pig. Ron Paul's foreign policies are naive, ill-informed, and extremely dangerous. You cannot simply ignore an ideology which represents an existential threat to Israel and the United States. Pulling out of foreign wars will not make Islamic Terrorists go away, it will invite more of them here. Mr. Hunter's statistics regarding the opinions of veterans are fallacious. But the Ron Paul movement has adopted strategies that used to be exclusive to the Left. Calling our Military "murderous," and "nation builders," lying about issues, fabricating information, and making the Ron Paul movement look as if it is larger than it is in actuality through a concerted and obsessive strategy of overwhelming polls and concentrating their numbers in places like Iowa. Watch out for this movement. It is deceptive and dangerous.

Ron Paul and his followers are trying to redefine Conservatism into something that resembles the anti-war, pro-marijuana protesters of the 60s and 70s. Ron Paul is a Libertarian who adopted the Republican label simply to gain traction in his campaign, so don't tell me he is a principled man. He holds fast to Libertarianism. Conservatism holds many Libertarian viewpoints such as a constitutionally limited government, Federalism, individual liberty, etc. But Conservatism is strengthened by the component of morality. We do not believe that government should legislate virtue at the national level, but we do believe that government, especially state and local government, has a role in protecting its citizens from the greater evils of the world. Conservatives believe that the government should protect the helpless, such as the unborn and the disabled. Conservatives believe that the law should exemplify virtue through placing limitations on harmful influences such as pornography and drugs. Libertarians tend to eschew the moral boundaries that Conservatives believe are essential to a healthy and free society. Ron Paul appeals to young anti-war, pro marijuana Occupy Wall Street types because they feel comfortable with an ideology which omits moral restraints. They have replaced traditional morality with their "anti-war" morality which defines any act of aggression (or self-defense for that matter) on the part of the United States as "immoral." It is time for thinking Conservatives to step back from the deceptive Ron Paul phenomenon and remember that it is reason, morality, patriotism, and a strong national defense that makes us a great nation.

Core Conservatives need to pay heed to the nature and purpose of the Ron Paul phenomenon. Their positions are often contrary to those principles and qualities we hold dear as Conservatives, especially the portrayal by some Ron Paul supporters of our Military as "murderous," "conquerors," and "terrorists."

To me it is insane that our government is breathing down Sheriff Joe's neck because he's doing his job.  The EPA, the ACLU, the Department of Education, all need to go.  The days of political correctness are past.  Speak now or run the risk of losing the right to speak and be heard.  What part of ILLEGAL does President Obama not get?  And who in the world does Eric Holder think he is?  The second amendment clearly gives us the right to bear arms. 

Since OWS started trashing NYC, there are those who have likened that movement to the Tea Party.  OWS doesn't hold a candle to the Tea Party.  They're a bunch of worthless do nothings sponsored by the very liberal left.  Tea Party members are solid backbone of the country types who are honest hardworking, moral, and who know how to show respect to our flag.  

There is something very wrong going on in our country and it started 50 years ago when the EPA came into being.  Since that time, we've been told what to do, when to do it, who to hire, who not to hire, what to say, what not to say to the point that I'm SICK. 

Since the beginning of time, weather has changed and moved in cycles.  There will always be minorities.  There will always be prejudice; it is the nature of man.  Everyone has an opinion.  The government can't change that.  They can only brainwash us if we allow them to do so. 

In the end, it is the differences we share that make us great as a country.  That is part of our uniqueness.   What we need to remember and really focus on is not the color of skin or ethnicity, but the fact that all AMERICANS, (whether black, brown, white, American Indians, Asians, Jews, Protestants, Italians, Germans, French, Mexican, Irish, etc)  need to stand together against tyranny and against those who would break our laws, and those who would like to take our FREEDOMS away.

Comprehensive Look At New Hampshire’s Supreme Court Eligibility Compaint!

“(Dec. 19, 2011) — Before the New Hampshire Supreme Court is a case that could shake the political world clear through the Washington Monument. Delving into Taitz v. Garner one sees a deck stacked against Obama in ways that are innovative and original from 2008 showing the Birther Movement has shape shifted into a much more intelligent force than it was in 2008, something Obama and co-conspiratorial Democrats of course were not hoping for when the Obama 2012 theme song was picked out, “I fought the law but the law won”.

Understanding the law has to some degree been left to the lawyers and judges so long that justice may have been left behind; there is no secret that in any case both sides indeed are given a chance to make their point of view hoping that justice will side their way.

While the body of evidence might be stacked to one side there are a host of elements and principles that also must be included in order to accommodate justice. “Standing” was a principle used for the most part against a U.S. Birther Movement in 2008 citing Citizens didn’t have standing to file suits favoring instead actual candidates in the Presidential Race (*9^th Circuit).

In 2008 Obama had the advantage of the surprise attack from which the Birther Movement could not form and organize fast enough to block. Deals had been struck with the Republican candidates based on a Democrat controlled U.S. Senate giving Sen. John McCain non-binding U.S. Sen. Res. 511 declaring him a ‘natural born citizen’ with two citizen parents even though he was born in the foreign nation of Panama.

Until Obama was declared the Democrat Nominee independent and write-in candidates couldn’t really file complaints because the issue within the Democrat Party was not “ripe”. In other words, then Sen. Hillary Clinton would have been the best example from within the Democrat party to take a stand against Obama’s eligibility. Now, Obama’s fixed Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was indeed a Co-Sponsor of McCain’s Res. 511. Not only was the valuable media ‘race card’ fixed (which raised its ugly head with Donald Trump in May of 2011), but so was Sen. Once Obama cleared the entire Democrat Party his lock was sealed because Republicans had just nominated McCain as their nominee. Anyone not challenging McCain’s Eligibility would or could be called a racist for challenging Obama’s eligibility, and no one knew it better than the 2008 Republican U.S. Senators.

Days prior to McCain being made the nominee McCain v. Judy was filed in the Nevada Federal District Court challenging McCain’s qualifications according to the precepts of Supreme Court Precedent case Minor v. Happersett that maintained without question ‘natural born citizens’ being those whom were born in the U.S. to Citizen Parents, and an Emergency Motion was made in that case against Obama before he was sworn in that featured the case being argued by esq. Phil Berg at the Supreme Court that was dismissed on ‘Standing’ failures.

Phil Berg was stuck and decidedly kept from including Cody Robert Judy in his argument to the U.S. Supreme Court, although Judy had filed Amicus Curiae to him, it was never docketed.

After 3 years, Donald Trump was used to flush the Birther Movement once and for all, uniquely positioned as a Republican who had never held office, with the majority of his contribution money going to Democrats. Trump was rewarded June 22, 2011, with an NBC whopping $130 million dollar contract for Apprentice following the April 27^th, 2011 release of Obama’s long form fabrication in spite of NBC’s *Lawrence O’Donnell’s exacerbated cries of Trump as a racist.

In an era where television salaries are being slashed, long-term contracts are disappearing, and where so-called “Reality TV” (scripted television shows that do not pay their participants, or pay very low fees) is replacing quality programming a contract like this is irrelevant and abusive to the whole entertainment industry. One need only consider the political roots of MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell, who host “The Last Word” to understand the “Racist” tag that was a shot over the bow.

From 1989 through 1992, O’Donnell served as Senior Advisor to Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan. In 1992, he was Chief of Staff to the Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works. From 1993 through 1995 he was the Chief of Staff of the Senate Finance Committee. He first began working with Sen. Moynihan as Director of Communications in the Senator’s 1988 re-election campaign.

Heading into the Birther Movement 2012 one will see things that didn’t exist in 2008 in the form of growth, evidence, charges, and organization and this is translating itself into support for comprehensive legal work and political maneuvering with Candidates, Lawyers, and a Citizen population, SuperPacs, and many Patriot Organizations galvanized on the common thread among 50 States; The United States Constitution, and specifically Article II, Sect. 1, Clause 5’s demanding qualifications for the President.

New Hampshire has prided itself in supporting the United States Constitution and being the first State Primary to set the pace as a small but significant force in politics. Business is anything but usual in the first post-colonial sovereign north eastern state with what looks to be the most comprehensive well written legal challenge, with Presidential Candidate Cody Robert Judy representing STANDING in running as a Democrat, to remove Obama off the Ballot in front of the New Hampshire’s Supreme Court with the Primary still a month away.

In layman’s terms, the New Hampshire Supreme Court acting in the highest Judicial Body of law for New Hampshire, subject only to the U.S. Supreme Court, will see evidence of Obama not being qualified for President as a Natural Born Citizen from a presidential candidate within his own party, supported by 10 current members of New Hampshire’s State Legislature, and a lawyer whose the most experienced constitutional eligibility lawyer in the United States: Orly Taitz.

In addition the Court will see evidence supporting the long form birth certificate being a forged document, along with collaborating evidence supporting its forgery from Obama’s misappropriated Social Security identification, his altered draft registration and recent tax records, as well as a stacked or gerrymandered political panel making up the N.H. Election Law Commission.

Support for this action has come from thousands of hours of volunteers and contributors from Patriots all across the United States and its twin action has already been filed in the Georgia Federal District Court. One of the advantages of New Hampshire’s action is it’s at the State Supreme Court Level already with Candidates who have been kept off the ballot by Democrat Operatives for Obama shamefully representing a very small tent in the previously heralded big tent of the Democrat Party.

Note: As we prepare for our upcoming 2012 Presidential Election, there is an issue that I’ve previously presented to you in the recent past that is continuing to heat up around our country, as evidenced by the above article and/or blog post, which I believe is even more important in size and scope because it deals with the question of whether or not our President is even eligible to hold the office of President and Commander-In-Chief of our Armed Forces. 

I, like many Americans across our country, believe that there is a preponderance of undisputable evidence being revealed on a daily basis by extremely reliable sources that may collectively prove that he in fact is ineligible to hold office, which would surely be the greatest fraud that has been perpetrated in American history. 

This issue literally keeps me up at night because, if true, I believe that it would literally spark civil unrest across our country and give the President, his puppet masters and minions the reason they've longed for, which is to put into place what I now strongly believe is their “end game” strategy of declaring ‘Martial Law” under the National Defense Authorization Act (S. 1867), which is expected to make its way out of Congress Wednesday night (12/21/2011) over to Obama’s desk by Thursday (12/22/2011). A bill which, in the words of Congressman Ron Paul, ”We have now institutionalized and codified martial law,” along with Laura W. Murphy, director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office, who recently stated in part that “the president should more carefully consider the consequences of allowing this bill to become law,” “If President Obama signs this bill, it will damage both his legacy and American’s reputation for upholding the rule of law. The last time Congress passed indefinite detention legislation was during the McCarthy era and President Truman had the courage to veto that bill. We hope that the president will consider the long view of history before codifying indefinite detention without charge or trial,” which I believe would literally tear down our “Constitution Of The United States Of America”, “Bill of Rights” and ultimately destroy what I consider to be the greatest country and/or Republic on earth.

Great News: Many Americans are starting to wake up-just hope and pray it’s not too late!

Many Americans across the country are starting to wake up to the fact that President Obama is constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of President, as substantiated by his newly released long-form Certificate of Live Birth, which shows that his father was in fact born in Kenya in 1936. At the time, Kenya was a British colony. Therefore Obama Senior was a British subject by birth (due to the fact that he was born within British-controlled territory). When President Obama was born in 1961, he acquired British nationality by descent, because his father was a British subject by birth. When Kenya gained its independence from Great Britain in 1963, President Obama became a citizen of the newly-formed nation.

Some may say, for crying out loud, Lloyd. You're as bad as Tebow. Must you always interject God and the Bible into everything? Well folks, it is just who I am.

Canaan was God's “Promised Land” to the Israelites. Upon their arrival, Moses sent twelve spies to check out the land. All twelve spies reported that the land was beautiful and awesome. Ten of the twelve spies fearfully said the land was possessed by giants which they could never defeat. Only two spies believed they could defeat the giants and claim the land which God had promised to them. Interestingly, God described the lack of faith by the ten spies not simply as negative, but evil.

Brother and sister tea party patriots, I believe Divine Providence inspired the Tea Party movement to restore America from it's path of cultural and moral rot. Thus, we have the power to take back America, which was founded on Biblical Principles, from the Progressives, Socialists, Communists, Marxists and Occupiers.

The “giants” in our scenario are an anti-America president Obama with a billion dollars to spend on his lie-filled reelection campaign and a sycophant liberal mainstream media openly committed to his reelection and goals.

Please do not misinterpret what I am about to say. I am not endorsing Michele Bachmann or any candidate for that matter. But I heard a conservative say, “No, we absolutely can not select Bachmann because she is unelectable!” I ask, Why is Bachmann unelectable? What has Bachmann said or done that is so crazy or stupid? What did I miss?

In reality, because the “giants”-- i.e., the mainstream media – have labeled Bachmann “extreme”, conservatives fearful of Obama being reelected have disqualified Bachmann.

The “giants” tag team of the Obama administration and the liberal media who have successfully taken Cain out of the race, will repeat this process, destroying each of our candidates until the last candidate standing is the moderate they really want to run against Obama – namely, Mitt Romney. They know that Romney is a clone of John McCain whom Obama defeated four years ago.

What is my point, you ask? My point is I am sooooooooo sick of our side forever playing on defense, allowing the left to control the language, empowering them to set the rules of engagement and making decisions based on fear.

We conservatives are the good guys! Yes, I believe that God is on our side. Conservatism is unarguably best for all Americans. The liberal agenda is evil.

Here is an example of allowing the left to call the shots. During a Republican Presidential Debate on ABC, the candidates were basically asked if they knew what it is like to be poor. Each candidate began defending his or her success. The liberal moderator's question, which would never be asked of a democrat, was rooted in the stereotype that Republicans are rich white racists. Also, hidden in their question was “class envy” which is the main strategy of Obama's reelection campaign. Meanwhile, mega-rich Democrats such as the late Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have never been asked to defend their wealth.

When did poverty because a virtue and crucial to being a good president?

In response to the liberal moderator's when-did-you-evil-republicans-stop-beating-your-wife style question, I would have loved for one of our candidates to have refused to play their game; to refuse to apologize or defend his or her financial success.

Speaking of controlling the language, a conservative pollster suggested that we refrain from using the term, “Capitalism” because it turns-off the Occupiers. This is yet another example of “allowing the inmates to run the asylum” – that is, operating out of fear. Capitalism is not a dirty word. Why should we surrender to the Occupiers allowing them to make it dirty?

God has designed life in such a way that success requires risk and backbone. In life, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Risk-takers experience what Jim McKay of ABC Sports described as, “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!” By the way, liberals believe that God's system is unfair and seek to legislate equal outcomes in the name of fairness.

In our quest to defeat Obama, due to his horrific record, we hold the winning hand. Failure would be the consequence of fear. It will require backbone to defeat our “giants” (Obama and his media).

We must not allow Obama and company to select our presidential candidate. This requires that we cease allowing them to call the shots. Conservatives must boldly go and stay on offense in our fight to defeat the “giants”, who currently occupy our great land, in 2012.

Have you seen the panic? There have been a lot of erroneous stories of late that exaggerate, not the danger that an over-sized government and its manic bureaucratic wing present to us, but the actual situation we are in as Americans at this very moment. No need to panic! Merry Christmas, we are still a free people. 

Like Ronald Reagan I am an optimist. I believe in Americans, and I believe that there will always be a free people in this country. Those people comprise the thread by which our Constitution now hangs. It is a strong thread, and though it seems tenuous at times, our Constitution gleams with a bright spark of Divine inspiration. Our founding documents, being inspired by the Mind of God, are more clever than the enemies of the republic. Despite the pounding and shredding of many of the basic tenets of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, they continue to protect us. We still own our most basic possessions; our lives, our property, our voices, our choices, and the overriding right to defend them all. 

The signers of the Declaration of Independence all pledged their lives to the cause of liberty. When they signed the Declaration they may have thought they were signing their death warrants. They pledged their blood, and likely expected to shed it. But not one of those men lost their lives as a direct result of battle with the British. Some were captured and tortured for their roles as signatories to the Declaration of Independence. Nine of them lost sons to the Revolutionary War. Some had their homes and treasures ransacked. But they were not outright murdered by their adversaries. Their honor has only been magnified through time. And their treasures, if lost, were replaced with that sufficient for their needs. We too are protected as the the necessity for a Revolution of the 21st Century grows ever greater.

Some 20,000 Americans gave their lives to fight the British tyranny. Those lives sacrificed literally changed the world forever. I do not minimize the threats from despots and tyrants who now threaten our country from abroad, and from Communists and Progressives within our own social institutions and government, but we will not give up our freedom. It is impossible to quench the flame of human liberty once it is lit. We will battle with our might to defend it, but it will never be snuffed out.

As Christmas Day nears, I ponder my faith in God, and in His holy Son, Jesus Christ. My heart brims with gratitude to God that He gave me the privilege of being born an American. I am also thankful, though sometimes burdened, by the responsibility He gave me to fight to keep this country free and prosperous. As Christ freed His people from the chains of death and damnation, so too will He give us the strength to defy the chains of slavery to Big Government, and evil ideologies who hate us, and covet, and want to destroy, the blessings we enjoy as Americans. Living in Western Colorado, near the Colorado river, nestled between the mountain's majesty and the splendor of the high desert, I know that this is God's country. I also know that America is God's nation.

Let us reflect upon these things. The moments of panic steal our personal peace, but they also damage our credibility. As the Star of Bethlehem was a guiding light to the wise men who sought the Son of God, so let us be a ray of hope and optimism to those who are looking for a happier future in America. Hope burns bright, man will not easily become enslaved. We are still free to worship. We are still free to love our neighbors. Merry Christmas, we are still a free people.

“America’s toughest sheriff is living up to his nickname in a battle against the Department of Justice over its report accusing the Maricopa County, Ariz.,  Sheriff’s Department of a pattern of civil rights violations involving Latinos.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he intends to fight allegations in the 22-page Justice Department report that claims his department has violated the civil rights of Latinos in enforcing immigration laws in Arizona, reports World Net Daily (WND).

President Barack Obama “has just put a welcome sign on the United States border with Mexico,” Arpaio told WND, referring to the president’s comment in September during an inteview with a group of Latino reporter that the sheriff and his department should not be viewed as a model for other law enforcement departments in how to enforce federal immigration laws.

Obama further told the journalists that the country has 50 states with 50 different immigration laws.

The DOJ report concludes that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department under Arpaio’s watch has engaged in the racial profiling of Latinos, made unlawful stops, and detained suspects in violation of federal civil rights laws.

The group Citizens for a Better Arizona is urging the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to pass a resolution calling for Arpaio to step down.

That same group spearheaded to recall effort against now former Arizona State Senate President Russell Pearce, who was part of the Legislature that crafted the state’s new immigration law, which has been tied up in the courts.

Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court said that it will review the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9^th Circuit in San Francisco that mostly shut down the new law.

Arpaio says that, although he is willing to engage in talks with federal officials over the report, he will not let them keep tabs on his office, according to a report in the Arizona Republic.

The sheriff describes incidents of racial profiling and discrimination outlined in the report as being “a couple of bumps,” reports the Republic.

“We had some isolated incidents and they make it look like it’s systemic. We thought we had this thing resolved. We gave them more files. Then we wake up in the morning and they do a press conference,” Arpaio said.

He said he will cooperate with the Justice Department, although adding, “One thing I am not going to agree to is to be controlled by some federal monitor or something. I’m the elected sheriff here and I report to the 4 million voters here in the county.”

In a letter to Maricopa County, Justice Department officials have given Arpaio until Jan. 4 to decide whether to cooperate in reforming his department. The letter also gave Arpaio 60 days for an agreement on a reform plan.

The deadlines riled Arpaio, who pointed out that the DOJ took three years to look at his department and then came out with a 22-page report, but is giving him just a short amount of time to respond.

The Justice Department says that, if Arpaio does not comply, it will seek a court order to force reform and could revoke hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding, according to the Republic.

On the same day the report came out, the county received a letter from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton that said Morton had terminated the sheriff’s participation in a federal immigration program.

ICE is withdrawing immigration detainees from jails in Maricopa County, will not respond to sheriff’s department traffic stops and other minor arrests that involve immigrants, and has cut off the department’s access to federal technology which is used to verify immigration status.

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Mongomery said Friday those actions have “an immediate and harmful effect on carrying out my duties.”

Montgomery says the moves also would be a threat to public safety.

“Im asking the president to direct the Department of Homeland Security to reinstate this program now,” Montgomery said.

ICE will continue to be informed of immigrant arrests but will make its own determination who it will detain and where, based on its own law enforcement priorities, the Republic reports.

The DOJ report came out just one day after the first anniversary of the death of Border Patrol officer Brian Terry in Arizona.

The shootout that resulted in his death involved weapons thath had gone astray from the Justice Department’s controversial Fast and Furious gunwalking program.

The program was designed to trace weapons over the United States border to drug cartels in Mexico.”
