I came home from visiting a daughter yesterday evening and found my brightest moment of the young year.  I had a notification from a social network site I belong to, Tea Party Command Center, of a story about the “Gun Appreciation Day” event in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday Jan. 19, 2013.  It featured a video of a newly elected state senator speaking about the constitutional rights of We the People.  The video was beyond inspiring to me.

Then they could click on Email/FAX/Both, and when they click on "Send", their own personal page (created from their zip code) would show names, titles and contact info of every one of their politicians or media, from local to national. In about 1/2 hr, you could learn about an issue, modify a letter and add your contact info, and then click on names of one or ALL to send it to by both Fax & email without paying a dime.  If our politicians are drowned by thousands of letters every day, they would have to pay attention to the voters, and could no longer ignore us. This could stop the corruption, and possibly even start Recalls and a vote for Treason for the VIPs. Then we can clean house, vet all the politicians, and get rid of the corrupt. We could take back control, since neither the Democrats or Republicans seem to be worried enough to get their hands dirty.

N.C. Senate President Pro-tem Phil Berger doesn’t need me in defense of erroneous charges; however, may I offer my observation?

Sen. Phil Berger, a majority of the GOP majority NC General Assembly does support Voter ID, a process to stop and/or prevent Voter fraud.

Voter fraud is a problem as each counterfeit vote actually diminishes every voter’s rights, and voter fraud does not characterize the skin color of the fraudulent voter(s).     Free and open voting elections are one of the most precious freedoms under our Constitution.  Voter fraud is a Constitutional violation of one of our freedoms; an open election by qualified voters to have their votes entirely counted.  Based on political polls in NC, upwards of 70% to 80% of our citizens support Voter ID legislation.

All education in NC is one of the most important activities, be it be public, private, church, charter, home, or otherwise.  Collecting National Education Association’s (NEA) Labor Unions dues is not and should not be any responsibility of NC Government.

Public Education results have been declining for years all across the USA.  For many years, the USA ruled the world in education our children.  Not so any more.  Labor Unions in education are and have continued to downgrade our public education in our children.  With 56 nations tested, the USA finished number 30.  Based on the National Center for Education Statistics, and with 8th graders with MA having the highest score of 299, DC having the lowest score of 260, NC finished in 22^nd place scoring 286.

Sen. Berger and almost all others believe teachers’ pay must be associated on evaluations  with educational results; not just on tenure.

NC is blessed with Right-to Work laws which allow workers to join a Labor Union if they choose, but does not require Labor Union membership to any.  Labor Unions have demanded more wages, salaries, and benefits in the private sector that have required many businesses to relocate or close.

In NC, everyone in need of healthcare is allowed to receive help as necessary in the private sector or the public sector.  As a patient with failing health, NC and the USA have the best healthcare system in the entire world.

What Do You Seek Most?

BIBLE MEDITATION:

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
The sins of God's people were great. Daniel prayed, "Our sins have risen up in Your face. And O God, we're praying. Turn Your anger and Your fury away." God will judge any nation that continues to print pornography, abort babies, applaud sodomy, and sings, "God bless us" at the same time. God's fury is turned against that nation. But Daniel is standing in the gap saying, "O God, remove our guilt," then, "Lord, restore Your glory...cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake." (v. 17).

Daniel's motivation is not for America's sake, not for Israel's sake, not for a denomination's sake, not for his sake, but for God's sake. "For Thy city and Thy people are called by Thy name."

What a great man Daniel was. Most of us ask God to get us out of the mess we're in so we can drive new cars and not see the stock market tumble. How many are consumed for the glory of God? Very few. Daniel was. Daniel says, "God, for Your sake, for Your name, do it!"

ACTION POINT:
Do you have a burning in your heart for the name of our God to be exalted throughout this earth? His name has been stepped on, blasphemed, and ridiculed. Make the focus of your prayers and the goal of your prayers the glory of God.
 

So sick of hearing the "left" play the race card. You never hear conservitives stooping so low. If you hold a minority accountable for their actions, you must be a racist. Forget the fact that what they did was reprehensible, if you call them out, your a racist. It's ok if its done to you though.

Except for the date, 1984, George Orwell had it right.

Replete with doublespeak, innuendos, and outright falsehoods, the Inauguration speech given by Barack Hussein Obama to launch his second term was a verbal déjà vu of the 2009 $787 billion stimulus package…a wish list for “progressives.”

The full blown Orwellian hypocrisy was on clear display before Obama even opened his mouth.

Beginning with an invocation where the United States was describes as “One nation…indivisible…with liberty and justice for all.”  What happened to “under God” in that invocation?  When does one give an invocation at a presidential inauguration where the words of the American Pledge of Allegiance are intentionally edited to omit the word “under God”, and why?

That this glaring omission would be immediately followed by a magnificent rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic was truly ironic.

Then the Oval Office occupant, who happens to be the most politicized, divisive, partisan human in Washington DC, who has openly launched multi-pronged assaults upon the U.S. Constitution, publically committed perjury by taking the oath of office.

After that, the utter hypocrisy in his inaugural address was spoken before a gathering roughly one third the size of the 2009 inaugural crowd.

Obama preached that: “Together, we discovered that a free market only thrives when there are rules to ensure competition and fair play.”

Who decides what fair play is?  Who decides what rules will ensure competition?

The American free market Capitalist system and free people making decisions that are in their best interests ensure competition and define fair play, not government interference.

He continued: “For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it. We believe that America’s prosperity must rest upon the broad shoulders of a rising middle class. We know that America thrives when every person can find independence and pride in their work; when the wages of honest labor liberate families from the brink of hardship.”

A people, freed from the shackles of needless government involvement, built America into the most inventive, prosperous, generous and powerful nation in world history.  No matter how long or how often the Marxist mantra of equality is repeated, those recitations do not change that a people free to pursue their happiness within a free market Capitalist system have a better chance of achieving prosperity than do unionized government sector clerks working for a federal ministry.

Obama pronounced: “For we remember the lessons of our past, when twilight years were spent in poverty, and parents of a child with a disability had nowhere to turn. We do not believe that in this country, freedom is reserved for the lucky, or happiness for the few. We recognize that no matter how responsibly we live our lives, any one of us, at any time, may face a job loss, or a sudden illness, or a home swept away in a terrible storm. The commitments we make to each other – through Medicare, and Medicaid, and Social Security – these things do not sap our initiative; they strengthen us. They do not make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great.”

When twilight years were spent in poverty?  Before big government socialist programs, which now account for over fifty percent of federal spending by a government that is over $16 trillion in debt and which borrows over forty percent of every dollar spent, one’s twilight years were spent living with family, who took better care of their elders with far more love and concern than is possible from an impersonal government bureaucracy where the elderly individual is little more than a number.

When parents of a child with a disability had nowhere to turn?  Disabled children were loved and cared for by their families.  When families looked for help, they looked to churches and private charities.  They did not look to a bureaucrat more concerned with their own salaries and benefits than with the public they allegedly “served.”

He went on: “We, the people, still believe that our obligations as Americans are not just to ourselves, but to all posterity. We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations. Some may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science, but none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms. The path towards sustainable energy sources will be long and sometimes difficult. But America cannot resist this transition; we must lead it. We cannot cede to other nations the technology that will power new jobs and new industries – we must claim its promise. That is how we will maintain our economic vitality and our national treasure – our forests and waterways; our croplands and snowcapped peaks. That is how we will preserve our planet, commanded to our care by God. That’s what will lend meaning to the creed our fathers once declared.”

This is where another item on the “progressive” laundry list comes to light.  Here Obama reveals that based upon the junk science propagandizing “climate change” mythology, the disastrous waste of money on green energy companies and the lining of his political supports’ pockets at taxpayer’s expense will both continue unabated.

A true display of “progressive” doublespeak followed: “We will defend our people and uphold our values through strength of arms and rule of law.”

Through the strength of arms?  This coming from a politician who, despite the fact that Islamofascists are waging war on America, is bent on retreating from the battlefield, unilateral nuclear disarmament and reducing national defense?

Rule of law?  This from a fringe leftist career politician who chooses which laws his Attorney General enforces based upon their partisan political agenda?  Who ignores legally passed laws while violating the U.S. Constitution by dictating his own through Executive Order?

On foreign policy the newspeak was on crystal clear display: “America will remain the anchor of strong alliances in every corner of the globe; and we will renew those institutions that extend our capacity to manage crisis abroad, for no one has a greater stake in a peaceful world than its most powerful nation.”

America will remain the anchor of strong alliances?  This from someone who upon taking office shipped the bust of Winston Churchill back to Great Britain and who displays open disdain for Israel and its leaders?  Who continues to put Israel at existential risk by insisting on negotiating with an inflexible Iranian theocracy committed to Israel’s destruction?  Who rushed the withdrawal from Iraq, thereby squandering the blood, treasure and sacrifice spent to create another ally in the Middle East, and is rushing withdrawal from Afghanistan, risking that the Taliban and Al Qaeda will fill the vacuum?

Then, a true display of the “progressive” agenda for the next four years was displayed with: “For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts.  Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. Our journey is not complete until no citizen is forced to wait for hours to exercise the right to vote. Our journey is not complete until we find a better way to welcome the striving, hopeful immigrants who still see America as a land of opportunity; until bright young students and engineers are enlisted in our workforce rather than expelled from our country. Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm.”

Our wives, mothers and daughters earn a living equal to their efforts?  This coming from a White House who’s underpaying of female staff is public knowledge?

Promoting gay marriage, attacking voter registration laws, amnesty through immigration reform and disarmament of Americans through gun control will be on the Oval Office check list.

Then the ultimate in hypocrisy was revealed: “For now decisions are upon us, and we cannot afford delay. We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate.”

We cannot mistake absolutism for principle?  This from quite possibly the most inflexible absolutist in American political history?  The real crisis lies in “progressives” mistaking Americans standing on American principles for absolutism.

We cannot substitute spectacle for politics?  This from a non-stop political campaigner who is the poster child for photo-ops?

We cannot treat name-calling as reasoned debate?  This from a rigid political ideolog who lectures and scolds his political opponents over their choice of words but remains absolutely silent when his political brethren use far more incendiary, unreasoned and divisive words?

There was nothing about the economy.  There was virtually nothing about job creation, deficit or debt reduction.

This was a declaration that once again the era of big government is at hand.

Unlike the great inaugural speeches of the past, this was not a call for national unity, but a call to arms for his “progressive” allies.  

With this speech Barack Hussein Obama ensures that America will remain the divided States.  He confirms that compromise in any way shape or form is at the bottom of his list of priorities.  As was the case in his first term, the destruction of his political opposition remains his primary concern.

Rush Limbaugh on his radio show discussed an article which stated that there is no respected voice in the national arena articulating Conservatism. Such an advocate for Conservatism is crucial to reversing the direction of America as Obama drives us toward socialism while low-info voters gleefully sing Kumbaya in the backseat.

Well excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but we had an extraordinary advocate for Conservatism and look what happened to her. Judas on our side betrayed her – sold her reputation for 30 seconds of fame and favor with the media.

Even now, folks on our side are still beating up on Sarah Palin saying – Palin has lost her appeal – Palin is unelectable – Palin wasn't smart enough – Palin wasn't prepared and etc. So, this is how we treat our heroes.

Many Democrat Party politicians/advocates are immoral, liars and cheats. And yet, they are treated like super-stars by the media. Democrats have the backs of their associates, no matter what. For example: Democrats never rebuked Clinton for receiving oral sex from an intern in the Oval Office. They simply launched a campaign claiming that any man in Clinton’s position would have reacted like him. Think about that folks, Democrats and the media lowered the standard of national leadership behavior to cover their guy.

We Conservatives act as if our representatives must be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ – perfect in every way. At a Conservative's slightest misstep, Republicans/Conservatives trip over one another backing away from the individual in an effort to get out of the media and Democrat's line of fire.

Clearly, advocates of Conservatism are expected to walk on water by both political parties.

Word on the political street is we need a respected advocate for Conservatism to reach low-info voters. While I do believe a new voice will emerge, I wonder who could be better than Sarah Palin? Will we betray our new Conservative hero?

Inevitably, Palin's humanity was revealed; she was not perfect. But still, Palin is extraordinary and will be a tough act to follow.

Allow me to recap. Immediately following her amazing VP nomination acceptance speech, the media/the left went crazy consumed with hatred and a desperate desire to destroy her. Why? Palin was a beautiful, smart, articulate and strong woman who boldly touted traditional values and a love for God, family and country – all of which are anathemas to the left.

No tactic was too low to discredit Palin. Thus, the left even attacked Trig, Palin's Down Syndrome child.

Women in my family parroted the media talking point that Palin was bad for women. I thought, “You idiots, Palin is the epitome of everything the left/Democrats claim to desire for women – successful inside and outside of the home.”

While governor of Alaska, the left tried to drown Palin in lawsuits. Palin resigned to save her state from the cost and aggravation. The left's mantra was Palin is a quit-er and republicans/conservatives joined their chorus.

Another thing the left successfully did to discredit Palin was to brand her “stupid”. Who among us could survive every word out of our mouth being judged from a point of view that you are stupid? Meanwhile, Obama ran around saying America has 57 states and the media completely ignored this faux pas, along with several others by Obama.

Despite relentless attacks by hostel interviewers, in every TV interview, Palin always stood strong, boldly touting Conservatism. Man, you got to love this remarkable woman.

Also, completely ignored is Palin's tremendous charisma which I witnessed first hand on numerous occasions. We launched one of our Tea Party Express national bus tours in Searchlight Nevada - a huge dust bowl. Palin was our keynote speaker. Twenty-five thousand patriots attended with many camping out the night before to reserve their spot. Through the windows of our Tea Party Express bus as we arrived, I watched seniors who parked a mile away using walkers to make their way to the event.

The admiration for Palin felt a little like the scene in the Bible in which a woman said if I can just touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole. In all of my 400 tea parties and 9 tours across America, no one, I repeat, no one affected audiences like Sarah Palin.

When this new conservative voice emerges on the scene, will we stand behind our hero no matter what, barring something immoral or criminal? Or, will we expect our guy or gal to be the second coming of Jesus. Have we learned something from the Republican/Conservative betrayal of Palin and their passivity and culpability in the media's viscous vile destruction of her image?

i could really use your help.
i was talking with my financial planner, investment broker, and my lenders. i was trying to explain to them, that i wanted to realign everything to match the White House Plan.

they looked confused, said, what do you mean?
i said, you know, i want to spend twice as much as i take in, i don't want to have a budget, or plan, or even save anything for the future.

they looked at me like i was a space alien and their Novocain shot just took effect, they couldn't even talk.

We struggle in this current condition to find the truth and meaning of things worth believing in. Daily we are bombarded by a variety of half truths, outright lies and disinformation from sources at every turn.

Our government, the media, business and our entertainment industry; once trusted and unbiased has over the last several decades realized their power to influence. A long standing premise in psychology touts that the human mind cannot distinguish between what is real and what is repeatedly and vividly imagined.

From this simple idea, successful ad campaigns, political contests and countless other enterprises have been launched. The great strategist Sun Tzu so believed in this principle that in his treatise the art of war, he listed it as a key and central step in the process toward victory.

The casualty of this trend is of course -Truth. In the absence of truth, we languish; confused and unbalanced, seeking some island of support to anchor us. So in such a dilemma, where do we turn for that point of foundation?

  Let us consider those things which our fathers considered important and worth. That honor, courage and virtue mean everything. That character, integrity are treasures most valued and sought after.

These things do not age, they do not diminish, and they are eternal and immutable. Let us hold fast to those former things and keep them close in our hearts. Let us act to restore them to our Nation.

We are governed by consent , but how do we as individuals withdraw such consent ?

Perhaps we need to think about this and act as individuals as well as  collectively ?

A list of possible ways to impact the government at what ever level you believe is overreaching

their authority.

Stop paying taxes

Stop Buying/using things that fund the government through use taxes

Make demands for services from the government Freedom of information requests on everything you can think of which is your right under the law.

Think of all the ways to slow down and jam up the machine in lawful ways

Go to city hall and ask questions and waste the staffs time , do the same at the state capital

go visit your congressman and waste his/her time too

Request a copy of your tax return form 2009 and 2010

Send them a check for 20 cents every week for and as that they apply it to your withholding

File a w2 for your cat and dog. "LOL"

WE THE PEOPLE: Even as a young man when I first heard these words read in school, they fascinated me. The statement that opens the constitution of the United States of America was written in a style that had flair. I assumed that it was the central purpose behind those three words.

But then I began reading the constitution and its history and background. It was during this process that the true meaning of those majestic words came to light. On the surface it seemed to only apply to those involved in the initial process of birthing a Nation, yet its implications run far deeper. Our founding fathers were men of education. They chose the words carefully, wisely and with thought for their impact as time passed.

This was not a document of the immediate, but a forum for the future of a Nation and its people. A strong groundwork upon which our Country could build and grow. The words were inspired, thoughtful and profound and powerful in concept.

WE THE PEOPLE applies to every American, throughout all of its history. Not just that first generation of our founding fathers, but to every generation that would follow. WE THE PEOPLE – expresses an obligation upon every citizen of this land to actively participate in the conduct of our representative government.

It is not the sole duty of our elected officials, nor the realm of the intellectual or academic, but it is the people’s task to see that government serves the people and not the people serve the government. The fact that our Nation is in its current state, is a reflection of our failure to be that driving force behind our Republic as viewed through the eyes of the founding fathers.

In the early period of our Nation, our fore people understood the precept and actively participated in the administration of government. But over time, the cares of life filled our time and we became lazy, selecting others to do our bidding and make decisions for us. 

We abdicated our responsibilities, and simply allowed others to assume them for us. We decided that the burden of our civil responsibility was too great. We wanted the government to do for us, and in doing so we opened the Pandora’s box.

When left unchecked, even the best of men are corruptible. James Madison understood this very fact when he said “The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted”, and “If men were angels, no government would be necessary”. Thus when the people fail to hold their elected officials accountable, and relinquish their responsibility, tyranny follows.

We the People are the responsible parties in this great social experiment.

(NaturalNews) There is a very good reason why people who live in cities tend to be liberal while those who live in rural areas tend to be conservative. In a city, the existence of nearby neighbors, the shared dependence on infrastructure and the close proximity of police stations automatically lends itself to a socialist mindset. On issues like guns, city people seem to be unable to imagine why anyone would "need" a rifle, for example, and because all guns scare them, they would prefer to force everyone across the country to turn them all in.

People who live in rural areas, in great contrast, have every reason to be more conservative and independent. Their local sheriff might be 30 minutes away in an emergency, meaning that self protection is truly up to you and can't simply be delegated to someone else. Self-reliance means survival. In rural living, firearms are absolutely necessary tools to protect your animals from predators, eliminate varmints that are destroying your garden, and provide real security for legitimate threats to your safety. People who live in cities tend not to be able to understand these things because they can't imagine country life.

Because cities pack so many people in such a small space, there is a commonsense basis for lots of little laws and regulations on things like noise, littering and even your car's emissions. After all, one incredibly noisy person living in an apartment can prevent a hundred people from getting to sleep, so noise ordinances make sense where people live in close proximity.

Out in the country, where the nearest house might be a quarter-mile away, noise ordinances make no sense. Regulations on every little detail of the lives of the people simply don't fly.

FACT: Today, about 80% of the U.S. population lives in cities.

The political divide in America today is largely a division of "city folks" versus "country folks"

City people tend to be socialist-minded. Their motto is: Conform! Obey! Be part of the collective!

Country people tend to be libertarian-minded. Their motto is: Survive! Work hard! Stand out as an individual!

City people are afraid of non-conformity. They're afraid of tractors, guns, farm animals and anything else they don't understand.

Country people are afraid of being told what to do by a bunch of city people who have no clue where their food comes from, where water comes from, what "growing seasons" are, or how to survive in the real world.

City people tend to believe in "living off the government" and collective welfare and other entitlements wherever possible.

Country people tend to believe in "living off the land" and finding ways to survive on their own or with the help of family. They feel a sense of personal shame if driven to use food stamps or other forms of welfare.

City people tend to vote democratic because democrats reflect the lean toward socialism and everything socialism brings them: welfare, subsidized housing, conformity, obedience, etc.

Country people tend to vote Republican because Republicans reflect more of a rugged individualism mindset that encourages business ownership, financial savings and living a more free life with fewer regulations and government controls.

If you look at every voting map of America over the last few years, you'll find that rural areas overwhelmingly voted Republican while urban areas overwhelmingly voted Democrat. The following map shows the congressional district results from the 2010 election:

Modern-day cities are artificial constructs ripe for collapse

Cities are artificial constructs. They are not the "real world." Cities only exist because a massive amount of energy is expended to import water, food, electricity, consumer goods, fuel and other items to the people living there.

Cities offer tremendous advantages to residents, of course, including convenience, efficiencies of commerce, shared defenses against the wilderness, specialization of the workforce, a critical mass of population needed to offer universities, and so on. People live in cities precisely because cities seem to offer them more advantages than living in the country. For most people, this comes down to a single answer: JOBS.

Most people can't find work in the country, so they live in cities in order to get a job. Unfortunately, living in the city is far more expensive than living in the country, so much of their paycheck goes to paying the rent on their expensive city apartment, parking permits, higher food costs and so on.

Ultimately, however, cities are death traps. Let's look at Los Angeles as the perfect example of why this is the case.

Example: Why Los Angeles is a death trap

• LA has no inherent water supply. Virtually all the water used throughout the region must be imported and pumped over a mountain range at great cost. This pumping of water is entirely dependent on the power grid remaining functional.

• LA is incapable of being evacuated. The population density of the city is mathematically far too great to be evacuated via the limited number of roadways exiting the city.

• LA has multiple points of systemic failure. If the power grid goes down, LA is finished. If the water supply stops pumping, LA is finished. If farmers go on strike and stop producing food for the cities, LA is finished. If the police stand down or quit, LA is finished. If gasoline and fuel supplies are cut off, LA is finished. If the sewer and sanitation systems fail, LA is finished.

• LA has a scary population density of about 7,000 people per square mile. That's the highest of any city in the USA. This population density results in almost immediate panic and violence in any collapse scenario. Humans are not biologically designed to live in such high density environments.

• LA is infested with gangs that are barely kept under control right now. Those gangs would love nothing better than the see law enforcement go on strike or a power grid failure or some other kind of systemic collapse. That would give them the opportunity to go on the offensive and start looting, pillaging and murdering.

There are more reasons why LA is a death trap, but these five should paint the picture clearly enough. And it's not just LA, of course. Here are the top 20 death traps in America today...

While all of these cities are death traps, each has its own unique risks and vulnerabilities. Phoenix, for example, is especially susceptible to disruptions in the water supply. New York City is geographically cut off from the mainland and can easily be crippled by the destruction of its bridges. Houston and Miami are susceptible to hurricanes. Denver is heavily targeted by Russian nukes, and so on.

The more dense cities become, the more insane their leadership becomes

One thing you'll notice about this list is that the mayors and city council members of these cities tend to be some of the most outrageously insane people walking the planet today.

Why is that? Those who have a kind of mental sickness that causes them to seek control over others naturally flock to the highest population density areas where they can attempt to control as many people as possible. This is one reason why cities become home to control freaks who seek total domination over the private lives of everyone else.

New York City mayor Bloomberg, for example, wants to control the sizes of sodas you can buy, whether or not you get painkillers in the hospital emergency room and even how much rent landlords can charge tenants. If he could get away with it, he would probably also like to control how many square sheets of toilet paper you wipe with and how many times you chew each bite of food before swallowing. Control freaks love cities because that's where people can more easily be dominated. Citizens of cities tend to be more obedient and conformist than people living in rural areas. Plus, city folks are generally not as well armed, making them easy to dominate by force, if necessary.

Community leaders of rural areas tend to be less insane and more practical than city leaders. That's because people know each other better, so there's more trust and reputation familiarity in small towns than in large cities. Plus, leaders of small towns know that if they try to become tyrants, some local rancher will just put a bullet in their head with a long-range hunting rifle. It's that kind of awareness that helps keep community leaders honest and accountable.

Why the coming collapse will shift America away from liberalism and toward conservatism

Here's the real point of this entire article. I wanted to start with this but needed everything above to provide the appropriate background and context.

Pick your crisis, any crisis: Global debt collapse, solar flare followed by power grid failure, EMP weapon strike by North Korea causing power grid failure, biological weapons attack, martial law declaration followed by civil war, etc. In any sufficiently large scenario, the cities become death traps.

• A sustained power grid failure (lasting several months) would likely result in something approaching an 80% fatality rate for those living in cities.

• A biological weapon release could easily cause a 30% fatality rate for those in the cities.

• An economic collapse (bank failures, etc.) could also see mass casualties across U.S. cities due to starvation, disease, outbreaks of violence and so on.

Aside from the devastating human cost of such scenarios, which I won't really focus on because that's not the point of this article, the net effect of any mass die-off would be a shifting of the population toward individualism, conservatism and country living.

A mass die-off of people living in cities, in other words, is essentially a mass die-off of Obama voters (or more liberal-minded, socialist-minded people). This is one reason why rugged individuals, survivalists, preppers and rural people are ultimately going to be in the majority: because crisis comes to civilization with surprising regularity. Every crisis resulting in a mass die-off inevitably kills those who are less able to survive because they are living as parasites on a system that will ultimately fail them. The true long-term survivors are those who live and breathe independence, self-reliance and personal defense.

To put all this another way, collectivists don't survive very long in a real crisis. Because they live their lives dependent on the system, they have lost the skills -- and the spirit -- to survive on their own.

The cycles of civilization

As populations tend to become more lazy, apathetic and dependent over time (enjoying the spoils of abundance and innovation their ancestors put in place), populations tend to slide toward collectivism as long as conditions allow. Click here to see my related video called the Cycle of Civilization.

This brings us to the following conclusion:

As population rises, nations tend to slide toward collectivism / socialism until there is a die-off crisis, at which point those remaining will largely be proponents of conservatism and libertarianism.

This is one of the reasons why civilizations tend to go through predictable cycles: After abundance and innovation comes apathy and collectivism. Then corruption, exploitation, a stripping of liberties and so on. This is then followed by revolution and a new era of freedom which creates abundance and innovation. Then the cycle repeats.

Today, America is in the downward stroke of the collectivism cycle, with the government having already crossed the threshold into criminal corruption, and now the effort to strip all rights from the people is well under way. History shows us that this will be followed by a dark period of intense violations of human rights, then a revolution and a new era of freedom.

But this cycle can be interrupted at any time with a sufficiently large crisis that causes a mass die-off. This is because die-offs are not equally applied across the population. It is the collectivist-minded societal parasite who is far more likely to die in any crisis than a productive, individual-minded taxpayer who currently supports the system.

The silver lining for the future of human civilization

In one sense, this is the silver lining that emerges from any potential crisis. While massive loss of life is always tragic, it may be precisely the thing that jolts a civilization out of its downward spiral of collectivism and restarts the engine of individualism and innovation that results in real progress.

Put another way, it is difficult to imagine the United States of America, as it exists today, achieving anything really profound in the sciences, space exploration, physics or human understanding because the nation is presently caught in a suffocating debt spiral consumed by paying out entitlements to a growing class of parasitic takers who contribute nothing meaningful to humankind. We have become, in part, a nation of mindless consumers whose lives really make no different whatsoever to the advancement of humanity. Should a crisis emerge that results in a massive die-off of the parasitic "takers," although the tragic loss of life would be immense, it would also have the effect of vastly reducing the masses who are holding back civilization from real progress in human understanding and achievement. For the record, in no way does this mean I wish for such an outcome nor endorse any such outcome. I have long been a defender of life, and I have no desire to see anyone suffer or die. I am merely discussing cause and effect and how demographics shift due to large-scale crisis.

I have heard this crudely (and incorrectly) paraphrased with the statement that, "What America really needs right now is a massive die-off to purge all the useless eaters." That's not what I'm saying, and it smacks of a desire to engage in genocide.

Instead, what I'm saying is that cities tend to breed a "failure" mindset that infects the population and turns otherwise productive and rugged people into pathetic, spineless, obedient cowards. This explains why nobody fought back during the Aurora, Colorado shooting carried out by James Holmes. It explains why people call 911 after an intruder has already smashed down their front door, screaming into the phone, "SHOULD I SHOOT THEM?" (And it also explains why 911 operators reply with, "No! Don't shoot!") It explains why city people tend to go along with tyranny and oppression.

It explains why humanity is stalled in a cycle of pathetic conformity, raising a generation of over-Google-fied morons who have lost all imagination and are but a shadow of their ancestors. The convenience of city life has, with some exceptions of course, produced apathy, timidity and acquiescence. The real values of progress -- innovation, invention, determination and self-reliance -- are now far more prevalent in rural-minded citizens who are strong, rugged survivors and explorers. That's the kind of mindset that's going to help human civilization reach for the stars. It's going to take courage, innovation and risk -- all the things that a "city mindset" sucks out of our souls and diminishes in our minds.

Cities are the last refuge of the weak-willed, weak-minded and conformist socialbots. And that's why they will suffer a disproportionate number of fatalities in any sufficiently severe collapse.

While several states are mulling ways to counter the president’s agenda and many individuals fear the president is putting the U.S. on a path toward confiscating guns  Steven Vaus wrote a song  giving Obama, a heads up, in Texas about gun ownership.
