The cycle of abuse is a social cycle theory developed in 1979 by Lenore E. Walker to explain patterns of behavior in an abusive relationship. Walker interviewed 1,500 women who had been subject to domestic violence and found that there was a similar pattern of abuse, called the "cycle of abuse". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycle_of_abuse

Walker also cautions that the length of the cycle usually diminishes over time so that the "reconciliation" and "calm" stages may disappear, violence becomes more intense and the cycles become more frequent.

1: Tension building-During this period, the abuser feels ignored, threatened, annoyed or wronged. To prevent violence, the victim may try to reduce the tension by becoming compliant and nurturing. We see President Obama and the left do this on a daily basis, lest we forget the 'Apology Tour'

2: Acting-out-During this stage the abuser attempts to dominate his partner, with the use of violence. The release of energy reduces the tension, and the abuser may feel or express that the victim "had it coming" to them. Anyone that has read any public boards after the Garland, TX attacks, read the similar comments 'Well, she shouldn't of provoked them'.

3: Reconciliation/honeymoon- The victim feels pain, fear, humiliation, disrespect, confusion, and may wrongly feel responsible. The abuser will often times ignore the event, or offer false apologies.

4: Calm-During this phase, the relationship is relatively calm and peaceable. This stage the enemy regroups and the false sense of rightness prevents separation or intervention. Next few weeks, it will be calm in America, she has earned her day of calm, after appeasing the Muslims.

Walker also cautions that the length of the cycle usually diminishes over time so that the "reconciliation" and "calm" stages may disappear, violence becomes more intense and the cycles become more frequent. But, don't worry. The cycle will start up again over some perceived offense from the muslims.
The point of terrorism is to inspire terror to control people. The point of the Garland, Texas Art contest was to tell the terrorists they are not feared and will not control us. They will kill you whether you draw cartoons or not because they believe you should be killed for not being a Muslim. This isn't about cartoons, it's about world domination of Islam.
Just like an abusive husband will continue to abuse if the wife lets him, Islam will continue to lash out every time they feel offended.  It's time to quit walking around on eggshells like a battered wife, and stand up to the terror that is assaulting America.

ISIL Claims Responsibility for Texas Attack

During a radio broadcast in Syria, ISIL, a.k.a. the Islamic State, claimed responsibility for the attack at the art contest and show featuring images of Muhammad in Garland, Texas. Jihadist roommates Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi drove 1,000 miles from Arizona to launch an attack with rifles, body armor and copious amounts of ammunition. Simpson had been monitored by the government since 2006. In 2010, the FBI charged Simpson with trying to travel to Somalia to engage in jihad, but the charges were dropped. After wounding an unarmed security guard, the two jihadists were stopped by a traffic cop who used a few well-aimed shots from his pistol to drop the terrorists. Regardless if Simpson and Soofi actually had a connection to ISIL, the group used the opportunity to threaten the U.S. “We tell … America that what is coming will be more grievous and more bitter and you will see from the soldiers of the Caliphate what will harm you, God willing,” ISIL said in its radio broadcast. But after all that effort and planning, this attack was stopped by a lone cop with what may possibly be his standard-issue sidearm. At their peril, jihadists forget that, unlike France, the U.S. is armed. More…

No, More Democrat ‘Leadership’ Is Not What Baltimore Needs

Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD) pontificated on the Baltimore rioting and what she believes is contributing to poverty and, ultimately, violent behavior among minorities. Fox News anchor Chris Wallace brought up the city’s excessive crime rates, high unemployment and stunning student illiteracy and wondered if liberal policies are to blame since Baltimore has been under Democrat leadership for five consecutive decades. “No, I think it’s been unevenly spread,” Edwards responded. “I mean I would say, for example with our schools, just prior to the Freddie Gray incident, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was actually prevailing upon our Republican governor to release money for school funding.” When host Chris Wallace pointed out that “Baltimore spends the third highest amount per capita on its public schools,” Edwards rebutted, “There’s uneven spending in the public schools.”

But if the solution is simply to invest more money, how do Democrats explain the city’s past spending? Baltimore threw more money at the problem, courtesy of Barack Obama, and it failed spectacularly. According to The Washington Free Beacon, “Baltimore received over $1.8 billion from President Barack Obama’s stimulus law, including $467.1 million to invest in education and $26.5 million for crime prevention. President Obama claimed last Tuesday that if the Republican-controlled Congress would implement his policies to make ‘massive investments in urban communities,’ they could ‘make a difference right now’ in the city, currently in upheaval following the death of Freddie Gray.” What we need is less government and more parental involvement. No amount of funding can fill the void left by dysfunctional, single-parent families. And that’s why liberal policies, well-intentioned as they may be, are to blame for urban unrest.

Number of ER Visits on the Rise. Thanks, ObamaCare

For an increasing number of Americans, it’s easier to go to the emergency room than a doctor’s office. A wide majority of ER physicians, 75%, say they’ve seen the number of people walking through their doors increase, according to a poll by the American College of Emergency Physicians. This trend is, in part, due to the “Affordable” Care Act because it places a greater number of people on Medicaid. Many doctors don’t accept patients on Medicaid because of its low reimbursement rate. In other words, the government created a larger demand for doctors' services while mandating how much doctors will get paid, contrary to the laws of economics. As a result, patients face long wait times for appointments, so they look for alternatives. Dr. John O'Shea, a senior fellow at The Heritage Foundation, said, “I’ve seen it personally. I’ve seen patients who come into the ER because their primary care physician couldn’t see them for weeks or months.” The Left sold ObamaCare on the promise that it would decrease the number of ER visits, but having state-mandated health insurance does not make people healthier, nor does it create timely access to a doctor. More…

Fiorina Brings Business Acumen to GOP Field

By Lewis Morris

2015-05-05-00f72d43_large.jpg

Businesswoman Carly Fiorina officially announced her bid for the White House Monday, becoming the fourth Republican (followed immediately by the fifth, Ben Carson), to join a rapidly growing and increasingly diverse field of candidates.

Fiorina, best known for her six years as CEO of tech giant Hewlett-Packard (HP), announced her candidacy in a video that started out with a swipe at Hillary Clinton. “Our Founders never intended for us to have a professional political class,” Fiorina said, adding, “We know the only way to reimagine our government is to reimagine who is leading it.”

Fiorina has taken a number of shots at Clinton in recent weeks at appearances in Iowa, New Hampshire and elsewhere, pointing out Clinton’s glaring failures as secretary of state and calling out her appalling hypocrisy. For example, Fiorina noted Hillary “tweets about women’s rights in this country and takes money from governments that deny women the most basic human rights.”

We bet she could teach Hillary a few things about email servers, too.

In her announcement, Fiorina called for an end to the very identity politics Clinton and her ilk employ to turn America upside down. Fiorina insists the fact she is a woman negates the shield that seems to exist around Clinton, making male opponents reluctant to engage her majesty for fear of being called a misogynist or worse. Of course, that won’t stop liberals from attacking Fiorina. After all, they invented identity politics, which means they can break their own rules whenever they choose.

Fiorina has made the economy a focal point of her bid. “The real reason why our economy isn’t helping everyone is because we are destroying more businesses than we are creating,” she says. Her platform calls for undoing complex regulations that are strangulating business growth and for bringing an end to the “web of dependence” that both traps the poor and creates more poverty.

Fiorina’s business background gives her some authority in this regard. A self-made woman who started her career at AT&T and went on become an executive at Lucent, a French telecommunications company, Fiorina became the first woman to run a Fortune 20 company when she took over as CEO of HP in 1999. During her tenure, HP became the world’s largest computer manufacturer, but her reputation was damaged after the company laid off 30,000 workers and she was ousted in a board-room fight in 2005.

While shattering the glass ceiling works in Fiorina’s favor, the messy details behind her removal as CEO leaves her open to accusations for being a bad boss who fired tens of thousands of employees. She is also going to face a lot of heat for being one of the dreaded One Percent, a CEO in a time when being the boss of a major international company automatically makes you a bad person in the eyes of much of the country. A website that runs under a URL her team neglected to purchase — carlyfiorina.org — is already going after her for the HP firings.

Fiorina’s political background is sparse. She served as an adviser to John McCain’s ill-fated 2008 campaign, and ran for Senate against Barbara Boxer in 2010. She won a hard fought Republican primary (who can forget her hilariously infamous “demon sheep” ad), but lost to Boxer in the general election by 10 points. It is California, after all.

There’s no denying Fiorina’s candidacy is a long shot. Perhaps she’s really running for the more realistic possibility of a vice presidential slot on the Republican ticket.

Yet she remains undeterred by the attacks that have already come her way. She’s certainly comfortable with her track record running a $90 billion company, and she uses it to provide a contrast to Hillary, whose accomplishments boil down to marrying Bill and using that to secure a couple of political posts. Fiorina says, “I come from a world where speeches are not accomplishments. Activity isn’t accomplishment. Title isn’t accomplishment. I come from a world where you have to actually do something; you have to produce results.”

Now we’ll see if Carly Fiorina can continue producing results in the world of politics.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Thomas Sowell: “The ‘legacy of slavery’ argument is not just an excuse for inexcusable behavior in the ghettos. In a larger sense, it is an evasion of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our times, and the political policies based on that vision, over the past half century. Anyone who is serious about evidence need only compare black communities as they evolved in the first 100 years after slavery with black communities as they evolved in the first 50 years after the explosive growth of the welfare state, beginning in the 1960s. You would be hard-pressed to find as many ghetto riots prior to the 1960s as we have seen just in the past year, much less in the 50 years since a wave of such riots swept across the country in 1965. … Such trends are not unique to blacks, nor even to the United States. The welfare state has led to remarkably similar trends among the white underclass in England over the same period. … You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization — including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain — without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.”

JIHAD WATCH

Elton Simpson (left) and Nadir Soofi (right) are suspected of opening fire on a contest for drawings of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad in Texas.

FBI under increased scrutiny for failing to prevent Garland jihad shooting

They had Elton Simpson on their radar for years. But it is FBI policy in the Obama Administration not to acknowledge, much less study, the beliefs that motivate such attacks. The FBI training materials, by order of John Brennan and Barack Obama, do not mention Islam and jihad in connection with terrorism. So how can […]

It isn’t as if it is hard to find such a link, but U.S. authorities under Obama are so determinedly clueless that it takes them a great deal of effort to arrive at the obvious. At very least, the shooter appears to have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (Amirul Mu’mineen is Leader of the […]

BUDGET BROUHAHA SETS UP nOBAMACARE FIGHT
Senate and House Republicans announced a unified budget plan Wednesday that allows them to bypass Democrats and send legislation that repeals or revises nObamaCare to the president’s desk, while balancing the federal budget within 10 years. Though the plan is non-binding and spending bills must be passed, the proposal lays out the Republican vision of how to handle the taxpayers’ money. With the 2016 political battlefield in sight reaction was swift. Democrats called it a “gimmicky” plan that paves the way for tax break for the wealthy, while Republicans said it would make Washington “live within its means.” A vote in the House is expected Friday with the Senate following suit next week.  -Fox News

Early snag on VA spending bill over war fund -   The Hill: “House Republicans delayed a vote Wednesday night on their first spending bill of the year amid concerns that a controversial bipartisan amendment to eliminate use of a Pentagon war fund for military construction projects might have the votes to pass….[House] leadership decided to push back votes on the legislation…untilThursday. The amendment offered by [Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Rep.Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C.,]… would strike provisions of the bill for military construction projects that use funds from the Pentagon's war fund known as the Overseas Contingency Operations account. Both Van Hollen and Mulvaney argued it represented a budgetary ‘gimmick’ to avoid spending caps established by the 2011 budget deal known as the Budget Control Act (BCA).”  -Fox News

MCCON-NELL LAUNCHES SURPRISE OFFENSIVE ON EPA
WashEx: “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McCon-nell said he plans to use a little-known, little-studied, little-used Clean Air Act clause to undercut a key element of the Environmental Protection Agency’s attempt to cut carbon emissions from power plants. The Kentucky Republican cited language in the Clean Air Act, the federal law under which the EPA is crafting its climate change regulation, that he said requires Congress to approve regional cap-and-trade plans and other compacts. That’s key because the EPA has touted multi-state plans as the best, most cost-efficient way to meet its proposed rule’s goals, and some states are planning to use that strategy.”

Freddie Gray Investigation Handed Over to Prosecutors
Baltimore city officials are mum after the police department handed its investigation into the death of Freddie Gray over to state prosecutors Thursday, a day before they said the investigation would be completed. The public still doesn't know the details surrounding the 25-year-old's death. Maryland State Attorney Marilyn Mosby said, "While we have and will continue to leverage the information received by the department, we are not relying solely on their findings but rather the facts that we have gathered and verified. We ask for the public to remain patient and peaceful and to trust the process of the justice system." Prosecutors will decide whether or not to bring charges against the six police officers who are currently suspended from the Baltimore police force.
Meanwhile, the likes of Al Sharpton are in Baltimore, and they will not be satisfied if the prosecutors' decision doesn't go their way. Daniel Henninger writes in The Wall Street Journal, "When Al Sharpton popularized the chant, 'No justice, no peace,' it was unmistakably clear that 'no peace' was an implicit threat of civil unrest. Not civil disobedience, as practiced by Martin Luther King Jr. Civil unrest." Now is the time for conservatives to focus on ways to rebuild Baltimore to counter Sharpton's race baiting and give residents better paths to prosperity. More...  -The Patriot Post

In Campaign, Hilly Clinton Distances Herself From Bill
On April 29, Hilly Clinton stood before an audience at Columbia University and criticized America's criminal justice system, the system her husband helped create in 1994 with the passage of his Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. "We have allowed our criminal justice system to get out of balance," Ms. Clinton said. "And these recent tragedies [in Baltimore and Ferguson] should galvanize us to come together as a nation to find our balance again." This is not the only instance where Hilly has positioned herself directly opposing the legislation and policies that her husband's administration instituted some 20 years before. Bill signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law; Hilly now says same-sex marriage is a constitutional right. Bill's administration repealed the Glass-Steagall Act; Hilly wants it restored. The Washington Free Beacon reports that this distancing extends all the way to edits of Hilly's official campaign bio. In 2008, her biography said "she followed her heart and a man named Bill Clinton to Arkansas" instead of pursuing a career at a big law firm. Eight years later, Clinton's bio now says she skipped the big-law career path because she wanted to fight for children and families at the Children's Defense Fund. With all the revisions, it seems Hilly only kept the name "Clinton" for the name recognition. More...

Clinton Charities Raked in Millions of Taxpayer Dollars
(Elizabeth Harrington) - The Clinton Foundation and its major health charity have raked in more than $7 million from the U.S. government in recent years, according to an analysis of public records conducted by the Washington Free Beacon...The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), chaired by Bill Clinton and run by the former president’s long-time associate Ira Magaziner, has received $6,010,898 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since 2010. CHAI, the biggest arm of the Clinton family’s charitable efforts, accounting for 60 percent of all spending, received $3,193,500 in fiscal years 2010, 2011, and 2012, according to federal contracts, during Hilly Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.  Reps King And Brooks Angry After Six GOP Sellouts Votes
(rickwells.us) - On Wednesday the House Armed Services Committee approved an amendment by Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2016 that gives backhanded approval to the illegal violation of immigration law being committed by Hussein nObama...his henchman Jeh Johnson of DHS, and the unfortunate Americans in that department who are forced to choose between obeying the law, defending our nation and their careers. Six sellout RINOs joined with Democrats in a 33-30 vote in favor of the amendment which “encourages” the Secretary of Defense to waive military enlistment requirements for illegal aliens who receive sanctuary from their lawbreaking under the lawbreaking of the occupant of the White House. DACA protected illegal aliens would be treated in a manner similar to that which would have been prescribed under the DREAM Act if it had passed. Since it didn’t pass, those in the minority have apparently found a way to circumvent the wishes of the majority, placing a tacit stamp of approval on the unconstitutional acts of the “president.” Six pro-lawbreaking Republican Congressmen voted with their always anti-American Democrat counterparts in support of the amendment. The six who conveniently forgot which country they supposedly represent are Mike Coffman of Colorado, Chris Gibson of New York, Frank A. LoBiondo of New Jersey, Thomas MacArthur of New Jersey, Martha E.  Illegal Muslim ‘migrants’ set up camps in central Paris
(themuslimissue.wordpress.com) - You think you would be safe walking through that area at night? Think again. Calais, Lampedusa, Ceuta and Melilla have turned into total crime ghettos where people have lost their safety...the value of their homes and land, their everything. All due to EU complacency. After all, the left-wing Eurocrats don’t have to put up with anything. They get exaggerated high salaries, chauffeur driven cars, generous bonus packages, pay no tax, and are provided security should they need to. The concerns of the rest of society is not even real to them. This is ridiculous. The French are a pest. They are a constant problem bringing in more and more Muslim immigrants. Who will provide security against all the rape, the assaults, the riots, the arsons, the threats, the terrorism? Africa is a HUGE continent, larger than all of Europe combined. It is also a booming economy with massive Chinese investment capitals building infrastructure and trade. Are the French so uneducated they want to convince us that all of Africa is on fire and doesn’t have a single square mile fpr these people to be “safe” on? There is absolutely nowhere else in Africa these people can go to?? Seriously? Its completely ridiculous to house a single one of these people in France at all.  'Freedom to worship' – nObama's next bait & switch
(Bob Unruh) - Early in President nObama’s tenure in the White House, Catholic Online and other media outlets reported what appeared to be a deliberate attack on the Constitution’s “freedom of religion” protections...The report noted a crucial change in nObama’s language between his June 2009 speech in Cairo, Egypt, where he spoke of a Muslim America and its “freedom of religion,” to the November 2009 memorial for the Fort Hood soldiers gunned down by a radical Muslim, where he termed it “freedom of worship.” From that point on, “freedom of worship” has become the term of choice, the report said. Now, the Daily Signal reports, the federal government has been using the term “freedom of worship” instead of the constitutional “freedom of religion” when it tests immigrants who wish to become citizens on their knowledge of the Constitution.

New move to strip federal courts of marriage cases
(Greg Corombos) - As the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on whether states have the right to define marriage as they see fit and whether to recognize same-sex marriage performed in other states, one congressman is looking to take the issue away from the courts altogether...Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is sponsoring the “Restrain Judges on Marriage Act of 2015.” “If my bill becomes law, then the states will make the decision from that point forward on marriage,” King said. “Any enforcement funds would also be blocked. In the end, states would decide what marriage is. There are only two questions: What is marriage, and who’s going to decide?” He argued, “Not nine judges, or more likely five of nine judges, but the people need to make a decision on marriage.”       http://www.wnd.com/2015/05/new-move-to-strip-federal-courts-of-marriage-cases/

However consideration of moving to the federal exchanges has to wait until after next months Supreme Court decision about whether people who signed up to those exchanges are electable for the same subsidies dictated by the ACA as those who live in states with their own healthcare marketplace. The Supreme Court will decide by the end of June whether consumers in the 34 states using the federal exchange will be barred from receiving subsidies to buy insurance.

(Charles Hoskinson) - Iran would have enough enriched uranium within three months to be able to make up to eight nuclear weapons if negotiations with the international community blow up, Vice President loose lips Joe Biden said late Thursday, noting that "the path has already been paved" for that outcome...loose lips Biden's remarks at a dinner for the Washington Institute for Near East Policy played off concerns by critics, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that the nObama administration is negotiating an agreement that paves the path for Iran to get a nuclear weapon. "Let's get something straight so we don't kid each other," loose lips Biden said. "They already have paved a path to a bomb's worth of material. Iran could get there now if they walked away in two to three months without a deal."       http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/biden-path-has-already-been-paved-to-iranian-bomb/article/2563872?utm_campaign=Conservative%20Inbox:%20Top%205&utm_source=Conservative%20Inbox:%20Top%205%20-%2005/01/15&utm_medium=email

What Every Christian Needs To Know About Islam
(shoebat.com) - This is something that  Hiliare belloc the great English Historian of the 20th Century had prophetically states in his work  “the great Heresies”. In this book written in the late 1930’s he states that “Millions of modern people of the white civilization—that is, the civilization ofEurope and America—have forgotten all about Islam...They have never come in contact with it. They take for granted that it is decaying, and that, anyway, it is just a foreign religion which will not concern them. It is, as a fact, the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had, and may at any moment become as large a menace in the future as it has been in the past. The suggestion that Islam may re-arise sounds fantastic but this is only because men are always powerfully affected by the immediate past: one might say that they are blinded by it. “ The fact that most of the Mohammedans are mainly located in the far east is because the people known as today’s  “Arabs”, from whom Islamic religion spread,  were descendents of Ishmael, the son of Abraham who was born of the slave woman agar to whom God said he would multiply her seed. This is why the Ishmael is recognized as a prophet in the Islamic Religion (he is placed after Abraham but before Isaac). These sons of Agar dwelt on the Arabian peninsula and were roughly divided between a nomadic and a more or less urban oasis culture.       http://shoebat.com/2015/05/02/what-every-christian-needs-to-know-about-islam/

Israel Will Attack Iran Soon
Alan Caruba
Iran%2BNuke%2B%2BSites.jpg
.
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - The Israelis will destroy several Iranian nuclear facilities and my educated guess is that they will do so before the end of this year.
.
Israel has no margin of error when it comes to nuclear reactors in nations that threaten its existence. While President nObama does everything in his power to enable Iran to create its own nuclear weapons, it is a good idea to recall that in June 1981 the Israelis destroyed a reactor in Iraq. It was the first air strike against such a facility. In September 2007, the Israelis destroyed a Syrian reactor. There was no reprisal in either case.
.
From Wednesday, April 22 to Friday April 24 the Israelis struck Hizbollah and Syrian military targets in the Walamoun Mountains on the Syrian-Lebanese border. The calculations were that the location, a site for long-range missiles, would be safer from the Israelis. They were wrong.
.
In September 2014, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United Nations General Assembly warning “don’t be fooled by Iran’s manipulative charm offensive. It’s designed for one purpose and for one purpose only. To lift the sanctions and remove the obstacles to Iran’s path to the bomb.”
.
“Once Iran produces atomic bombs, all the charm and all the smiles will suddenly disappear. They’ll just vanish. It’s then that the ayatollahs will show their true face and unleash their aggressive fanaticism on the entire world.” He offered a comparable message to a joint meeting of Congress in March of this year.
.
Is anyone listening? Not President nObama. On April 25, writing in The Wall Street Journal, Mortimer Zuckerman, the chairman and editor in chief of the U.S. News and World Report, said “President nObama has been chasing a rainbow in his negotiations with Iran. He has forsaken decades of pledges to the civilized world from presidents of both parties. He has misled the American people in repeatedly affirming that the U.S. would never allow revolutionary Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.”
.
It’s bad enough when you can’t trust your nation’s enemies, but when you cannot trust your own President you have a very big problem because Iran is not just a threat to America and Israel, but to the entire world.
.
nObama’s anti-Semitism is obvious to anyone paying the least attention. He particularly loathes Israel. In early April the White House let its unhappiness be known that Netanyahu had, in its words, failed to tone down “hostile and aggressive language” of the Passover religious service. What were those words? “Next year in Jerusalem.”
.
This is an ancient Jewish prayer that sustained generations of Jews over the course of two millennia, expressing their hope to return to their homeland. To the White House, however, it was “affront to the Palestinians, not to mention a slap in the face to President nObama himself who has worked tirelessly for peace despite Israeli intransigence.” The Jews returned to Israel, declared its independence in 1948, and have had the support of every President since…until nObama.
.
Israel%2Btank.jpg
The Israelis know this. Since their independence the Israelis have fought seven recognized wars, two Palestinian intifadas, and a series of armed conflicts in the broader Arab-Israeli conflict. Most recently they put down Hamas in the Gaza once again for its repeated rocketing.
.
Despite or because of this, the Israelis have sought to demonstrate good will toward their Arab neighbors. There is an untold story of the December 2014 meeting of six Gulf Cooperation Council rulers in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss steps to respond to challenges that include Iranian aggression and clamping down on the Muslim Brotherhood.
.
Sources close to event report that Netanyahu has achieved close coordination with the most important Arab leaders that include Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Other members of the Council include Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
.
The Israelis have no choice, nor do I anticipate that Iran will do much, if anything, to respond in the wake of the ashes of those facilities. No other nation will come to their aid.

The Phenomenon of Mass Amnesia in the United States on Election Day

Is it just my overactive imagination, or possibly an age induced slow deafness, or is the voice of the people in the United States Eerily quiet?

I can say in my opinion the day Obama stepped into the White House is the day the people of the United States lost its sight. I waited for the next election with the sinking feeling that some sort of supernatural force had taken hold of the people of the US, after all he had done, after all his failures, after he showed us his true colors, Obama was somehow going to be elected to another term as President, it seemed to be just happening, like the American people woke up on election day and experienced amnesia.

I remember feeling defeated and in a way fearful. I was watching my country fall into the abyss. Watching the independent, proud, and patriotic American people fall in line like lambs to the slaughter. It felt eerily like predestination, I was thinking to myself what else could it be, after all we have seen and we would still re-elect this man!

How many of us since the re-election of Obama walk around with a feeling of doom in our hearts, knowing something VERY bad is coming? I know I do. I can honestly say that I have never felt so insecure and frightened in my life.

The situation in the Middle East has become worse and worse, innocent people are dying every day because of their beliefs, people are being detained, tortured and some executed for imagined infractions. ISIL is gaining ground every day with a US president who refuses to see them as terrorists, essentially ignoring what is happening knowing full well with his personal knowledge and background regarding Islam, what the nature of these people is, and the history of Islam. They do not come into a society to live side by side peacefully, they seek the utter annihilation of any person or nation not practicing ISLAM. As they head for the doorstep of Israel Obama chooses to suddenly become a nation that turns a blind eye, to turn our once respected and at times feared nation into a country other nations snicker about, a nation now viewed as a non-threat.. Russia no longer fears us or respects us and sees an open doorway to being a dominating power in the new world order.

Iran see’s us a fools to be lead to the slaughter and ISIL infiltrates us, steals our youth who see that their country no longer has a cause, feels no patriotism, and has no pride in its moral values, because we no longer have any!

Children, now adults whom have had no direction, who have had no discipline because it’s illegal. Parents with their hands tied by a government who believes they are entitled to tell us how to raise our children and take them away for any reason, even a lie. Read how many people have had their children stolen by protective services with no proof and trials that look like a side show!

For example the woman in Baltimore slapping the crap out of her son. Granted he deserved it and more, more power to her!!!  Maybe if parents in America were able to instill discipline and morals without fear of jail time as our children grow, parents would not be facing their child being a part of a riot!

What has America become?

  • A country that accepts the unacceptable and forces others to do so also under the guise of Laws and protections.

  • A country tired of war but unable to fully comprehend the consequences should we continue to pretend terrorists are not terrorist and previously hateful and threatening countries are now our friend!!

We are slowly becoming a nation that is so blind to the slow demoralization and desecration of our nation, of our values, of our strengths, we are failing to see a possible future like that of Germany under the rule of Hitler, or a Syria and Iraq were beheaded heads are held for all to see by children. A nation ripe for the plucking and destined for destruction by an evil we cannot comprehend.

I realize there are people who believe Israel seeks war but the fact is , they are a country who knows what it means to be afraid to walk in the streets wondering when the next missile will strike, they know no matter what they will never know peace, Islam has never allowed them peace. They believe in a strong moral fiber, they believe in military training of their youth, teaching them responsibility and courage at a young age. They believe in facing truth and threat and they seek to defend their country and their peoples. They know what terrorism is and the mindset of these terrorist, there is no peace with them, they do not seek peace, they seek world domination, all others are nothing more than vermin to be squashed under their boots!! For Israel to believe otherwise would be their annihilation. Israel could give them everything they want and they would destroy them in a day!!Has anyone ever read the Koran? I have and have no doubt they seek nothing more than the destruction of anyone who is not Islam!!!

DAMAGED GOODS NO BARGAIN FOR DEMOCRATS
Another day, another revelation of ethical misconduct in Clintonland. This time it’s the Boston Globe’s discovery that the largest single non-profit group in the Clinton network utterly ignored the disclosure agreement that Hilly Clinton promised would be a bulwark against corruption during her tenure as secretary of state. Foreign donations exploded during Clinton’s tenure as America’s chief diplomat, but her organization said nothing about it. At the same time, we are learning more about the astronomical overhead in the Clinton family’s charitable network. So it is no wonder that Politico reports that the donors who have funded the multi-billion-dollar enterprise – the kind of folks who go on whirlwind Africa tours with Bill Clinton – are getting queasy about the new scrutiny and the serial improprieties. Their world is shrinking down to folks like billionaire Tom Steyer, who openly embrace the Washington cash-for-influence game.
So what’s a conscientious liberal to do? The GOP is out of the question. Republicans are tumbling over themselves to seek the favor of the super PAC donor whales who are preparing to fund potentially hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of red-on-red attack ads in the coming months. This isn’t a big problem for GOP voters, though, since the members of the party widely oppose restrictions on political spending. But for liberal Democrats, these are famine times. The wife of a former president is preparing to claim by regal right their party’s nomination. She is mired in a scandal that involves boatloads of cash from unseemly sources, the violation of basic transparency standards and the destruction of huge troves of documents. To go from “hope and change” back to “no controlling legal authority” is a far fall indeed. But there’s nothing else to be done, right?
Wrong, say liberals. A fake primary is just what’s in order. While Matt Taibbi isquite right that Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is about as real as it gets in Washington, the response to his declaration for president has been as phony as the bust lines at a Georgetown brunch. Others are still touting “the virtual candidate” Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and her supposed ability to make the Clintons compliant. (Because people who were not bound by bulletproof language in disclosure agreements drafted by teams of lawyers can be counted on to honor backroom deals with rival politicians… ) But Sanders is really running and he is driven by a righteous ideological fire, sort of a Rick Santorum of the left – a Jeremiah warning his party of the dangers of falling away from the faith of its fathers.
Millions of pixels are being poured out about how Sanders could make things “interesting” and “shape the Democratic race.” Some of this is the lamentable but understandable product of beat writers looking for any hook on which to hang a necessary long-shot-candidate-declares write. Some of it seems sincere. Consider Jill Lawrence who is ecstatic over “an explosion of substance” on the Democratic side. Well… Yes, Clinton gave a policy talk (in which she repudiated policies set in place by her husband but without explaining any part of her head-snapping reversal), but the Democratic race still isn’t one.
Imagine if on this date the only declared candidate standing athwart Jeb Bush’s drive to the nomination was Santorum. How would Republicans feel? That’s the sinking feeling that will be setting in for Democrats over the months to come. The enormous empire built by the Clintons – plus the consequences to the party’s bench from successive midterm waves – has scared everyone out of the field except for a Jeremiah and, perhaps, a couple of guys who don’t appeal to the party’s base. Liberal Democrats may like the idea of a phony primary that nudges Clinton on ideology, but shadowboxing with a socialist senator from Vermont who is six years older than the 67-year-old presumptive nominee won’t keep Clinton busy, even for six weeks. With no race, there’s no interest. With no interest, there’s no pressure.
Reform-minded Democrats are looking for a way to make it right to coronate the woman who has more fully inhabited the Washington establishment than perhaps any national politician of her generation. Good luck in your rationalizing.  -Fox News

THE JUDGE’S RULING: ROUNDHEADS ON THE POTOMAC
Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano looks back to the dark days of Oliver Cromwell to underscore that the Constitution is designed to not only to prevent the perception but also to prevent the reality of the tyranny of one man’s opinion: “President Barack nObama has rejected not only the theory but also the practice of due process by his use of drones launched by the CIA to kill Americans and others overseas.”

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE
Researchers and scientists announced that they found remains of the first feathered dinosaur in North America, reports Discover magazine. Though the fossils found do not have an individual name yet they are part of the Ornithomimus family meaning they look similar to the modern-day ostrich. The discovery caused a stir in the paleontology world, but gave more questions than answers, particularly on the purpose for the feathers since feathered dinosaurs are not thought to fly. A floated theory is that they used them as means of communication, or momentum when running on the ground. Regardless of the purpose, researchers are already hot on the chase for more feathered dinosaurs and the purpose for the additional feature.

Sex, Poetry, and the Great Beyond
(Micah Mattix) - Two years before he died, James Merrill (1926-1995) published his memoir, A Different Person, in which he tells how the son of Charles E. Merrill (co-founder of Merrill Lynch) and an increasingly religious mother became a cosmopolitan gay poet...It’s not a score-settling work, and Merrill is his usual light, witty self, but he is also unashamedly direct about the “polymorphous abundance” of the backstreets of Italy and Greece. “It was a truth universally acknowledged in those innocent decades from 1950 to 1980,” Merrill wrote, “that a stable homosexual couple would safely welcome the occasional extramarital fling.” And flings there were. While Merrill was in a long-term relationship with David Jackson, the two regularly slept with other men. When Frederick Buechner read it, he was “appalled” by “the loneliness and sadness and seediness of it all.” Buechner was Merrill’s closest friend at the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and would go on to become a Presbyterian minister and an accomplished novelist. The two did not see each other much after Lawrenceville, but they remained on good terms. Still, Buechner was “unprepared” for “the sexual adventures” of Merrill’s life—“the one-night stands, the furtive assignations in Roman latrines, the affairs within affairs, the sheer abundance of lovers.”       http://freebeacon.com/culture/sex-poetry-and-the-great-beyond/

There Is No Right To Illegal Immigration Anywhere In The World
(rickwells.us) - Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is making efforts to heal some of the damage that was done to his image and his political career with conservatives as the result of his involvement with the gang of eight immigration and amnesty bill...On Friday he clarified his current position, stating that immigrants are only allowed to be in this country if they entered legally. That is a position and logic which would have been too obvious to have been worthy of a statement only a few years ago but one which now is in dispute under our compromised federal legal system. At a National Review NRI Ideas Summit in Washington DC, Rubio went on the record, saying, “You don’t have a right to illegally immigrate here.” He added, “One of the problems I have with the groups out there that are advocating for immigration reform, some of them, is they approach this debate with the argument that they have the right to be here. It’s not a right. There is no right to illegally immigrate anywhere in the world.” That goes for Muslims as well.

Clinton Foundation’s Defenses Continue to Unravel
(Bob Adelmann) - The growing public awareness and outrage at the seeming fraud, deceit, and obfuscation at the Clinton Foundation, where more than 1,100 donors weren’t disclosed, violating an agreement Hilly Clinton made with the White House prior to taking over as secretary of state in 2008, continues to build...At the forefront and in the public's headlights for the moment is the case of Frank Giustra, which we commented on in a previous article: In a nutshell, former president Bill Clinton helped Frank Giustra, the owner of a Canadian uranium company, sell his company to a Russian company, Rosatrom, giving Soviet President Vladimir Putin virtual control of at least 20 percent of the world’s known uranium reserves, many of them in the United States. Following the completion of the deal, Giustra poured more than $30 million into the Clinton Foundation. In response to the public condemnation, the foundation tried to rally. The foundation’s acting chief executive Maura Pally wrote at its website: http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/crime/item/20778-clinton-foundation-s-defenses-continue-to-unravel?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_campaign=4834156ee9-The_Editors_Top_Picks_3_12_143_12_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8ca494f2d2-4834156ee9-289778381

Israel’s military edge at risk as nObama to placate Arab fears
(timesofisrael.com) - The nObama administration is said to be “scrambling” to find ways to reassure Arab allies that it is not abandoning them, despite the imminent nuclear deal with Iran...To that end, it is considering a range of options such as weapons sales that might reduce Israel’s hitherto sacrosanct military edge, the New York Times reported Friday, including selling the F-35 fighter jet to the United Arab Emirates. Among the options cited by the paper as being under consideration: A defense pact under which the US would commit “to the defense of Arab allies if they come under attack from outside forces”; joint training missions for American and Arab military forces; designating Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as “major non-NATO allies,” a step that would loosen restrictions on weapons sales and offer “a number of military advantages that are available only to NATO allies”; and approving the sale of its advanced F-35 stealth fighter to the UAE three years after it is delivered to Israel. Boy he is screwing things up for sure for the next president.        http://www.timesofisrael.com/israels-military-edge-at-risk-as-obama-scrambles-to-placate-arab-fears-on-iran-deal/?utm_source=The+Times+of+Israel+Daily+Edition&utm_campaign=e7d98a6083-2015_05_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_adb46cec92-e7d98a6083-54638825

 How Democracies Decay
(Burak Bekdil) - "That Turkey sounds to me like the late Weimar Republic. So I would have no difficulty at all in agreeing that the logics of certain possibilities are being put together in ways that seem very reminiscent to the broader context of right-wing thought in Weimar Republic, especially after 1930."...Thus commented Geoff Eley, a British-born historian whose early work focused on the radical nationalism in Imperial Germany, and, in Italy, fascism. It is a powerful analogy showing how theoretically "democratic" Turkey is moving in the same direction as Germany's Weimar Republic did after1933. Historians often refer to Germany's federal republic and semi-presidential representative democracy, which in 1919 replaced imperial rule, as the Weimar Republic.       http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/5586/turkey-democracy-decay

 “Tiny Minority” of Terror-Supporting Muslims?
(David Meir-Levi) - By obfuscating the reality of the terrorists’ motivations and intentions, and minimizing the threat that they pose to the USA and to western civilization, nObama is helping the terrorists and hampering his own country. Helping the enemy in wartime is treason...There is, however, one grain of truth in his benighted pronouncements about dignity, hope, and jobs: Isis et al do not speak for all Muslims. It is reasonable to assume that not every one of the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world today is actively or passively participatory or supportive of the Muslim jihadist terror organizations. But for just how many Muslims does ISIS speak? Debunking nObama's
Bilious Baltimore Babble

Michelle Malkin
.
(freedomsback.com) - It’s never enough. American taxpayers have surrendered billions and billions and billions of dollars to the social-justice-spender-in-chief. But it’s never, ever enough.
.
The latest paroxysm of urban violence, looting, and recriminations in Baltimore prompted President nObama on Tuesday to trot out his frayed Blame The Callous, Tight-Fisted Republicans card. After dispensing with an obligatory wrist-slap of toilet paper-and Oreo-filching “protesters” who are burning Charm City to the ground (he hurriedly changed it to “criminals and thugs” mid-word), the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner got down to his usual business: hectoring his political opponents and grousing that America hasn’t forked over enough money for him to make the “massive investments” needed to “make a difference right now.”
.
If we are “serious” about preventing more riots, the president declared, then “the rest of us” (translation: all of us stingy conservatives) have to make sure “we are providing early education” and “making investments” so that inner-city youths are “getting the training they need to find jobs.”
.
Narcissus on the Potomac wheedled that “there’s a bunch of my agenda that would make a difference right now.” Me, me, me! His laundry list of the supposedly underfunded cures that he can’t get through Congress includes “school reform,” “job training” and “some investments in infrastructure” to “attract new businesses.”
.
I’ll give POTUS credit: He can lay it on thicker than a John Deere manure spreader. . Let’s talk “massive investments,” shall we?
.
In 2009, nObama and the Democrats rammed the $840 billion federal stimulus package through Capitol Hill under the guise of immediate job creation and economic recovery. An estimated $64 billion went to public school districts; another nearly $50 billion went for other education spending. This included $13 billion for low-income public school kids; $4.1 billion for Head Start and childcare services; $650 million for educational technology; $200 million for working college students; and $70 million for homeless children.
.
How’s that all working out? Last week, economists from the St. Louis Federal Reserve surveyed more than 6,700 education stimulus recipients and concluded that for every $1 million of stimulus grants to a district, a measly 1.5 jobs were created. “Moreover, all of this increase came in the form of nonteaching staff,” the report found, and the “jobs effect was also not statistically different from zero.”
.
More than three-quarters of the jobs “created or saved” in the first year of the stimulus were government jobs, while roughly 1 million private sector jobs were forestalled or destroyed, according to Ohio State University. President nObama later admitted “there was no such thing” as “shovel-ready projects.” But there were plenty of pork-ready recipients, from green energy billionaires to union bosses to Democratic campaign finance bundlers. About $230 billion in porkulus funds was set aside for infrastructure projects, yet less than a year later, nObama was back asking for another $50 billion to pour down the infrastructure black hole.
.
In 2010, President nObama signed the so-called Edujobs bill into law — a $26 billion political wealth redistribution scheme paying back Big Labor for funding Democratic congressional campaigns. A year later, several were spending on the money to plug budget shortfalls instead of hiring teachers. Other recipients received billions despite having full educational payrolls and not knowing what to do with the big bucks.
.
In 2012, with bipartisan support, nObama signed the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act “to encourage startups and support our nation’s small businesses.”
.
In July 2014, with bipartisan support, nObama signed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to “help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.” (Never mind that a GAO review of the feds’ existing 47 job-training programs run by nine different agencies “generally found the effects of participation were not consistent across programs, with only some demonstrating positive impacts that tended to be small, inconclusive or restricted to short-term impacts.”)
.
In December 2014, the White House unveiled nearly $1 billion in new “investments” to “expand access to high-quality early childhood education to every child in America” from “birth and continuing to age 5.”
.
That’s all on top of the $6 billion government-funded national service and education initiative known as the SERVE America Act, which was enacted less than a month after the nearly $1 trillion stimulus with the help of a majority of Big Government Senate Republicans. The SERVE America Act included $1.1 billion to increase the investment in national service opportunities; $97 million for Learn and Serve America Youth Engagement Zones; and nearly $400 million for the Social Innovation Fund and Volunteer Generation Fund.
.
The “social innovation” slush fund was intended to “create new knowledge about how to solve social challenges in the areas of economic opportunity, youth development and school support, and healthy futures, and to improve our nation’s problem-solving infrastructure in low-income communities.” The biggest beneficiaries? nObama’s progressive cronies.
 .
Apparently, the richly funded “social innovators” haven’t reached the looter-prone neighborhoods of Baltimore yet. But it’s not ideologically bankrupt nObama’s fault. It’s ours.

Jihadists Attack Texas Art Exhibit of Muhammad Images

The kind of terror jihadists unleashed when they attacked the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris because the paper mocked Muhammad came to Texas Sunday night. But instead of a massacre, the two attackers were killed by Garland, Texas, police officers. The American Freedom Defense Initiative held an art exhibit and contest for images of Muhammad at Garland’s Curtis Culwell Center. On Twitter, followers of the Islamic State were writing their threats. One wrote last week, “Brothers in Garland Texas Please go to there with your weapons, bombs or with your knives. Threaten your enemies & the enemies of Allaah [sic].” The event was wrapping up around 7 p.m. when suspected jihadist Elton Simpson of Arizona drove up to the event with his roommate and opened fire. The duo wounded unarmed Garland ISD officer Bruce Joiner in the ankle before police officers returned fire. The American Freedom Defense Initiative paid $10,000 to hire 40 officers to provide extra security. President of the group Pamela Geller said in February, “That’s what we call the high cost of freedom.” Indeed, the Garland attack shows how the freedom of expression is protected from an assassin’s veto only with the Second Amendment. More…

Are the Charges Against the Baltimore Officers an Overreach?

The six police officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray have been tried in the court of public opinion and have been found guilty. Marilyn Mosby, who is three months into her job as Baltimore City State’s Attorney, threw the book at the six officers, pinning charges ranging from second degree depraved heart murder to second degree assault to false imprisonment. But those may be inflated charges carried along by the rhetoric of rioters in Baltimore’s streets, as Hot Air’s Jazz Shaw points out. As Mosby said at the press conference announcing the charges: “To the people of Baltimore and demonstrators across America, I heard your call for ‘No Justice, No peace.’” Furthermore, Mosby has connections that may become conflicts of interest. For example, she has a professional and personal relationship with Gray’s family lawyer. The Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police believed so strongly that an injustice was being committed with Mosby’s overreach on charges, it wrote an open letter. “None of the officers involved are responsible for the death of Mr. Gray,” president of the order Gene Ryan wrote. “To the contrary, at all times, each of the officers diligently balanced their obligations to protect Mr. Gray and discharge their duties to protect the public.” In overcharging the officers, Mosby may have simply embittered a mob that will break out in violence if it doesn’t receive what it demands.

Carson, Fiorina, Huckabee Announce Presidential Campaigns

This is the week for the idealists in the Republican presidential primary, the long shots, the Washington outsiders and the underdogs. Three GOP contenders have stepped out onto the field and, while they face a long climb to become regarded among the front running candidates, their campaigns could influence the party as a whole.

Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard who could become the Right’s answer to Hillary Clinton, announced her campaign from social media. “Our nation is at a pivotal point,” Fiorina said in a video, “We need to restore possibilities for every American regardless of their circumstances.”

Meanwhile, Ben Carson, who was asked to be surgeon general by both George W. Bush and Barack Obama, said he would announce his campaign Monday. “Many people have suggested to me that I should run for president, even though I’m not a politician,” Carson said. “I began to ask myself, why are people clamoring for me to do this? … I’m not 100 percent sure politics as usual is going to save us.”

And former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will announce his second campaign for president Tuesday. Huckabee is expected to run on his record as governor and his political battles against the Clintons in Arkansas. He’s also likely to pull support from evangelical voters with his strong social conservative stance. With months to go, who knows? Maybe the GOP should pick a Washington outsider, a person who would be a contrast to Hillary Clinton’s baggage. More…

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS

Clinton: Religion Must Surrender to Progressive Ideology

By Arnold Ahlert

2015-05-04-c037aac5_large.jpg

There is little question the American Left is arrogant. It is an arrogance suffused with a self-aggrandizing worldview that begins and ends with the simplest premise: You either agree with us, or you’re wrong. But not just wrong in the sense of having a different opinion. Wrong in the sense that you’re a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal at best, or the embodiment of evil itself at worst. In other words, you’re either on board with us, or you’re completely illegitimate.

The above explanation fits Hillary Clinton to a tee. At the sixth annual Women in the World Summit, Clinton brought up one of the Left’s most cherished planks, abortion on demand. “Far too many women are denied access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth,” she insisted, “and laws don’t count for much if they’re not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice, not just on paper.”

One is left to wonder what denial of access Clinton bemoans. It can’t be Planned Parenthood (PP), an organization whose name completely belies its true function. As its 2013-2014 Annual Report reveals, PP received more than $528 million in taxpayer funds in the form of government grants, contracts and Medicaid reimbursements that accounted for 41% of its total resources. And despite its ostensible non-profit status, the abortion giant has $127 million in excess revenue and more than $1.4 billion in net assets.

Where does the money go? According to a fact sheet disseminated by the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, PP devoted 94% of 2013 “pregnancy services” to performing abortions. Prenatal care and adoption services accounted for 5% and 0.05% of its activities, respectively. Moreover, between the years 2011-2013 for which figures are available, PP performed 988,783 abortions.

PP chair Alexis McGill Johnson and president Cecile Richards couldn’t be happier. “We’ve come a long way since Margaret Sanger was jailed in 1916 for opening America’s very first birth control clinic,” they explained at the report’s release. “Today, 99 percent of sexually active American women at some point in their lives use birth control — and, thanks to Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act, more than 48 million women are now eligible to receive it with no copay.”

Sounds like a boatload of access, at least to “reproductive” health care. Safe childbirth? Not so much, a reality that deeply troubles people of faith — a group with this “crazy” notion that abortion constitutes the wrongful termination of a human life.

Not to worry, though. Hillary has a “solution” for their concerns. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will,” she declared. “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed. As I have said and as I believe, the advancement of the full participation of women and girls in every aspect of their societies is the great unfinished business of the 21st century and not just for women but for everyone — and not just in far away countries but right here in the United States.”

If that sounds like people of faith must either abandon that faith or be considered wholly illegitimate, or “structurally biased” as it were, it’s because that’s exactly what Clinton proposes. In short, you’re either pro-abortion or a “bitter clinger.” That euphemism entered the national zeitgeist courtesy of Barack Obama, whose administration has made it clear that the only thing standing between it and the evisceration of the First Amendment’s Freedom of Religion clause is a 5-4 Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby v. Burwell case. The Court decided corporations with sincerely held religious beliefs are under no obligation to provide a full range of contraceptives — including abortifacients — at no cost to their employees as mandated by ObamaCare.

Yet abortion is only one arena where people of faith are being steamrolled. As Solicitor General Donald Verrilli made clear during oral arguments before the Supreme Court on the subject of same-sex marriage, the heavy hand of government will be imposed on those who refuse to embrace progressive “values.” When asked by Justice Samuel Alito if the Obama administration would be willing to impose penalties on institutions that refuse to abide same-sex marriage, Verrilli admitted as much. “It’s certainly going to be an issue,” he conceded. “I don’t deny that.”

Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins spells out the inevitable, writing, “Translation: If churches, religious groups, schools, or nonprofits won’t surrender their beliefs on marriage, the government will make it hurt.” And regardless of what the Court decides, Justice Anthony Kennedy illuminated the stakes with a simple remark, noting the definition of marriage as between a man and a women “has been with us for millennia.” Therefore, he said, “[I]t’s very difficult for the Court to say, ‘Oh well, we know better.’”

Progressives have no such inhibitions. And that would be fine were it not for the reality that they are determined to forcibly impose their worldview by any means necessary on those who disagree.

How arrogant is Clinton in that regard? As recently as 2013 she opposed same-sex marriage, and in 2004 she called traditional marriage a “fundamental bedrock principle.” How hypocritical? “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic,” she huffed in 2003.

Not patriotic? Now if you disagree with the leftist onslaught, you’re a homophobic, religiously impaired bigot who must abandon millennia of traditional beliefs — or be deliberately targeted if you don’t.

Live and let live? A concept for which those who profess to be the most tolerant among us have zero tolerance. “Evolving” on issues as Clinton and Obama have on same-sex marriage? Embrace progressive ideology right now or be penalized in every way possible.

A number of Christian leaders are fighting back with a pledge defending traditional marriage. One of their reasons for doing so stands out. “Family is the first vital cell of society, the first government, and the first mediating institution of our social order,” the pledge states. “The future of a free and healthy society passes through marriage and the family.” Anyone else think this is a message that might resonate in Baltimore right about now?

One last thought regarding abortion: Perhaps the debate on the issue might be imbued with far more honesty if the phrase “a woman’s right to choose” included the first choice, as in the decision to have unprotected and/or irresponsible sex leading to an unwanted pregnancy.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Ken Blackwell: “Truth has long since been replaced by ‘narratives’ on the American Left. Rather than discuss genuine issues and objective facts, progressives prefer to make up a politically effective story. It doesn’t matter whether the story is false, as long as it sways the public’s emotions and wins the day. The ends justify the means…. [L]let’s look at one of the patron saints of environmentalism, Rachel Carson. Carson wanted to eliminate DDT, the most effective pesticide for fighting one of the greatest plagues faced by humanity, malaria, because it was weakening the shells of bird’s eggs. So Carson falsified data to convince the public that DDT was carcinogenic. Carson brought about a global ban on DDT, probably saving a few birds, but at the cost of allowing malaria to blind or kill millions of people in the Third World. Carson may not have set out to kill people, but only Mao, Stalin and Hitler are responsible for more deaths during the twentieth century. Yet instead of condemning her, we name schools after her. … [I]t’s difficult to come up with a progressive scientific cause that isn’t founded on lies.”

Braying Jackass: “In countries in Scandinavia like Denmark, Norway, Sweden, they are very democratic countries. … In those countries, health care is the right of all people; college education and graduate school is free; retirement benefits, child care are stronger than the United States of America. In those countries by and large government works for ordinary people and the middle class, rather than, as is the case right now in our country, for the billionaire class.” —Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' vision for America

Village Idiots: “We need the Justice Department to step in and take over policing in this country. In the 20th century they had to fight states' rights in — to get the right to vote. We’re going to have to fight states' rights in terms of closing down police cases.” —Al Sharpton

And here we go folks…the federal government, under the watchful eye of the Obama regime, will now boldly go where they shouldn’t…into local municipal police departments and the tactic being employed will surely lead to grabbing power away from local law enforcement in exactly the same way the feds managed to grab land from the states as outlined in our ‘Land Grab’ series.

Obama is set to award some $20 million dollars in federal grants to local police departments for the purpose of buying body cams for officers and that’s just the beginning. The total package of this ‘gift’ to local law enforcement is $75 million dollars and it seems to have the backing of Congress.

SHOULD local law enforcement officers be outfitted with body cams? Yes.

Should they be glad-handing to the federal government for the funds?

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE
The long, cold winter covered much of Lake Michigan with sheets of ice, but now that the ice has retreated the water is remarkably clear. (The cold held back seasonal algae blooms that make the water murky in warmer weather.) As a result, the many shipwrecks that dot the floor of the second largest of the Great Lakes are visible through the blue waters. NPR reports: “Photos from the flight out of the Coast Guard’s Traverse City, Mich., air station show a variety of ships resting on the lake bottom, including the James McBride, a 121-foot brig that sank in 1857. … ‘An estimated 6,000 vessels were lost on the Great Lakes with approximately 1,500 of these ships located in Michigan waters,’ according to the state Department of Environmental Quality, which calls the wrecks ‘irreplaceable records of our cultural history.’”  -Fox News

First Quarter GDP Is a Harsh Reality Check
Other than the first quarter, last year was a better year for the economy. After contracting 2.1% to start off 2014, GDP jumped to 4.6% in the second quarter and 5% in the third quarter before slipping to 2.2% to round out the year. So, how's 2015 looking so far? Well, chilly — literally, according to Democrats. TheCommerce Department released initial numbers for the first quarter of 2015, and, at a sluggish 0.2%, GDP once again tempered America's level of economic enthusiasm. And the "worse-than-expected" downtrend is inevitably being blamed on winter weather woes. Jason Furman, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said this latest estimate "was likely affected by notably harsh winter weather" — interesting considering we're supposedly coming off the warmest year on record and had a record warm start to 2015. It's also the same recycled excuse they used last year.
Moreover, as Nick Timiraos of The Wall Street Journal reminds us, revisions knocked last year's initial first quarter growth down by a staggering two percentage points — from 0.1% to -2.1%. Is a repeat in the offing? Yesterday's report continues a familiar trend under the nObama recovery — a roller coaster ride that features some signs of life along with harsh reality checks. Stability and sustainability are still lacking in the economy, which will continue through at least 2017.  -The Patriot Post

Bernie Sanders Challenges Clinton for Democrat Nomination
At least the Democrat presidential primary got interesting. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the politician who described himself as a "democratic socialist" and who was described by the New York Times as an adherent to "that old-time religion" of populism, announced he is campaigning to win the Democrat Party's nomination as its presidential candidate. The politician that was once too far to the Left for the Democrat Party told the Associated Press, "People should not underestimate me. I've run outside of the two-party system, defeating Democrats and Republicans, taking on big-money candidates and, you know, I think the message that has resonated in Vermont is a message that can resonate all over this country." Right out of the gate, Sanders challenged Hilly Clinton's succession to the throne by bringing the progressive rhetoric that splits rich versus poor and capitalizes on income inequality. "What we have seen is that while the average person is working longer hours for lower wages," Sanders said, "we have seen a huge increase in income and wealth inequality, which is now reaching obscene levels." Between the two candidates, Clinton still seems the greater threat. Sanders appears more harmless than calculating, and a Sanders nomination will pull the Democrat Party further from middle America.  -The Patriot Post

Did Freddie Gray Try to Injure Himself in the Police Van?
If true, the death of Freddie Gray may not have anything to do with police brutality and more to do with an irrational man bent on self-harm. This in from The Washington Post: "A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray 'banging against the walls' of the vehicle and believed that he 'was intentionally trying to injure himself,' according to a police document obtained by The Washington Post." This story has the ring of truthiness about it, but is it really? Jazz Shaw writes at Hot Air that the prisoner could be an unreliable witness — similar to the witnesses that said Michael Brown had his hands up. Furthermore, Investigative Reporter at Baltimore's NBC affiliate TV station Jayne Miller said the Post's account contradicts what the Baltimore Police Commissioner said a week ago. At the time, he said the prisoner described Gray as "mostly quiet." The timeline is still being reconstructed. When we do get the complete and truthful story, what will happen if the rioters, who already destroyed much of Baltimore, do not get the conclusion for which they demanded?  -The Patriot Post

No, Riots Are Not a 'Legitimate Political Strategy'
Reading the liberal media, you'd think the Baltimore rioters are the reincarnation of Lexington and Concord's minutemen, bravely facing tyrants to defend their freedom. Well, Paul Revere might disagree. Somehow, ruining businesses and running off with condoms doesn't quite equate to Patrick Henry's speech "Give me Liberty or give me death." But the Left wants America to think it does.
A particularly absurd Salon headline this week reads, "Baltimore's violent protesters are right: Smashing police cars is a legitimate political strategy." The author's argument is that non-violence is "a tactic, not a philosophy" and that black communities are struggling against "premeditated economic exploitation." Riots are simply "reasonable responses to generations of extreme state violence, and logical decisions about what kind of actions yield the desired political results."
According to Fordham University sociology professor Heather Gautney, "Riots like the ones we are seeing in Baltimore … should be viewed as rational responses to injustice. Riots highlight the injustice and violence that's prevalent in impoverished neighborhoods in this country."
And BuzzFeed's Adam Serwer writes, "Violence — as harmful and self-destructive as it is — sometimes works." Serwer claims that, for 80 years, the "recipe for urban riots" has been largely the same: "(a)n impoverished and politically disempowered black population refused full American citizenship, a heavy-handed and overwhelmingly white police force, a generous amount of neglect, and frequently, the loss of black life at the hands of the police."  -The Patriot Post

Hilly Says "Every Life Matters" Not Unborn Babies
(Philip Hodges) - Recently, we reported about Hilly’s statement on people needing to change their religious beliefs to make way for abortion rights. She has quite a record when it comes to supporting abortion. According to LifeNews.com...Most recently, Hilly Clinton pushed abortion at a fundraising event in March. One year to the date after she received an award from the radical pro-abortion group Emily’s List, presidential candidate Hilly Clinton gave the keynote address last night at a fundraiser for the organization. Clinton’s speech came at the Emily’s List 30th Anniversary Conference and Gala in Washington, D.C. and she applauded the work of the abortion activists, who strongly support taxpayer funding of abortions and strongly oppose banning late-term abortions.        http://lastresistance.com/11414/hillary-says-every-life-matters-but-supports-murdering-unborn-babies/

This week, we received more news about apparent money laundering out of India; lies by Clinton, Inc. about more Putin-connected contributions out of Canada; and more cover-up from another Hilly operation that focused on health care. JW’s chief investigative reporter brought us up to date with more reporting about yet another Clinton front:       http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/weekly-updates/jw-sues-on-clinton-cover-up/

Media Bears Responsibility for the Violence
(leanrightamerica.org) - Tuesday morning, 23-year-old Jeremiah Matthews allegedly entered a Houston Wal-Mart, walked up to a female off-duty police officer, and attacked her with a knife...By the time bystander Abe Baker intervened, Matthews had stabbed April Pikes 14 times, leaving her alive but in danger of losing her right arm. According to investigators, he had carried out the attack “because police are oppressive.” Pikes was moonlighting as a security guard for the superstore when Matthews came at her with what witnesses described as a hunting knife. At a press conference that afternoon, a community activist spoke on behalf of the Matthews family. He confirmed that the assailant had a history of mental illness, and he also admitted that Matthews may have taken his cues from the situation in Baltimore surrounding the death of Freddie Gray. Investigators say that Matthews told them that brutal treatment from the police had driven him to the deed. Without question, Matthews deserves the blame for his actions. Anyone who engages in violence must accept responsibility for the consequences. That said, the media should take a close look at this case and turn the camera on themselves. When rioters destroy Ferguson, when “thugs” burn Baltimore, when a deranged individual kills New York City cops…the media bears some of the responsibility.       http://www.leanrightamerica.org/uncategorized/media-bears-responsibility-for-the-violence/

House Votes Down D.C. Pro-Abortion 'Discrimination' Law
(Tad Cronn) - Lawmakers in the House got up the nerve to strike down a law that pro-abortion groups want very badly...The law in question is the Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Amendment Act, and as you can figure from the euphemistic title, it’s about cramming the abortion agenda down Americans’ throats. The Left portrays the law as protecting pro-abortion workers (now there’s a class I never thought of as discriminated against) from discrimination in hiring because of their political views. It’s the old Left Wing tactic of infiltrate and change from within: Once you pack an opposing group with enough of your own people, just change the sign on the front door and complete the purge. It would almost be funny if it weren’t so serious. Think about it. Pro-abortion groups are advocates of the most serious and final form of discrimination, taking a child’s life simply for being an inconvenience.        http://politicaloutcast.com/2015/05/house-votes-down-d-c-pro-abortion-discrimination-law/

Hundreds of Muslim refugees headed to Idaho
(Leo Hohmann) - The multicultural transformation of Idaho will continue with a planned infusion of hundreds of refugees from Muslim countries over the next one to three years...A local newspaper in Twin Falls reported that city will receive 300 mostly Syrian refugees over the next fiscal year starting Oct. 1. But WND has learned the numbers will be much larger statewide and include refugees from Syria, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo and possibly Somalia. Sources tell WND that community leaders learned of the plans for up to 2,000 refugees at a recent conference at Boise State University attended by church groups, social services providers and other “stakeholders.”        http://www.wnd.com/2015/04/hundreds-of-muslim-refugees-headed-to-idaho/

Republicans Are Making a Big Mistake Trying to “Fix” nObamacare
(Onan Coca) - The Supreme Court may very well rule against nObamacare this summer, ending government subsidies for millions of Americans and forcing them to pay full cost for their healthcare needs...This would be a massive blow to the nObama administration and to the Democrat Party, but don’t worry, the GOP is trying to step in and save the day. For the Democrats that is. A group of Republicans Senators are planning to use the possible victory as leverage against the nObama administration in an effort to push the President to end the employer mandate and the individual mandate. At first blush, this seems like a great idea…. Except all this does is salvage nObamacare for another day. The GOP doesn’t think they can end nObamacare while nObama is still President, but a ruling that negates subsidies will end it for them. If the Supreme Court rules against nObamacare this summer, it will destroy any positive impact the nObama administration hoped it might have. The Democrats will scramble to come up with quick fixes to patch the holes, but to get those “fixes” passed into law, they’ll need Republican votes.       http://eaglerising.com/18005/republicans-making-big-mistake-trying-fix-obamacare/

Deportations Plummet As Officials Stop Enforcing Law
(fixthisnation.com) - According to a new report from the Associated Press, the nObama administration will deport fewer illegal immigrants this year than at any time in the last decade...As of April 20, immigration officials have deported only 127,378 illegals in 2015. If that pace continues, fewer immigrants will be deported this year than at any time since the George W. Bush administration. According to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, there are perfectly reasonable explanations behind the drop. He told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday that factors such as changing demographics and fewer arrests at the border have contributed to the decline. “With the resources we have,” he said, “I’m interested in focusing on criminals and recent illegal arrivals at the border.” In other words, he’s interested in carrying out President nObama’s executive actions, even though those actions have been frozen by a federal judge. This doesn’t have anything to do with changing demographics or fewer border arrests; it has to do with serving the president’s wishes.       http://www.fixthisnation.com/conservative-breaking-news/deportations-plummet-as-officials-stop-enforcing-law/

nObama’s Kenyan Family Has Disowned Him
(Bradford Thomas) - According to reports, President nObama’s Kenyan family has now completely “disowned him.”...The much-chronicled “complicated” relationship between nObama and his Kenyan family has reportedly utterly collapsed in the last few years, the family accusing him of turning a blind eye to them and only touting his Kenyan heritage for “political expediency.” As the NY Times noted in April 2014, though nObama consistently “distanced” himself from the family as president, his Kenyan heritage was a “powerful element” of his first presidential campaign, when he sold himself as “a candidate who connect different worlds,” even inviting a delegation of his African relatives to his 2009 inauguration. The relationship really melted down last year when nObama allegedly stonewalled the family over the funeral of nObama’s aunt Zaituni, which the president skipped in order to play another round of golf. This country should do the same.    http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/report-obamas-kenyan-family-has-disowned-him

FBI Links Chinese Government to Cyber Attacks on U.S. Companies
(Bill Gertz) - Computer hackers linked to the Chinese government used two Chinese telecom companies and the Baidu search engine to mount mass data disruption attacks on American websites involved in circumventing Beijing’s censors...According to a confidential FBI Flash alert sent to U.S. companies on Thursday, investigators determined with high confidence that since the middle of March Internet traffic entering China was used in a data-denial attack against two websites involved in defeating Chinese-based web censorship. The traffic was  “manipulated to create cyber attacks directed at U.S.-based websites,” the notice said.        http://freebeacon.com/national-security/fbi-links-chinese-government-to-cyber-attacks-on-u-s-companies/

Hilarity with Hilly
Burt_Header_M2.jpg
(burtprelutsky.com) - I know that a lot of people are waiting to hear Mrs. Clinton answer tough questions from reporters, but I’m not one of them. I’m pretty old and I’m not sure I have the time to sit through too many of her answers.

For instance, Morton Michaels reminds me that in 2014, when asked about her accomplishments as Secretary of State, she responded: “Well, I’m glad you asked me that! My proudest accomplishment in which I take the most pride, mostly because of the opposition it faced early on, you know…the remnants of prior situations and mindsets that were too narrowly focused in a manner whereby they may have overlooked the bigger picture and we didn’t do that and I’m proud of that. Very proud. I would say that’s a major accomplishment.”

The scariest thing of all is that tens of millions of Democrats would listen to that incoherent drivel, nod and say, “Yep, she’s the smartest woman in the world.”

Pundits never tire of pointing out that Hilly has a frosty relationship with the members of the media. Well, I know why I despise them, but I can’t figure out her attitude. It strikes me that theirs is one of the great tales of unrequited love, taking its place alongside “The Great Gatsby” and “Cyrano de Bergerac.” The members of the media, after all, wear their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to liberals, but it’s as if Hilly takes it as an affront that they seem to adore Nancy Pulosi, Barbara Boxer and Elizabeth Warren, every bit as much as they love her.

Because Hilly treated the members of the media with the contempt they deserve, the twerps were forced to read great meaning into the fact that in Iowa she visited a Chipotle restaurant and ordered a burrito bowl with a side of guacamole, as if they were reading tea leaves or Tarot cards. Was she reaching out to the Hispanic population or perhaps the avocado growers of America? Or perhaps this woman of the people simply had no idea what a burrito was and thought she was ordering a donut.

How can one not enjoy her attempts to pass herself off as just a typical granny in spite of having $200 million in the family checking account? She can’t even say something as non-partisan as referring to “all the truckers I saw on the I-80 as I was driving here” without reminding us that this self-proclaimed champion of the middleclass hasn’t even driven a car in 25 years.

I expect when she is finally forced to answer for those millions of dollars that flowed into the Clinton coffers even while she was serving as Secretary of State, she’ll channel her inner Bill, and respond in typical Clintonian fashion: “It all depends on what the meaning of ‘bribery’ is.”

In the meantime, her utter contempt for journalists is the only thing about her I like.

♦ If the media didn’t see its mission as being the propaganda arm of the Socialist Party, someone would ask nObama why, if Islamic terrorists are not really Islamic, he continues to supply Gitmo inmates with Korans, a Muslim diet and prayer mats, and why he insisted that the Navy provide Osama bin Laden’s carcass with a religious send-off at sea.

♦ Even I know that as soon as the Federal Reserve stops keeping the economy afloat by printing funny money and maintaining interest rates at zero, the Stock Market will crash and burn. It’s inevitable, just as it was in 2008. How could it have been otherwise, thanks to sub-prime mortgages?

The banks were happy to cash in, but it was the Democrats who got the ball rolling. They assumed that allowing people with lousy credit to buy homes with no money down would provide them with a windfall on Election Day. After all, on page one of their playbook, it says the best way to win elections is to buy votes with other people’s money.

Of course one reason the Democrats were able to carry it off is because people like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and the bureaucrats at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lied about the actual number of sub-prime loans, waiting like time bombs to go off. They told us there were six million. Turns out there were 31 million.

♦ Here in California, Jerry Brown and his stooges blame the drought on the lack of rainfall without mentioning that we are never more than a few years away from the next drought. What they fail to mention is that they haven’t built a new reservoir in 40 years or even considered taking advantage of a 700 mile coastline by building desalinization plants.

They even have the audacity to accuse farmers of wasting water, never once blaming the environmental lobby for denying water to farmland in order to safeguard such after-thoughts of Mother Nature as the delta smelt, the spotted owl and the flaky self-important members of the Sierra Club.

In the ongoing debate, even without knowing any of the pertinent facts, who would you imagine to be the more responsible stewards of the earth: rich San Francisco snots who gather regularly to drink white wine spritzers and nosh on brie or the San Joaquin farmers who depend on the earth for their livelihood?

♦ In other news, when the PBS documentary series, “Finding Your Roots,” discovered that an ancestor of uberliberal Ben Affleck had been a slave owner, Affleck persuaded the show to conceal the fact. Naturally, PBS obliged him, explaining, once the story broke, that it wasn’t censorship; they had merely come up with a more interesting ancestor.

Pardon my cynicism, but would PBS have cut a conservative celebrity, someone like Jon Voight, Pat Boone or Pat Sajak, the same slack? Not likely unless the more interesting ancestor turned out to be Benedict Arnold.

♦ Over the course of the past week, I have received a few more questions addressed to Dear Burt, everyone’s favorite seer.

“Dear Burt: What do you think of presidential debates as a way of deciding on a Republican candidate? Curious in Chicago.”

“Dear Curious: If they actually proved anything, we’d probably be better off electing members of high school or college debating teams. Which, considering some of the candidates we’ve come up with, might not be the worst idea in the world. A better process would involve arming the combatants with long knives and placing them all in a deep pit. The person who finally climbed out would then be in a better position to run against Hilly.”

“Dear Burt: What did you make of the melee that recently took place when a large group of demonstrators carrying signs reading “Captivity is Slavery,” “Animals are Innocent” and “Stop the Injustice,” got into a scuffle with employees of the Ramos Brothers Circus? Anxious in Augusta.”

“Dear Anxious: Frankly, I don’t enjoy seeing elephants being forced to parade around the ring like a bunch of showgirls. But the only surprising thing about watching liberal pinheads brawling with circus clowns is that for once it took place in San Bernardino, CA, and not in Washington, D.C.

Same-Sex Marriage Decision Hinges on Justice Kennedy
In the oral arguments over the Supreme Court case that may institute same-sex marriage nationwide, the Court appeared to split along its usual lines, with Justice Anthony Kennedy once again becoming the justice on which the whole decision rests. Like many, Hot Air's Allahpundit saw Justice Kennedy sympathetic to the arguments made by the pro-same-sex-marriage lobby. Allahpundit believes the Court will rule against traditional marriage; the only question now is by what vote. Nevertheless, some justices were cautious. For thousands of years, marriage has been defined as between a man and a woman. Then, the Netherlands changed its definition of marriage in 2001. "You're not seeking to join the institution," Chief Justice John Roberts said. "You're seeking to change what the institution is." He added, "One of the things that's truly extraordinary about this whole issue is how quickly has been the acceptance of your position across broad elements of society." The plaintiffs' attorneys have been practicing for months, running moot courts and rehearsing responses to Justice Antonin Scalia's style of questioning. The goal, The New York Times reported, is not just win, but "win big." If SCOTUS rules in their favor, then they already have. More...  -The Patriot Post

National Guard, Curfew Quell Second Night of Baltimore Unrest
The rioting Monday night in Baltimore left 19 buildings and 144 vehicles burned, 20 police officers injured and 235 people arrested. But what we saw by dawn on Wednesday is that Tuesday's violence was subdued. Two thousand National Guard members and 400 state troopers enforced a 10 p.m. city-wide curfew. Baltimore was hesitant at first to crack down on the initial stages of unrest because many of the unruly were youth, but then the violence evolved. "When we deployed our officers yesterday, we were deploying for a high school event," Baltimore PD spokesman Capt. Eric Kowalcyzk said. "I don't think there's anyone that would expect us to deploy with automatic weapons and armored vehicles for 13-, 14- and 15-year olds."
Meanwhile, about 50 protesters were demonstrating in Ferguson, Missouri, last night when a man was shot in the lower leg. While it's not clear if the shooting is connected to the demonstrations, police threatened to use "chemical munitions" to clear the crowd. Later, a group set fire to trashcans and a portable toilet. Even after all this time, violence still lingers in the St. Louis suburb. However, Barack nObama wasn't about to say the riots are due to a malformed relationship between cops and citizens. No, for him, the problem is Republicans. He said at a press conference yesterday, "I'm under no illusion that out of this Congress we're going to get massive investments in urban communities … But if we really want to solve the problem, if our society really wanted to solve the problem, we could." Leftists believe the answer to everything is more money. More...   -The Patriot Post

nObama: Congress Is Just Afraid of a Little Globalization
In pushing for a free-trade agreement with countries arrayed around the Pacific Ocean, Barack nObama has managed to enter the rare political situation of gaining opponents in both Democrat and Republican parties. Democrats, led by the likes of Elizabeth Warren, bray that the Trans-Pacific Partnership will hurt the middle class. Republicans, well, they have a right to be suspicious, because the administration that "led" the U.S. economy on its slowest recovery to date wants to negotiate a trade deal that will have huge economic implications. Furthermore, nObama is seeking approval for this treaty in a simple yes-no vote, a move that speeds up the negotiation process, but one that also cheapens Congress' role in negotiating treaties. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, nObama called the skeptics of the Trans-Pacific Partnership scared of a little globalization. After all, if the U.S. does nothing, then China will establish its trade agreements and earn influence over that corner of the globe. "What we can't do, though, is withdraw," nObama said. "There has been a confluence of anti-global engagement from both elements of the right and elements of the left that I think [is] a big mistake." There is a reason why the Constitution grants Congress the power to approve treaties, and the argument that we're running out of time is no excuse to trust the judgment of one man. More...   -The Patriot Post

Why Is SCOTUS Even Considering Same-Sex Marriage?
Since the very definition of marriage is up for grabs at the U.S. Supreme Court this week — SCOTUS entertained oral arguments Tuesday on a number of cases consolidated under the central issue of the un-constitutionality of states' ability to deny gay marriage — we thought this an appropriate point to interject reason into the debate, strengthened by an understanding of history — Constitutional history. Let's start with the basics: The Constitution of the United States has nothing to say about marriage, "gay" or otherwise. What does that mean?
Well, if you know nothing about civics, it means nothing. Unfortunately, that's the take the religiously zealous supporters of same-sex marriage are trying to foist off on the Supremes this week. Their approach, of course, doesn't admit to this, or even begin to touch on the truly core issue — Federalism — for the same reason abortionist supporters of Roe v. Wade did not: They would otherwise lose. Let's walk through this Matrix together, Neo.
The Constitution is the foundational legal document governing our nation. For almost 200 years it served as the backbone behind the body of laws under which the lowliest individual to the U.S. President operated. All of that changed with the Progressive Movement of the late 1800s and early 1900s, FDR's New Deal and a host of other progressive assaults on the concept of the Rule of Law. Wiser-than-the-rest-of-us progressives rejected this idea in favor of the arrogation that some people (read: them) are better suited to rule than others (read: you), and accordingly pushed to make the Constitution a "living, breathing document" (read: changeable to suit progressives' needs). The practical upshot of this "breathing" is that Rule of Law is all but a dead letter in our nation. But we digress.  -The Patriot Post

WAIT. WHAT? HILLY CALLS FOR ‘RESTORING TRUST’ IN  POLITICS
Facing a scandal that threatens to capsize her quest to return to the White House,Hilly Clinton debuted her first major policy speech since the official launch of her current campaign. Clinton focused on a call to end “mass incarceration” in America and denounced racial injustice in the legal system, but her focus was on the question of “trust” saying “we must urgently rebuild the bonds of trust and respect among Americans. …Restoring trust in our politics, our press, our markets.” That’s a pretty tall order for a woman who is now widely distrusted by the American electorate and facing accusations that she and her husband raked in part of their massive fortune through payola from people doing business with her State Department. Remember the last time Clinton spoke in so public a setting in New York, she was explaining that she had destroyed 31,000 emails from her time in office.
It’s quite a switch for Clinton to join President nObama and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., in anti-imprisonment crusade. Clinton has long heralded the tough-on-crime policies of her husband’s administration – laws credited with helping to end the bloody drug turf wars of the 1990s but blamed for a booming black prison population. Under the Clinton administration, federal prosecutors stepped up drug prosecutions and today, and today most federal inmates are behind bars for drug offenses. Facing pressure from her left and a skeptical black electorate, Clinton had no trouble making the reversal.
Clinton swung hard on the subject and seemed to score – at least with reporters. One called her speech “truly remarkable” and another called it “compelling.” But how about the issue of moral authority? Clinton is no doubt right that Americans, and not just black Americans, have lost confidence in the basic institutions of the Republic. What is unclear is how a woman who has been at the core of the bipartisan establishment for decades and is embroiled in what is only the latest corruption scandal of her long career can credibly claim the mantle of change. The candidate who is famous for shady dealing and intense secrecy doesn’t sound like the one to make the pitch for reform.

Proposal Could Allow Feds to Ban Book Critical of Hilly Foundation
(Lachlan Markay) - Hilly Clinton’s proposal to get money out of politics could allow the federal government to restrict or ban the publication of a book that has embroiled her presidential campaign in controversy, experts say...Clinton called for a constitutional amendment to “get unaccountable money out of” politics in an op-ed for the Des Moines Register published Monday. Her campaign did not respond to requests for additional details, but legal experts say similar efforts over the past two years would have profound effects on Americans’ free speech rights. Constitutional amendments introduced by Democratic senators in 2013 and 2014 could give the federal government the authority to prevent expenditures by a publisher, for example, to produce or publicize books critical of political candidates.        http://freebeacon.com/politics/clinton-proposal-could-allow-feds-to-ban-book-critical-of-clinton-foundation/

Marxist Democrats and the Return of the Hanoi Lobby
(Cliff Kincaid) - The main failure by top Republicans—and even many conservatives—is that they do not challenge President nObama as the Marxist he is, and they have no coherent alternative to his strategic plan of supporting America’s enemies...Reflecting the current mindset—that nObama is just a misguided liberal—Republican strategist Karl Rove failed to anticipate or understand the nature of the growing anti-nObama movement, and the potential it holds. He had predicted the GOP would pick up only six seats in the House, when the Republicans picked up 14 seats. He had predicted that Republican would win the Senate with 51 seats, when the actual figure turned out to be 54. Republicans like Rove do not understand the nature of the Democratic Party and how it has been taken over by Marxist forces. He had advised Republicans in 2008 and 2012 not to refer to nObama as a socialist. However, grassroots conservatives increasingly understand the dangers we are facing.        http://www.aim.org/aim-column/marxist-democrats-and-the-return-of-the-hanoi-lobby/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email050115&utm_medium=email

Tehran’s on tear in Middle East
(Peter Brookes) - So much for those who were hoping that the recently concluded – but clearly unfinished – nuclear deal with Iran would serve as the basis for a replay of President Nixon’s historic opening to China...As the next phase of nuclear talks begins this week in Vienna, Tehran is on a tear. This time it’s in Yemen where news accounts report that a convoy of Iranian cargo ships may be headed for the war-torn country – where a Saudi-led coalition has conducted an air campaign that began in late March. It’s also been reported that Iran has moved some of its warships from its home waters in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden off Yemen to conduct “counter-piracy” operations, according to Tehran. http://www.aim.org/guest-column/tehrans-on-tear-in-middle-east/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=email050115&utm_medium=email

Christian Leaders Plan Civil Disobedience if Gay Marriage Legalizes
(Onan Coca) - The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments from both sides of the gay marriage debate, though it seems likely that only one or two votes are actually in question (Justice Kennedy and Chief Justice Roberts)...So, the question is, will the Supreme Court decide for gay marriage 5-4 (or 6-3), or against gay marriage 5-4. A large and vocal group of Christian leaders have written a letter pledging to stand against any decision to legalize same-sex marriage across the United States. The group promises civil disobedience and to present a united front to the ever growing assault on traditional marriage and Christianity. Some of the more well-known signers include; Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Franklin Graham, James Dobson and it was co-written by Mat Staver, the founder of Liberty Counsel, who told Todd Starnes, “We’re sending a warning to the Supreme Court and frankly any court that crosses the line on the issue of marriage,” Staver told me. He said that once same-sex marriage is elevated to the level of protected status – it will transform the face of society and will result in the “beginning of the end of Western Civilization.”        http://eaglerising.com/17929/christian-leaders-plan-civil-disobedience-if-the-supreme-court-legalizes-gay-marriage/

Hilly Equates Gun Owners With Terrorists
(Bob Owens) - Democrat Presidential candidate Hilly Clinton thinks that “gun free zone” signs work, twice claims that modern sporting rifles are “automatic weapons,” and states that owners of the most popular rifle sold in the United States today are a small group “that terrorizes the majority of people.”...The June 17, 2014 interview shows just how out of touch Clinton is with a nation where the majority of people in this country who favor gun rights. Clinton went on to bizarrely claim that those who do not bow to her views on gun control are “prone to violence.”        http://linkis.com/bearingarms.com/GjRhw

Trey Gowdy Destroys EPA Official Who Ignored Harassment
(rickwells.us) - John Reeder is the Environmental Protection Agency’s Deputy Chief of Staff. He’s also the latest bumbling, inept or corrupt government official to endure the sting of a round of Rep Trey Gowdy’s interrogations...Reeder is asked to explain his failure to ascertain that an employee he was vetting for a promotion, Peter Jutro, had repeatedly engaged in sexual harassment of other employees. It is a fact that was known to his immediate supervisor and was easily discovered by the Inspector General who investigated. The underlying theme for why the EPA official never discovered the abusive behavior, which Gowdy elicits in his typical unique fashion, is that Reeder never bothered to ask. One might expect questioning to be a major component of the EPA vetting process. Apparently, officials at the EPA are so accustomed to issuing edicts and dictates they’ve simply forgotten how to ask.       http://www.rickwells.us/hostile-environment-no-protection-trey-gowdy-destroys-epa-official-who-ignored-harassment/

 Circumstantial Evidence
(Alan Caruba) - Imagine that you are the former Governor of Virginia, Robert F. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, both sitting in jail after having been found guilty last year of public corruption for accepting golf outings, lavish vacations and $120,000 in “sweetheart” loans...Compared to the Clintons they are just two failed bit players. riting in the May issue of Commentary, Jonathan S. Tobin, a senior editor, noted the lack of a “smoking gun” in the case of just the latest Clinton scandals. “But what Democrats and all Americans should be asking about this argument is why some people get prosecuted for corruption on such circumstantial evidence while others are considered likely to be elected president.” “Just because a prosecutor isn’t likely to haul the Clintons into court over all these astonishing coincidences (or at least not so long as the Democrats control the Department of Justice), that doesn’t mean their behavior doesn’t smell to high heaven,” said Tobin. “The court in which the Clintons deserve to be condemned is that of public opinion.”       http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/71569

Jade Helm is Real - Texas on Guard as State Militia on Alert
(Michael Ware) - The mainstream media has ignored the news that a Special Operations Command was going to conduct exercises in seven western states this summer...Those who have reported this operation have been labeled as conspiracy theorists. Many have lied and or downplayed the event. However, in a time of growing divide and more mistrust than America has seen since the War Between the States, such activities seem very troubling to citizens. Now it seems that the mainstream has picked up the story, if nothing else but to calm the sheep. To pretend that this operation is preparation for some overseas operation is not very believable. If, then, the operation is set to take place to prepare the joint operation of military, federal and local law enforcement to take down dissidents, what is the actual purpose and where is it to be applied? What are they going to do that would make operations and coordination of seven states needed? That is what really needs to be the concern of the American people.        http://freedomoutpost.com/2015/04/jade-helm-is-real-texas-on-guard-as-state-militia-on-alert/

(Louis Charbonneau) - Britain has informed a United Nations sanctions panel of an active Iranian nuclear procurement network linked to two blacklisted firms, according to a confidential report by the panel seen by Reuters...The existence of such a network could add to Western concerns over whether Tehran can be trusted to adhere to a nuclear deal due by June 30 in which it would agree to restrict sensitive nuclear work in exchange for sanctions relief. Talks between six major powers and Tehran are approaching the final stages after they hammered out a preliminary agreement on April 2, with Iran committing to reduce the number of centrifuges it operates and to other long-term nuclear limitations.       http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/30/us-iran-nuclear-idUSKBN0NL09220150430

Foreign Money Promotes Radical Islamist Agenda in Canada

Supreme Court
to Rule on Same-Sex Marriage
Alan Caruba
Cartoon%2B-%2BSCOTUS%2BCreates%2BProblems.jpg
(factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com) - In 1973, the Supreme Court looked into the Constitution, found that it approved of abortion and overruled laws banning it. Other laws have since addressed late term abortions and those resulting from rape or incest, but killing human life in the womb has been lawful since then. According to the Guttmacher Institute from 1973 through 2011, nearly 53 million legal abortions occurred in the U.S.
.
By dismantling the fundamental traditions and beliefs of a nation piece by piece, you ultimate will destroy it. Claiming this is done in the name of “love” or “equality” ignores the greater societal issues involved in marriage; the creation of families with mothers and fathers, and, indeed, the welfare of children raised in same-sex marriages.
.
Abortion remains a moral issue in the minds and hearts of many Americans and now they are waiting to see how the Supreme Court will rule on same-sex marriage. As Ryan T. Anderson wrote in The Heritage Foundation’s publication, The Daily Signal, “There simply is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that requires all 50 states to redefine marriage.”
.
“The over-arching question before the Supreme Court is not whether a male-female marriage policy is the best, but only whether it is allowed by the Constitution. The question is not whether government-recognized same-sex marriage is good or bad policy, but only whether it is required by the Constitution.”
.
Anderson points out that “The only way the Court could strike down laws that define marriage as the union of husband and wife is to adopt a view of marriage that sees it an essentially genderless institution…” Marriage is all about gender and the union of opposites that is blessed by the community when a man and woman enter into it. To legalize same-sex marriage is to degrade the essential element of society, the keystone of family.
.
What we are witnessing is the current high point in a long campaign to remove any obstacle to being homosexual and the right to marry another homosexual represents an important political goal for  GLBT community. For them it’s not about the thousands of years in which all societies forbid the marriage between those of the same gender or the 227 years since the Constitution was ratified.
.
Clearly the Constitution neither requires nor bans same-sex marriage. The thought of such a marriage would never have occurred to the Founding Fathers and the creation of a new nation had far greater priorities and responsibilities than same-sex marriage. Most such issues such as abortion were left to the states to determine. Even so, when the voters of California voted in 2008 to ban same-sex marriage, the courts there overturned it.
.
We are witnessing a homosexual juggernaut that will settle for nothing less than their own interpretation of the relations between the sexes.
.
When the Supreme Court hears the same-sex marriage case on Tuesday, April 28, it will be decided by a Court that is sharply divided between liberal and conservative points of view, but in the legal community, there is no argument that, as federal law states, “Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”
.
That’s why the fact that in late September Justice Elena Kagan performed a same-sex “wedding” takes on tremendous importance. As documented by MassResistance.org, Justice Kagan has a long history of advancing homosexual issues and policies. A 16-page report leaves little doubt that she favors acceptance of homosexuality and transgenderism as “civil rights.”
.
There is no way that Justice Kagan should join other Supreme Court judges to rule on this case. That would run counter to federal law and would be an arrogant dismissal of the most fundamental concept of justice before the bench.
.
What we have learned thus far is that the practice of same-sex marriage has proven more a threat to the rights of those who are opposed to it for sincere religious reasons than for those demanding their services. If there is any justice left in America, a bakery or florist should be able to say no. Demanding that they act against their faith tells you a great deal of the homosexual mindset when it comes to their “rights.”
.
I am utterly opposed to same-sex “marriage” for all the reasons the Bible and history provide.
.
If Justice Kagan does not recuse herself from Tuesday’s case and her fellow justices do not demand that she does, the rule of law and justice in America will have suffered another serious blow.

Long grows the shadow of tyranny upon the land... cold the hand of the despot upon our liberty falls. Who will stand, who will go, who will answer, the call of the fallen...  Whose blood, did pave the streets of liberty with sorrows tears. We few, we few men, whose lives did bleed cry out from above... Come, stay the course true, and live in peace forever renewed; die not the cowards curse, make sure freedom's thirst... drink long this day of liberty for tomorrow comes tyranny's shadow upon this land.

Can the bards of time so eloquently lift their voices to cry .... Give us liberty or give us death, and not be heard?  Can there be so few yet, in this land, too rally round the tree of liberty?  Whose voice shall our children dance before or labor now; whose cheers of joy shall our wives great ... Will it be free men, or the slaves of a new plantation...

Were comes this cry for justice in our land of law... Who is it, that has turned the servant of the people too usurp their master's... Call.  Will justice be blind in a land bartered by men, whose black robes so aptly hide their souls within.  Let the world know, that the law is the servant of the people, and the unjust judge will be overturned upon appeal to a people... True.

Woe to the tyrant... whose eyes seize upon another's life and property; thinking to entice the wicked, too engage him, as his appetite grows bold for more...  until, there is no more. Then, shall we hear the voice of the oppressed rise to heaven, and the Supreme Judge of the Land shall speak judgment upon the wicked.

Look up for the day grows short... and the sun soon sets, then darkness will cover the wicked, for a time and a season.  But in the morning, judgment comes, upon the wings of an Eagle it comes... For, the tyrant shall not escape his end... it is certain... deaths curtain, shall embrace him; tomorrow and tomorrow in an eternity of sorrow.

Greet now thy makers voice with joy... Rejoice for He alone will bring a conclusion to this all... With liberty, we shall brake the bounds of the despot's call, with the voice of freedom... we shall rally all.

Clinton Praised Controversial GM Plant After Massive Donation

Freddie Was Trying To Injure Himself – 2nd Inmate Gives Statement
(rickwells.us) - New information has surfaced which indicates that Baltimore thug-turned police “victim” Freddie Gray might have been exhibiting some self-destructive behavior during his ride in the police paddy wagon during which he is believed to have been fatally injured...A fellow prisoner who was riding in the same vehicle with Gray has come forward with a statement that from the commotion he heard Gray making, which included him “banging against the walls” of the vehicle, he believed at the time that Gray “was intentionally trying to injure himself.” It was recently learned that Gray had previously suffered spinal injuries as the result of a car accident and had received a significant insurance settlement. It now appears that Gray may have been attempting to re-injure himself in order to place the blame upon police, avoid jail and rack up another significant pay day in the process. If that was Gray’s intent, he was risking his life and health in doing so, but it may have been a gamble he was willing to take.  nObama's Flying robots of Death

(Judge Andrew Napolitano) - Thomas Cromwell was the principal behind-the-scenes fixer for much of the reign of King Henry VIII. He engineered the interrogations, convictions and executions of many whom Henry needed out of the way...including his two predecessors as fixer and even the king’s second wife, Queen Anne. When Cromwell’s son, Gregory, who became sickened as he watched his father devolving from counselor to monster, learned that an executioner for the queen had been sent for from France a week before her conviction, he asked his father what the purpose of her trial was if the king had preordained the queen’s guilt and prepaid the executioner. Cromwell replied that the king needed a jury to give legitimacy to her conviction and prevent the public perception of “the tyranny of one man’s opinion.” In America, we have a Constitution not only to prevent the perception but also to prevent the reality of the tyranny of one man’s opinion. The Constitution’s Fifth Amendment makes clear that if the government wants life, liberty or property, it cannot take it by legislation or executive command; it can do so only by due process – a fair jury trial and all its constitutional protections.       http://www.wnd.com/2015/04/obamas-flying-robots-of-death/

Can the Democrats Get Rid of Hilly?
(Daniel Greenfield) - The worst Clinton marriage isn’t the one between Hilly and Bill. It’s between Hilly Clinton and the Democratic Party. The Democrats don’t want Hilly, but they’re stuck with her anyway...Since her last loss, the Clintons have made it clear that 2016 will be Hilly’s year. Making her the inevitable candidate, scared off other candidates and their donors. Hilly camped out on the Democratic ticket the way that Jeb tried and failed to do on the Republican ticket. Hilly has the Democratic Party where she wants it. By scaring off every serious candidate, the party has no choice but to get behind her.  Muhammad Bin Nayef, the Saudi groundhog
(Michael Rubin) - Every winter, Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his burrow in central Pennsylvania. If he sees his shadow and returns to his hole, that means there will be six more weeks of winter...Skeptics might roll their eyes at the accuracy of a groundhog’s predictions, but when it comes to the new Saudi Crown Prince, Muhammad Bin Nayyef, predictions are much clearer. Whether or not the Saudi groundhog sees his shadow, he will plant the seeds for decades more sectarian hatred and push sectarian warfare to the forefront of Saudi foreign policy. When King Abdullah died and Crown Prince Salman took over the Saudi throne, I wrote that there were dark clouds on the horizon with the appointment of the 55-year-old Muhammad bin Nayef as deputy crown prince. The problem was that Bin Nayef is a sectarian hardliner and pretty reactionary when it comes to reforms such as allowing women to drive. Earlier today, 79-year-old King Salman, frail and in poor health, issued a series of decrees shaking up the Saudi government. Long story short, Bin Nayef is now crown prince, his succession to the top spot in the kingdom virtually assured.        http://www.aei.org/publication/muhammad-bin-nayef-the-saudi-groundhog/?utm_source=paramount&utm_medium=email&utm_content=AEITODAY&utm_campaign=043015

Builders flood Congress to block nObama’s EPA rules for creeks
(Alan Bierga & Mark Drajem) - President Barack nObama’s plan to expand protections for waterways is in jeopardy as builders and farmers have won the support of even some Democrats in Congress to block it...The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency wants to put under federal oversight any pond or stream that has a “significant nexus” to a navigable waterway, even if the smaller body of water flows just a few weeks a year. Opponents fear it could mean permission would be needed to even dig a small ditch or build a road. The dispute over what is a “water of the U.S.” is becoming one of this year’s most pitched environmental battles, drawing bipartisan condemnation. Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul and Minnesota Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson have both sponsored measures to derail it. Viguerie) - Republicans haven’t laid a glove on Hilly Clinton yet, because, to paraphrase James Carville, Mrs. Clinton’s longtime chief apologist, "It’s not about Hilly’s scandals: It’s her ideas stupid!"...To defeat Hilly Clinton Republicans should be challenging and campaigning against her policies – yet they remain fixated on attacking her at what may be her strongest point – the ability to weather a crisis. Yes, the mindboggling revelations about the venality, conflicts of interest and prima facie illegal conduct by Hilly Clinton while she was Secretary of State set forth in Peter Schweizer’s new book “Clinton Cash” would have driven any Republican from the presidential race and straight into an interview room at their local U.S. Attorney’s office.        http://www.conservativehq.com/article/20207-it%E2%80%99s-not-about-hillary%E2%80%99s-scandals-it%E2%80%99s-her-ideas-stupid

nObama’s Chief Attorney Makes Chilling Admission During SCOTUS
(Tony Perkins) - The biggest news from Tuesday’s Supreme Court arguments isn’t news at all to conservatives: Same-sex “marriage” is a threat to religious freedom. For once, that revelation didn’t come from one of the lawyers on our side but from the nObama administration’s own attorney...In a rare moment of candor, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli sent a clear signal on where this debate is headed, and it isn’t to the marriage altar. As the President’s chief attorney made stunningly clear, redefining marriage is not — and has never been — the end goal of homosexuals. Silencing dissent is. And you can’t silence dissent without punishing speech and belief — which is apparently what the government has in mind if the Court rules in the Left’s favor.       http://barbwire.com/2015/04/30/0800-obamas-chief-attorney-makes-chilling-admission-during-scotus-marriage-arguments/
2017 Can't Come Soon Enough
Burt_Header_M2.jpg
(burtprelutsky.com) - Like everyone else who can’t wait for the nObamas to vacate the White House, I want to tell 2017 not to dawdle. No stopping to smell the roses while the rest of us are sniffing the swamp gas emanating from what has come to be known over the past six years as the Offal Office.
.
I have long believed that you could get a pretty good handle on a person if you knew his friends and his enemies. In nObama’s case, his friends, those folks for whom he doesn’t mind going that extra mile, seem to consist of Vladimir Putin, the Ayatollah Khamenei and the Castros, which explains why Raul Castro recently declared that “Barack nObama is a decent man.” As commendations go, that’s rather like having Hitler calling you a nice guy.
.
On the other hand, Obama’s enemy list includes Israel’s Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, Egypt’s President el-Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Christians, America’s conservatives, law-abiding gun owners and, of course, Fox News.
.
It is also telling that nObama and his stooges always manage to come up with tax dollars for illegal aliens, Planned Parenthood’s abortion mills and urban blacks, but rarely for our wounded military veterans.
.
♦ Speaking of welfare, in Maine, a three-month limit has been established on food stamps for able-bodied adults without minor dependents (ABAWDS) unless they work 20 hours a week, attend job-training courses or volunteer for six hours a week. I think you’d agree that’s not too demanding. And yet the mere notion of doing volunteer work for about an hour-a-day was enough to decrease the number of these clodhoppers receiving food stamps by 80%!
.
I suspect that if Maine added mandatory drug-testing to the requirements, it could eliminate that last 20%.
.
♦ In case you’re unaware of it, the Rolling Stone, the uber left-wing rag, recently ran a story about a gang rape that allegedly took place at a University of Virginia fraternity house. It turned out that Jackie, the “victim” had made it up out of whole cloth, which, unfortunately, is the case far too often when it comes to campus assaults. But what made this case worthy of attention was that nobody insisted that the reporter speak to the alleged rapists, to the woman’s friends or even to the local police.
.
Even when the Stone’s owner and editors fessed up, the apology sounded a lot like, “Okay, we were mistaken this one time (okay, twice, if you insist on bringing up the Duke Lacrosse team), but the fact is that young southerners enjoy nothing better than raping coeds unless it’s lynching black men.”
.
For those on the Left who pooh-pooh conservatives when they accuse the mainstream media of having an agenda, whether it involves cases such as these or endemic racism among white cops, this is what we’re talking about.
.
♦ Speaking of cops, some of the stupidest people in America, and that certainly includes Al Sharpton and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, are those who compare cops to Klansmen. However, some of the other stoopnagels are cops. I mean ever since Rodney King, if a police officer so much as coughs without covering his mouth, it’s captured on video. So how is it that some of them still seem to believe that donning the uniform makes them invisible?
.
♦ Speaking of stupid, how is it that so many so-called journalists haven’t caught on that if they’re going to devote their lives to shilling for the Democrats, they shouldn’t be working for newspapers and earning peanuts? What they should do is call themselves political strategists like James Carville, Joe Trippi, Mark Hannah and Lanny Davis. They’d not only make a fortune, but force millions of us to fast-forward through any Fox show on which they happened to appear.
.
♦ Some of you may have noticed that I have cooled slightly on Scott Walker. It’s nothing that he’s done or even anything he said. In fact, it was his response to the English reporter who asked him what he thought of the Theory of Evolution. Instead of saying he believed in it or that he didn’t, he blinked and said something along the lines of “I wouldn’t touch that question with a 10-foot pole.”
.
While it’s true that there was no reason to pose the question, and we all know that the same reporter would not ask it of Barack nObama or Hilly Clinton, I don’t want a Republican presidential candidate to ask himself how an answer to any question is going to play in Iowa or New Hampshire, Ohio or Texas.
.
Frankly, I don’t care what Walker or any of the GOP contenders thinks about Charles Darwin. As president, nothing Walker says or does is going to involve evolution. But if you’re not savvy enough to say, “Darwin had his theories and I have my own when it comes to simplifying the tax code, building up our military, closing the southern border, shutting down the EPA, defending Israel, standing up to Iran and killing Islamic terrorists wherever they raise their ugly heads,” I’m not sure you’re ready for primetime.
.
♦ After viewing Hilly’s video announcing her candidacy, showing her posed in front of a white picket fence, which didn’t even slightly resemble the Clinton mansion in Chappaqua, NY, a friend told me he expected some kid to come by and ask her if the Beav could come out and play. For my part, I was surprised not to see one of Ma Clinton’s famous hot apple pies cooling on the window sill.
.
♦ When I recently wrote that Rand Paul was too short to be elected president, a couple of Sen. Paul’s fans reminded me that James Madison was a mere 5-foot-4. But I pointed out that was 200 years ago when the average height of American men wasn’t what it is today. Besides, without TV, most Americans had no idea how tall Madison was or how he measured up against George Clinton, Charles Pinckney or Rufus King. Moreover, people were a lot smarter back then, and welfare recipients, not to mention illegal aliens, weren’t being encouraged to vote.
.
♦ Finally, I recently read that Olivia de Havilland, a contract player at Warner Brothers, begged Jack Warner to loan her out to MGM so she could take the role of Melanie in “Gone with the Wind.” Although it was commonplace and profitable for studios to rent out their stars, Jack Warner was reluctant because he always felt that when they came back to his no frills factory, they tended to be malcontents.
.
So after being turned down by Jack, Olivia invited Mrs. Warner to have lunch at the Brown Derby. She presented her case, Jack’s wife interceded on her behalf and before you could say, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn,” Olivia de Havilland had the role and an Oscar nomination.
.
The reason I mention this is because it relates to something in my own life. Many years ago when I was in my 20s, living in Los Angeles, I received an assignment from the Sundaysupplement in the Chicago Tribune to write a piece about the upcoming TV season. They told me they wanted me to interview the producers of the many new one-hour dramas that would debut in September. They specifically told me they weren’t interested in the financial impact it would have on the networks when most of their half-hour sit coms were displaced.
.
I watched the pilot episodes, interviewed the producers and mailed the article off to Chicago. The next thing I knew, the editor of the Sunday supplement let me know he was dissatisfied. Where, he wanted to know, were all the financial details? I reminded him that he had told me to ignore all that boring stuff.
.
When he held fast, I wrote to his boss, the managing editor, who wrote back to say he gave his subordinate editors absolute autonomy to do as they pleased.
.
Fortunately, I still had relatives living in Chicago and both editors had distinctive names. So I wrote to a cousin and asked him to find out their home addresses. As soon as I had them, I addressed letters to their wives, explained the situation and asked them how they’d feel if they had a son living 1,800 miles away who was being jerked around this way. .      I never heard back from either of the women, but within a week, I received a check from the Tribune.
.
At the time, I realized that nearly every man has a conscience. But as Olivia de Havilland had discovered, they often come by them the same way they wind up with in-laws and mortgages; namely, through marriage.

Freddie Gray Investigation Handed Over to Prosecutors

Baltimore city officials are mum after the police department handed its investigation into the death of Freddie Gray over to state prosecutors Thursday, a day before they said the investigation would be completed. The public still doesn’t know the details surrounding the 25-year-old’s death. Maryland State Attorney Marilyn Mosby said, “While we have and will continue to leverage the information received by the department, we are not relying solely on their findings but rather the facts that we have gathered and verified. We ask for the public to remain patient and peaceful and to trust the process of the justice system.” Prosecutors will decide whether or not to bring charges against the six police officers who are currently suspended from the Baltimore police force.

Meanwhile, the likes of Al Sharpton are in Baltimore, and they will not be satisfied if the prosecutors' decision doesn’t go their way. Daniel Henninger writes in The Wall Street Journal, “When Al Sharpton popularized the chant, ‘No justice, no peace,’ it was unmistakably clear that ‘no peace’ was an implicit threat of civil unrest. Not civil disobedience, as practiced by Martin Luther King Jr. Civil unrest.” Now is the time for conservatives to focus on ways to rebuild Baltimore to counter Sharpton’s race baiting and give residents better paths to prosperity.More…

In Campaign, Hillary Clinton Distances Herself From Bill

On April 29, Hillary Clinton stood before an audience at Columbia University and criticized America’s criminal justice system, the system her husband helped create in 1994 with the passage of his Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. “We have allowed our criminal justice system to get out of balance,” Ms. Clinton said. “And these recent tragedies [in Baltimore and Ferguson] should galvanize us to come together as a nation to find our balance again.” This is not the only instance where Hillary has positioned herself directly opposing the legislation and policies that her husband’s administration instituted some 20 years before. Bill signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law; Hillary now says same-sex marriage is a constitutional right. Bill’s administration repealed the Glass-Steagall Act; Hillary wants it restored. The Washington Free Beacon reports that this distancing extends all the way to edits of Hillary’s official campaign bio. In 2008, her biography said “she followed her heart and a man named Bill Clinton to Arkansas” instead of pursuing a career at a big law firm. Eight years later, Clinton’s bio now says she skipped the big-law career path because she wanted to fight for children and families at the Children’s Defense Fund. With all the revisions, it seems Hillary only kept the name “Clinton” for the name recognition. More…

Updated Satellite Data Puts a Chill on Global Warming

More bad news for climate scaremongers. Remote Sensing Systems recordings, which more accurately reflect global temperatures, have perplexed many scientists ever since they revealed a global warming hiatus that’s now lasted for more than 18 years. In response, alarmists have trashed RSS findings in favor of NOAA’s complicated and flawed method. Three University of Alabama climatologists, Roy Spencer, John Christy and William Braswell, just concluded additional research on UAH Version 6, an alternative system used to study global temperatures. Not only did the new research cast further doubt on the claims of climate alarmists, but the adjustments revealed similar results to that of RSS. You can read more about why revisions are necessary and, notably, how these revisions are different than NOAA’s alleged tampering with historical data. To summarize, UAH’s newest finding is another inconvenient truth for envirofascists — which is exactly why they’ll ignore it.

Sen. Corker’s Stand for a Better GOP Budget

By Lewis Morris

2015-05-01-a50ed0a4_large.jpgSen. Bob Corker

Republicans' first attempt to present a fiscally responsible budget after assuming control of Capitol Hill ran into some snags this week. A budget resolution hashed out between House and Senate negotiators was expected to see an easy passage before Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) stalled the process by refusing to sign on to the final proposal.

Corker, recently listed as one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, where he was described as the “pragmatist of Congress,” is known for having a strong grasp of economics after spending many successful years in the private sector. He withdrew his support of the budget because he saw the proposal as riddled with budget gimmicks.

The resolution that Republicans crafted relies on a budget tool that gives lawmakers flexibility in dealing with spending curbs. This budgetary shell game is cleverly known as CHIMPS ⎯ Changes in Mandatory Programs — and it allows for boosting spending in some areas by offsetting spending in mandatory programs. The trouble with CHIMPS is that those spending cuts in mandatory programs are rarely, if ever, honored, basically amounting to an overall increase in spending.

“CHIMPS is a budget gimmick that is $190 billion in extra spending over a 10 year period,” Corker told reporters Tuesday. “And it’s something our caucus all has been for eliminating.”

Republicans gained control of both chambers of Congress in part because of their promise of fiscal responsibility after a decade of budgetary chaos thanks to spendthrift Democrats. Under the leadership of heavyweight curmudgeon Harry Reid, the Senate flat out refused to craft budgets, as required by law, opting instead to hide the true nature of impending fiscal doom through a series of continuing resolutions.

The GOP wants to bring an end to this craziness by passing budgets that come into balance in ten years. But thanks to CHIMPS, military spending will increase in the coming fiscal year without any significant cuts to entitlements.

Corker’s refusal to sign on to the budget proposal made sense for fiscal hawks. The GOP’s inability to curb spending its first time out as the majority party on Capitol Hill does not bode well for the future of its grand plan to bring fiscal sanity to Washington. So-called moderate Republicans who are just as drunk on spending as Democrats gleefully rely on CHIMPS and other budget tricks to circumvent the sequestration caps put in place four years ago. Corker’s opposition to the status quo offered a welcome change to the lip service being paid on spending.

But all is not what it seems in Washington. Wednesday, Corker reversed himself and signed on to the House-Senate budget proposal. “There is no question this budget is far from perfect,” Corker said, “But it is some progress since it has been a long time since Congress has completed this basic part of governing.”

With Corker allowing the budget to proceed, the House passed the proposal 226-197 Thursday, sticking close to their self-imposed deadline to move things forward before leaving town for a brief recess. Fourteen Republicans joined all the Democrats in opposition. The Senate will vote on the proposal in a few days.

Corker’s change of attitude could be considered a flip-flop since there were no fundamental changes made to the resolution to get him on board. But by making his initial stand, he brought to light some of the fundamental problems that plague the budget process in Washington.

To say that federal spending is out of control may be the mother of all understatements. The national debt is over $18 trillion, close to $10 trillion of which has been amassed since Barack Obama took office. Budget deficits, which averaged around $1 trillion a year for his first term, are still in the $500 billion range. Obama is proposing a 7% across-the-board spending increase for the next fiscal year, and he has vowed to veto any Republican budget that adheres to the sequestration cuts that he suggested then later blamed on Republicans.

Democrats have remained resolutely committed to spending without limits while ignoring the inevitable consequences of the government’s careless fiscal strategy, or lack thereof. Senate Democrats are expected to unanimously oppose the budget like their colleagues in the House.

The budget process is complicated and filled with numerous moving parts. It’s no wonder that it puts people’s brains to sleep. Unfortunately, it’s had the same effect on those elected to actually negotiate it.

Many citizens know the dangers of not cutting back on spending, yet when it comes time for the government to actually do so people balk at their favorite programs being cut because so many are now on the government dole. This was by liberal design. Over the course of many years, Democrats have steadily convinced the public that people need the government to run all these services and provide cradle-to-grave entitlements. No one stopped to consider just how all these programs would be paid for.

That is why Corker’s stand against the CHIMPS budget gimmick, brief though it was, is so important. It highlights the fantasy world in which Congressional lawmakers live, and it reminds us all that this world must give way to reality if America wants to avoid political and economic disaster.

OPINION IN BRIEF

David Harsanyi: “After a night of violence and looting in Baltimore, Barack Obama spoke to the press and said that ‘we, as a country, have to do some soul-searching’ — by which he meant ‘they,’ as in conservatives, need to get on board. … Where does the blame for the civil unrest lie? In plenty of places. Some of those places have absolutely nothing to do with politics and can’t be fixed by any Washington agenda — imagined or otherwise. The tribulations plaguing cities such as Baltimore are complex, having festered for years. But does that excuse the bungling of Democratic Party governance? Does it change the fact that massive amounts of spending have done little in the war on poverty? And if Democrats claim that they are uniquely sympathetic toward the poor and weak, that welfare programs can never be reformed, only expanded, and that perpetually pumping ‘investments’ into cities is the only way to alleviate the hardship faced by citizens, it’s more than fair to gauge the effectiveness — not to mention the competence — of those allocating and overseeing those policies. Because Republicans may be horrible, but they aren’t running Baltimore.”

Non Compos Mentis: “We can’t continue to frame law enforcement and the police forces in America as simply a bunch of good natured people and there happen to be a few bad apples among them. That’s not the right analysis. … [I]t’s something about the job itself and the structure of law enforcement in America itself that becomes an occupying force and — they’re an occupying force in the hood.” —Morehouse College professor Marc Lamont Hill

Demo-gogues: “Excessive police force and staggering unemployment work together because what we’ve done in the United States is that we’ve said that the affluent part of our society is going to demand more tax breaks, more wealth, more privilege, leaving less for the less fortunate. The way we keep the less fortunate in control is policing and prisons — that’s the unfortunate formula that we’ve constructed. … Our society is going to have to decide if are we going to just pay the police and the prisons to keep the poor under control or we can invest and include everyone in this economy. We are connected here; we are all Americans; we’ve got to say that, look, you can make good money, but do you have to make so much that whole neighborhoods have nothing, not even any hope?” —Rep. Keith Ellison on what precipitated the Baltimore riots

Village Idiots: “Here’s my demand: I want every African-American currently incarcerated for drug ‘crimes’ or nonviolent offenses released from prison today. And the rest who [are] imprisoned — I don’t believe 50% of them did what they’re accused of. Lies. Greed. A modern day slave system…. Next demand: Disarm the police. We have a [quarter] billion 2nd amendment guns in our homes [for] protection. We’ll survive til the right cops [are] hired.” —filmmaker Michael Moore

So, how’s 2015 looking so far? Well, chilly — literally, according to Democrats. The Commerce Department released initial numbers for the first quarter of 2015, and, at a sluggish 0.2%, GDP once again tempered America’s level of economic enthusiasm. And the “worse-than-expected” downtrend is inevitably being blamed on winter weather woes. Jason Furman, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said this latest estimate “was likely affected by notably harsh winter weather” — interesting considering we’re supposedly coming off the warmest year on record and had a record warm start to 2015. It’s also the same recycled excuse they used last year.

Moreover, as Nick Timiraos of The Wall Street Journal reminds us, revisions knocked last year’s initial first quarter growth down by a staggering two percentage points — from 0.1% to -2.1%. Is a repeat in the offing? Yesterday’s report continues a familiar trend under the Obama recovery — a roller coaster ride that features some signs of life along with harsh reality checks. Stability and sustainability are still lacking in the economy, which will continue through at least 2017.

Bernie Sanders Challenges Clinton for Democrat Nomination

At least the Democrat presidential primary got interesting. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the politician who described himself as a “democratic socialist” and who was described by the New York Times as an adherent to “that old-time religion” of populism, announced he is campaigning to win the Democrat Party’s nomination as its presidential candidate. The politician that was once too far to the Left for the Democrat Party told the Associated Press, “People should not underestimate me. I’ve run outside of the two-party system, defeating Democrats and Republicans, taking on big-money candidates and, you know, I think the message that has resonated in Vermont is a message that can resonate all over this country.” Right out of the gate, Sanders challenged Hillary Clinton’s succession to the throne by bringing the progressive rhetoric that splits rich versus poor and capitalizes on income inequality. “What we have seen is that while the average person is working longer hours for lower wages,” Sanders said, “we have seen a huge increase in income and wealth inequality, which is now reaching obscene levels.” Between the two candidates, Clinton still seems the greater threat. Sanders appears more harmless than calculating, and a Sanders nomination will pull the Democrat Party further from middle America.

Did Freddie Gray Try to Injure Himself in the Police Van?

If true, the death of Freddie Gray may not have anything to do with police brutality and more to do with an irrational man bent on self-harm. This in from The Washington Post: “A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray ‘banging against the walls’ of the vehicle and believed that he ‘was intentionally trying to injure himself,’ according to a police document obtained by The Washington Post.” This story has the ring of truthiness about it, but is it really? Jazz Shaw writes at Hot Air that the prisoner could be an unreliable witness — similar to the witnesses that said Michael Brown had his hands up. Furthermore, Investigative Reporter at Baltimore’s NBC affiliate TV station Jayne Miller said the Post’s account contradicts what the Baltimore Police Commissioner said a week ago. At the time, he said the prisoner described Gray as “mostly quiet.” The timeline is still being reconstructed. When we do get the complete and truthful story, what will happen if the rioters, who already destroyed much of Baltimore, do not get the conclusion for which they demanded?

No, Riots Are Not a ‘Legitimate Political Strategy’

By Allyne Caan

2015-04-30-95d257d8_large.jpgRioters and police clash in Ferguson during August's unrest

Reading the liberal media, you’d think the Baltimore rioters are the reincarnation of Lexington and Concord’s minutemen, bravely facing tyrants to defend their freedom. Well, Paul Revere might disagree. Somehow, ruining businesses and running off with condoms doesn’t quite equate to Patrick Henry’s speech “Give me Liberty or give me death.”

But the Left wants America to think it does.

A particularly absurd Salon headline this week reads, “Baltimore’s violent protesters are right: Smashing police cars is a legitimate political strategy.” The author’s argument is that non-violence is “a tactic, not a philosophy” and that black communities are struggling against “premeditated economic exploitation.” Riots are simply “reasonable responses to generations of extreme state violence, and logical decisions about what kind of actions yield the desired political results.”

According to Fordham University sociology professor Heather Gautney, “Riots like the ones we are seeing in Baltimore … should be viewed as rational responses to injustice. Riots highlight the injustice and violence that’s prevalent in impoverished neighborhoods in this country.”

And BuzzFeed’s Adam Serwer writes, “Violence — as harmful and self-destructive as it is — sometimes works.” Serwer claims that, for 80 years, the “recipe for urban riots” has been largely the same: “(a)n impoverished and politically disempowered black population refused full American citizenship, a heavy-handed and overwhelmingly white police force, a generous amount of neglect, and frequently, the loss of black life at the hands of the police.”

But is portraying lawless violence as a justified and effective quest for justice accurate?

A closer look at the facts says, “No.”

For starters, as Acton Institute Senior Editor Joe Carter points out, far from empowering black communities, urban riots leave lingering damage. In 2004, The National Bureau of Economic Research published research on riots that took place in the 1960s and 1970s, and Carter notes the research found not only a decline in the median black family income in riot-impacted cities but also declines in male employment rates and in the median value of black-owned property.

And as for “premeditated economic exploitation” and political disempowerment justifying violence, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson notes that even during the era of Jim Crow laws, when institutionalized racism was both legal and praised, black crime was “relatively low” — no riots as a “legitimate political strategy ” then. And since Johnson’s infamous War on Poverty was launched, Peterson adds, there has been a “massive wealth transfer to black Americans in the form of welfare and other handouts.” Certainly, a case can be made for economic exploitation, but the indictment would be against those intent on keeping black voters dependent on the government for handouts.

Is violence, then, justified, or is it simply being used as an escape from tackling problems with resolution — not simply retribution — in mind? Just as profanity is often the discourse of those unwilling to develop a compelling vocabulary, so violence is often the discourse of those unwilling to develop compelling arguments.

And there is inarguably a need for compelling arguments. While America has made exceptional strides toward Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s goal of judging others based not on the color of their skin but on the content of their character, racism has sadly not yet breathed its last in America.

Yet, even amid racism, King himself held firmly his belief “that a riot merely intensifies the fears of the white community while relieving the guilt.” He continued, “I’ve been searching for a long time for an alternative to riots on one hand and timid supplication for justice on the other and I think that alternative is found in militant massive non-violence.”

When the colonists took up arms and declared independence from Great Britain, they had for 10 years prior sought reconciliation with the Crown and resorted to arms only when their repeated attempts at peace were disregarded. And in the Declaration of Independence, they set forth clearly their justifications for rejecting injustice.

In presenting a dignified argument against racism, Dr. King did the same. And in so doing, he made incredible strides forward for black Americans.

Tragically, the violence of lawless rioters is doing nothing to continue Dr. King’s work and much to undercut it.

Far from elevating violence to a level of rational discourse, endorsing riots as legitimate political strategy diminishes the quality of discourse and demeans the ability of Americans — black and white — to confront injustice not with stones and arson but with truth, which alone has the power to bring justice.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Cal Thomas: “The problem for traditionalists — especially those who believe scripture is the sole authority in such matters — is that in an increasingly secular society where younger people are less attuned to appeals about an Authority higher than themselves, how can they be persuaded that same-sex marriage is a bridge too far? After all, don’t they ‘know’ gay people, whom they regard as wonderful and kind? That ‘standard’ becomes subjective and when it reaches the level of personal feelings it becomes a shifting boundary that is drawn in invisible ink rather than set in stone. Only two years ago, in the case of ‘U.S. v. Windsor,’ which argued whether the IRS could give federal tax benefits to all legally married homosexuals, regardless of state law, Justice Kennedy warned it was wrong for courts to ‘put a thumb on the scales and influence a state’s decision as to shape its own marriage laws.’ And now this court could do precisely that. … If people worship pleasure and material things, they are more likely to get leaders who give them what they want instead of what they need to hold society together. If we erase the boundaries that have guided humanity for generations, we weaken our society.”

SHORT CUTS

Upright: “Baltimore is not America’s problem or shame. That failed city is solely and completely a Democrat problem. Like many failed cities, Detroit comes to mind, and every city besieged recently by rioting, Democrats and their union pals have had carte blanche to inflict their ideas and policies on Baltimore since 1967, the last time there was a Republican Mayor. … Poverty has nothing to do with it. This madness and chaos and anarchy is a Democrat-driven culture that starts at the top with a racially divisive White House heartbreakingly effective at ginning up hate and violence.” —Breitbart’s John Nolte

Race bait: “You don’t have to look too far from this magnificent hall to find children still living in poverty or trapped in failing schools. Families who work hard but can’t afford the rising prices in their neighborhood. Mothers and fathers who fear for their sons' safety when they go off to school — or just to go buy a pack of Skittles.” —Hillary Clinton at Columbia University, referring to Trayvon Martin (For the record, the shooter, “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman, was acquitted. But he’s still guilty in Clinton’s eyes.)

Dezinformatsia: “All Baltimore City public schools were closed on Tuesday in response to violent protests breaking out across the city in response to Freddie Gray’s death. About 84 percent of students in city’s public schools receive free or reduced-price lunches, according to the school district’s website. The closings mean that these students were unable to access these lunches, and churches and community centers have been scrambling to fill the gap. That’s why it was so shocking to hear that Whole Foods and Five Guys had taken the initiative to provide free food forNational Guard soldiers instead of for thousands of high-need children.” —Salon’s Joanna Rothkopf (The Leftmedia will do anything to slander our troops.)

Non Compos Mentis: “The [GOP budget] is no more balanced than the earthquakes they’ve had in Nepal.” —Harry Reid (“[W]e probably shouldn’t be shocked that Reid would use the Nepal earthquake to score some quick points. He’s leaving; why should he care.” —Hot Air’s Matt Vespa)

Late-night humor: “Hillary Clinton has temporarily changed her campaign logo to rainbow colors in support of marriage equality. Of course, her idea of marriage equality is both of you should get to be president.” —Seth Meyers
