health (33)

By Oscar Y. Harward

It was June, 2014 at the Virginia State Convention when  conservatives ousted House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor from his US House GOP leadership.  There was a message delivered; however, most Capitol Hill leaders failed to catch on and continued to ignore it.

At that time, and even today, moderate GOP Washington leaders continue to reject ‘We the People’ on critical issues including stopping ‘illegal’ immigration, repeal ObamaCare, stop the ‘out-of-control’ deficit spending, and others.

Social Security recipients continue with near -$0- inflationary incomes for seniors’ while Capitol Hill legislators collect inflated incomes.

Republican Party Senators and Representatives make campaign promises to get their votes; then forget their promises after the elections.

‘We the People’ are becoming angry at those on Capitol Hill who are ignoring or forgetting promises as committed.

Capitol Hill Republican leaders are operating on the American Health Care Act Health Care, just like Democrat leaders did in year 2009 on ObamaCare, as they fail to provide details on the AHCA legislation before the votes are casts.

After faithful campaign promises to repeal ObamaCare, an overwhelming majority of Capitol Hill Republican legislators continue to follow Capitol Hill GOP leaders. These GOP leaders refuse to permit a vote on a cleaner and better AHCA legislation plan as offered by conservatives.

Capitol Hill GOP leaders continue to reject ‘We the Peoples’ ideas while supporting their own personal political agendas.

Would Rep. Paul Ryan set-up President Trump on the American Health Care Act?  Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX-1) says the proposed legislation is a lie.  “I think the President’s being set up for failure,” added Gohmert, “and I know people are anxious just to get this bill passed.”

Gohmert told TheBlaze., “I would love it if Democrats recognized that Obamacare was a problem and it caused them the loss of a majority and it caused them losses in statehouses all over the place. I would love for them to recognize that so we could repeal it in a bipartisan manner.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH-4) says, “Our job is to … do what we told the American people we were going to do when they gave us the privilege to serve, and this bill doesn’t do that. This bill doesn’t repeal Obamacare, and that fundamentally is why we’re opposed to it. And unless it changes I do not see the votes there to pass this legislation.

Former Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) of the Heritage Foundation says, “As a broad spectrum of conservative policy experts have been explaining for weeks, the House health care bill was a perfect marriage of bad policy, bad process and bad politics. Since the day it was introduced, this was presented as a false choice of this bill or nothing, and that strategy was proven very wrong.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) are conservatives, among others, who are offering alternate Health Care plans.

Sen. Ted Cruz offers new legislation to repeal ObamaCare and pass a ‘TRUE’ conservative version of the ‘Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’ for ‘We the People’.

Another idea is to merge the Veterans Administration Health Care into the Medicare Health Care system.  This would provide immediate, professional, and local services to our earned veterans.

Republicans must consider electing new fresh and honorable conservatives and their ideas representing ‘We the People’ and America in 2018.  2018 Primary Elections may be the year when Republicans clamp down on candidates who make promises; only in returning to Washington and ‘continue as the usual’.

It is imperative for Capitol Hill Republicans to become resolute in repealing ObamaCare and starting over with a new Health Care plan; perhaps, replace our Health Care System similar to the former Medicare and Medicaid Health Care system in protecting our citizens.

Capitol Hill majority leaders must invite conservatives in showing respect to ‘We the People’; who symbolize the conduit of the Republican Party.

4064276155?profile=originalThe Affordable Care Act or ObamaCare will go down in history as one of the most poorly designed and miserably failed U.S. social policies ever created. It was passed entirely and unconstitutionally by Democrats by a continuing resolution. Like Social Security it was designed to buy the votes of a poor, ill-informed constituency.  Democrats robbed over half a trillion dollars from Medicaid to finance their sponsors in the insurance industry while expanding the number of employees to run their newly created bureaucracy.  Americans were shamed by Obama and his leftist handlers by spewing data from the one world Euro socialists at W.H.O., rating the U.S. Healthcare System 37th in the world.  Unfortunately they left out the fact that we were also rated just two steps above Cuba with France, Greece, Italy and other collapsing socialist countries rated in the top ten. Democrats and their media lapdogs were telling Americans in 2009 that U.S. healthcare was the worst in the world while liberal Economists, leftist politicians, insurers and academics were screaming for nanny state government control of U.S. health care.  Obama told us that 50 million Americans were suffering because they did not have health insurance.  What he forgot to tell us was that 8 million of those sampled were not even U.S. citizens. He also forgot to mention that another 20 million of those interviewed had incomes greater than $50,000 per year and could afford to pay for insurance. Also, another 4 million Americans who did not have health insurance were either legally disabled or 65 years old or greater and qualified for Medicare or Medicaid.  Do the math and you will find that there were actually only 18 million Americans who either could not afford Health Insurance or for some other reason chose not to purchase it in 2009.

4064276176?profile=originalThe 2011 Annual Social and Economic Supplement from the census said that 4 million non-American citizens had received government funded healthcare. Yes, with three quarters of them on Medicaid. According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform the federal government spent almost $6 billion on medical care for illegal aliens in 2011. If you read a little further you will find that the states by themselves spent over $10.8 billion on healthcare for illegal aliens during that same time.  A total of $16.8 billion was spent on healthcare for non-Americans. So the federal government and states paid the equivalent of $1732 annually per illegal alien in medical costs.

According to the government’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services report National Health Expenditures, by Sponsor: 2009, our federal, state and local governments spent $1.08 trillion on healthcare and that does not include the $1.4 trillion dollars spent by private businesses and households.  So let’s say that approximately that $2.5 trillion was spent by government and the private sector on Healthcare for Americans in 2009. Divide that number by 305 million Americans at that time and you have almost $8200 per American spent annually on healthcare in the U.S. And that does not even include the $843 billion from donors and grants given to Hospital Charities that year according to the Internal Revenue.

Am I missing something? Where is all this money going?  The facts are that the U.S. has one of the greatest health care systems in the world. According to the NCPA (National Center for Policy Analysis) there are ten reasons why Healthcare in the U.S. is the best in the world.

4064276254?profile=originalFact No. 1:  Americans have better survival rates than Europeans for common cancers.  Breast cancer mortality is 52 percent higher in Germany than in the United States, and 88 percent higher in the United Kingdom.  Prostate cancer mortality is 604 percent higher in the U.K. and 457 percent higher in Norway.  The mortality rate for colorectal cancer among British men and women is about 40 percent higher.

Fact No. 2:  Americans have lower cancer mortality rates than Canadians.  Breast cancer mortality is 9 percent higher, prostate cancer is 184 percent higher and colon cancer mortality among men is about 10 percent higher than in the United States.

Fact No. 3:  Americans have better access to treatment for chronic diseases than patients in other developed countries. Some 56 percent of Americans who could benefit are taking statins, which reduce cholesterol and protect against heart disease.  By comparison, of those patients who could benefit from these drugs, only 36 percent of the Dutch, 29 percent of the Swiss, 26 percent of Germans, 23 percent of Britons and 17 percent of Italians receive them.

Fact No. 4:  Americans have better access to preventive cancer screening than Canadians.  Take the proportion of the appropriate-age population groups who have received recommended tests for breast, cervical, prostate and colon cancer:

•Nine of 10 middle-aged American women (89 percent) have had a mammogram, compared to less than three-fourths of Canadians (72 percent).

•Nearly all American women (96 percent) have had a pap smear, compared to less than 90 percent of Canadians.

•More than half of American men (54 percent) have had a PSA test, compared to less than 1 in 6 Canadians (16 percent).

•Nearly one-third of Americans (30 percent) have had a colonoscopy, compared with less than 1 in 20 Canadians (5 percent).

Fact No. 5:  Lower income Americans are in better health than comparable Canadians.  Twice as many American seniors with below-median incomes self-report "excellent" health compared to Canadian seniors (11.7 percent versus 5.8 percent).  Conversely, white Canadian young adults with below-median incomes are 20 percent more likely than lower income Americans to describe their health as "fair or poor."

Fact No. 6:  Americans spend less time waiting for care than patients in Canada and the U.K.  Canadian and British patients wait about twice as long - sometimes more than a year - to see a specialist, to have elective surgery like hip replacements or to get radiation treatment for cancer. All told, 827,429 people are waiting for some type of procedure in Canada. In England, nearly 1.8 million people are waiting for a hospital admission or outpatient treatment.

Fact No. 7:  People in countries with more government control of health care are highly dissatisfied and believe reform is needed.   More than 70 percent of German, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and British adults say their health system needs either "fundamental change" or "complete rebuilding."

Fact No. 8:  Americans are more satisfied with the care they receive than Canadians.  When asked about their own health care instead of the "health care system," more than half of Americans (51.3 percent) are very satisfied with their health care services, compared to only 41.5 percent of Canadians; a lower proportion of Americans are dissatisfied (6.8 percent) than Canadians (8.5 percent).

Fact No. 9:  Americans have much better access to important new technologies like medical imaging than patients in Canada or the U.K.  Maligned as a waste by economists and policymakers naïve to actual medical practice, an overwhelming majority of leading American physicians identified computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the most important medical innovations for improving patient care during the previous decade. The United States has 34 CT scanners per million Americans, compared to 12 in Canada and eight in Britain.  The United States has nearly 27 MRI machines per million compared to about 6 per million in Canada and Britain.

Fact No. 10:  Americans are responsible for the vast majority of all health care innovations. The top five U.S. hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single developed country. Since the mid-1970s, the Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology has gone to American residents more often than recipients from all other countries combined.

Let’s face it the GOP now has a chance to make things right. They need to take the time to make health insurance more affordable to all Americans without excessive government intervention and the reduction of quality and accessibility to services. It’s time to allow health insurance companies to compete across state lines while allowing Doctors to do their jobs more effectively without the worry of malpractice lawsuits and high cost premiums.  It’s time to allow the pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies to bring their products to market more rapidly and at less cost.  Only then will we all be able to say truly that access to the best Healthcare in the world is a right guaranteed to all Americans.

This is what veterans need now. This is how you can help us. We need a healthcare account funded by the VA for veterans that the veteran could buy non-VA healthcare with. This is how we are going to make that happen: with the following letter. Tell people to join us here, get their copy of the following and send it to their congressmen and senators. The best thing you can do is actual paper, envelope and stamp. If you must, e-mail is better than nothing at all.

You can find your congressmen easily at:

And your senator at:

Dear (Representative/Senator) (Name),

My name is (your name) and I live in district (your district). I am writing to express my concerns about the VA healthcare system.

As you know our nation is losing twenty-two (22) veterans everyday to suicide. We are losing untold hundreds due to incompetence of the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Much has been said about this nationally. Congress seemed to act quickly with the Veteran’s choice card issued under the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act. However, it is anything but a choice. Veterans are now finding out they cannot choose a doctor; they have little choice as to when their appointment is to be. Veterans are not being paid for mileage as is required by law. Many of the appointments are many miles beyond the absurd distances they are required to drive already to get care. An increasing number of vets are not getting any care under this new system because there are no doctors “signed up” or “in the system”. Vets are still waiting because the VA still has to first diagnose a “need” then try for month to fill the appointment. Moreover, to add insult to what is great injury, veterans are having to pay for the appointments as the VA is delaying payment to the provider, and the vet is made responsible for the VA’s nonpayment. Veterans are finding out there are far too many hoops to jump through for this new program to be in anyway effective. But then that was the point wasn't it? The Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act was a political ploy to make the American people think our leadership cares for America’s veterans. It is clear you do not. The VA is spending millions of healthcare dollars on advertising and website development to convince the American people they care about vets. It is clear you do not. This letter is not to tell you how I want you to vote or act as my elected representative. It is a demand. I am demanding you, this day, draft legislation to give American veterans a healthcare account that they may buy their own health care insurance with. The VA hospital system is out of date, out of touch and out of control. It would take hundreds of years to fix the VA and many thousands of American veterans will die waiting for you to fulfill the commitment we as a nation agreed to. It cost the United States approximately $750-$900 to cover a veteran under the current VA hospital system. Those numbers are most likely much higher. Create legislation that will put this money into an account, much like the VA education funds, and let vets buy their own healthcare. Place no restrictions on it save that they can only spend the funds on health insurance, i.e. HMOs or PPOs. Also allow insurance companies to cover and entire family if they can as a way to be competitive. Many families do not pay as much to cover all of their members as the VA spends to cover just one vet. Let them have the whole $750-$900. The current chain of VA hospitals can bid for these funds like any other healthcare provider. After all if VA healthcare is so much better than civilian health care as they say, then vets will overwhelmingly choose the VA hospital system. Give them real choice; give them real healthcare, now!

A cause for immedate removal from office

I discovered a new report from the World Health Organization (WHO) this morning that destroys Mr. Obama"s and Dr. Frieden's arguments that Ebola is not such a concern...

This report clearly states (quoted):

"Incubation period

The period of 42 days, with active case-finding in place, is twice the maximum incubation period for Ebola virus disease and is considered by WHO as sufficient to generate confidence in a declaration that an Ebola outbreak has ended.

Recent studies conducted in West Africa have demonstrated that 95% of confirmed cases have an incubation period in the range of 1 to 21 days; 98% have an incubation period that falls within the 1 to 42 day interval. WHO is therefore confident that detection of no new cases, with active surveillance in place, throughout this 42-day period means that an Ebola outbreak is indeed over.

The announcement that the outbreaks are over, in line with the dates fixed by the subcommittee on surveillance, epidemiology, and laboratory testing, is made by the governments of the affected countries in close collaboration with WHO and its international partners.

Official announcements for the 2 countries will be made on the WHO website."

Please note, this report tells us that in 3% of those infected with the Ebola virus - there is a 42 day incubation period, not a 21 day incubation period - and that waiting 42 days to clear a person as not infected is reasonable and secure.

Our CDC is releasing people long before 42 days have expired - placing the entire Nation, ourselves, our Children, our Families at risk of lethal infection - on what?

A fantasy it won't happen here?

Seeing as WHO is the organization who has been dealing with Ebola for decades - isn't it reasonable to believe they might know more about this than Mr Obama or the CDC?

I have written my own elected and the media - I strongly encourage those reading this post to contact your own.

Mr. Obama and his entire regime must be removed immediately - not tomorrow. There is NO possible argument he or any of his administration can make that will mitigate this lie. It is patently unbelievable they would not have already known the true incubation period of this disease.

Mr. Obama is taking another of his "risks" - only this time he is risking the lives of Americans... millions of them.

This goes far beyond charges of simple "treason"...

My friends, what we see here is a real failure. I'm not talking about the FAIL videos that we see on the Internet, I'm talking about a failure that has a palpable and negative affect on people. I have served our country, but I am not a hero. The heroes are those who are suffering needlessly while waiting on a system that needs to be dramatically improved. The heroes are those who have put their lives on the line for your freedoms, it doesn't matter what conflict they were in, the fact is they were willing to sacrifice so that you can maintain your freedoms.
It is time that we stopped… We simply need to bring common sense and decency back into America. How much money are we sending to other countries or how much money are we giving to special interest groups? How much money are we literally throwing away on things like multi-million-dollar websites that are complete and utter failures of the most embarrassing kind? How much money will we allow (it is you and I, my fellow Americans, who decide what the government can and cannot do by way of those whom we elect) our government to throw away on things that DO NOT help our country in any way, fashion, shape or form?
I have heard too many times some politician, during a campaign, making promises that we will not have any more homeless veterans or that the veteran healthcare system will be fixed or, or, or,… just sickening as we see that those promises go unfulfilled.
This particular issue hits home for me rather dramatically as I will very soon be reliant upon that very same Veterans Administration for my personal healthcare needs. Please understand that I think the vast majority of those who work for the VA are, themselves, patriots who are trying to do the very best they can for the heroes of this great nation. But without proper management even the best intentions will have caustic and devastating effects - those effects are something that you and I are party to. I am placing the responsibility, inasmuch as I am able to, upon you and I as we are the ones who have voted (or have chosen not to vote) for the people that currently hold the highest offices in our country.
The time for half measures and staying home because you don't think voting will do any good, or you don't like something about the people that are running, or using some other excuse for not voting, is over! It is time to step up, it is time to bring the responsibility for this country back upon ourselves. We need to take care of our citizenry. We need to give a hand – up to those who need it and we need to ensure that proper care is given to those who have fought for this country.

DO WE HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART?
DO WE HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART?

AMA AND OTHERS CAUTIONS “RETAIL CLNICS; BIG BAD WOLF!”

Let’s start with some of the arguments these groups put forward as reasons for concern in using a Retail Clinic!

  • Ø Do not have access to all chart records.
  • Ø Causes Fragmentation of care by adding another provider.
  • Ø Staffed often by Physician Assistances or Nurse Practitioner
  • Ø No patient follow up care.
  • Ø Chronically ill are more complicated than clinics usually see.  (Note it doesn’t say can’t handle)
  • Ø Question if have patient’s best interests at heart!

I looked in detail at five articles about these warnings.  The first covers the period around 2007.  Titled AMA Goes After Walmart Style Retail Clinics, it warns of the same concerns.  “Our primary focus is patient safety and patient care, and the retail clinics have a different mission of selling products and prescriptions,” said Dr. Rodney Osborn.  The AMA stance at that time was to lobby for increases regulations of these Retail Clinics.  Typically doctors often site regulations and dealing with insurance as an over regulated problem.

The other articles cover and aim at those clinics owned by CVS, Walgreen’s, Target and other groups. On Feb. 23, 2014 (my 52 birthday updated a statement disapproving of the Retail Clinics.  Again the list above covers their reasons for concern.

An article written in Aug. of 2012 shows these statistics.

  • Ø Total visits go from 1.5 million (2007) to 6 million (2009)
  • Ø The same study notes that there are 557 million visits to Doctors and 177 to ER’s
  • Ø One significant change in demographics was that those over 65 were at 7.5% (2000 to 2006) and at 14.7 (2007 to 2009).
  • Ø About 40% of the visits from 2007 to 2009 were for immunizations.

I now have a few questions and statements I think need to be considered.

  • Ø How often can the people that visited a Retail Clinic did so because of lack of access to an appointment needed now?
  • Ø How many ER’s have access to a patient’s health record or chart?
  • Ø How many Pediatricians really know a patient and remember that child’s chart when called after hours?
  • Ø How many Nurse Practitioners or PA’s are employed by Pediatricians or Doctors?
  • Ø Is it really fair to say no access to follow up care?  I say this because many say to follow up with your family practitioner or come back to them if they do not have one!
  • Ø If it is still true that most(almost half, 40%) go for immunizations, is this really a big issue?
  • Ø What study said this are that?  Compare it to what is actually going on.
  • Ø Should Pharmacists really be giving vaccinations when they are bogged down just filling prescriptions?
  • Ø How many groups are going to have a formal relationship with your Pediatrician?
  • Ø Is some of the disjoint and lack of communication the fault of the AMA for going after the Retail Clinics instead of really working with these groups to shore up the holes? Or, is this just about the bottom line?
  • Ø How many people complain about not enough time with their doctor?

I would think again about what the AMA and AAP says about these clinics.  I would think also about getting prescriptions where pharmacists are doing a lot of vaccinations.  I am a pharmacist and will get plenty of feedback for this I am sure.

The bottom line is go to places that you feel comfortable.  I can personally vouch for a Nurse Practitioner owned clinic.   Excellent care is what my husband (also a pharmacist), my son and I get when we go there.  This does not stop me from having a family practice physician.  I have gone to this man since 1987 and will not go elsewhere  besides that NP owned clinic in Yukon, OK.  They do not compete but compliment each other.

Below are the 5 articles used to write this essay; along with my personal knowledge and opinion.

Disability doesn't have to be debilitating.   Disability only means finding a different approach or way around life's curves.   One must find a way to get to the end of the road by hopping, using a cane, wheelchair or being carried by God.

How many people without arms have learned to drive, paint, write or other with their feet?  Technolgy has made it

easier for us now more than ever before in history.  What is stopping you from going forward?  What is stopping you from helping

your son, daughter, grandaughter, student, or patient?  Do you make excuses for them?  Do you let the stagnate?  High

expectations will help them reach their full potential.

My husband and I have gone head to head on these questions over and over.  I tend to be the pusher and my

husband the "Disney Dad."  That is all well and good if you have a child that can reach his full potential through learning

from others.  A special needs child or differently abled child needs even sterner goals and directions in my opinon.

My son is an only child.  There are no close relatives that can monitor his progress or look in on him once his parents are gone.  He will be on his

own once my husband and I die.  My son has shown me over and over he is capable. Go and get a copy of Wanda

Draper's book, "YOUR CHILD IS SMARTER THAN YOU THINK!"  She is an internationally know Child Development

Specialist.

Expectations are what you will get from your children.  My son can wash his clothes, vacuum, unload the

diswasher, or baically any household chore.  When it comes to mowing the yard or other chore that deals with a male

oriented task ( my husband interfered on me showing him); my son, Tanner, is at a lose as how to proceed.

Do you know why my son can do the things I mentioned above?  I showed him how to do them.  You can do this too.

Now I will insert the story of an 85 year old premie child that wasn't supposed to be according to her doctor's when

she was born and through a few life events.  My mother, Dorothy Mallo, was born early before the fullterm of a

pregnancy.  One way to give you an idea of how small she was is to tell you they used my grandfather's hankerchiefs for

diapers because nothing else seemed to fit.  Dorothy was born with a club foot and the growth in one leg had to be

stopped because one leg had stopped growing.

Dorothy had many surgeies at the Shriner's Hospital's.  This meant spending a year away from home.  Dorothy

often had to walk to school on crutches.  Did it ever occur to her or her family she was disabled and completely debilitated?

Apparently not!

Dorothy went on to graduate from high school and then on to Secretary College (which now I understand would be

the equivalent of an Associates Degree).  Dorothy continued to work, marry, have four children and do many things

that any normal person did.

How come these issues didn't beat her down?  What did Dorothy do that many others would not?  What is the

formula for keeping your disabilites from making you debilitated?

Could it be attitude?  Your family support system?  I feel these are part of the answer.  I also know it has to do

with the times.  I think society makes more excuses for people with disabilites and has lowered expectations.  They give

the lowest of jobs to these kids on Individual Educational Plans sometiimes; and on Employee Plans with Voccational Rehab plans.

Remember Dorothy the next time you let your disability hold you back.  My mom has never let her disabilities stop

her from doing anything she wanted to do in life.  I hold her up as an example to many.

This Blog Post will be short and to the point. I will basically give a quick summary of each resources and how it is available. The biggest share are available in a PDF on the net. I can explain the content and list the PDF name exactly. I think the names are exact but if not they are close enough for you to find them in order to obtain the resource yourself. I cannot by law copy them and give them to you. If I could I would copy them here and make them easily for you to copy The first PDF is titled “The Future of Children with Disabilities,” from http://www.futureofchildren.org. It is volume 22 Number 2 Spring 2012. It contains a number of articles within the PDF; ranging from and introduction on disabilities and the future to emerging technologies. My next pick to place in this mix is on self advocacy and determination. There is the National Gateway sight and resources; twitter handle @gatewaytosd, facbook is gatewaytosd and Utube GagewaytoSD. I can’t speak with certainty about Utube having videos on self advocacy and determination. However, I am pretty certain that Gateway has videos about this topic. The PDF title to look for on the net is 2011_issues1_selfd_selfa.pdf. It deals with advocacy and determination on many levels. The publishers are National Training Institute on Self Determination. As I stated before there are many other resources on the National Gateway and Self Determination site at http://www.ngsd.org/. Here I want to point out the great tool graphic organizers are for teaching to those that lean to the visual learning mode. They can be a great tool for many children tool. Look at these terms and places listed below or put in a search engine to reveal many free resources for graphic organizers. Many can make there own with the word processing software on their computer. The part that deals with accounting or graphic to make tables. There are those that say shapes that can be used to make your own graphic organizer to tailor your mapping of content. But see below for more; Freeology is a place where you can get free graphic organizers Rubistar or putt graphic organizers in any search engine to reveal more sources of free organizers. You may have sign up for a free newsletter but I consider that a small price to pay. It is up to you. I want to bring a term to you called Project Based Learning. See this site for a free article http://www.edutopia.org./user185983.edia/profile. Students basically are applying learning to real world applications or doing case studies. I think this is great for all students but specifically for students with disabilities. Grants from Youth Service America and Service Learning are available for teachers to apply as well as other nonprofits and areas. The next to PDF’s are a result of a ten year study by The National Autism Center’s National Standard’s Report. They deal with best practices in education in healthcare. The one on healthcare can be download by a family touched by autism I believe. The one one on education is free to teachers, educators and maybe homeschoolers. At least this is my understanding. Please read all the declarations and instructions on all the sites and follow the rules. And below are the exact PDF names of the reports: NAC EdManuel1_Finalpdf NAC NSPReport_FINPDF I know these will be of great to use to families, teachers, providers and others working with or associated with autism and special needs.

Anger, I am told is right below the surface; with lots of it.

Not, that I am wrong but a bit, “Way over the top!” By a long time doctor and sister.

Ground into my gut; while stuck in my throat.

Everyone’s got a say; a right to get my goat.

Right wasn’t how I was treated!.  Heck missed fractures, screwed with my professional life and all while I was either over or under medicated most of the time.

Fracked up I was. Locked into the extremely bad Doc’s  care ‘n’ of OKC Trauma Center; is my opinion.

Least I have a right to my opinion. Not fair these got to others to choose where my medicare was given to me.

Arranged were long IQ tests by yet a stupid intern; because I made a super lab test rat.

Really had no caring for sharing how to do it right! What it was all about!  Or, look up the drugs that given would surely drive all IQ’s to the gutter from any cluster!

Erase their mistakes or state them right; they were mistaken.

Sir, No sir! Not fair for me.  Never cared for my career.

Supposedly, the public I would treat.

After all it is their duty to the public; asses forgot I was their patient and public too.

Fair is what I care.  Right I understand. Take care of the public with my interests at hand!

Tell the world about my secrets.

All the need to know is judgement by another pharmacist.

Ecclesiastics tells of a time for everything.

Right will get you when God demands. Saying this to you and myself.

Mild brain injury! Sure if screwed with anger, that is mild.

Traumatic to me doesn’t describe the personal revelations of blank I must come to terms with and face.

Brain, I know I have the ability to achieve; heck work is the one place I still excel.

Injury, Imangine how you would feel actually having injuries; feeling crazy, turned around living here and there.

And, what else have I missed?

When is key in my career. A major incidental developmental occurred in a jump for my profession. Due to delay, I missed a chance.

Rounding which base now? Always I feel like I can never go home for me the old Sandra does not exist.

Exchange these years to go back to a different future. No that isn’t what I’m saying. Would have been nice to treated with some respect.

Calling this all what? I have to be compelled to answer; collections of my outbursts.

Klinging to the past? I am not either!

Autism- No Simple Answer Says Sandra “But here goes my try!”

Autism? Simple answers? No! Here is
Sandra’s try at an explanation.
Autism has good graces.
Visit upon us to bless upon.
Doesn’t mean one shouldn’t ask,
“Why? What? When? Where and how?”
God could have intended
You being intentioned in the unhinging of the process.
Vaccination’s that is the key!
Say many with adamation!
I agree for them it could be,
A factor, insult that hit on.
Pharmacist in me says, the study was too small to make it a hallmark.
Flip the coin, drug makers threw around money, plus shouted out!!
Next, a group says environment
Causes problems no doubt.
Environmental insult.
Yep, that is why my child is shut into autism.
Remember here, environmental can be
From chemicals & diseases stalking inside to make their stand.
From, things like maybe Grandpa’s Agent Orange,
To a baby’s hospital stay due to RSV!
May yet wave
The Genetics Flag.
Throw into this mix, I will; smaller families, often an only child
That insists to be totally plugged into away from others.
Oh, how simple it would be
One answer, if could only twas or could be.
Yet, still I want to pose
Older parents, sperms and eggs as a contribution variable.
Not a reason not to conceive!
But to be aware more defects, mutations with age do occur.
Can one really say,
One cause is for autism?
Look at cancer! Common threads
There, still many different scenarios.
Genetics predispose, environmental assaults,
Turns on gene with a society that is ripe in culture and age of parents?
Yet, it matters!
No, it doesn’t matter!
Sound so crazy?
Yes, to help. No because we love and deal with it no matter what!
We learn what can and must be done.
But better realize the blame game must stop.
One answer might be cause in 1% of cases ( just me thinking),
Reality is autism is complex.
Complex, autism really is!
Yet, then is simple too.
Reaching out is what I want to do.
Remember right answers lead to correct therapy n treatments!
Wrong guesses and blame may only
Lead to burying data and wrong wizardly haphazard disasters.
Science, true keeps an open mind!
God is the first and Ultimate Scientist.
Together are we able
To do and can do n be our best.
In some ways the riddle of autism
Is not to be solved!
God means us to be
Who we are as he made us!
Change is something
All of us must do.
Adapting to you and others
Is being kind.
Let us not get behind
Stay in the forefront.
Doing out best to unlock the riddle
As much in prayer; God intends us to do!
I am sure by helping
We learn God’s lessons.
Helping those with autism
I bet could be a society improvement, God intends us to do.
No answer complete do I have;
Except my son is a blessing some may say  in disguise!
God we will accept your answers.
Thank you God! Amen!

Power that is brokered by the agencies through rules and regulations is staggering.  Change is never fast because of all the firewalls, roadblocks and hiding that go on.  Part of my mission is to break this process down.  Call it an informational enzymatic digestive action working on cyberspace at trans-dimensional warp speed and Scottie in heaven is working on the engines to help us in the endeavor.   So pass it on and let’s take back what so many, including my father, brothers and more have fought to preserve in the form of freedom; even those that are warped with no sense of duty, respect, courtesy or moral aptitude have a right to it.

ObamaCare's First Casualty

News that the Department of Health and Human Services was promulgating a rule that would destroy about 35% of the Health Savings Account market comes as no surprise to Tea Party activists who warned everyone who would listen that ObamaCare would kill the private insurance market.

The rule known as the "Medical Loss Ratio" rule would deny private and small business issued policies from being sold on the ObamaCare health care exchanges.  There are currently five million people who have small business and individual issued policies. Those policies will be ripped from their hands should the rule go into effect.

HHS does not seem to care that the rule will be directly violate President Obama's promise that "[I]f you like your health plan, you'll keep your health plan."   They also don't seem to care that their edict will decimate the Health Savings Account market.

Since their creation in 2003, HSAs have become the fastest growing health care product in history.  14 million Americans enjoy their benefits.  They are, in fact, the real alternative to government-run health care.  They are a market-based product that encourages people to save money by shopping for health care services.  No wonder they are the first victims of ObamaCare.

A Vision for Health Care in America

Here is a vision for health care in America that all people can agree upon:
Imagine a doctor and patient sitting in a doctor's office.  The patient has all the money they need to pay for their medical needs.  There are no insurance companies in the room.  There are no government bureaucrats in the room.  Just the doctor, the patient and the money.

How Do You Get There?
With the tax deduction “Cash in the Hand”:
For Individuals:
  • If you could deposit your income tax payment in a Health Savings Account, would you do it?
  • If you could deposit your property tax payment in a Health Savings Account, would you do it?
Waiters and Waitresses:
  • Would you like all the sales taxes collected each day by your employer to be divided equally between all the workers in the restaurant and deposited into a Health Savings Account for you?
Workers in a big box store:
  • Would you like your employers property tax bill divided equally between all the workers and deposited in your Health Savings Account for you?
  • Would you like your employers corporate income tax bill divided equally between all the workers and deposited in your Health Savings Account?
What can you do with the money in an Health Savings Account?
Buy Health Insurance
Pay for any health related expense
Conclusion
Do you want to live under the ObamaCare health care laws or would you rather have a Health Savings Account made possible by the tax deduction “Cash in the Hand”?
